8-Ball is a male contestant on Battle for BFDI.

In Battle for Dream Island, 8-Ball was one of the 30 recommended characters that had a chance to join the show in "The Reveal". The votes for the debut were revealed in "Reveal Novum" and he only got 8 votes which was not enough to join, placing him 15th to join the season.

In Battle for Dream Island Again, 8-Ball had the chance to join at the start of the season but he only received 154 votes which wasn't enough, placing 35th to join the season and so he was sent to the Tiny Loser Chamber.

In IDFB, 8-Ball is currently in the Tiny Loser Chamber due to failing to debut in BFDIA. He had a chance to join the season but only received 110 votes[4], which was not enough to rejoin and placed him 22nd to join the season.

In Battle for BFDI, 8-Ball competed on A Better Name Than That until "Questions Answered" where he was eliminated with 4,814 votes, placing 60th overall.

In Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two, 8-Ball was in The E.X.I.T. until his escape in "Out Of The Blue" due to being eliminated before "The Escape from Four". He was up for voting to join the season in "What's Up Bell's String?". He failed to join with 3,609 votes, the least out of all the EXITors, placing him 10th (last place) to join the season. As of "Last One Standing", 8-Ball is with Firey in an escape boat that he built with him.

Personality[]

BFB[]

8-Ball always wants everyone to know that he does not have a favorite number, despite his name. He speaks in a bland, monotone tone most of the time, except in "Today's Very Special Episode" where he got emotional and almost started to cry after nearly causing the team to lose. In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", 8-Ball successfully managed the team after Golf Ball's death without being controlling or bossy, leaving the rest of the team to give him the title of team captain in "Lick Your Way to Freedom".

In later episodes, he started telling the team to do the opposite of whatever Golf Ball said, causing the team to almost lose twice. He later said that he was joking and trying to add humor to his team the entire time. 8-Ball's attempts at humor show that he tries to lift the spirit of the team and boost morale with good intentions, though he often comes across as somewhat dim-witted at not seeing the negative effects of his sarcasm. This dry wit is best shown when he manages to sway Bracelety into disliking Loser by using Ice Cube's supposed dislike of the latter.

TPOT[]

Although he stopped his sarcastic demeanor, his character still continues to develop, particularly through his experience while he escapes the EXIT along with the others trapped inside. His first major role in the season is in "Out Of The Blue," where he, grouped with Dora and Firey Jr, work together to eventually escape the EXIT, while making sure Four wouldn't stop them. In Seasonal Shift, 8-Ball befriends Firey and provides support for him, and helps him when he needs it. This shows how 8-ball learned to be cooperative and dependable after seeing that fooling others didn't help people.

Official Character Guide biography[]

8-Ball is a pool ball-the black 8 to be exact. Unlike the other balls, he moves by rolling around.

8-Ball will not let people forget that he doesn't have a favorite number. Despite his uninterested tone of voice, he inspired his team to overthrow Golf Ball as its leader. Everyone seems to listen to him whenever he opposes Golf Ball's directions. In fact, Basketball is 8-Ball's closest follower, asking him for guidance during BFB's most tumultuous time.

Did You Know?: 8-Ball has never counted to 9.

Powers and abilities[]

  • Strong teeth: 8-Ball's teeth are very strong, as shown when he is able to bite and destroy the jawbreaker holding Golf Ball. However, this could not be true, as in a BFB 2 deleted scene, Blocky steals a VHS from Free Food about breaking jawbreakers, which involves putting saliva on them in order to complete the task with ease. 8-Ball also uses a hammer with his teeth while helping Firey build a boat in Seasonal Shift.
  • Fumes: Whenever 8-balls remains enter someone's body, the affected person will emphasize words that sound similar to eight. (other effects are here)
  • Durability (possibly): In Out Of The Blue, during one of the flashback scenes, 8-Ball uses one of the Four-shaped trees to launch himself miles and miles away, but reappears shortly afterward, along with Dora and Firey Jr. This implies that 8-Ball may have survived considering the lack of a recovery center.

  • 8-Ball is the only contestant with a number in his name.
  • He is one of the few contestants to have white facial features rather than the usual black, along with Remote, Cake, Profily, TV, and Price Tag.

    • He's the only one who is a solid color instead of 2 misc. colors.

  • 8-Ball is the first character to come out of the cake in the Anniversary Wheel, followed by Fourteen.

    • This is because their first elimination was their last, as they were eliminated on their first elimination.

General[]

  • 8-Ball is the first contestant in alphabetical order.
  • In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", almost all of 8-Ball's lines start with "I don't have a favorite number", referencing his debut audition in "The Reveal".
  • On his worksheet in "Get to the Top in 500 Steps", the question "What is your favorite number?" is answered with "I don't have one."
  • He is the only limbless character voiced by Cary Huang.
  • 8-Ball is the only character in BFB whose name is separated with a hyphen.
    • However, in one of Michael's tweets, there was a character with name separated with a hyphen called Drear-Top.
  • In "No More Snow!", he can be seen in the forest with Bell and Grassy.
  • 8-Ball has been crushed to death by both the sun and the moon.
    • Coincidentally, both his deaths involve being crushed by huge celestial objects.
    • These are his only deaths so far.
  • Out of the ten current Exitors, 8-Ball is the only one who died at least once in BFB.
  • For some reason, 8-ball does not possess an outline, a feat unique to him since he is an actual character, and not a prop, which normally don’t have ones in BFB onward.
    • Even more odd is that props throughout BFDI to IDFB usually did have outlines.
  • 8-Ball moves by rolling around and is the only character to regularly do this (aside from Pin when she didn't have limbs, Puffball when she was bandaged up, and Yellow Face on a few occasions).
  • 8-Ball temporarily acted as the new leader of A Better Name Than That after replacing Golf Ball.
  • In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", when 8-Ball is launched by the trebuchet, he has an old mouth asset, but it only appears briefly.
  • 8-Ball claims to not have a favorite number, although he says 8 is the most important number in "Enter the Exit".
  • He has very strong jaws, as seen in "Lick Your Way to Freedom" when he bites open a jawbreaker.
  • 8-Ball is the only BFB newcomer with an official variation, 9-Ball.
  • 8-Ball is the first character to receive a bouncy plush but not a standard one.
