This article lists the many acronyms shown throughout BFDI. Some are obvious while some are more obscure.

Seasons

BFDI/A

BFDI stands for Battle for Dream Island, the name of the show and BFDIA stands for Battle for Dream Island Again, the name of the second season. A running gag in the series involves the BFDI/A acronym standing for something else. Below is a list of nearly every instance of the gag:

• In "Barriers and Pitfalls", a clip of "Blocky's Funny Doings International" is shown. The program continues to make cameos throughout the rest of the series.
• In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2", during the No More Advertisements Foundation commercial, the presenter refers to ads as "Boring, frustrating, disgusting and irritating".
• In "Well Rested", Fries refers to the rooms of the Evil Here Hotel as bad, fancy, decent and iffy, in that order.
• In "Intruder Alert", all the members of FreeSmart (except Firey and Gelatin) tell Firey Speaker Box "We beat the other teams [...]", "We finished it!", "We did it!", "We inhabited them!", and "I assassinated them!", respectively.
• In "Catch These Hands", Yellow Face refers to the "Don't Purple Open Inside" box as a "beryllium fortress, destruction: impossible".
• Additionally, in "Catch These Hands", Needle and Bomby rapid-fire through charades. In order, their charades were bandaging a leg; frying an egg; delivering a pizza; inhaling helium; and acronymizing the last 5 phrases gestured. This stands for "BFDIA".
• In "Taste the Sweetness", everyone except Fries forms a team known as the "Beautiful Face Devotion Institute".
• In "Lots of Mud", everyone but Ice Cube leaves the Beautiful Face Devotion Institute because of her ugly face, and transform into a new temporary team called the "Bad Face Destruction Institute". Also, the intro for the episode reads "But Flower's Doing It!".
• In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4", the name of the contest for the episode is called Bug-Filled Dodgeball Insanity. Additionally, the ending of the episode announces a vinyl titled "Bops, Famous Ditties & Instrumentals".
• In "Well, Look Who It Is!", Dora orders take out from a company called “Blazing Fast Delivery of Islands”. This stands for BFDI.
• In "PointyPointyPointy ♫", the initials of each location Book, Ruby, Needle, Bubble and Pencil say they’re going to investigate on the boat (Bow, Foremast, Deck, Inside, Afterpeak) spell out "BFDIA".
• As the screen fades to black before the intro in "Spore Day," the initials for Blocky's Funny Doings Investigation Agency are emphasized.
• Additionally, in "Spore Day," Pin calls Pencil "bratty, filthy, dangerous, and insane" when arguing with Book.

IDFB stands for Island Dream For Battle, or dnalsI maerD roF elttaB, which is BFDI but backwards, which is the name of the third season.

• One time, Coiny (jokingly), said It's Deep Fried Breaths to Fries, which stands for IDFB.

BFB

BFB stands for Battle for BFDI/BFB.

• There are two episodes that have acronyms in their titles, that being BFB 28 (Back from Beginning) and 29 (Save Our Show).

TPOT

TPOT stands for The Power of Two. TPOT is pronounced the same way as the word "teapot".

• In "Lots of Mud", Book tells Flower that she thinks Earth Water Outerwear is a very commendable bookbinding company.
