FreeSmart is Pencil's alliance. It was formed back in the first episode, when Bubble said "Let's form an alliance!" Match and Pencil accepted the formation, and Ice Cube asked if she could join. She was rejected. Later, when Match got out, Ice Cube got accepted into the alliance to keep it going. When Pencil got out, Ice Cube suggested that Needle could join the alliance. The alliance more or less fazed out at this point, with Bubble and Ice Cube just continuing as friends. In BFDIA, Ice Cube was kicked out of the alliance by Pencil and Match when they saw her make a face they didn't like. Ruby was invited into the alliance, temporarily replacing Bubble as she was dead. Later on, Ice Cube and Book join the alliance but only as alternates. In BFDIA 5a, the alliance formed a new team called FreeSmart. In BFB, Book and Ice Cube both step down from the alliance as they thought it was too unhealthy for them. In BFB 13, Ice Cube temporarily joined iance to reunite with Bubble and Ruby. After the split, not much happened outside of Bubble referring to Ruby as a fellow alliance member in BFB 20. At the beginning of TPOT, Ice Cube refused to team up with Book due to a conflict, and when Pencil joined later on, Ice Cube and Book both refused to join the alliance again.

Ultimate Alliance[]

In "Launch Party", after they both got recovered, Book told Pin to work together, because Book put Pin's basket into hers in hopes of staying out of the danger zone. Pin didn't want to work with Book, but she decided to stay. Their alliance was split when Book offered to go search for valuables in Yoyleland using Leafy's Map. Pin did not like her plan, so she ripped the map in to pieces again after Book "teleported", and went off to "obliterate the boys".

During the challenge in BFB 22, Lollipop realizes that she and Gelatin are the only remaining newbies in the cast and figures that they should team up in order to best the veteran contestants. Gelatin accepts the offer, then they do a little dance. In BFB 25, Gelatin adds Teardrop to the alliance. In BFB 27, Teardrop wanted to add Leafy to the alliance, so that they could beat Flower and Gelatin agrees. However, Leafy uses her status as an alliance member to add Flower, making all of the final four part of the alliance. In BFB 28, the Newbie Alliance became a team, with Gelatin naming it to pay tribute to Lollipop, who was eliminated. It was also dissolved in the same episode.

Cross-Team alliance[]

A cross-team alliance is proposed in TPOT 13 by Pencil so she could get Book and Ice Cube back in a alliance together. So far Book and Ice Cube have been shown quite uncomfortable forming a alliance with her, with Price Tag being the only person separating Pencil from them. She has tried using posters to persuade the two of them, rebuilt their van, and even bring back their old clubhouse after it got destroyed.
Anti-CloudYAY alliance[]

This alliance was a temporary one formed in TPOT 14, suggested by Liy as they all had a distaste for several members of CloudYAY the current leading team. The teams BAGGED, Death P.A.C.T Yet Again and Team 2 were planned to all attempt to sabotage CloudYAY however the plan ultimately failed when the three teams couldn't decide which one of them deserved the immunity so a brawl broke out between them.

In "The Power of Four", when Pillow refuses to hide in the challenge, X asks her if she wants to be a seeker instead, and she agrees. She brings X around with her to get him to tag people she finds. When Four asks why she hasn't been tagged yet, she explains to him that she and X have an alliance, making this the first alliance (albeit a temporary one) between a contestant and a host. The alliance presumably dissolved after Four, ignoring Pillow's alliance claims, tagged her and eliminated her from the challenge.
Gaty and Saw's alliance[]

Main article: Gaty and Saw
In "Well, Look Who It Is!", after the TLC/LOL prisoners get their redesigns, Saw repaints Gaty to be periwinkle instead of brown, to Gaty's happiness. This is possibly how their friendship started. In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Gaty and Saw were sitting together before Blocky grabs her by the handle to cut the pentagon in pieces. When the contestants begin to form teams, Gaty tells Saw to join her team. Saw agrees, and she joins Gaty's team, bringing Lollipop and Taco with her. Gaty later tells Saw and Taco that Book has burst into flames and that their team is in the bottom two, so Saw screams at them to swim faster through the lava. In "Return of the Rocket Ship", Gaty is happy to have Saw finally return after being gone for so long. She also defends Saw from the accusations of Book. In "The Four is Lava", as Saw expresses her worries about her team not being able to do Cake at Stake, Gaty nervously responds that if none of them leave the hole, none of them would be eliminated. When Saw tries to reason with her that it would be unfair to the other teams, Gaty yells that she doesn't want to be eliminated and begins crying, while Saw comforts her. In "The Escape from Four", Saw can be seen standing with Gaty when Book is talking to Taco as she leaves. They both end up joining TPOT by the end of the episode. In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Saw admits that she misses Lollipop and Taco, but Gaty reassures her that she's still here for her. The two end up being on the same team as each other. In the challenge, Saw has Donut hold her over the edge of the building. Gaty sees this and magnetizes her hinges to get pulled up to her, making their team safe. In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", when it's shown that Team8s have 12.5 blocks stacked, Saw can be seen pointing out the funny plant to Gaty. In "Seasonal Shift", the past versions of Gaty and Saw from "The Escape from Four" stand close and look at each other concerned when a future Anchor causes a loud explosion.
Coiny and Pin alliance[]
Main article: Coiny and Pin

In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Coiny brings Pin and Needle along with him to Donut's team in an effort to recreate W.O.A.H. Bunch. When Coiny argues with Gaty over the team name, Pin says that part of her agrees with Coiny's W.O.A.H Bunch idea, but she'd like for them to be called something else. Coiny can also be seen on top of Pin's head a couple times this episode. In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Coiny asks Pin if she's ready to join the team again. Seeing as Two had no problems with their strategy and the rest of the team was okay with it, Pin reluctantly obliges, making Coiny and the rest of the team cheer. In "Gardening Zero", Coiny suggests that Pin, Gaty, Barf Bag and Needle should use a flower that Saw once smelt as a shrine to remember her after her elimination, which Pin says is a great idea. During the challenge, Pin tells her team that the soil in Yoyleland is fertile enough for their Funny Plant to survive on its own. Coiny compliments her for knowing such about plants and Pin says that she's just obsessed with reading about Yoyle biology. In "Fishes and Dishes", when Pin criticizes Donut for thinking he could use a fishing rod to reel a plate that's miles underwater, Coiny thanks her. In "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", Team8s is assigned the Balance Beam to fix. Pin and Coiny get distracted and decide to compete with each other to see who can last longer on it. Pin throws random items at Coiny to get him to fall off. Coiny catches a mirror that she threw and starts using it to look at himself. Pin tells him to stop getting distracted from their challenge and they to tug on the mirror. They tug on it so much that it becomes big enough to support their broken half of the beam, as it looks like the beam was never broken in the first place. They decide that all they have to do is place the beam down gently against the mirror to win and high-five. When the rest of the team manages to balance the beam against the mirror, Pin becomes so happy over their victory that she shakes Coiny. This causes the balance beam to shatter the mirror, ruining their strategy. They both sweep up the glass from the mirror. Pin refers back to these events in "The Power of Four" when she is eliminated, questioning whether she really couldn't get far without Coiny. In "Bottle For Dream Island," Pin and Coiny are reunited in the TPOT elimination space, later finding a way to escape. Pin's room features a picture of the two. It also seems like Coiny is helping Pin move in.
