The cold open[]

A black screen fades to Lollipop, who is sitting on a chair, writing a note to Four. It reads the following:

Dearest Four, I am writing to inform you of a scandal. Recently, I was approved for the Yellow Face Silver Standard Gold Credit Card. It's very valuable - saves me a lot of money. Anyway, the bottom line here is... ONE OF THESE PILLARY YOKELS STOLE MY CARD. NO EXCUSE CAN BE REASONED. THE CULPRIT HAS AN EVIL HEART, AND NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH BY YOU POST-HASTE. Sincerely, Lollipop.

Lollipop puts the note into a letter, seals it, puts a Teardrop stamp on it, and attempts to put it in the mailbox. However, when she bends down and looks into it, she notices Four inside it. Four then pushes themself out of the mailbox, reverting to their normal shape. They then confirm that they're back, and Lollipop greets Four with a simple "Hi, Four". A modified BFB intro begins.

After the intro[]

The episode cuts to a building, before cutting to the inside of it, with wires hanging out of a large monitor. Four, assuming that the contestants have stolen Lollipop's credit card, grabs Woody, shakes him violently, and tells him to give the credit card back, although he does not have it. Blocky defends Woody by carrying, although Four immediately shifts the accusation to Blocky instead. Blocky defends himself by saying that if he were to take it, Four would know, but Four says they "will" know, gesturing to Bubble, telling him to watch. They then proceed to pop Bubble with the wire. Four gets the sudden realization that bubbles do, in fact, pop.

Four asks Taco how she's doing, and just as she was about to tell them, Four cut her off, saying that there's "no more niceness". They then recover Bubble, plug the wire into her, along with everyone else, who also end up falling asleep afterwards. Four then put the wire inside themselves, before screeching due to pain.

A projected Bubble then wakes up with Bubble in front of her, who asks her if she's okay. The projection Bubble looks around the beach, looks at Bubble, and they both celebrate the fact that they're the same kind. They jump repeatedly, seemingly not getting tired. Gelatin then pops Bubble. As Four recovers the projected Bubble, Gelatin tries to pop the real Bubble, but Four explains to Gelatin that you “can't hurt a memory”. Bubble then calls Gelatin "silly", and slaps Gelatin.

Four explains that everyone is inside Bubble's memory and correctly predicts Bubble and Ruby's conversation about looking for Teardrop. He then announces the challenge: the post-splitters must explore their memories to figure out who took the card and where it ended up, so they can find it in the real world. With that, the challenge begins as Four teleports everyone into the simulation, except for Bubble, who chases after the SuperVan and clings to it as it drives away.

In the simulation, the rest of the post-splitters wake up, panting. Four begins plugging wires into each of them. Just as he's about to connect Ruby, Match interrupts, pleading with Four not to separate her from Ruby and Bubble. She almost reaches for Bubble, but stops when she sees Bubble already wired in. Match instead leaves with Ruby. Four turns on a monitor showing nine loading slots with progress bars slowly filling up.

Challenge[]

In Woody's memory, he wakes up on Four's bus alongside Memory Spongy. Wondering how the bus is moving, Simulation Woody walks to the front and glances back at Spongy; only to notice the bus is speeding straight into a cactus patch. Woody screams, but Spongy calmly shushes him. The bus crashes into the cactuses, though it barely affects them. Woody cowers, then sighs in relief.

Meanwhile, Four examines Woody's body and then Taco's. In Taco's memory, she's caught in a loop of being eaten by the fish monster, regenerating, and getting eaten again. Four anxiously checks on Loser and Blocky's bodies. In their shared memory, Loser gets a call from Four, who explains they've accidentally ended up in the same memory. Blocky asks how that happened, and Four blames Taco. The two are skeptical, but Four insists they can still find the card before ending the call.

Blocky and Loser

Memory Lollipop opens an envelope and pulls out her Yellow Face Silver Standard Gold Credit Card. Blocky shouts that he's found it, but Loser points out it hasn't been stolen yet. Blocky says he'll fix that and charges at Lollipop. Just before he reaches her, Blocky is hit by the tablet, which smashes and knocks him to the ground. Lollipop quickly shuts the door. Blocky, frustrated, calls Loser an idiot for ruining the plan, then turns to chase after him, but notices Loser glitching. Both are confused until Loser suddenly disappears. Blocky, unfazed, shrugs it off and continues his pursuit of Lollipop.

Meanwhile, in Flower's memory, she and Memory Gelatin are seen giving a business pitch to a group of investors. They display their graph upside-down to make it look like their company is thriving, but the investors remain unconvinced. One person raises their hand, which is revealed to be Simulation Lollipop, who walks to the front, flips the graph, revealing their business is actually bankrupt. Seeing this, the board members decide their money is better spent elsewhere and walk out. Lollipop asks them about their Yellow Face Silver Standard Gold Credit Card, but Gelatin doesn't know what she's talking about. Memory Flower pleads for help with their business, with Gelatin reminding her of their alliance.

The scene shifts to Simulation Spongy in Loser's memory, where Memory Loser is brought on stage in front of an unenthusiastic crowd. One fan anticipates the performance, but stops after realizing no one else is reacting. Loser performs Spongy Cake with Rose, but the audience stays silent. Disappointed, Loser walks offstage, while the fan burns their merchandise. Spongy feels bad for Loser, but soon notices the fire spreading and realizes he needs to escape.

In Bubble's memory, Simulation Bubble clings to the van as it stops. Memory Bubble and Memory Ruby step out, and the latter states that if they're going to explore the ruins again, they'll need some cash. Bubble suggests selling the van to Yellow Face. Watching this from afar, Simulation Bubble concludes that Ruby wouldn't have stolen the card, as she already has money from selling the van. Simulation Bubble then uses her Memory Time Machine, first landing in August 2012 where she sees Match, Pencil, and herself from BFDIA 3. She realizes she's gone too far back, but adds that it'd be nice to see Match again. She then jumps forward to September 2024, returning to the Pillary Ruins, where Ruby and herself are seen happily jumping in puddles.

The scene shifts to Woody in Spongy's memory, where they're both seen walking in the desert. Simulation Woody speculates that Spongy hid the credit card in his pores to buy and eat stuff, so he stretches one of Memory Spongy's pores before hopping in. Spongy panics, causing him to fall over and send Woody flying into a pit of quicksand. Woody starts sinking, so he screams. Woody cries for help as he slowly begins sinking, however Memory Spongy simply sits near him, smiling.

Back in Flower's memory, Memory Flower pulls out a book titled "Lollipop's Business Tips & Tricks", written by Lollipop. However, Simulation Lollipop immediately snatches the book from her hands and hurls it out the window, shattering the glass. She reveals the book is filled with lies, stating she'd never give away her real business secrets. When Flower asks what they should do next, Lollipop simply tells Flower and Gelatin to follow her. The two exchange unamused looks, glancing at the shattered window.

In Lollipop's memory, Simulation Blocky trails behind her into the Mega Mall, but gets stuck between the sliding doors. As he struggles to hold them open, the doors snap shut, flinging him inside and trapping his leg. A montage follows of Memory Lollipop visiting various stores. At a fork store, she receives a pile of forks, scowls, and angrily tosses them behind her before walking out. She's then handed a bowl of lava, reacts in disgust, and blasts it away using fork repellent. Some lava nearly hits Blocky, who scrambles out of the way. At a ladder store, she tests a ridiculously long ladder, but one of the steps breaks off and smacks Blocky in the face. A moment later, a pile of metal crashes down on Blocky, burying him completely.

Later, Lollipop enters a photo booth, posing confidently with her credit card. Blocky attempts to sneak in and steal it during a photo. In one shot, the card balances on her head while Blocky manages to snatch it. He proudly shows it off to a cashier, only to be told it's a fake. Meanwhile, Lollipop exits the mall, arms full of shopping bags, and casually remarks that it's too bad she lost her "decoy card", much to Blocky's frustration.

In Bubble's memory, Simulation Bubble watches as her past self and Memory Ruby jump playfully in puddles. Suddenly, Memory Match approaches. Ruby and Bubble pause their jumping. Match asks where they are. Bubble explains they've "been on the road for a while", and that they live there now. Match responds with an awkward smile, and Bubble offers her a soft smile in return, until Ruby splashes Match with puddle water, making them all laugh.

Match, Bubble, and Ruby

The three begin jumping together, giggling, but Match's laughter sounds slightly forced. Suddenly, she stops, and asks Bubble if she's mad at her. Bubble gently assures her she's not, and Match resumes jumping. She tries to say something more, but is splashed again by Ruby before she can finish as they continue to laugh and play. Simulation Bubble watches this from a distance, and quietly observes how sad Match looked back then. She asks herself if this is what she had felt all that time, and firmly decides she won't let that happen again.

The scene shifts to Taco in Blocky's memory, where Memory Blocky sits atop Four's broken jail cell, using binoculars to spy on Memory Lollipop, who is carrying several shopping bags. Simulation Taco*confronts Blocky, accusing him of having already stolen the credit card. Blocky corrects her, telling her "not yet". Just then, Lollipop drops one of her bags but quickly picks it back up, unaware that it's now blocking her view. That same bag slips onto a giant spring, launching into Blocky and showering him in glittery sweaters that cling to his face. As he scratches at them in irritation, he stumbles off the cliff, bounces off the spring, and gets launched into a pair of spring-loaded fists. The fists knock him back and forth repeatedly. Lollipop laughs at this, and her laughter causes her to fall onto the spring too. She bounces into the fists alongside Blocky, and the two are eventually flung to the ground, where they crash hard and lie in silence. Taco walks up calmly, then kicks Lollipop in the side. Lollipop stands up, furious, and warns Taco not to tell anyone what happened, or she'll kill her. She storms off. Taco watches her go and asks why they're even helping her again.

Meanwhile, in Lollipop's memory, Simulation Blocky enters the Have Cots' tower, dragging his injured leg. He eyes Memory Lollipop, who is sleeping on a dark blue couch, credit card in hand. As Blocky crouches behind the couch, Lollipop shifts, causing the card to slip between the cushions. Blocky searches frantically but finds nothing, until a sudden golden glow shines from the couch. He stares in awe, then lifts a cushion to reveal the glowing Yellow Face Silver Standard Gold Credit Card. He picks it up, realizing that Lollipop lost it in the couch. With card in hand, Blocky bolts out of the tower.

In Spongy's memory, Simulation Woody lets out a panicked scream, which causes chunks of a nearby cliff to start crumbling. Woody points frantically at the falling debris, trying to warn Memory Spongy to move. But Spongy, keeping his eyes closed, tells Woody he won't talk to him until he relaxes. The debris crashes down, but lands in a perfect circle around Spongy, completely missing him.

Suddenly, a ball of sand appears out of nowhere and begins rolling toward him, growing larger with each rotation. Woody screams again, but Spongy remains still with his eyes closed. Bugs crawl out from under the nearby rocks, surrounding the quicksand pit. The sand ball flattens the bugs, but the mass of crushed insects actually stops the ball in its tracks due to their density.

Woody tries to calm himself, closing his eyes and raising his arms. But just then, the bugs start piling up, lifting the sand ball higher, until it's flung toward Spongy and lands squarely in the quicksand pit. Spongy suddenly inhales all the sand, sucking it up and freeing Woody. Spongy ends up paler and larger than before, but Woody runs to hug him, relieved, and lets out a sigh.

The scene then cuts to Taco in Blocky's memory, where Memory Blocky wakes up from being knocked out. Taco is sitting nearby, reading How to Be Dumb: Volume 6. Blocky asks where Lollipop went and if she fell for the trap, to which Taco tells him "no". Blocky insists on trying again and quickly dashes off. Taco sighs and puts down her book, getting up to follow him. But before she can move, Blocky rushes back in, snatches the book, and tosses it offscreen. He tells her that books are for nerds before darting off again. As he leaves, Taco tells him Lollipop most likely went to the mall, pointing toward it. Blocky stops in his tracks, follows her direction, and takes off again, with Taco trailing behind as she rolls her eyes. A montage plays, similar to the one from Lollipop's memory earlier, only this time, Taco is quietly watching Blocky in the background. As before, Blocky repeatedly fails to retrieve the credit card, getting kicked away by Lollipop, while Taco simply stands by, observing.

The scene then shifts to Lollipop in Flower's memory. The meeting room is now dark and empty, until Memory Flower and Memory Gelatin enter. Simulation Lollipop greets them, claiming things could've gone much worse. Gelatin insists they're completely ruined. The scene cuts to various Recommended Characters trapped in a burning room, screaming as smoke fills the space and the fire intensifies. One of them struggles to unlock a door, but finds it sealed. Nearby, a security guard, wearing headphones and eating a sandwich, is completely oblivious.

Security Guard

Back in the meeting room, Lollipop brushes it off, claiming these things happen all the time in business. Gelatin pushes back, saying they couldn't escape because all the windows and doors were sealed. A second cutaway shows another recommended character trying to climb a ladder to reach a high window, but the flames race up the ladder, lighting them on fire and sending them tumbling down in agony.

Lollipop explains that the exits were blocked to prevent break-ins, since the event was exclusive. She adds they could've put the fire out if they tried harder. Flower reminds her they did try, and we see a character resembling a glass cup of water pour their water onto the fire, only for the water, along with their body, to catch fire instantly. Lollipop tells them they shouldn't have used water on a gasoline fire, and Gelatin finally asks if she truly believes she's not at fault for this. We cut once again to the guard, still calmly listening to music. The camera then pans to Lollipop, doing the exact same thing; reading a book, snacking, and ignoring the disaster. She shrugs it off again, saying she doesn't see how it's entirely her fault, but offers to help them out. Gelatin, fed up, tells her she's done enough. With that, Lollipop gets off the table and leaves the meeting room, sitting down in the adjacent office space, clearly irritated and done with the conversation.

In Blocky's memory, the scene shows Memory Blocky crawling on the ground, exhausted and in pain as he rolls onto his side and winces. Simulation Taco watches and questions whether he's even going to keep trying, frustrated. She vents that she feels completely cheated, and now stands no chance of winning, especially since it's clear Blocky didn't steal the card.

Back in Flower's memory, Simulation Lollipop is watching a news report on TV. A reporter covers the aftermath of Flower and Gelatin's disastrous shirt stake event, now engulfed in flames. Lollipop rolls her eyes and looks down at her tablet, where she sees a green arrow button. Pressing it, she begins fast-forwarding through the aftermath like it's a video playback. In front of her, Flower and Gelatin are seen speaking with a police officer, presumably dealing with legal consequences. Lollipop keeps tapping the button until the news finally shifts to a new topic. She sighs in relief, glad the scandal has blown over.

Back in Blocky's memory, Simulation Taco, now realizing the memory she's in would likely not have the card, grabs her tablet and tries to figure out a button that would take her out of the memory, and back in Flower's memory, Simulation Lollipop also realizes the card is likely not in her memory either, even when Memory Flower and Gelatin were both arrested. Simulation Taco finally finds a button on her tablet labeled "SWITCH", while Simulation Lollipop decides to press the button. They both press the button at the same time and get switched to the same memory, which was Lollipop's memory.

Simulation Taco was shocked to see that Simulation Lollipop used to live in a golden brick castle (which looks similar to the Have Nots' team tower). They enter the castle, and the interior had multiple luxurious items that were all made of gold. Simulation Lollipop deems the items as "tacky", while Simulation Taco deems it "cool", but Simulation Taco quickly changes her statement to "tacky". They meet a big, golden statue of Blocky, which Simulation Taco recognized who bought it. Just then, Simulation Blocky, riding a golden vehicle, approaches them, asking if what he bought was awesome. Simulation Lollipop ignores the question, and asks where it is, but Simulation Blocky thinks that she meant where Donut's third diary was. He gives a set of instructions that goes to where the diary is, but Simulation Lollipop, now infuriated, corrects herself and asks where her card was.

Blocky reminds Lollipop that she lost the credit card. Suddenly, Four appears, announcing that he found it. Blocky insists that since he now has the card, everyone else should leave, but Lollipop insists it was stolen. Blocky counters that she merely dropped it in the couch cushions, and then offers to let her live in his pool house, if she's nice to him. Taco chimes in, reminding them that this is just a memory and none of it is real. Realizing the card's true location, Lollipop decides to leave in search of it. Blocky insists he should get the card in the real world since he "won" the challenge, and he pleads for someone to unplug him.

Blocky asking to be unplugged

Lollipop tells Four that the card is rightfully hers. Four warns Blocky that bad things will happen if anyone else tries to pull him out of the simulation. However, he offers to create a portal in Taco's memory zone, aka the only way out. Taco asks why it has to be in her memory, but instead of answering, Four says the portal will take 30 minutes to open before disappearing. Taco is about to suggest a solution, but Blocky and Lollipop both propose they assemble teams and fight to the death. Taco says she was going to suggest they battle for it, but agrees. Before she finishes her sentence, Blocky and Lollipop teleport to her memory, and Taco rushes to follow them.

Cut to Taco's memory, where Simulation Flower and Simulation Gelatin are sitting on the ground, shaking as Memory Taco silently reads a book nearby. Simulation Taco asks what's wrong. Gelatin says she is what's wrong. Flower complains that Taco lives a boring life, saying all she does is read, meditate, sleep, then repeat. Taco responds that if they're looking for excitement, she has just the thing, leaving Flower and Gelatin intrigued.

In Loser's memory, Simulation Spongy greets Simulation Blocky, saying he doesn't think Loser has the card. But before he can finish, Blocky grabs him and teleports them both to Spongy's memory, where he frantically warns Simulation Woody to come with them or face a “painful end”. The three of them quickly leave together.

In Bubble's memory, a montage plays showing Memory Bubble being sidelined while Simulation Bubble spends time with Memory Match and Memory Ruby, with them taking photos at the Mega Mall, then walking across an orange sunset beach. Simulation Bubble tells them she's glad they're friends again, and Match agrees that nothing will ever separate them again. Suddenly, Simulation Blocky, Spongy, and Woody arrive. Blocky urges Simulation Bubble to come with them now, but she refuses, saying she's learned it's important to speak her mind or risk hurting others, and herself. However, before she can finish, Blocky pops her and teleports away.

In Taco's memory, Simulation Flower asks if Simulation Taco wants friends, but Taco insists she's fine with her life. Suddenly, Simulation Blocky, Spongy, and Woody arrive, with Blocky looking for Lollipop. They're confronted by Simulation Lollipop and multiple Lollipop clones from everyone's memories. Lollipop asks them if they like her team, and Spongy and Woody panic. The camera pans to the portal at the top of a cliff. Blocky runs for it, chased by the Lollipops, who trample Spongy and Woody. Meanwhile, Taco hands shovels to Flower and Gelatin, instructing them to dig through the bottom of the pillar supporting the portal before she teleports out of her memory.

As Blocky climbs the cliff alongside a Lollipop clone, he tries to punch her, only to hurt himself, since only a memory can harm a memory. Just then, the cliff shakes from the digging below. Debris falls toward the Lollipop. She pulls out Fork Repellent to defend herself, but it fails, and she's crushed to death. The remaining clones witness her death. Simulation Lollipop warns them that's what will happen if they fail, and orders them to chase Blocky. The Lollipops obey and begin climbing, while Simulation Lollipop silently grieves her fallen duplicate.

In the real world, whistling is heard before Profily opens the door and finds the others lying unconscious. They rush to Bubble, trying to wake her, but get no response. Frustrated and lonely, Profily says they want their friends back and claims to know who's responsible. They pull Bubble's wire, popping her, then frown and mutter that they need someone else to cheer them up.

Profily and Bubble

Profily: "I'm bored. I want my lovely friends back!"

Back in Taco's memory, Blocky is scaling the cliff, hopping from rock to rock. Two Lollipop clones behind him are crushed to death, and Blocky smugly continues his climb, though more clones are still in pursuit. Meanwhile in the real world, Profily now stands next to Flower and Gelatin, both unconscious, as they claim they've always been their best friends and it's time to wake up and play. Profily pulls Gelatin's wire, and at the same time in Taco's memory, Flower and Gelatin, who are digging near the top of the cliff, glitch and disappear. Their shovels bounce wildly, cracking through the cliff rock.

Blocky nears the cliff's edge, clinging on with one hand. He uses the other to buy a Yellow Face Drill with Lollipop's credit card. A drone delivers the drill, and Blocky uses it to burrow into the cliff face for a stable hold. In the real world, Profily pulls on Woody's wire, begging him to wake up. In Taco's memory, Woody is lying next to Spongy when Taco arrives, dragging the spring from earlier. She asks for their help, and Woody sits up, until Profily unplugs his wire, making Woody glitch out and vanish. Blocky, still climbing, tells Spongy to stop Taco instead.

Spongy envisions a thought bubble where Blocky fills him with water via a hose until he explodes, causing Spongy to frown. So, instead of obeying Blocky, he helps Taco lift the spring into place. Back in the real world, Profily now moves on to Spongy, pulling at his wire too. Meanwhile, in the memory, Taco jumps on the spring and launches into the air. Just as she soars toward the portal, Spongy glitches out and disappears. Blocky watches from his drill-hole in disbelief as Taco lands near the portal and walks toward it. In the real world, Profily aggressively yanks Taco's wire. Just before Taco can reach the portal, she glitches out and fades away.

Back in Taco's memory, Blocky quietly walks toward the portal, but one of the Lollipop clones grab his leg. As they climb up, Blocky uses his drill to break the ledge they're hanging onto, sending them crashing to the ground. This shocks the real Lollipop, who begins climbing up the tunnel Flower and Gelatin dug. Just as Blocky nears the portal, Lollipop digs up from beneath him and attacks. She pushes him to the cliff's edge with her shovel, claiming the credit card is hers.

In the real world, Profily considers unplugging Loser but decides against it because he lied. They approach Blocky and Lollipop too, but chooses not to wake them either, calling them “two very mean people”. Still lonely, Profily tries to decide who's the least mean. Back in the memory, Blocky and Lollipop fight at the cliff's edge, with Lollipop nearly shoving him off. Blocky catches himself with his foot, while Profily begins tugging at an unseen wire. Just as Lollipop pushes Blocky again, Profily unplugs her, causing her to glitch in the memory. Lollipop panics and runs toward the portal but glitches away at the last moment. Blocky then calmly steps forward and jumps into the portal, launching himself back into the real world.

Profily, sitting by Lollipop's now unconscious body, smiles when they see Blocky's return and asks him to play with them. Blocky brushes them off, saying he's busy before rushing to the Steam Train (briefly seen by Price Tag from Yellow Face & Taggy's Warehouse), before riding to the Pillary Ruins. There, Blocky runs into Four, who is about to recover the other post-splitters. Blocky tries to stop him, but it's too late, and everyone is recovered.

Lollipop laughs before rushing to the couch, and Blocky, frustrated, punches her from behind. The two slap each other as Taco lifts the couch cushion, but the credit card is gone. Both stop fighting, and Blocky insists that's where Lollipop lost it. Lollipop admits she never checked, meaning someone did steal it. She begs Four to take them back into their memories to find the culprit, but Four refuses, reasoning since it was lost and not stolen, it's fair game. Lollipop collapses to her knees in defeat, crying. Taco walks off as Gelatin looks on sadly, and Taco says she hopes that whoever did find it is having a good time.

The scene cuts to Match and Ruby in a store. Soda Bottle, the cashier, tells them their total is $34,927 before asking how they'll be paying. Ruby mentions that the van funds she has won't be enough to cover the cost, but Match confidently slams Lollipop's Yellow Face Silver Standard Gold Credit Card on the counter, saying to put it on “her” card. The cashier looks at the name and, mistaking Match for “Lollipop” due to her candy-like match head and stick body, agrees. The card is swiped, with Match and Ruby cheering as the purchase goes through.

Match and Ruby

Back with the rest of the post-splitters, Four double-checks everyone has been recovered before leaving. Taco suggests heading back to the studio since it's better than this “dump”, and Lollipop agrees, hoping her card is there. Taco replies she doubts it, but they all leave anyway.

Meanwhile, Loser, who was mistakenly plugged into Four's wire, finds himself glitched into Four's memories. He appears during TPOT 6, watching Four and X leaving the hotel, and among the contestants, spots Cake, Coiny, and Winner. Moved by the sight of Winner, Loser uses his tablet to travel through various TPOT episodes featuring them. In TPOT 17, he sees Winner holding a mini cereal version of themself and joins them in eating. Suddenly, Four pulls Loser out of their body and back to reality. Four tells him there's no need to thank them and disappears, though Loser wistfully says he wanted to see more of Winner.

Four then teleports to the hotel and overhears Fanny, Golf Ball, and Tennis Ball discussing Fanny's findings of One behind a closed door. Golf Ball asks if Tennis Ball could make sense of the data, but Fanny says no and urges Golf Ball to go to Two's room so she can see for herself. Four teleports there, sees Two bedridden, and notices the torn photo of them and Gaty. They examine the whiteboard, which shows glitched, cryptic messages similar to what Tennis Ball saw before. Suddenly, Fanny kicks the door open with Golf Ball and Tennis Ball behind her. They are confused to see Four, while Four turns to them.

Back in the real world, Loser tears down a Woody's Fear Destroyer International poster and draws a map to the Hotel on the back. He grabs a backpack and leaves the TV studio, determined to reunite with Winner.

Stinger[]

Meanwhile, Profily is inside the studio, curiously inspecting the wires used in the simulation. They plug in the one meant for Balloony, wondering what everyone had been doing with them, and immediately go limp. Shortly after, Lollipop enters, looking for her credit card, but freezes when she notices Profily's body, and that they also have a wire of their own. Intrigued by Profily's past, Lollipop plugs their wire into herself.

In Profily's memory, Lollipop travels through scenes of the Plains, the Grasslands, and finally reaches the beach, where Memory Profily, Memory Balloony, and Memory Teardrop are playing together. Profily asks if either of them want to join TPOT, then leads them to a flying machine. While Teardrop follows Profily, Balloony runs off to say goodbye to everyone first.

Profily and Teardrop ascend on a ladder, but Profily notices Balloony entering the wrong flying machine: the Announcer Transportation Device. Profily yells down that he's on the wrong one and to get out. Inside, Balloony panics and bangs on the door, saying he made a mistake, but Announcer insists they mustn't make any delays. The device takes off with Balloony inside, while Profily and Teardrop simply shrug. Watching silently from above is Simulation Lollipop, perched on the ladder, unsure what to think.

Back in the real world, Taco discovers Lollipop plugged in and quickly calls someone. The scene cuts to the kitchen, where X answers the phone. Taco asks for Four, but X says he doesn't know where they are. After hearing about the situation, X teleports to the TV studio to help.

Trivia[]

  • "BFB 31" was shown at Vidcon 2025 making it the first episode to premiere somewhere else besides meetups.
  • This is the first episode to have 2 titles in its title: "TPOT 18" and "BFB 31".
  • This marks the first time, chronologically, the Battle for BFB cast (minus Profily, Teardrop, Bubble, Ruby, Firey, and Leafy) have physically appeared since "Chapter Complete". It also marks their first appearances in Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.
  • This is Two's third non-speaking appearance in TPOT.
  • This episode continues the trend of every TPOT episode with a theatrical release being a multiple of 6.
  • This is the only TPOT episode to not have "Gibberish!" as the theme song as well as the preceding yell, as this episode uses an altered BFB intro.
    • It has been at least 1,534 days since BFB's intro was last fully played since “Chapter Complete”.
      • Although, if one counts "Seasonal Shift", in which it briefly plays before Donut attacks Four, it would then be 171 days since.
  • This is the first full episode that Florence Chapell is a writer for, having previously written the short "Plan Dissolve Adhesive" and the non-canon subscriber shorts.
  • This is the first TPOT episode since TPOT 6 to have new recommended characters.
  • Bubble's voice is notably deeper and less exaggerated than it was during Battle for BFB, similar to her voice back during BFDI-BFDIA.
  • This is the second TPOT episode that has an alternate intro instead of the usual TPOT intro, following "Out Of The Blue".
  • In Four's memory of TPOT 6, Marker can be seen in his original purple, despite other flashbacks showing him as having retroactively always been green. This may be an error, but it is also possible that Four's memories, like Black Hole's, are immune to the timeline shifts, or that One also gave Four the memories of the original like she did with the contestants.

Continuity references[]

Cultural references[]

  • The title is likely a riff of fan-made episodes/creepypastas that use the numbering format of BFDI (i.e. BFDI 26: Flower's Revenge).
  • The sound effects when Lollipop opens the mailbox and finds Four inside are all from Toontown Online. They're the mailbox opening, Foghorn windup, and the Peanut Butter and Jellyfish respectively.
  • Multiple sounds from Wii Play are used throughout the episode.
    • The sound effect of a character posing into a bubble from Pose Mii is used for many sound effects, specifically Bubble and her memory jumping up and down, Bubble jumping onto the Supervan, and all the contestants being disconnected from their memories.
    • Loser's call with Four uses sound effects from Find Mii, where the call sound is the select sound effect, and the hang up sound is the wrong answer sound effect.
  • When Blocky is requesting Spongy's help, a flashback is shown, showing Blocky filling up Spongy with a hose. The animations that follows is likely a reference to the intro of the Nickelodeon Show SpongeBob SquarePants, where the protagonist who shares the same name, sucks up the bath water and fills up with an animation almost identical to Spongy.
  • At 21:30, Taco reaches her hand out while walking towards the portal, this mimics Inanimate Insanity S2E12, where the similarly named character Taco does the same thing near the start of the episode.
  • The go kart Blocky drives in his mansion strikingly resembles the Standard Kart from the Mario Kart games.
  • When Blocky is running towards the Have Cots' tower, his running sound effects are those of Mr Krabs walking in SpongeBob SquarePants.
  • The lightsabers that Blue Ball claps his hands with are a reference to the Star Wars franchise.
