A remake of BFDIA 5b was first announced on June 21, 2025 during the VidCon 2025 QnA panel by Cary Huang as the first question asked.

Very little is currently known about the game, including specifics on a release date or platform.

Um... Well, there is good news on the way about 5b, it's in the works!

I really think that 5b came at a time where I was like "you know, as a creator you always want to pivot and try new things." So we've been animating for over like, over 3 years at that point. And at that point I was like "My whole life I've loved video games on Newgrounds like Achievement Unlocked or... Roller Coaster Tycoon", so we were- I was trying to branch into games and that was a brief stint into that, so it's coming back!

In 2013, we decided to make an episode just be a game, and this guy is now a center of how it's being made in 2025.

Trivia

• This will be the first BFDI-related game developed since the original Adobe Flash version of BFDIA 5b in 2013.
• This game was indirectly hinted towards in a now-privated livestream video of Cary Huang playing Roblox on Humany streamed on June 11, 2025, where Cary mentions that he is working on a game that he cannot say much about. It is unclear whether this is mentioned in the two edited videos of said stream posted on the channel.

Confirmed events between BFDIA 5a and BFDIA 5c

• Book finds Match trapped in a tiny box.
• Lego Brick, Waffle, and Tune are found inside Evil Leafy.
• Book, Match, and Pencil meet up with Golf Ball, Tennis Ball, and Rocky.
• Gelatin and Firey get eaten by Evil Leafy, but they are not seen by Book.
• FreeSmart regroups and almost finds their way out of Evil Leafy.
• Golf Ball, Tennis Ball, Rocky, Gelatin, and Firey do not escape Evil Leafy before she gets crushed.

Speculation

• The remake may have news shared or potentially a release date on March 4, 2026; as March 4 was the original release date of a now-cancelled update to the game that would have added a level editor in 2013.
• Members in the 5b Discord such as Tweezie, Ispawned & ''a'' Have all speculated the following things;
  • The remake could introduce Bubble, Pencil, and Ruby as playable characters since they were scrapped from the original release.
  • Get Well Card might appear in the remake, considering they're the only first placing recommended character to not appear in the original 5b.
  • The characters in the remake might be different, considering that Golf Ball, Rocky, Nickel, Bomby, and Yellow Face all appeared in the first level during We're Not Friends.
    • Alternatively, there could be bonus levels focused on their escape during We're Not Friends. These could be what the 33 "B levels" are.
      • The bonus levels could instead focus on Golf Ball, Tennis Ball, Rocky, Firey, and Gelatin, as they were never seen inside Evil Leafy despite them getting eaten.
