We thought it would be only 4 or 5 pixels, but look at this!
|
|
To recap, r/place was an experiment done by Reddit where a giant canvas was made, and every user could change a tile only after 5 minutes.
|
|
So fun!

In the upper right of the canvas, work is already getting started on Firey from BFDI.
|

According to my calculations, around 100 people are working together here. Your cooperation skills are incredible!

That's Reddit showing support for our country in dire times. In fact, now the flag's largest feature of r/place, and it just reached the background of Firey and Leafy!

Firey and Leafy are the last drawings to succumb to the Ukrainian flag.

Firey gets a border around his square, ensuring a layer of security and protection.

Now look at this blue box! Fans have created Bow from Inanimate Insanity below the r/BuildTheEarth Minecraft community.

Cary wakes up and creates a Humany video of his first impressions of playing r/place. Music artist, SLVT's nametag gets overwritten by the new, colorful "BFDI" text.

The Armenian flag to the right of Firey falls to r/BruceDropEmOff's DEO text.

Look at that yellow box. Some sources say these drawings are TWOW heads. I'm not sure if this is true, but perhaps it is!

The United States goes to sleep, increasing the risk to BFDI drawings, since the US is the largest audience of BFDI.

In the pink box, as more artwork is allowed on the Ukrainian flag, a white-outlined rat is drawn above a rainbow road.

Next, in the pink box BFDI fans draw Marker between the rat and the rainbow!

What? This is crazy! It's the dead of night across the US, which would typically be very scary if you were playing Five Nights at Freddy's. But Firey and Bow here, are defending themselves flawlessly!

In the pink box, Marker is destroyed in an effort to clean up the Ukrainian flag. (muffled) I'm like, not even offended. That's a good call.

In the teal box, BFDI speaker boxes begin to be drawn near the upper right. Not far from where Firey #1 was.

In the teal box, an Among Us crewmate transforms into the classic gray Announcer speaker box. Is he the impostor?

No more awkward silence, we all know the answer is yes!

After 27 hours, the canvas doubles in width. Fans create four new pictures. Green's got Lightbulb, Purple's got Teardrop, Orange has Leafy 2, and Pink has Rainbow TWOW.

In the green box, there was a second chessboard. Fans add Golf Ball to the tile a7.

In the green box, mini versions of two Inanimate Insanity characters (Paintbrush and MePhone) are added to the same chessboard tile as Golf Ball!

In the purple box, now, the sub-Teardrop basement contains four mini-BFDI characters.

In the pink box, the Vietnamese flag begins expanding, taking over territory from the TWOW community.

In the yellow Box, a beautiful picture of Peru's Machu Picchu begins expanding.

In the red box, AnimationObjectShow's Pizza gets destroyed.

In the purple box, Bracelety appears to the right of Teardrop, overwriting the TARDIS.

In the green box, due to xQc's audience using purple to destroy artwork, neighboring communities convince the BFDI community to change Yoyleland's grass color from purple to blue.

In the purple box, BFDI artists add Pen, Ice Cube and Saw to the Teardrop corner, increasing its population from 6 to 9.

In the green box, as most of the United States is sleeping, Yoyleland is almost taken over by another mysterious blue force. Are we going underwater?

In the purple box, Teardrop's corner is destroyed by an expanding Spanish flag. Pen, Saw, Pin, and others will never be seen on the face of r/place ever again.

In the green box, Lightbulb is erased by "Koibu's K", which is the logo of popular Dungeons and Dragons professional Dungeon Master Koibu.

In the green box, Inuyasha above Yoyleland recovers with a small but dedicated community, showing off impressive synchronization as they place their pixels exactly every 5 minutes.

In the green box, attemps are made to revive II Lightbulb in her original location (to the right of Yoyleland), but Koibu's K prevails.

In the red box, as Firey #3 nears his 2-day birth moment, he is destroyed by Twitch streamer Deansocool, who gets their audience to write "MDM" in the place that Firey 3 once stood.

Twitch streamer xQc's audience of 200K+ blacks out a large region of the Central Alliance, including the BFDI Firey square.

Almost instantly, the BFDI fanbase starts rebuilding Firey in the same place.

Staying up late, Cary offers a guide for how to make Firey look pointer again.

In green, Inanimate Insanity fans try to draw Lightbulb on top of the NFL team r/Chargers, causing a small dispute.

In a dramatic act of sabotage, Lightbulb moves to hold a weapon against Bubble and Leafy, who put their hands up in fear.

In red, in the lower-right corner, OSC animator and YouTuber CoolcidProd builds their character Wacom and streams it online. It survives!

In a poetic twist, the r/place canvas ends up the same way it began: entirely white.
