The BFDI DDS is a handheld game console that first appears in "A Leg Up in the Race" as a prize given to the final twelve contestants remaining in the competition. It features twelve screens for gameplay, hence the name "DDS," which stands for "dodeca-screen." The console is also foldable, as shown when it wraps into four sections around Match.

Appearance

In BFDI, BFDIA, and TPOT 14, the BFDI DDS is a thin board with 12 tiny screens, a D-pad, a circle pad, and multiple other buttons. The buttons are outlined in gray and colored white.

In BFB, the console is colored deep purple instead of white, matching the background objects' color scheme. The design itself remains mostly unchanged, except for the D-pad and circle pad swapping places.

In TPOT 15, the console retains its original design but with more detail and additional buttons on the controls. Two cameras are also added on the second and third sections. This design more closely resembles the Nintendo 3DS.

Coverage

The BFDI DDS first appears in "A Leg Up in the Race", where the final twelve contestants receive them as prizes.

Chronologically, its next appearance is in "Spore Day", where one can be seen inside the Birdhouse at the end of the episode.

The BFDI DDS is also part of Cloudy's collection, appearing in the episodes "Getting Teardrop to Talk", "This Episode Is About Basketball", "Return of the Rocket Ship", "The Four is Lava", "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", "Outbreak At Stake", "Oneirophobe's Nightmare", and "Seasonal Shift".

In "I SAID CAREFUL!!!", several BFDI DDS consoles are seen scattered in the debris caused by the storm.

In "Seasonal Shift", when VR Headset is temporarily the host, he gives a BFDI DDS to Liy during Cake at Stake.

• The BFDI DDS is a parody of the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo 3DS, dual-screen handheld gaming consoles made by Nintendo.
• The game shown on its screens is "Get To The Top Although There Is No Top!" (GTTTATINT), a Flash game created by the Huang twins.
  • The version shown in the episode is either GTTTBTIAT or GTTTBTIAT Easy Edition, as indicated by the thicker walls on the sides.
  • One of the playable versions of GTTTATINT features BFDI characters.
• The console also appears in "Lick Your Way to Freedom" as a recommended character named "Handheld," recommended by ThePlungeTakers.
• According to the Official Character Guide, Match has an irrational fear of handheld gaming devices, likely referencing how the BFDI DDS folded itself around her in "A Leg Up in the Race".
