Cold open[]

Winner and Basketball watch as Robot Flower attempts to push the Recovery Center into an incinerator; Basketball briefly explains to Winner what Robot Flower's doing and then tries to bring up what happened between Winner and Clock, but is interrupted by Yellow Face who shows off his new legs given to him "fair and square" by Ice Cube. Ice Cube slides across the grass with Donut, who both refute that statement. Yellow Face then offers Donut the same limb-stealing gumball he gave to Ice Cube. Donut anxiously tries to get Yellow Face to leave him alone by saying he can't close his mouth, but Yellow Face disregards this and calls for backup to make Donut swallow the gumball. Four, Golf Ball, Pen, Bottle, Needle, Winner, Basketball, Bell, and Pin all gang up to force feed the gumball to Donut by forcing his mouth to close, making his arms disappear and reappear on Yellow Face. Donut freaks out, asking where his arms went. Yellow Face begins to taunt the now armless Donut, joking that he doesn't know where his arms are. Ice Cube slides by again, telling Donut that she warned him. Yellow Face then jokingly states that Donut can have his arms back if he grabs them, knowing that he can't because he no longer has arms. Donut exclaims that he wants his arms back, starting the intro.

Cake at Stake[]

Two introduces the Cake at Stake, starting with Just Not because they destroyed the rollercoaster last challenge. They are joined with the failed debuters who are glued to the hotel to become its new roof. Clapboard demands for them to be unglued and Discy tries to escape by cutting through the glue and resorts to begging for help, but is told by Nickel not to interrupt their Cake at Stake. Discy tries to continue, but is interrupted by the Cake at Stake song.

Clapboard continues demanding to be unglued, but Two simply makes a glue pun in response and decides to make the glue today's prize. Pillow, Price Tag and Nickel are safe, but when Two throws them their prizes, Yellow Face steals all of them and taunts Nickel for not having arms; Pillow threatens him in response. Two then opens Book and slaps the glue inside one of her pages as she is safe.

Then down to the final two. Two makes two very unfunny glue puns and is subsequently booed by Bomby and Cake. Two apologizes and declares Bomby to be the last to be safe and Cake to be eliminated. Before Bomby can catch his prize, Yellow Face steals it again and tries to high five to Cake, but Cake is saddened by his elimination and begins to give his exit speech about how fun being on Just Not was, but right before he finishes his sentence, Two accidentally smashes Cake to death in an attempt to eliminate him, saying they forgot to turn their teleporting power on.

Bottle asks The S! if they're worried about Yellow Face's current obsession with stealing people's limbs. Ice Cube responds saying she wants revenge and Rocky nods in agreement. Winner and Yellow Face are safe, but Yellow Face catches both globs of glue, telling Winner if they had hands, they could grab the glue quicker. Winner attempts to threaten Yellow Face by showing off their arm, but realizing an arm like that could be useful, Yellow Face offers the limb-stealing gumball the Winner, much to Winner's concern.

Bottle is safe and Two throws a glob of glue at her. Bottle briefly celebrates and tries to leave to go back to the Yoyle Pit, but falls off the building and shatters on impact.

Ice Cube and Rocky are the bottom two. Ice Cube slides over to Two, to which Two asks her for personal space, but Ice Cube explains that she can't control it after losing her legs. Two then Declares Ice Cube safe and pushes her into Rocky. Upset at his elimination, Rocky flutter jumps into the air and barfs somewhere off-screen, but is immediately stopped by Two, who doesn't want another situation like Lightning's elimination.

Book says she feels bad for Rocky since this is the third time he's been eliminated. Nickel adds by saying it's been so long he's been eliminated, that it's something worth celebrating and they should all high-five. It's then revealed that Rocky's barf landed in the volcano, causing it to slightly crack.

After Cake at Stake[]

Black Hole tells Fanny to revive Tree already, and Fanny tells Black Hole to give her a break. Fanny then attempts to recover Tree, but nothing happens. Black Hole becomes confused, but Marker says that it just needs his "special touch". Marker also attempts to recover Tree, but nothing happens either. Black Hole deduces that Fanny has killed Tree forever.

Two announces that it's challenge time and Black Hole tells them about the situation with trying to recover Tree. Two assures Black Hole that Tree's probably around somewhere and calls for him, but when Tree doesn't respond, Two assumes that Tree was being rude by ignoring them, causing them to be mad at him.

Contest[]

Two explains the contest, which is to stay the balance beam standing above water, with the first two teams to have all their members die or fall into the water be up for elimination. Puffball questions how this would work for flying contestants, to which Two simply tells her that she and Black Hole are disqualified along with Tree for being absent, much to Puffball's infuriation and Black Hole's panicked dismay. Two then teleports every other contestant onto the balance beam.

Teardrop hops inside Barf Bag, making her feel stronger and prompting Donut to bring up how they killed him in the last challenge. Pin apologizes to Donut profusely, but accidentally sends him rolling across the balance beam. Several other contestants jump over him as he rolls towards them. Gaty mentions that if everyone keeps jumping over Donut, he's going to roll off the other side. Coiny tells Barf Bag to use her new strength to throw someone to the other side of the beam. Coiny then mimics Pin's voice to sound like she's volunteering to be thrown, to which Pin is confused but admits she's heroic and prompts Barf Bag to throw her, but Barf Bag overshoots. Pin flies across the planet and Firey and Leafy make a cameo on an unknown island. Pin then finally lands on the other side of the balance beam and catches Donut in the nick of time. Donut is angered by Pin's lack of care, while Pin merely tells him to stop being so desperate and "needy", but this prompts Needle to attempt to slap Pin for "calling her needy", however she ends up slapping Gaty off the beam instead.

TV explains that since Puffball is disqualified, they're lucky they have a numbers advantage over most teams. Golf Ball proposes two of them leave to sabotage the other teams. Tennis Ball agrees with this and begins explaining the idea, but realizes Golf Ball left on Puffball without him. Tennis Ball is saddened by this, but is cheered up by Pen telling him he can hang with them instead. Eraser suggests they ride TV across the balance beam to knock everyone off. TV agrees with this idea and Tennis Ball adds that they could modify TV to make him more durable and less prone to slipping, but before he can continue, Robot Flower comes by and shoves TV off the balance beam.

Basketball walks in demanding her team help her fix Robot Flower, but Bell explains to Basketball that Robot Flower might be more helpful in her current state. Basketball argues with Bell saying this isn't Robot Flower and that she shouldn't be okay with this, but Bell reminds Basketball that this whole situation is her fault, making Basketball decide that fixing Robot Flower is her job and attempts to get Robot Flower to stop, but is immediately killed by her.

Nickel has a brief moment of panic and asks Book what their next strategy is going to be. Book says that she's a balancing guidebook, but they can't research anything because Two glued her shut. In response, Pillow pulls out an easel containing her own research and tells everyone their strategy should be hanging below the balancing beam. Everyone except Pillow does as said. Bomby questions this. Pillow responds saying half her studies have been proven wrong and there's something else she wants to try. Pillow hops over to Robot Flower and begins asking her questions regarding her violent tendencies, but Robot Flower just squashes her in response, causing Pillow to fall off the Balance beam. Book then claims Pillow has doomed them all.

Tennis Ball, Pen and Eraser all run to the far left side of the balance beam in search of Teardrop. Eraser asks Team8s where Teardrop has gone, but Coiny doesn't care and orders everyone to attack Eraser. In defense, Tennis Ball picks up Pen and uses him as a sword to make Coiny fall off the balance beam. Eraser continues asking where Teardrop is and Barf Bag fearfully tells him she doesn't know where she is. Tennis Ball concludes Barf Bag is telling the truth and that attacking Teardrop head-on isn't the best idea. Pen says that Eraser might be right, it's three against one and if they can knock Teardrop off, they'll only have one more team to knock off. Tennis Ball says in theory it sounds good, but he doesn't foresee it being possible unless Teardrop was hindered in some way. Eraser gets angry again, wondering where Teardrop could be hiding. It then shows Teardrop's worried face inside Barf Bag.

Black Hole reminds Fanny that their team is down to two participants as he is disqualified and Tree is missing. Fanny retorts being happier every time Black Hole blames her for Tree's absence. Marker attempts to defuse the situation by telling them they're both right and to just stop fighting. Donut joins in the conversation offering to form a pact to not knock each other off as he and Pin and stuck away from their team, but Fanny seems to be oblivious. Donut is confused and tries getting her attention; Fanny apologizes and tells him she knows what happened to Tree. It then pans over to Tree, who is now limbless and canal-bound. Black Hole frantically asks him how this happened. Tree explains that when Teardrop brought life back to his corpse and was recovered by Fanny, he was recovered back to the location of his body. Donut states that it makes losing his arms look good in comparison and Marker likes him this way as now he's "big and strong".

Bottle suggests that she and Winner go after teams with only a few members with Death P.A.C.T. Again in mind. Winner agrees with this and begins walking off, but when Bottle doesn't follow them, realizes she's glued to the balance beam. Yellow Face then starts to advertise his own brand of glue to Bottle and Winner saying to not buy it as it is very ineffective and has caused the deaths of a few customers. Winner questions Yellow Face as to why he's telling them this and Yellow Face says that unlike his glue, the glue Robot Flower used to glue the failed debuters to the roof is near indestructible and offers to glue Winner as well. Bottle asks Yellow Face why he glued her instead of Ice Cube, as she could really need it after losing her legs. Yellow Face responds by demonstrating that he wanted to throw Ice Cube at Bell and make them both fall off the balance beam.

Golf Ball and Puffball fly over to Tree, calling him hideous. Golf Ball then starts slapping Tree and asking if it hurts, to which Tree says that it does hurt. Black Hole starts defending Tree, which gives Puffball the idea to start pretending to kill Tree in order to make Death P.A.C.T. Again give up what they're doing. Black Hole attempts to get them to leave them alone saying that their team no longer cares about preventing death, which doesn't convince Golf Ball nor Puffball. Puffball starts to slam herself against Tree, to which Tree asks if they care about the environment at all. Black Hole, despite knowing that his team only has two competing members tries to convince his team to go stop Puffball, causing Marker to jump off the balance beam and disqualify himself. Golf Ball and Puffball laugh at how their plan worked and leave Tree alone. Black Hole, seeing Fanny upset at being the last competitor on her team, reminds her that Pin and Donut promised to keep her safe. Fanny anxiously asks Pin and Donut which team they should go after, to which Pin and Donut menacingly grin at her, implying that they're going after her next. Fanny frustratingly states that she hates when people betray a pact (within reason).

A yoyle-metal Snowball tells Grassy to show him what he's been working on, to which Grassy runs over to The S! and kicks Bottle, shattering her. Snowball is impressed and runs over to Team8s to knock Barf Bag off the balance beam. The splash sends Teardrop, who is now covered in vomit, back onto the balance beam. Snowball asks Teardrop if she's okay before then asking Two what would happen if Teardrop gets knocked off. Two responds saying since Teardrop is the only member of her team, losing the challenge would mean automatic elimination. Upon hearing this, Robot Flower tries to knock off Teardrop, but Snowball blocks her way and gets Grassy to knock Robot Flower off. Snowball shows empathy after seeing Teardrop in her weakened state and lets Grassy decide whether to help her or knock her off. Grassy decides to help Teardrop.

Fanny tries to get away from Pin and Donut, but Pin blocks her way. Fanny tries to convince them to let her go as her team has been through enough, but Donut retorts saying that it hasn't been easy for anyone seeing as he lost his arms and gets Pin to silence Fanny by pulling her mouth off. Fanny's mouth lands on Winner and makes them fall off, but Fanny's mouth remains on the balance beam. Pin and Donut surround Fanny, and Black Hole comes back telling them that they made a pact and that they should swear by it. Pin said that she and Donut offered, but neither Fanny nor Black Hole agreed, and pushes Fanny off. Two states that Death P.A.C.T. Again is up for elimination, to which Fanny is mad about.

Winner comes out of the water annoyed, Two approaches them, trying to bring up Clock, but Winner interrupts them saying that they didn't ask them and that they don't want to deal with Clock anymore as he treated them differently just because they used to be famous. They say that Two is also giving them a special treatment, saying that they want to be treated like everyone else. Winner goes to recover everyone who died, telling Two to not follow them.

Needle finds Just Not hanging below the balancing beam and asks them what they're doing down there. Nickel tries to get her to go away, prompting Needle to kick him in the face. Bomby goes in defense of Nickel, but is knocked into the water by Needle. Book then grabs Needle's feet, but Needle is able to get her off and accidentally launches her at Pin, knocking them both off the balance beam. This angers Needle and she proceeds to start chasing after Nickel and Price Tag, who both retreat due to not having arms.

Two is talking with Gaty about Winner. Two says they just saw how Clock was devastated in his elimination and they just wanted to help. Gaty understands, but she tells Two that sometimes people just need space. She uses Book as an example of how she told her to leave her alone, Book respected that and now it's easier to see her around at challenges. Gaty also says that the distance between Two and Four also helped. Gaty suggests Two to give Clock and Winner some time to fix the thing and tell them to don't try to rush them. Suddenly, Basketball appears saying Winner recovered them and she revived Robot Flower, hoping she'd be back to normal, to which Two is curious, but Robot Flower then sets Basketball on fire, causing both Two and Basketball to scream and Gaty to leave in fear.

Back with Just Not, Needle is still chasing Nickel and Price Tag, when suddenly Yellow Face appears in front of Needle after seeing Nickel and Price Tag running for an unfair fight. Yellow Face fights Needle with his new limbs and bites Needle's arm, causing her to fall into the water.

Nickel thanks Yellow Face for saving him and Price Tag. Yellow Face tells Nickel that there's no need to call him "heroic, strong and brilliant", but when Nickel says he never thought of saying that, Yellow Face gets mad and throws Nickel off the balance beam. Price Tag frantically tells him he's "heroic, strong and brilliant" in order to avoid being thrown off as well. This satisfies Yellow Face.

Eraser accuses Snowball of hiding Teardrop from them and Pen decides it's time to knock her off the balance beam, but is stopped by Snowball defending her per Grassy's decision. Tennis Ball tries to reason with Snowball saying that Teardrop is immensely powerful and it could be their last chance to defeat her. Eraser also tries to reason with Snowball saying that one of them might go next if they don't take Teardrop down. Snowball declares that if they want to harm Teardrop, then they'll have to go through him and Grassy. Eraser mockingly says he's scared of Grassy, but is quickly humbled when Grassy starts attacking him. Meanwhile, Snowball is trying to prevent Pen and Tennis Ball from getting to Teardrop. Tennis Ball announces to Pen that he has an idea to just fall off the balance beam and pull Snowball with them. Pen agrees with this idea and they both pull Snowball off the beam while sacrificing themselves. Snowball tells Grassy to get out of the danger zone since he's their last member, to which Grassy obliges. Tennis Ball tells Eraser that this is his chance to get Teardrop, followed by Pen giving encouragement. Eraser finally gets to Teardrop and begins telling her how all good things must come to an end, but upon seeing Teardrop in her weakened state, Eraser feels sympathy and offers to help her up, but is quickly betrayed by Teardrop, with her shoving him off the balance beam. Two then declares Are You Okay being up for elimination, which causes Golf Ball and Puffball to cry hysterically.

As Two is telling viewers to vote for a contestant to save, Marker interrupts them saying technically Fanny didn't fall off as her mouth is still on the balance beam. Two is not sure about it, saying it seems like a technicality, but Black Hole and Marker immediately complain, making Two announce that Death P.A.C.T. Again is still in the game due to Fanny's mouth.

Puffball is mad at Teardrop for making her team lose and starts to chase after her, but when Teardrop trips, Puffball hits Grassy instead, who gets saved by Yellow Face, who then proceeds to try sabotaging Death P.A.C.T. Again by throwing Fanny's mouth away, but her mouth hits Donut instead who's struggling to keep steady, and Price Tag finally kicks him out, making him fall, and making Team8s being the second team up for elimination.

Stinger[]

Black Hole is with a canal-bound Tree at night, who's asking to be chopped down in order to get out of the canal. Black Hole rejects this request as he's still inclined to prevent death. Tree sighs in response.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first TPOT episode not to be produced at Jacknjellify's Water Garden offices, and to instead be produced remotely, since "The Great Goikian Bake-Off." This is because Jacknjellify vacated their Summer 2023 office space at Water Garden in Santa Monica on September 30th, 2023, a day before the BFDIA episode "Intruder Alert" was released.
  • In terms of canonical chronology, this marks the first appearance of Firey since "Chapter Complete", however going by real release date it is the first time since "Intruder Alert".
  • This is the first time Firey and Leafy were seen since the stinger in "Chapter Complete".
    • This episode also makes the original BFDI finalists, Firey and Leafy their cameo appearances in TPOT, one for Firey who doesn't speak, other for Leafy who says to Pin "Hi, Pin!", rather than having main character appearances in "Chapter Complete" in Battle for BFB (Post-Split).
  • The episode's title is a play on the phrase, "balancing act".
  • This was the first time since "Fishes and Dishes" that an episode of TPOT didn't have "Goiky" in the title.
    • It is also the first time that an episode doesn't have "the" in the title since "Fishes and Dishes".
  • This is the third time someone other than Two starts the intro. The first is Four and the second is Basketball.
    • Therefore, this is the second episode a contestant starts the intro. The first is Basketball.
      • This also means that this is the third episode in a row in which someone other than Two starts the intro.
      • This also means Donut is the second contestant who starts the intro.
      • This also means Donut is the first male and the first food character to start the TPOT intro.
      • This also means Donut is the member of Team8s to start the TPOT intro.
    • Donut is the second character voiced by Michael Huang to start the TPOT intro after Four.
  • X would not be featured in this episode at all.
  • This is the second elimination for Just Not and the third elimination for The S!.
  • This episode breaks the trend of recent episodes being released every 2 months.
  • When Two puts Death P.A.C.T. Again up for elimination before they realize they are still safe by technicality, the fake votes use numbers rather than letters. A similar thing was first done in "Questions Answered".
    • It also says "comment to vote for the one person you want eliminated" instead of "comment to vote for the one person you want to save", which is a reference to the voting system before post-split BFB.
    • Coincidentally, they were both used in the 8th episode of their respective seasons.
  • This is the first TPOT episode since "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life" where the challenge isn't based on a problem that occurs earlier in the episode.
  • Yellow Face uses original BFDI limb assets.
  • The episode hit #3 on YouTube trending in the US and also hit trending in Australia and Canada.[2]
  • This is the first time Yellow Face wasn't the first one safe on The S! in Cake at Stake.
  • This is the first time Rocky has shown any reaction to being eliminated.
  • This episode marks the first time Season 2b has been referenced in a future season, with Rocky's elimination being remarked.
  • A private video is placed between TPOT 7 and TPOT 8 on the TPOT playlist. This video has been confirmed by WebzForevz to be a draft of this episode.[3]

Elimination[]

Cake’s Elimination[]

  • Cake is the third The Losers! member in a row to be eliminated, following Eggy and Clock.
  • With Cake being the first male on Just Not eliminated, Nickel and Bomby are the only male contestants on Just Not left.
  • Cake is the fourth food based contestant to be eliminated, following Pie in “The Worst Day of Black Hole’s Life”, Eggy in “The Great Goikian Bake-Off”, and Fries in the same episode where Eggy got eliminated.
  • Cake is the first (and only) male contestant voiced by Kenzie Bryant to be eliminated.
  • Cake is the tenth BFB debuter in a row to be eliminated, following Pie, Foldy, Saw, Cloudy, Naily, Remote, Eggy, Clock, and Lightning.
    • He is also the fourth male BFB debuter to be eliminated, following Cloudy in “Gardening Zero”, Clock in “The Seven Wonders of Goiky”, and Lightning in the same episode where Clock got eliminated.
  • Cake is the third The Losers! member to eliminated that wasn’t on Are You Okay or The S!.
  • Cake is the second armless contestant on Just Not to be eliminated, following Naily in “Fishes and Dishes”.
  • Cake is the third contestant whose name starts with “C” to be eliminated, following Cloudy and Clock.
    • He is also the second The Losers! member whose name starts with a “C” to be eliminated, following Clock.
    • Additionally, he is the first The Losers! member to be eliminated that wasn’t on The S!.

Rocky’s Elimination[]

  • Since Rocky is eliminated, he is the second contestant from the first two seasons to be eliminated in The Power of Two (the first being Fries, who was eliminated in "The Great Goikian Bake-Off").
    • Additionally, he is the first original BFDI contestant to be eliminated from the season.
    • Furthermore, he's also the first contestant to get eliminated in back-to-back episodes (when following episode chronology by release date, considering he got eliminated in Intruder Alert).
    • More so, he's the second member of Beep to be eliminated, meaning Nickel is the only one left from the former team.
    • Yellow Face is now the only male contestant left on The S!.
  • Rocky is the second Beep member to be eliminated that wasn’t on Just Not.
  • Rocky is the first (and so far only) contestant to be eliminated in Battle for Dream Island, Battle for Dream Island Again, and The Power of Two.
  • Rocky is the first Squashy Grapes and W.O.A.H. Bunch member to be eliminated.
  • Rocky is the fifth male contestant in a row to be eliminated, following Fries, Clock, Lightning, and Cake.

Continuity references[]

  • The contestants and Four chanting "Swallow the gumball!" is a reference to the contestants chanting "Switch!" in "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know".
  • The balance beam challenge portion of this episode is a callback to the very first episode of BFDI.
    • The thumbnail text "I need my space!" also references Flower's line during that episode's contest.
  • Firey and Leafy are seen on a different island with their boat docked following their departure in "Chapter Complete".
  • Rocky's elimination in "Intruder Alert" is referenced as being such a long time ago, even though in release order it happened less than a month prior. However, in universe, "Intruder Alert" was 10 years prior to this episode. (2013)
  • Marker calling out Two for his team being up for elimination is a reference to Match when she calls out Free Food for cheating in "Questions Answered".
    • Both the episodes this has occurred in are the eighth of their respective seasons.
  • Robot Flower trying to push the Recovery Center into the lava is a reference to the BFDI finale "Return of the Hang Glider", where her regular counterpart does the same, except she actually succeeded doing so in that episode.
  • Ice Cube leaving trails of water after sliding on the ground is a reference to "Take the Plunge: Part 2"
  • Yellow Face's first pose with Donut's arms is the pose used to start the BFB intro.
    • He even beforehand does a dance that animates similarly to Pin showcasing her new limbs in "Welcome Back".
  • Throughout Cake at Stake, Nickel is doing the same pose as Gaty in the IDFB intro.
  • This is the first episode in 7 years in canonical chronology where Needle slapped someone for calling her "Needy". The last time was in "Welcome Back".
  • Bottle retains her dying streak, even being shattered twice in the episode.
  • Donut being armless is a callback to his initial design in "The Reveal".
  • Tree is revealed to have grown sentient from his watered corpse in the previous episode.
    • The TPOT failed debuters are also still part of the hotel.
    • The recovery center failing to revive Tree due to him being elsewhere is similar to what happened with Book in "Zeeky Boogy Doog".
      • However, in Book’s case, an error was given, whereas for Tree, simply nothing happened.
  • Yellow Face asking Cake to high-five him is similar to Flower asking for one from Teardrop in "The Glistening" after she rejoins.
    • Rocky flutter-jumping before his elimination references the same episode.
  • Pillow mimics Cake during his speech, a similar thing she did to Book in the first episode of the season.
  • This is the first episode of this season to have the challenge restrict flying contestants, and the first episode to do so since "Get to the Top in 500 Steps" and "Fortunate Ben", released 5 years prior.
  • Tree also being disqualified due to not showing up references the rule in "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know" where absent players cannot compete, as well as "What Do You Think Of Roleplay?", where Saw and Clock were both excused for the same reason.
  • Barf Bag feeling buffed after Teardrop goes inside her is a nod to "Don't Dig Straight Down".
  • Donut brings up the fact that his team killed him during last episode's challenge.
  • Pin violently shakes Donut like she did with Coiny in the previous episode.
  • Coiny imitates Pin's voice, marking the third time he performs mimicry, the first two times being "No More Snow!" and "The Seven Wonders of Goiky".
  • Pin being called heroic is a reference to her Season 1-2 personality.
  • TV plays a clip of himself from "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", when he was allowed to be the host. He also plays a clip of the Announcer crying acid from "Rescission" when he is pushed off.
  • Some of the notes taken on Pillow's easel references part of the lyrics to Dora's island-eating song.
  • Pen is used as a weapon again.
  • Needle running back and forth with her arms fluttering is similar to the recommended characters from "A Leg Up in the Race".
  • The shape of Tree's head when he is initially seen in the canal resembles the foliage shape of the classic BFDI tree assets used in BFDI and BFDIA.
    • Additionally, the old tree asset was essentially Tree's primitive design prior to his appearances in IDFB onward.
  • Needle facing off Just Not slightly mirrors her showdown against FreeSmart in "Well Rested".
  • Two and Gaty are seen speaking to each other in the same place they did in "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", but now with minor expansive decoration.
  • Marker's fingers when telling Two that Fanny was split between her body and mouth are reminiscent of Pen's in "Getting Teardrop to Talk" when he illustrates how close he was with being on a team with his friends.
  • Pen saying "I know tennis balls have brains and erasers don't, but I think he's right here." is a reference to "Return of the Hang Glider" where Eraser says that he doesn't have a brain.
  • Golf Ball calculating the chances of Death P.A.C.T. Again not caring about death is a continuation of her percentage calculation running gag started in "Barriers and Pitfalls".
  • Two referring to the TPOT failed debuters stuck on the Hotel's roof as the "huge crowd watching" the Cake at Stake is a reference to "Vomitaco", "Bowling, Now with Explosions!" and "The Reveal".
  • When Yellow Face catches the glue meant for Bomby and says "Got the glue! High-five, Cakey!", Cake does the same pose as he did while whimpering in "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life".
  • When Bottle tries to go back into her pit, she sings the same song as she did in "The Seven Wonders of Goiky". * Despite Four being in the scene where everyone makes Donut swallow the gumball, their hand is not seen when everyone grabs his mouth.

Cultural references[]

  • Needle swinging Book against the beam is a reference to when Mal does the same thing to Alejandro in Total Drama All-Stars.
  • Bottle saying "glue glue, under my shoe" might be a reference to the nursery rhyme "One Two, Buckle My Shoe".

Goofs[]

  • When Needle is in panic for a few frames, she has no face.
    • However, she may just be facing backwards.
  • Despite Four and Leafy having speaking roles, they're not included in credits.
  • When Just Not high-fives, Book doesn’t have glue in her for a scene.
  • At 6:22 in the captions, the word "teammate" is misspelled as "team".
  • When Two announces that Death P.A.C.T. Again is still in the game due to Fanny's mouth, a small white dot appears in Two's right eye.
  • Sometimes when Just Not are upside-down underneath the Balance Beam, Nickel's asset is rotated incorrectly.
  • Teardrop should have lost the challenge because she was already underwater before resurfacing up to the balance beam.

Deaths[]
