— Basketball and Golf Ball to each other, "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?"
|
This article lists the interactions between Basketball and Golf Ball.
Throughout BFB, Basketball and Golf Ball often seemed to get on each other's nerve, starting when Basketball helped 8-Ball become the new team leader. After 8-Ball gives up his leadership role and later gets eliminated, Basketball and Golf Ball were on better terms. However, "What Do You Think of Roleplay?" seemingly sparked a one-sided, ongoing grudge from Golf Ball to Basketball.
Episodes suggesting a conflict[]
In "Lick Your Way to Freedom", when Golf Ball is freed from the jawbreaker, Basketball tells Golf Ball that 8-Ball is the new team captain, much to Golf Ball's surprise.
Basketball became cross with Golf Ball when she finds out that she's been disrespecting Grassy. She would start to rub 8-Ball's leadership in Golf Ball's face in "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset" and "Today's Very Special Episode".
After the events of "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", Golf Ball's disdain towards Basketball becomes a lot more apparent, presumably because she was the impostor in the episode, diminishing Golf Ball's trust in her.
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", Basketball tries to ask Golf Ball what they are supposed to be doing for the challenge, but Golf Ball won't tell her because she doesn't trust her. Later, Basketball appears hurt that Golf Ball doesn't trust her.
In "Don't Dig Straight Down", when Basketball tries to give Four one of X's emeralds, Golf Ball angrily snatches it and passes it off to Four, which upsets Basketball. When Golf Ball repeatedly blocks off all of iance's exits to the ground, Basketball figures this is her idea of having fun.
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", when Basketball asked to be on Golf Ball's team, Golf Ball's smile quickly became a frown, but she begrudgingly obliges. Golf Ball presumably calls Basketball useless, making Basketball leave to find another team, saying she knows how to solve her useless people problem. Golf Ball is not bothered by this in the slightest and is rather happy when a free spot opens up, subtly implying Basketball was one of the useless people she was referring to. When Robot Flower tells Basketball that she's impressed with how she stood up to Golf Ball, Basketball says she was being a total something, but gets cut off. Golf Ball laughs mockingly at Basketball when she's forced to have Snowball on her team. Basketball growls in response.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", when Golf Ball demands Tennis Ball to stop being distracted from the challenge after catching him chatting with The Strongest Team on Earth. about shapes, Basketball has an annoyed look on her face. Basketball then mocks Golf Ball for not caring about shapes. This hits a nerve with Golf Ball as she turns back toward Basketball stating that she does care about shapes. Tennis Ball ends up having to drag Golf Ball away, as she demands Tennis Ball to tell Basketball that she cares about shapes. This confrontation bothers Golf Ball so much that she can't stop talking about shapes even after being brought back to her team.
In "Gardening Zero", Basketball comes up to Golf Ball and sarcastically asks her if she wants to join her shape-hating club. Golf Ball, appearing uneasy, throws her bracelet around herself and teleports away from her.
In "Fishes and Dishes", Golf Ball laughs at Basketball’s breathable bubbles that she and Robot Flower built and shows off by revealing her invention, the Robotic Fish Monster. However, when she isn’t looking, Basketball’s team climbs into the robotic fish monster and steals it. Basketball teases Golf Ball, saying she shouldn’t have gotten cocky and mockingly wishes her luck as her team submerges into the Goiky Canal.
Golf Ball reluctantly decides that her team will have to use Basketball’s "pitiful" breathable bubbles for the challenge. Golf Ball is so upset over what Basketball did that she prioritizes her team following the robotic fish monster over finding the plates. As the team continues to swim, Golf Ball can’t stop talking about how angry she is at Basketball for stealing her invention, which results in her taking her anger out on Pen when he tried to help her calm down.
Neutral interactions[]
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", part of Golf Ball's plan to win is having Basketball and 8-Ball weigh the baskets down once they've got a hold of them. when Blocky is pushed off the tree by Robot Flower, Golf Ball tells someone to soften his fall and looks at Basketball, when Blocky bounces on Basketball she runs away yelling "I'm too bouncy!"
Episodes suggesting a friendship[]
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", when 8-Ball suggests having Golf Ball on their team because they are balls, Basketball does not seem to mind.
In "Lick Your Way to Freedom", Basketball can be seen yelling at Four to revive Golf Ball.
When 8-Ball steps down as team leader in "Four Goes Too Far", Basketball stopped being rude to Golf Ball and even cooperated with her in order to get rid of Four and to stop their team and from losing in "The Liar Ball You Don't Want".
In "Questions Answered", Golf Ball thinks that Basketball was referring to her as the team leader and tells her not to worry about her being eliminated.
In "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", Golf Ball asks "Basketball" who the team leader is. She answers that it's Golf Ball and Golf Ball is satisfied enough with her answer that she allows Basketball to interview the others. Basketball accidentally sings in response and Golf Ball compliments her singing. Golf Ball is later surprised to see that Basketball was actually the impostor. It's worth noting that after this episode, Golf Ball holds a grudge against Basketball that still hasn't been specifically explained.
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Basketball enthusiastically asks to be on Golf Ball's team, which she reluctantly allows.
In "Category One", Golf Ball seems worried about Basketball when she goes missing. When her Cake at Stake prize for being safe turns out to be a missing poster of Basketball, she sighs and sadly remarks "Still missing..." before asking Tennis Ball if he notices any activity,
