Episodes suggesting a friendship[]
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", when Golf Ball refuses to tell Basketball the team's plan, she asks Tennis Ball to ask Golf Ball what's their plan, Tennis Ball does so, is told to dig and he repeats the information back to Basketball.
In "The Four is Lava", Robot Flower tells Four to recover Basketball, and Tennis Ball tells Four to recover the rest of his team to fix Robot Flower.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tennis Ball spends some time with Basketball's team, The Strongest Team on Earth., talking about shapes until Golf Ball scolds him for being distracted. When Tennis Ball says he just wanted to talk about shapes. Basketball scoffs and says she can't imagine someone not caring about shapes, infuriating Golf Ball and forcing Tennis Ball to drag her away.
In "Category One", they help Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again kill all bugs on the ground floor bar one. However, the two later sabotage them to help their own team win.

In "We’re Not Friends", Basketball announces that there were 112,224 votes. Tennis Ball adds that if you add in a few operators, that becomes an equation to which Basketball only being able to say “Uh-huh”.
In "The Liar Ball You Don't Want", when Tennis Ball is shifting his eyebrows at Golf Ball again, Basketball asks if he's done and he says he's sorry. They both use Robot Flower's body to control Remote.
In "Don't Dig Straight Down", when Basketball acknowledges what Golf Ball does for fun, blocking off an underground team's attempts to surface, Tennis Ball grumpily replies "yep".
In "Oneirophobe's Nightmare", when The Strongest Team on Earth dies inside of Robot Flower's head, Tennis Ball recovers them one by one. However, when he's about to recover Robot Flower, Basketball tells him to "wait a bit on recovering her".
Episodes suggesting a conflict[]
In "PointyPointyPointy ♫", after Tennis Ball asks how they will get to Donut's island, he proclaims himself to be the only ball with lines. That left a sour taste in Basketball's mouth, and she rudely tells him to figure it out himself. This is a reference to her audition to debut in "The Reveal", where she says tennis balls aren't the only ones with lines.
In "Start the Shift", Tennis Ball, along with all the other BFDIA contestants still competing, are tired of Balloony and all the other LOLers (including Basketball)'s hosting, so they try to get rid of them by recovering Spongy and flinging him at the LOL to crush it.
In "Lick Your Way to Freedom," when Golf Ball demands that Tennis Ball stop the rest of A Better Name Than That's leadership transferal to 8-Ball, Tennis Ball says that he tried to stop them, but they would not listen. This mainly applies to Basketball, as she was the one to proclaim 8-Ball the new leader.

- In every season they have competed together, they were on the same team.
- The only exception is The Strongest Team on Earth., as Golf Ball was not happy she ended up with so many useless people (Eraser, Pen, Fries, Puffball, Basketball) in her team, so she left the team and was replaced with TV to solve Golf Ball's "useless people" problem, moving her to the The Strongest Team on Earth.
- They were the only ones that have ever fixed Robot Flower.
- Both of them and the rest of the members of their team, A Better Name Than That, have competed in TPOT, with the exceptions of 8-Ball, who was in the EXIT, and Blocky, since he was one of fourteen contestants that have stayed for Battle for BFB.
- Both were in the bottom two on their respective teams in "The Great Goikian Bake-Off".
