Spam is a type of repeated message that appears over and over. It can be done by article/user blog comments, chat, as well as images. This policy defines what is considered spam, the effects on the wiki, alongside with punishment.
What is spam?
Spam is (usually) repeated, unwanted, or otherwise disruptive messages, images, or other types of media that appears on the Battle for Dream Island Wiki. Unlike email spam, this comes in different forms.
Forms of spam
Spam generally varies, so we made a list to show what is being done.
Mainspace spam
Spam can appear in mainspace pages (articles), and this can be considered vandalism when done.
For example, a user edits the Leafy article and adds "Leafy is dumb!" several times during the article. This is considered not only vandalism, but spam.
Another form of mainspace spam is spam page creation. This is when a user creates multiple or many unwanted and unnecessary pages, usually with no information within them, in a short amount of time. Doing so, especially in bulk; can cause you to be blocked without being warned.
Comments and media spam
Spam can appear in the comments or talk of an article, as well.
For example, posting parent comments unrelated to the article or child comments unrelated to the discussion, rapidly posting multiple comments in a short amount of time, posting unsubstantial or pointless comments, or posting extremely and unnecessarily long comment(s) are all considered spam. This can earn you a warning, and if similar behavior continues, a block.
Talk pages are lesser seen on the wiki, but follow similar spam definitions as the mainspace spam. Flooding a talk page with unrelated, unsubstantial, or unnecessary messages and images is spam.
