Flower and Golf Ball at the first ever bottom two

The bottom two is a state of risk at eliminations which consists of the two contestants with the most elimination votes (or least save votes) at an elimination. Its purpose is to create a moment of suspense before revealing which contestant is safe and which is eliminated.

In terms of rejoins, debuts and others, a "top two" may also be presented in a similar fashion to create a moment of suspense before revealing the rejoining, debuting or winning contestant.

Trivia

• Golf Ball was the first ever contestant to survive at the bottom two.
  • At the same time, Flower was the first ever contestant to not survive at the bottom two.
• Bubble was the last veteran to be at the bottom two, she was for the first time in "Fashion For Your Face!".
  • She is also the only veteran to not be at the bottom two of any BFDI episode.
  • Disregarding contestant votes, Firey is the only other contestant to not be in the bottom 2 of any BFDI episode.
• Nickel is the last contestant of the first two seasons overall (BFDI, BFDIA) to be at the bottom two, he was for the first time in "Oneirophobe's Nightmare".
• Spongy has been in the bottom two the most times, at nine.
• Black Hole, Grassy, Price Tag, and Winner have yet to have been at the bottom two.
• Golf Ball and Rocky are the only contestants who've been in the bottom two in every competitive season.
  • Coincidentally, they are in the bottom two at "Lofty".
• David, despite not being a contestant at the time, received 39 votes in "Vomitaco", unofficially placing him in the bottom two with Eraser.
• "B.F.B. = Back From Beginning" is the first ever episode in which the bottom two was the same as a former episode's bottom two; Leafy and Flower were the bottom two in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2".
  • "The Great Goikian Bake-Off" technically marks the second time this has happened, as Fries and Tennis Ball were the bottom two in "🥚".
  • "Outbreak At Stake" is the first episode in which this happens twice; Puffball and Golfball were the bottom two in "Well Rested" and Needle and Coiny were the bottom two in "Puzzling Mysteries".
  • "I SAID CAREFUL!!!" marks the fifth time this has happened, as Eraser and Ice Cube were both bottom 2 in this episode and in "Vomitaco".
  • The elimination outcomes for repeated bottom twos are usually the same as well, with the only exception being Leafy getting eliminated instead of Flower in BFB 28.
• Bomby is the only contestant in the series who has been in the bottom two twice in both BFDIA and TPOT.
• Eraser, Nickel, Loser, Match, and Dora are the only contestants who consistently guaranteed to be eliminated in every single instance where they were in the bottom two.
  • This is arguably the case for Firey as he's never survived in the bottom 2 in a viewer vote. However, he survived the bottom two in "The Glistening", but this was a contestant vote.
• Tree is the only contestant to get into the bottom two three times in a row and survive.
• "Bottle For Dream Island", is the first episode in the series where the two contestants in the bottom two are both eliminated due to CloudYAY losing twice, making them lose two members (that being Pillow and Yellow Face).
