Chain reaction incidents are a running gag in BFDI and TPOT. It's caused by a person's direct actions that usually result in mass murder.

- "Don't Lose Your Marbles": Leafy throws a ball while Snowball pops Bubble. Pencil tells Snowball off for this but then gets hit by the ball. The ball hits Blocky who was holding Remote, which causes him to lose his balance and drops Remote, making her lose her batteries. The acid that came from the now killed batteries disintegrate Pencil and Snowball. Blocky falls off the platform he was on and fall onto Firey, which kills him. Firey is knocked forward by this into Ice Cube, who melts, and falls into the ocean.

- "Half a Loaf Is Better Than None" - Starts with Eraser challenging Pen to jump across a pit. Pens jumps and states that it was the easiest thing he's ever done. Eraser also tries, but ends up hanging on the edge of the pit and yells for help. Pen attempts to pull him up but ends up going across the cliff and hangs on by his feet. Pen then calls out for Blocky to help, and a chain of characters is soon formed with each character that was called out calling for another character to help them. These being Firey, Match, Pencil, Bubble and Leafy. Then Leafy calls Ice Cube for help, but she doesn't help since she wants revenge, causing the chain of contestants to die.

- "Don't Pierce My Flesh" - Starts with Flower crushing a bug on a bridge. The bridge breaks, causing her and Firey to fall into some water below. Leafy, who is attached to a rope, saves the latter and throws him back on land. This happens to hit Bomby's longer than usual fuse and the explosion causes a platform with Spongy on it to break, ending with him crushing the Announcer.

- "Getting Puffball To Think About Rollercoasters": Two placed towers of Blocks across the Grasslands. This causes Cake to be smashed. Snowball threatens to injure Two if they don't do something about it, but Two ends up leaning on a tower which causes it to crush Naily, pounding her into the ground, but not killing her. Winner catches a stack, but Tree tells them preventing death is his team's job, but then he gets crushed by a flying block. Pen, Eggy, and Barf Bag run, but a block knocks Barf Bag over, causing her barf to leak out everywhere, and causes Eggy and Pen to slip right when a tower falls on them. Rocky vomits right into Winner's face, causing them to knock down the tower they were holding up. The tower, which turns out to be Team8s glued stack, hits Tennis Ball, launching him into Robot Flower, causing her to drop a Zap Ray and hitting Teardrop. Eraser shoots the ray into the Hotel's window, causing glass to hit Two's cheesecake.

Team8's stack falls on Tennis Ball, causing him to fly away.
Tennis Ball knocks into Robot Flower, causing her to zap Teardrop.
Eraser find the "Zappy" and shoots it.
The Zap ray shoots a window on The Hotel, and glass falls down.
The glass falls on Two's Cheescake.
- "Fishes and Dishes": Teardrop leads Eraser towards a Fish Monster. Eraser steals Two's plates from the Fish Monster in the canal. He swims towards Golf Ball, Tennis Ball, and Pen, who got stuck after Tennis Ball got hit, causing him to be stuck in motion while Pen and Golf Ball are pinned against the wall by Tennis Ball hitting them. The Fish Monster eats the balls, leaving Pen and Eraser alive. The Strongest Team On Earth's Fish Monster Robot distracts it, but Tree and Marker hit Eraser and Pen back down into the canal. Robot Flower and TV self destruct the robot, but it only exploded when Eraser and Pen hit the robot.

- "What's Up Bell's String": Marker and Fanny cut down Tree. Tree's body crushes the two but launches the boat. The boat smashes Bottle causing Needle to get caught on the glass and slide down a mountain. She hits Golf Ball which launches her right into Basketball, stabbing her. Basketball is launched into TV by the impact making him catch on fire and run into Bomby's fuse, blowing him up and sending Book and Price Tag flying.

- "TWO OF THEM!? - BFDI X Inanimate Insanity 2023 Event: Happened offscreen. The only known characters to be involved were Book and Nickel.
Book asks Two to recover Nickel.
Nickel reveals that he actually survived.
