"…If you know what I mean."Tennis Ball, "Four Goes Too Far"
This article or section contains content that may not be suitable for children or sensitive individuals. Proceed with discretion.

Some characters in BFDI have What the X moments, where the character exclaims "What the" and then something related to what object the character is. For example, Snowball says, "What the flake". As a snowball is made out of snowflakes.

Many of the characters in BFDI even have "OMG" (Oh my god/gosh) moments. For example, Bracelety (Oh my grip), Bubble (Oh my bubble blower), or Pin (Oh my Pin Factory).

Black Hole[]

In "Balancing P.A.C.T.", Black Hole says "What on canal happened here?!". A canal is a man-made waterway often used for transporting water; Black Hole says this in response to seeing Tree, who has grown giant due to being stuck in water.

Eggy[]

In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Eggy says "Who the egg is that?!" after Clock mentions Winner.

Fanny[]

In "Oneirophobe's Nightmare", Fanny and Tree stumble across the Beryllium Fortress, Destruction Impossible. As Fanny reads the words sprayed on it, she says "What the air is that?".

Flower[]

In "SOS (Save Our Show)" and "Chapter Complete", after a crack in the desert opens, Flower says "What the petal was that?".

In "Lots of Mud", when Ruby tells Flower that she looks like Cary, Flower says, "Who the pesticide is Cary?"

Fries[]

In "Intruder Alert", Fries exclaims "WTF?" in response to learning that the Weak Trembling Fortress would be the new elimination area. It is unclear what exactly this is an acronym for, but it could be "What the fryer!", "What the fries!", "What the food truck!", or simply the original meaning of "WTF".

Gelatin[]

In "Well, Look Who It Is!", Gelatin says "WTF!" after realizing that he and the WTFers could just walk out of the WTF. However, this could just be him saying the acronym, "Weak Trembling Fortress".

In "How Loe Can You Grow?", Gelatin says "What the meat" in response to Four asking the contestants to improve the sun, confused how to do so. In real life, gelatin is made out of leftover boiled animal skin, bones, and horns. Not only that, but Gelatin also runs a restaurant called Gelatin's Steakhouse, which he might be referring to as well.

In "Chapter Complete", Gelatin asks "What on Four did you just do?" when Flower said something that caused the ground to shake. This is because Four himself was the one inhabiting the ground at the time.

Golf Ball[]

In "Barriers and Pitfalls", Golf Ball says "What in the spherical world was that for?!" when Tennis Ball kicks Rocky over the pole. Even though this is not a WTH, it counts as one, because "What in the world" and "What the hell/heck" are used in similar contexts.

Lollipop[]

In "Chapter Complete", Lollipop asks "What on Four's B.R.B. is going on up there?" when Four causes the Big Rotating Building to shake.

Match[]

In "The Escape from Four", Match asks when the floof did Loser combine with Four. It’s unknown what this means, but it’s probably just a joke line that isn’t meant to have much relation to Match herself.

In "Out Of The Blue", Match says, "How the matchstick factory are we EVER gonna get up, like, there?".

Nickel[]

In "Catch These Hands", Nickel says "What the penny", which may be a reference to his rivalry with Coiny, or simply because pennies are worth less than nickels.

Pen[]

In "Fortunate Ben", Pen says "What the flip" in response to Liy revealing herself. This line was used once. There is a real life object called a "flip pen" that is used for pen flipping tricks, which is likely what Pen was referring to here. It's also possible that he was referring to Liy's flipping of her own switch and face.

Pencil[]

In "Enter the Exit", Pencil says "What the Spongy". This line was used once. This might be considering that Pencil does not like Spongy, so she uses him in the line.

Pillow[]

While technically not a WTH, Pillow says "…a true indicator that the person doesn’t give a fluff!" while talking about arm waving in Getting Teardrop to Talk, as pillows are known for their fluffy texture. However, the actual storyboard for BFB 1 showed her saying "give a f**k".

Pin[]

In "Welcome Back", Pin says "What the corkboard" while asking Fries what he was doing. This line was used once. This line was used since Pin is a push pin, and push pins are placed on a corkboard to hold papers.

In "Launch Party", when Pin tries to sell her items in the basket to the recommended characters, after they left, Pin said: "What the actual PF", similar to "What the actual f**k". "PF" presumably stands for "pin factory", which is strange because "Oh my pin factory" is her personal OMG.

Price Tag[]

In "Outbreak At Stake", Price Tag says "What the sales catalog are you guys doing down there?". Sales catalogues are documents containing information about a specific product in a store. They often include the product's price.

Puffball Speaker Box[]

In "Catch These Hands", Puffball Speaker Box says "Who the fluff is Lewis?" because she is made of fluffy material.

Robot Flower[]

In "Oneirophobe's Nightmare", when Robot Flower tumbles off the hotel roof, she spots Barf Bag doing erratic exercises and movements which causes her to say "What the basketball is going on with you, Barf Bag?", referencing her current relationship with Basketball.

Snowball[]

In "Getting Teardrop to Talk" and "Questions Answered", Snowball said, "What the flake" which also means that he has had a 'WTF' moment. This line was used once in both episodes.

Stapy[]

In "Enter the Exit", Stapy says "What the fulcrum" when Clock says that he is eliminated. This line was used once.

A fulcrum is a point around which a lever pivots or rotates. It's the support or fixed point on which a lever rests, allowing it to move. In the context of staplers, the concept of a fulcrum isn't directly related. Staplers use mechanisms involving springs and hinges to apply force and drive staples into paper. The fulcrum concept is more relevant to levers and pivoting motions rather than staplers.

Taco[]

In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Taco says "What the stand" in response to their team being one of two that haven't finished. This line was used twice. She could have said this since tacos in real life, are sometimes sold at a stand.

Tree[]

While technically not a WTH, Tree's response to Four's refusal to spit Pillow back out in "Return of the Rocket Ship" is to exclaim "trunk this" before urging the rest of Death P.A.C.T. to search for Pillow inside Four's mouth.

While also technically not a WTH, Tree's response to the usage of Two's Power to mess with Four in The Escape from Four is to call it "impressive as bark".

In "Gardening Zero", Tree says "What the forest" when the jungle gets burned down; it's equally possible that he exclaimed it like “what?, the Forest!" instead.

Non-canon quotes[]

In "Thanks for 4 years of Thanks for 4 years!", Match says "What the woodsicle" which is strange since "woodsicle" is a reference to her "Oh my God" phrase (see Character OMGs for more information). This line was used once.
