Appearance

Chestnut is a small brown chestnut conker with a white face on the conker with half a green spiked capsule on their top, appearing as if it were worn like a helmet.

Personality

Chestnut is shown to be a cheerful, albeit slightly oblivious contestant. They are almost always smiling or jumping for whatever reason, and didn't notice the leaf that landed on them from Geode in "Grab A Leaf". They also didn't understand Geode's strategy in "Mow the Lawn".

Abilities

Sharp Spikes: Chestnut has sharp spikes on their capsule that are sharp enough to at least pierce leaves and shave grass.

Battle for BFDI

In "Today's Very Special Episode", Chestnut is in the crowd booing Pen's drawing of Four.

In "Return of the Rocket Ship", Chestnut is sitting on the bench behind Team Ice Cube! when the recommended characters scroll up to represent the large crowd watching.

BFDI Mini Natural

In "Grab A Leaf", Chestnut immediately starts jumping to try to grab a leaf, similar to that of Iance's strategy in "Getting Teardrop to Talk". When Geode comes by and uses Seashell to launch themself up to the top of the tree, Chestnut is stunned, impressed with their clever idea, and claps. After Geode gets knocked off the tree, Chestnut goes back to their original strategy, even after Geode spits their leaf onto Chestnut's shell, allowing them to be safe.

In "Mow the Lawn", Chestnut watches Geode climb another tree, confused, before using their spiky shell to cut the grass, granting them immunity.

In "Survive Evil Leafy", they are seen hanging out with Redcurrant and Aurora Borealis. When Evil Leafy approaches, they switch sides with Redcurrant, and start jumping, possibly trying to jump over Evil Leafy. Eventually, after Aurora Borealis fails to freeze Evil Leafy, Chestnut hops away, and ends up being safe.

In "Climb Over the Garden Wall", Chestnut tries to jump over the wall. After Beehive uses them as a platform for a shell jump, they walk away, before being launched up over the wall by Grapes using bonemeal on Spruce Tree.

In "Balance Off the Evil Canyon", Chestnut immediately starts jumping on the canyon. However, this backfires, as they break the middle of the canyon, almost instantly falling to their doom. Seashell catches them, only to immediately throw them at Spruce Tree. This causes Spruce Tree to start spinning around the canyon, creating a big wind storm, and leaves Chestnut hanging on for their life. They eventually get back up, only to be hit by Seashell and fall off, being put up for elimination.

In "Survive the Swarm of Bees", Chestnut is still falling from the last challenge. They are revealed to be eliminated at 75% of the votes, and are about to hit the spikes before being caught by two butterflies They are then carried into the sun by the butterflies.

In "3-Legged Race", Chestnut is lounging around when it is revealed to be the rejoin challenge. They are paired with Lotus Flower, and easy gets into a flow with them. The two get neck and neck with Redcurrant and Geode, but end up failing to cross the finish line in time. After Geode dies, Chestnut continues trying to walk to the finish, but Lotus Flower's defeat ends up dragging Chestnut down.

Deaths

1. "Plants VS Zombies": Turned into a zombie.

Trivia

• Chestnut is one of many sharp contestants in BFDI history, the others being Kabab, Mechanical Pencil, Naily, Needle, Pencil, Pin, Ruby (along with all 35 of her sisters), Saw and Tack.
