This article lists the interactions between Spongy, and the Coins, Nickel and Coiny
Coiny, Nickel and Spongy are a trio of characters whom often interact in Battle for Dream Island. They were formed after both Spongy and Nickel switched teams in "Get in the Van".
Episodes suggesting a friendship[]
In "No More Snow!", Coiny agrees when Nickel shouts "Please" at Spongy.
In "Well Rested", Nickel is concerned for Spongy because he's allergic to yoyle grass. Coiny seemed to be genuinely fooled when Nickel claimed to have arms. Later when Nickel suggests that they should find the biggest building since they're the biggest team, Coiny compliments Nickel by saying he's not the only "big-brained coin" on the team. Later, Coiny explains to Nickel how a cloud was a capable of forming in a building. Coiny can be seen sitting on Spongy as the team walks through Yoyle City. When W.O.A.H. Bunch comes across the spaceships, Spongy tells the team he is familiar with them. Coiny says that's amazing and asks if he's ever been inside one. Spongy thinks back to when he was used as fuel for ship and says he doesn't like talking about. Confused, Coiny just says okay.
In "Intruder Alert", Nickel asks Spongy if he has any ideas for the challenge, which he doesn't. Spongy later follows Nickel's orders when making the chamber, including adding the chainsaws. When Nickel says he wants the chamber to be as punishing as possible, Spongy asks Nickel what if he got eliminated. Nickel says that it will be worth the pain so they add Double the Crushers. When Coiny brings out drinking straws so they can drink away the water flooding the warehouse, Nickel is seen happy about this, though is startled when Coiny shoves the straws in his face. When Nickel orders the team to dismantle the spaceships, Coiny obliges. Nickel also asks pictures of Flower's "hideous" face to be added to the chamber, and Coiny adds them.
In "Meaty", Nickel asks Spongy to help him crank the Eiffel Tower's HPRC, since he's strong. Spongy agrees, saying Nickel was the "good coin". The two work together to revive Bomby every time he gets thrown off the tower.
In "The Liar Ball You Don't Want", Nickel face plants into Spongy while playing with poppers set up by Needle and Firey Jr.

In "Take the Plunge: Part 1", Coiny and Firey are standing on Spongy.
In "Get in the Van", Pin tries to get Nickel to join W.O.A.H. Bunch, but Nickel is hesitant because Coiny is also on W.O.A.H. Bunch. When Coiny asks if they're just going to walk to Yoyle Mountain, Nickel asks what else they could do.
In "Lots of Mud", Needle says that Nickel is about to drown, but was cut off by Coiny, Coiny wanted W.O.A.H. Bunch to check up on Pin.

In "The Reveal", Nickel claims that he is the new Coiny.
In "Reveal Novum", Nickel holds a sign that says "TO DO LIST: REPLACE COINY!"
In "No More Snow!", Coiny ignores Spongy when he tries to warn him about the canyon. Soon, Coiny asks and then forces Spongy to impale himself on those spikes to save their lives. Spongy refuses and Coiny implies that he is fat before Coiny pushes him onto the spikes. Coiny seems impatient when waiting for Spongy to die from the spikes. When Coiny talks about Spongy being dead already, he adds "...I hope." Upon finding out that Pin, Needle, and Spongy are dead forever, Coiny looks disappointed. However, he didn't seem to mind when he realized that his chances of winning tripled. Nickel begs Spongy to impale himself on the spikes since he'd die either way. Like Coiny, Nickel gets frustrated with Spongy moaning in pain and smiles when Spongy goes silent.
In "It's a Monster", when Spongy tries to get Coiny to apologize to him, Nickel tells Spongy to zip it.
In "Well Rested", when Spongy says that Coiny is not the only smart coin on the team, referring to Nickel, Coiny looks mildly annoyed.
In "Intruder Alert", When Firey Speaker Box explains for the contest that they have to build a dungeon to trap the eliminated characters in, Spongy mocks Coiny by saying "Haha! That will be you soon Coiny!" In response to this, Coiny kicks Spongy. Later in the same episode, when Coiny tells W.O.A.H Bunch to start sucking the water, Spongy responds with "You already do." And during the stinger, Spongy mocks Coiny for not being able to take the heat of the hot chili peppers.
In "Meaty", Spongy once again insults Coiny by calling Nickel "the good coin". He later explains to Pin that the reason he's been mean to Coiny is because of when he threw him onto the spikes in "No More Snow!". He then says he'll think about talking it out with Coiny.
In "Lots of Mud", when Spongy is eliminated, Needle calls Coiny and Spongy out for supposedly having an unresolved conflict, referring to BFDIA 5c, and she asks if they would like to talk about it before it's too late. Coiny replies by saying that he has an entire speech prepared regarding the incident, but he lets Spongy go first, calling him an 'old pal'. Spongy takes a deep breath, before spitefully responding with a huge "no" and being flung by the Sender Scoop Thrower. Nickel states that Spongy is not his ally.
