In BFDIA, both were loyal members of rival teams, though they generally continued to get on all right when interacting one-on-one. Once the teams were dissolved after the season ended, they set aside their differences and became friends, though they have not had any notable interactions since.

In "Lofty", Tennis Ball bounces up due to falling down the stairs, Coiny greets him as he falls down.
In "A Leg Up in the Race", when Tennis Ball tells Coiny and Firey to calm down, Coiny looks at him with an odd expression. Firey mocks Tennis Ball, but Coiny claims that at least Tennis Ball knows more than him.

In "Welcome Back", Coiny mentions that Tennis Ball told him that the Grotatoes were gonna taste delicious. Later, Tennis Ball shows up, greets Coiny as "coin creature," and then shows him the Wall Teleporter. Coiny acts really excited about this but then asks what a wall teleporter is, which makes Tennis Ball give him a weird expression before he explains how the device works.

In "Take the Plunge: Part 2", Coiny believes that Tennis Ball is in love with Golf Ball, and mocks the two for it. Tennis Ball does not react. During the challenge, Coiny starts the motor, pushing Tennis Ball away.
In the stinger of "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?", Tennis Ball tells Eraser, Coiny, and Woody, who are all stuck below him, that he has to go to the bathroom.
In "Sweet Tooth", Tennis Ball interrupts Coiny's argument to say that ice cake rhymes with rice cake.
In "Insectophobe's Nightmare", Tennis Ball was later annoyed at how Coiny and Firey kept slapping each other instead of focusing on walking in synchrony.
In "Lofty", Firey and Coiny are the only people left on Another Name with Tennis Ball, and they won't stop slapping each other. Tennis Ball is not happy about this.
In "🥚", Tennis Ball tells the hosts that Coiny has been isolating in the lighthouse, and says they should leave him be. Tennis Ball disagrees with Coiny when he declares his respect for Pin's victory last episode, then explains to him what happened while he was isolating. Later, the two head off together to look for items, and Coiny dares Tennis Ball to jump off a cliff down a waterfall. To his surprise, Tennis Ball says this may not be a bad idea and does so, looking for unique items at the bottom. Later, when Tennis Ball returns from Yoyleland, Coiny asks him where he was, and looks concerned when TB says he was on a murder spree.
In "Launch Party", Coiny asks Tennis Ball if he wants to hang around on the Really Weird Planet in the Orion Nebula and study the aliens, though it is unclear whether this is out of friendship or if he is trying to sabotage Tennis Ball by distracting him.

Later, he tells Tennis Ball crossly that his rocks are not unique, as he himself had already collected a rock. Tennis Ball indignantly responds that these are not just rocks, and tells him the specific minerals he has found, though Coiny looks unimpressed.
In "Launch Party", Coiny points out that Tennis Ball disfigured Needle last episode, trying to get her to target Tennis Ball over him for the danger zone. Later, Coiny again chastises Tennis Ball for collecting a rock, since he already has one. However, Tennis Ball points out that he collected Rocky. Angered, Coiny pushes Tennis Ball into his basket and says he never agreed to a truce. Tennis Ball runs off, still stuck in Coiny's basket, prompting Coiny to chase after him, though Tennis Ball ends up escaping. Later, the two run into one another again as they race to the alien planet. Coiny tries to obliterate Tennis Ball's spaceship, but accidentally obliterates Jupiter, which was Tennis Ball's fifth favorite planet. Tennis Ball becomes enraged and barrages Coiny with lasers. He misses every shot, so heads down to the planet. Coiny lands shortly after and demands his basket, which he obtains by kicking Tennis Ball out of it. After both obtain immunity tickets, Tennis Ball angrily begins leaving.
