Death is when a living being loses its mental and physical autonomy and ceases to be alive. In organic creatures, this includes the permanent, irreversible loss of biological function. Death generally means the end of life of a character until they are recovered. Objects will often attempt to avoid death (even when ways to revive are present) and will often seek more complicated methods to stay alive, since death is very painful and uncomfortable to experience. After death, the object will immediately or slowly lose their face and limbs (for example, Bottle being shattered causes her face and limbs to disappear instantly). If a character dies near a Yoylite, it keeps their spirit partially alive, being able to recover themselves.

Death is very common in the Battle for Dream Island series, as it is a black comedy, with a character dying in almost every episode.

What causes death

The causes of a character's death varies, but some causes of deaths include:

• The character is killed by another character.
• Collisions or contact with solid, sharp, or extreme-temperature substances.
• The character gets killed during a challenge.
• The character dies on command.
• Suicide.

• The character who has died the most is Bubble with over 2,858 deaths.
  • Bubble also holds the distinction of being the first character to die in the series.
• Currently, Stapy is the only contestant that has not died yet, excluding non-canon deaths.
• The character with the most kills is Blocky, with over 2,930 kills.
• Objects can remember their past lives, suggesting their mental functions don't cease after death.
• Bomby, Bubble, Ice Cube, and Ruby all died at least once in the first four seasons. However, Ice Cube and Bomby both died in TPOT, making them the only contestants to have died in every season.
• Woody is the only character to die of natural causes. In this case, he entered into cardiac arrest due to his fear of the color grey.
• So far, nobody has been killed by a firearm in the Battle for Dream Island series. However, it is unknown if there will be firearm kills in the Battle for Dream Island series. This is most likely impossible due to killing a character using a firearm are deemed too easy and unimaginative.
• Bubble, Yellow Face, Bomby, Ice Cube, Remote, and Teardrop are the only characters to commit suicide, with Yellow Face able to do so on command.
• The only character that hasn't died yet in season 2 is Dora.
• The only characters that didn't die in season 4 are Saw, Spongy, Tree, Puffball, Coiny, Needle, Robot Flower & all the exitors (except 8-Ball).
• The only characters that hasn't died yet in season 5 is Black Hole, Pie, Foldy, Saw and Cloudy
• Black Hole is the only contestant that wasn't sucked up in If Among Us Was a BFDI Challenge. This is because he was the one to suck everyone up.
• Saw and Dora are two female contestants who have died the least, with only 1 death each.
