“ | Donut: You're not always right, Pencil. You think you are, but you're not! Pencil: Don't act like you know me! I'm just trying to win! |
” |
This article lists the interactions between Donut and Pencil.
They were on bad terms in "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", but became friends in "I SAID CAREFUL!!!". However, their relationship quickly developed into a major conflict after Pencil nearly destroyed reality in "Seasonal Shift". Since then, the two have a similar dynamic to the one Donut previously had with Golf Ball, where he wants to make sure of the wellbeing of their team, and Pencil only cares about winning. However, while he is angry at her, Donut cares about Pencil just as he does the other teammates, though she does not believe this or seem to return the sentiment.
Episodes suggesting a conflict[]
In "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", Donut complained that his team was smaller than the other team. Pencil told him to deal with it. This started a fight in which Donut slapped Pencil, Pencil stabbed Donut, and Donut set Pencil ablaze via Firey. Firey tells Donut to calm down; Pencil agrees with him, but Donut does not. Then, Puffball comes up with an idea: If one contestant switched from the originals' team to the newbies' team, then they would be equal. Donut chooses Match to spite Pencil, who inhales her flames. In retaliation, she exhales them to Donut, but they end up hitting Book instead. After every newbie (except Donut) switches to the originals' team, Donut and Pencil stared at each other intently.
In "Start the Shift", Pencil, along with all the other BFDIA contestants still competing, are tired of Balloony and all the other LOLers (including Donut)'s hosting, so they try to get rid of them by recovering Spongy and flinging him at the LOL to crush it.
In "Seasonal Shift", Donut is angry at Pencil for nearly destroying the universe, and disapproving of her attempts to blame Winner.
The two butt heads throughout "The Power of Four" due to Pencil's complete disregard for their teammates. Donut repeatedly scolds her for this, while she either ignores him or retorts that he is not doing enough to help their team. Donut finally loses his temper and tells her that she thinks she's always right, but she isn't. Pencil sullenly says she shouldn't care about them if they don't care about her, which greatly hurts Donut. Pencil tells Donut not to act like he knows her, showing her disinterest in any sort of friendship with him.
In "Bottle For Dream Island", Donut glares at Pencil after she upsets Bottle by throwing her hand-made drawing off of the hotel roof.
Neutral interactions[]
In "Category One", Donut interrupts Golf Ball explaining her plan and asks if anyone else has a better idea. When Golf Ball replies to Donut that he'd rather waste time prolonging the challenge until their team loses again, Pencil has a noticeably upset expression.
In "I SAID CAREFUL!!!", Donut expresses concern that the CloudYAY Mega supervan won’t hold together much longer, but Pencil dismisses him, insisting that everything is fine. Moments later, the van explodes, sending the team plummeting to the bottom. Despite the van's complete destruction, the group remain unharmed. Pencil, unfazed, brushes off the mishap and scolds Donut for complaining. Later on, they burrow inside of the volcano with Golf Ball's drill. When Donut unusually gets warmer, he gets more and more concerened. Pencil suggests they put him out of his misery.
In "The Power of Four", when she says she has to throw him at Four to buy time, Pencil seems apologetic, and tells him it's nothing personal. After their massive argument, both look uncomfortable, with Donut in particular seeming regretful. Later, when Donut angrily insists that Pencil avoid running over Pen, she apathetically complies.
In "Bottle For Dream Island", when Pencil begins arguing with Golf Ball at Cake at Stake, Donut hastily intervenes, and tells Pencil that Golf Ball did not mean to offend her.
Episodes suggesting a friendship[]
In "I SAID CAREFUL!!!", Donut and Pencil carefully make their way across the wobbly bridge together.
In "The Power of Four", when Pencil begins to panic at Cake at Stake, Donut asks if she is okay, concerned. He later brings this up when Pencil alleges that he and Golf Ball don't care about her, telling her that he does care about her. After Donut scolds her for abandoning Yellow Face and Winner, Pencil tells him that she values him more than them, and says if he does good work she will let him into her new alliance, though Donut is offended by the offer. As Pencil again begins to panic when their team loses (and they are told they will lose two members), Donut gently tells her and Golf Ball that it will be okay.
In "Bottle For Dream Island", Donut stands with Pencil as the rest of their team tries to get Four and X to start Cake at Stake. He is looking at her sympathetically. When Pencil freaks out on learning she received the most votes, Donut explains to her that it is vote to save, and that she is not eliminated, calming her down. He watches her with concern after she loses her temper at Golf Ball and storms off, and quickly follows after her when she runs off from the ceremony after Four eliminates Yellow Face.
