Spoiler2

The information in the article below contains spoilers for the BFDI series. Please watch the episode(s) if you have not seen them yet.

For her normal counterpart, see Leafy.

Evil Leafy is a female major antagonist who appears in Battle for Dream Island, Battle for Dream Island Again, and IDFB.

In Battle for Dream Island, Evil Leafy was one of the 30 recommended characters that had a chance to join the show in "The Reveal". The votes for the debut were revealed in "Reveal Novum" and she only got 34 votes which was not enough to join, placing her 4th to join the season.

In Battle for Dream Island Again, Evil Leafy had the chance to join at the start of the season but she only received 90 votes which wasn't enough, placing 48th to join the season. Regardless, Evil Leafy makes frequent appearances in BFDIA as an antagonist having seemingly been able to teleport out of the Tiny Loser Chamber.

In IDFB, Evil Leafy is currently free despite failing to debut in BFDIA due to seemingly teleporting out of the Tiny Loser Chamber.

After IDFB, Evil Leafy has yet to make any physical appearances in the BFDI series having only appeared as a cardboard recommended character in Battle for BFDI episode "Four Goes Too Far" and as an imaginary figurine in Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two episode "Oneirophobe's Nightmare".

Appearance[]

Evil Leafy is identical to Leafy in terms of her base appearance. However, the key differences are that Evil Leafy's main body color is red rather than green. She has a somewhat realistic face, consisting of 2 large white scleras that glow when her body isn't illuminated with tiny pupils in each and 2 large bushy eyebrows to express her anger. Her mouth is mostly straight and has visible wrinkles.

Changes[]

BFDI 17-18

  • Evil Leafy's limbs are dark gray so they could be visible in the black background used in her debuting audition.

BFDIA 1-5, IDFB 1

  • Evil Leafy's limbs are black, like everyone else's.

BFDIA 6+

  • Evil Leafy's midrib is sharper, just like her normal counterpart.
  • Evil Leafy's outline and shading have a purple tint.

Personality[]

Evil Leafy is an enigmatic being of chaos. She is able to teleport and is considered by nearly every contestant to be a person to fear. Evil Leafy does not speak, with the closest thing instance being her swallowing the FreeSmart Van and some Bugs in "Get in the Van" and "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4" where she screams while eating the objects. She always has an intense stare on her face that rarely changes, with the only instances of changes to her face being her moving her pupils in "Well Rested", and her moving her mouth to slightly smirk in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4".

Despite the above, Evil Leafy appears to be somewhat rule-abiding, as seen in "Well Rested", where she instead uses a window to exit the room in her hotel when pursuing Team No-Name after Gelatin placed a "Do Not Disturb" door hanger as a means of attempting to outrun her.

Abilities[]

  • Teleportation: Evil Leafy can rapidly teleport short distances. She can't, however, teleport through solid walls or shut doors into closed areas, unless someone past the walls is chanting her name constantly.
  • Possession: She was seen possessing Flower and Spongy and escapes by getting thrown up.
  • Summoning: Evil Leafy can be summoned just by looking closely to a mirror with her shape in the Evil Here Hotel after being killed as seen in Well Rested
  • Growth of dark vines: She will sometimes produce vines around the thing she is possessing. She does this to Flower in "Zeeky Boogy Doog" and Dora's island in "PointyPointyPointy ♫".
  • Expanding mouth: She was able to eat the FreeSmart Van and the entirety of Team No-Name all at once. She was also to eat the bugs thrown at her by Coiny and Bomby. This may also hint towards the power of elasticity.
  • Dark aura: Whenever Evil Leafy is present, the area surrounding her becomes darker.
  • Shrinking of other characters: After consuming the FreeSmart Van and most of Team No-Name, she managed to somehow shrink them to a small size where they could stand on her surface.
  • Passing through glass: She can pass through the windows of the iffy room in "Well Rested" to get to Team No-Name.
  • Stamina: Evil Leafy can chase her prey for long periods without feeling the need to rest, even being able to chase W.O.A.H. Bunch from night to morning.
  • Strength: She has been seen instantly closing doors and trapdoors in one frame when teleporting.
  • Standing on water: In BFDIA 14 she is seen being able to stand on water on Teardrop's island.

Weaknesses[]

  • Water: Evil Leafy cannot go underwater (however, she can stand on water.)
  • Motion-sensing doors: Evil Leafy moves instantaneously and not continuously and therefore cannot open motion-sensing doors.
  • Lack of Volume Control: Evil Leafy is unable to control the sound of her teleportation.
  • Limited teleportation: Evil Leafy cannot teleport if she is physically attached to something, like being taped to a wall,

Coverage[]

Appearances[]

As of BFDIA 13, Evil Leafy does not have any speaking lines. Unless otherwise noted, appearances are non-speaking by default.

Battle for Dream Island[]

In "The Reveal", she is one of the 30 debut candidates who auditioned to debut to compete in Battle for Dream Island, for her audition she teleported to the screen most likely to scare the viewer.

Leafy turning into Evil Leafy in BFDI 25

In "Reveal Novum", she didn't make the cut as only 34 people had voted for her, finishing 4th in voting and causing her to be sent to the Locker of Losers. Evil Leafy lost in voting to Nickel, Bomby, and David. Book has described her as a Leafy wannabe. In the same episode, she reappears as an icon for the "Staring Contest" text.

In "Return of the Hang Glider", she makes a cameo where Leafy was briefly seen turning into her evil counterpart but stopped beforehand.

Battle for Dream Island Again[]

Evil Leafy got 90 votes to join Battle for Dream Island Again, placing 48th in the voting, which wasn't enough. Evil Leafy was seen in the alternate cut hiding behind the trees and making four cameos.

In "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", Evil Leafy doesn't get enough votes to join the season and is seemingly sent to the TLC.

BFDIA 2 Evil Leafy 5

In "Get Digging", she reappears, seemingly free from the TLC, starts chasing Spongy, Book, and Ice Cube in the Evil Forest. When she catches up to Spongy, she slowly sinks into him and he is left behind while the other characters escape.

In the stinger for "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3", Spongy spits out Evil Leafy, showing that he was not possessed, murdered, nor captured by her. Soon after, Gelatin comes to freeze her with his syringe and writes "First!!!" on her back, ending the episode.

In the stinger of "Zeeky Boogy Doog", Evil Leafy sinks into frozen Flower.

In "Get in the Van", Flower spits out Evil Leafy. The episode ends with Evil Leafy consuming the FreeSmart Van which was transporting the FreeSmarters, Tennis Ball, Golf Ball, and Rocky, which serves as the plot for the BFDIA 5b game. She stands still for a minute of silence.

In "No More Snow!", Evil Leafy most likely ate Firey and Gelatin, according to Puffball. The FreeSmart team managed to escape Evil Leafy and killed her by dropping a weight on her, along with Fries, Puffball, and the other contestants she ate.

Four copies of Evil Leafy appear at the bottom of the level select screen in BFDIA 5b as an Easter egg, and the third one is smiling.

Bfdia6 evilherehotel (28)

In "Well Rested", as Team No-Name goes inside the Evil Here Hotel, they stare at an Evil Leafy-shaped mirror. After a few seconds, Evil Leafy appears and chases down Team No-name through the hallways. They first hide in the iffy room, so Evil Leafy phases through the window. They run into the decent room next and board the window, which keeps Evil Leafy out until it's dark. Some water splashes on the boards, causing them to fall off and Evil Leafy enters the room.

Team No-Name runs into the fancy room next and Evil Leafy isn't able to get in because the motion detector doesn't sense her movements. Gelatin accidentally triggers the door to open when his headphones shoot a spike ball by the sensor. The last room for them to hide in is the bad room, but the walls fall over. Just as Evil Leafy is about to attack, she hears Coiny chanting her name from far away and teleports to his direction. She finds herself on top of a dehumidifier pipe and heads towards W.O.A.H. Bunch. However, her additional weight causes the team to get dunked underwater. She then moves towards FreeSmart and dunks them underwater. She repeats this process for the remainder of the episode.

In "Intruder Alert", she chases W.O.A.H. Bunch on the dehumidifier pipe for three weeks before Firey Speaker Box froze her, causing her to fall into the flooded Aerospace Manufacturing Plant. Her whereabouts are unknown, as she isn't seen even after W.O.A.H. Bunch drank all the grape flood water in the building.

In "Catch These Hands," she appears on the fourteenth anniversary wheel, along with all of the current hosts and contestants.

In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4", she appears in the Evil Forest and kills Bomby. She later enters the Concert Auditorium, but is sushed by the audience.

In "Well, Look Who It Is!", Evil Leafy is taped into a wall of the Concert Auditorium by Pan Flute for wreaking havoc on his concert. She tries to escape, but Pan Flute tapes her back and says that she's in timeout until she reflects on her actions. At the end of the episode, when Firey recovers Leafy, Leafy asks: "Who?". Evil Leafy, still taped in the Concert Auditorium, hears this and burns the tapes, frees herself and teleports as the episode ends.

In "PointyPointyPointy ♫", she appears in the evil forest while the contestants are doing the challenge. Over the course of the episode, she corrupts the first three islands, chasing anyone who is still on there, including Coiny, Pin, Tennis Ball, Nickel. When FreeSmart attempts to get the raft on Teardrop's island, they are ambushed by Evil Leafy in the basement of the pirate ship, only narrowly surviving.

IDFB[]

Evil Leafy in IDFB

Evil Leafy's brief cameo in "Welcome Back".

Evil leafy is one of the free characters in IDFB, as she is in the intro. If this season were to continue, it can be safely assumed that she will play a big role in it.
