This article focuses on the interactions between Tree and the other characters.
Tree usually acts stern but reasonable towards others, however he can unintentionally come off as being rude to his friends and teammates.
Announcer[]
In "The Reveal", he's hit by a knife thrown by the Announcer.
In "Reveal Novum", he attacks the Announcer when he learns that he didn't get enough votes to join BFDI.
Barf Bag[]
In "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", while disguised as Spongy, whenever Barf Bag asked him a question, Tree only said "yeah" in response, which fools Barf Bag and the entire team.
Black Hole[]
- Main article: Black Hole and Tree
Bottle[]
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", when Bottle says the world needs more people who are against killing, Tree says he agrees. Later when Bottle creates their team name, Tree smiles at her.
In "The Liar Ball You Don't Want", Tree somehow gets stuck inside Bottle during the challenge. It is still unknown how Tree was able to get stuck there in the first place. Tree himself didn't seem to harbor any negative feelings towards Bottle during the four episodes that he was trapped in her, though he looked angry about it in the "Enter the Exit" intro, but given that it's the pose he makes in the intro, it's likely meaningless.
In "Get to the Top in 500 Steps", Tree is still stuck inside Bottle, but has made progress in getting out without resulting in breaking out. This shows that Tree cares about the well-being of Bottle. Tree then commands Bottle to walk over to Four so that they could revive Pie, Bottle complies.
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", Tree asks Four to recover Bottle.
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", when Bottle leaves the team in favor of one that has more fun, Tree says that she can't be serious, but Bottle says that she is, making Tree facepalm in response.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree recovers Bottle with the recovery center after she died in the last episode.
Cloudy[]
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree suggests that they ask Cloudy for a new battery. Cloudy then becomes nervous and claims he has no battery, which makes Tree immediately figure out that he must've taken their battery. When Cloudy brings the battery back as part of their deal, Tree thanks him, until he drops it into Black Hole. After Cake at Stake, they both head off to give Cloudy his items.
Eraser[]
In "Fishes and Dishes", Tree swipes the two plates that Eraser had and then kicks him deep into the canal.
Fanny[]
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Tree enjoys having Fanny's propeller blown on him.
In "Gardening Zero", Fanny tells Tree that they absolutely can’t allow Ice Cube to slowly die. Later, Fanny reminds Tree and the others that Marker is on fire.
In "Fishes and Dishes", when Tree says too many words at once through Yoyle dancing, Fanny interrupts saying they didn't understand a word he said.
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", Fanny asks Tree if he's okay, concerned at his delirious state while they are in Golf Ball's Underground Factory. Tree says he's fine, just that his head feels messy.
In "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", Fanny and Pillow choose to kill Tree "for the greater good".
In "Balancing P.A.C.T.", Fanny tells Black Hole to give her a break as she wants Tree, who she calls their friend, back too, showing that she feels guilty of her actions. She later finds a giant Tree alone in the Goiky Canal.
In "Outbreak At Stake", Fanny helps Marker to save Tree as they dig in an attempt to move him away from the zombies.
In "Oneirophobe's Nightmare", Fanny is happy that her and Tree are back to normal while they are in Black Hole's nightmare. When Marker is sucked up by Black Hole in the nightmare, Tree and Fanny spend a majority of the challenge running away from a murderous Black Hole.
Four[]
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", when Four suddenly stops talking and doesn't answer anyone's requests to start the first contest, Tree tells him to quit his shenanigans and is promptly screeched by Four.
In "Today's Very Special Episode", Tree helps block the forks from hitting Four from fear of being zapped to death.
In "Fortunate Ben", when Four runs out of words to rhyme assemble with, Tree asks "Assemble or?", this makes Four screech him. When Tree reads his fortune, he asks Four where the fortunes came from.
In "Get to the Top in 500 Steps", after sitting through Four and Bottle's conversation, Tree tells Four to recover Pie.
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", when Four has Pillow in his mouth, Tree tells Four that he hopes he doesn't swallow only for Four to swallow Pillow, which makes Tree give Four a disgruntled look. When the contest starts, Tree asks Four to recover Bottle. Later when the team asks Four to recover Pillow, Four tells them she isn't dead. Tree tries to make sense of this by asking that if she was eaten, she'd be digested. When Fours says that isn't the case, Tree sighs and decides his team will have to just investigate Four's mouth, he then struggles to pry Four's mouth open.
In "The Escape from Four", it is Two using a spike ball (which they turned the Sun into) to injure Four that convinces Tree to join Two's show (although it is possible Tree was simply impressed by Two's ability to transform the Sun into a spike ball).
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", Four mutilates Tree, along with 14 other contestants, when they try to raid the hotel's kitchen.
Gelatin[]
Tree may not like Gelatin for killing Pie and Pen with forks in "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset". He also smiles as the forks that Gelatin throws are deflected by the fork repellent.
Golf Ball[]
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", Golf Ball comes up to Tree's treehouse to greet a shrunken Just Not. Tree wonders why Golf Ball is up so close and talking, and assumes that Just Not was in his head again, forcibly shaking them out in the process. Later, Golf Ball and the rest of her team climb into Tree's Treehouse.
In "Balancing P.A.C.T.", Golf Ball and Puffball harass Tree, who is now large and immobile. They then attempt to kill him in order to trick Death P.A.C.T. Again into giving up the balance beam challenge in order to save him. Then, when Marker jumps off the balance beam to save Tree, Golf Ball tells Puffball to simply leave him like this.
Grassy[]
In "Gardening Zero", Tree says that they botanical contestants appreciate Two’s challenge and Grassy says "Like Grassy!" and Tree says "Yeah." in agreement.
Ice Cube[]
In "Gardening Zero", throughout the latter half of the challenge, Tree's team tries to figure out a way to save Ice Cube from dying. They contemplate whether they should kill the plant to save Ice Cube or allow the plant to live at Ice Cube's expense. They decide to go with the former, with Tree ultimately being the one to cut their plant.
Lightning[]
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Lightning asks if he has to be good at preventing death to be on the team, and Tree says they accept students. When Lightning makes it to the top of the building, Tree tries getting his attention to get the rest of his team up, too. Lightning is unable to hear him, but after Tree uses a megaphone, Lightning tries going down in order to get the rest of his team, but isn't able to.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Lightning suggests that they ask Robot Flower nicely for a battery, but Tree tells Lighting to stop. When that doesn't work, Lightning thinks they haven't tried asking rudely enough. Tree vents to Lightning about why they're still trying when Robot Flower hasn't given them a battery no matter how many times they ask. Cloudy then enters the room, and Tree suggests that they ask Cloudy instead. During Cake at Stake, Tree offers Lightning his cake. Lightning denies, saying that it's a "special dessert for special occasions." Tree takes his cake back, responding with an awkward "Okay." Later, during the challenge, Tree accolades Remote's thinking for following Pillow so that she doesn't kill more people. Even though Lightning tries to tell Tree he actually suggested this, Tree ignores him and suggests the rest of the team steals more blocks, making Lightning reply "Okay" dejectedly.
In "Fishes and Dishes", when Tree isn’t able to squeeze through the icy surface, he pokes Lightning and gets him to melt the ice by zapping it. Tree then hands the plate they found to Lightning to turn in to Two.
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", Lightning tells Tree to use the time reversal ray on Marker to see if it undoes his burns, and Tree does that.
In "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", Lightning gets mad at their team preventing death and causing themselves to lose, and zaps everyone in the pit, including Tree. Not very long after, Tree is about to respond to something Lightning said, however he was interrupted by Black Hole.
Liy[]
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Tree does not want to be part of Liy's plan to make Teardrop talk and ends up leaving the scene. Later, he's invited to the team by Liy.
When Liy was eliminated in "Fortunate Ben" and was about to flip her switch, Tree pleads with her not to. Tree thought it was creepy and asked Four to suck her up.
Loser[]
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Tree asked Loser to greet him. After Loser acknowledges Tree's request and responds with a greeting, Tree calls loser his hero.
In "The Escape from Four", Tree is in awe of Loser's presence when he pops out of Spongy.
Marker[]
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree tells Marker that he has to help him build their stack. After Teardrop destroys the stack, Tree gets visibly irritated when Marker leaves with the team to get revenge on Teardrop (minus Remote, who was watching Pillow).
In "Getting Puffball To Think About Rollercoasters", when Marker faints onto the landing pad his team built, after witnessing more characters die, Tree says that they'll consider that as Marker's save a death prevention.
In "Gardening Zero", when Marker says that they could snip their plant with Two’s scissors, Tree says he remembers those and encourages Marker to go grab them. When Marker arrives back with the scissors, Tree compliments him for getting them in the nick of time and takes them, not noticing that Marker is burning, only showing concern when Fanny reminds everyone that Marker is still on fire.
In "Fishes and Dishes", while underwater, Marker does a dance that translates to asking his teammates how they're holding up. Tree answers with a dance that translates into a large paragraph of words. Marker tells him to try saying less words through dance. After Fanny drowns, Marker says they should swim closer to the surface and continue holding their breath. Later they work together to steal the plates from Are You Okay.
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", when Tree trips on a chocolate ball and it rolls into the treehouse, Marker comes up to Tree and asks him if he's okay. Tree tells him that his head feels a little funny. Later, Tree uses the time reversal ray on Marker to remove his burn marks.
In "Balancing P.A.C.T."
Naily[]
In "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", he is stabbed by Naily while he's disguised as Spongy, he doesn't seem to mind it though.
Pen[]
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", when Pen says their team needs a name, Tree says he doesn't have any ideas.
In "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", Tree is the only member of Death P.A.C.T. who is happy to see Pen and Pie recovered.
In "Today's Very Special Episode", Tree criticized Pen for asking Black Hole to do the challenges, despite asking Black Hole to do it seconds later. When the challenge is over, Tree puts his hand on Pen, waiting to see if either they or A Better Name Than That will be up for voting.
In "Four Goes Too Far", when Pen hears a noise, Tree reminds his team to keep their eyes closed, not that Pen listens.
In "This Episode Is About Basketball", while he was stuck in Bottle, Pen starts blaming him for not doing the challenge. Tree responds in a muffled and annoyed tone that he's trying. Later on, Pen says that it's clear that they can't rely on Tree to do anything, and Tree is visibly sulking.
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", when Tree tries to open Four's mouth, Pen tells Tree to step aside and Tree watches as Pen manages to get Four to open his mouth.
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Tree remembers that they only took Pen in when he was the last one picked, and doesn't seem to mind when he leaves.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree nonchalantly shoves Pen aside to recover Bottle. Having been former teammates, Pen and Tree share a few awkward glances at each other as Tree recovers Bottle.
Pie[]
In "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", Tree is the only member of Death P.A.C.T. who is happy to see Pie and Pen recovered.
In "Get to the Top in 500 Steps", Tree tells Four to recover Pie after she was killed by Flower in the contest.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", when Pie agrees with Lightning's suggestion to ask Robot Flower for a battery nicely, Tree groans. Tree has no reaction to Pie's elimination as he only clears his throat during the awkward silence.
Pillow[]
In "Today's Very Special Episode", Tree tells Pillow she can't be serious about blocking all of the forks by herself and gets upset when she interrupts by telling them to go.
In "This Episode Is About Basketball", while he was stuck in Bottle, Pillow tells him to pull his weight in the challenge.
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", when Pillow is being screeched while in Four's mouth, Tree says that he hopes Four doesn't swallow. when Black Hole reminds his team that Pillow died, Tree starts arm waving, meaning he doesn't care, though he is never actually seen doing so. When he and the team realizes they should be caring about Pillow's death, they try to get Four to recover her.
In "The Escape from Four", when Tree calls one of Two's tricks "impressive as bark", Pillow adds that bark isn't impressive. Tree tells her to shush.
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Tree wonders where Pillow ran off to when she disappears from the team.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree is shocked to see Pillow killing Price Tag. When Black Hole says that they all hoped she would've stopped this behavior, Tree responds "You kept that optimism the whole time?" Implying he never believed Pillow would've grown from her behavior.
In "Fishes and Dishes", Tree voluntarily falls off the hotel before Pillow can toss him.
In "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", when Pillow arrives where Death P.A.C.T. again is, Tree tries to get her away, but Fanny tells him to hear her out. Then, Pillow and Fanny choose to kill Tree in order to change the team's strategy.
Puffball[]
In "Gardening Zero", when Puffball appears in the jungle to sabotage Death P.A.C.T. Again’s plant, Tree tells her she might as well give up as they built a castle around their plant that is impermeable to the dangers of the jungle. However, Puffball simply flies over the castle, gaining access to the plant. Tree and his team then bang on the castle walls, demanding that Puffball leave their plant alone.
Later, Puffball arrives back with Ice Cube and puts Tree’s team in a position of having to choose if they should kill their plant and lose or allow the plant to slowly absorb Ice Cube until she dies. Tree calls her clever.
Remote[]
They don't interact with each other that much in BFB but are still friends since they are on the same team. They begin to interact more in TPOT.
In "Fortunate Ben", Tree watches Remote as she reads her fortune.
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", when Remote is explaining her strategy to her team, Tree asks if it would be too slow, but Remote tells him to just let her finish. Later, he complains when Remote tells her team to climb the last few flights of stairs. When they reach the top, Remote pulls Tree to the edge to call Black Hole, only to remember that he has bad hearing. Tree tells her not to worry since he has a megaphone, and Remote points out that she gave it to him. When Remote sacrifices herself in order to use her battery as something to get Black Hole's attention, Tree tells her that he won't let it go to waste and successfully uses it to get Black Hole's attention.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree tells Remote that he and the rest of Death P.A.C.T. Again appreciated her effort in last episode's challenge. He recovers Remote twice after she gets burned by acid. Tree compliments Remote when she volunteers to follow Pillow.
In "Getting Puffball To Think About Rollercoasters", when Remote says that she loves Two's amusement park, Tree tells her that it's empty. Remote says she knows and that she appreciates the minimalism. Later, when Tree starts to have fun bouncing on his team's landing pad, Black Hole tells him to stop, and Remote adds that it's specifically for preventing death.
In "Gardening Zero", Remote asks why they don’t just pull Ice Cube out of the ground. Tree says the walls are indestructible but welcomes her to give it a try. She manages jump over the wall with ease and Tree compliments her and tells her to pull Ice Cube out. Remote is unable to as Puffball got Ice Cube really stuck.
Robot Flower[]
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree complains that they asked Robot Flower for a battery 2,700 times.
In "Gardening Zero", after Tree says that they botanical contestants appreciate Two’s challenge, Robot Flower tries to include herself. Tree isn’t sure if she counts.
Rocky[]
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Tree uses Rocky to barf on Two.
Ruby[]
In "The Escape from Four", when Ruby gets scared, she holds on to Tree's arm. Tree doesn't seem to mind.
Teardrop[]
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Tree tells Liy that he thinks getting Teardrop to talk isn't worth any effort.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree suggestively asks which team Teardrop will join, hoping she'd join his. Later in the challenge, Teardrop obliterates one of Death P.A.C.T. Again's blocks from their stack and Tree gets angry at her.
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", Teardrop sneaks into Tree's head while the team goes into Gelatin's Steakhouse. When he finds a box of 100 Chocolate Balls, Teardrop emerges from Tree's head and runs off with the box.
In "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", Teardrop uses Tree's body to plug up the Goiky Canal.
Two[]
In "The Escape from Four", when Two shapes some lava into a two, Tree can be heard saying "Bravo, very well executed". Tree then tells Two that he isn't convinced by his ability to move a forest, since he could just walk. In response, Two turns the sun into a spiky ball, which he uses to hit Four. Tree calls that "impressive as bark" and switches to Two's show.
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Tree yells at Two for not explaining one of the rules loud enough and has Rocky barf on them.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Two notices Tree and Cloudy walking away after Cake at Stake and asks where they're going. Tree says they're just starting the intro, not intending to stay to watch.
In "Getting Puffball To Think About Rollercoasters", Tree gives Two a disgusted look for their Atwosement Park pun.
In "Gardening Zero", Tree thanks Two for having them do a challenge that benefits botanical life. Tree is then sent to the jungle when Two puts his bracelet on him. Later, Tree tells Two killing their plant to save Ice Cube was a necessary sacrifice.
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", when Death P.A.C.T. Again gets to Two just in time before sunset, Two asks Tree if he's okay, concerned by his grogginess. Tree says yes, but that his head feels funny.
In "Balancing P.A.C.T.", Two calls Tree's name in a playful manner when Black Hole tells them that Tree is missing. When Tree seemingly doesn't respond, Two is offended by this and disqualifies him from the challenge for being "purposefully absent".
Winner[]
In "Getting Puffball To Think About Rollercoasters", Tree notices Winner stopping a stack of blocks from falling on anyone and tells them that preventing death is his team's job, before he's crushed by a block himself.
In "Fishes and Dishes", Tree attempts to turn in the plates he found but isn't able to because the surface is frozen. Winner punches a hole into the ice and takes one of Tree’s plates to give to Two.
Everyone[]
In "The Escape from Four", Tree is the one who tells everyone that they need to stand up for the eliminated contestants, and helps with pulling them out of Four.
Teams[]
A Better Name Than That[]
When the team repeats the word "treason" because of Golf Ball drawing in the contest, Tree says "I'm in what?".
Death P.A.C.T.[]
In "Four Goes Too Far", Tree tells the team to close their eyes so that they wouldn't get the twinkle. Strangely, no one on the team listens to him except Pie and then Pen later.
In "The Four is Lava", Tree looks at Bottle, Remote, and Pen with an annoyed expression when they chant for Black Hole to swing them back up to Four's mouth. However, in the shot showing the seven teams who aren't safe, Tree looks at the same trio with a satisfied smile as they have fun, possibly having an offscreen change of heart.
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", since they're one of the teams with seven members, Tree figures they could just stay together again for TPOT.
Death P.A.C.T. Again[]
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree suggests that they steal blocks after all of their own get sucked up by Black Hole. When the team meets up again, Tree asks why no one else has any blocks. Tree presents the blocks that he stole and says that they don't have to thank him. Everyone does just that, making Tree desperately ask for someone to thank him.
In "Getting Puffball To Think About Rollercoasters", Tree tells his team that they should forfeit the challenge for this episode in order to focus on preventing death. He later orders the team to follow Are You Okay into Golf Ball's factory, in order to prevent them dying.
In "Gardening Zero", Tree thanks his team for joining him after he was sent to the jungle by himself.
Just Not[]
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree casually approaches Just Not during the challenge, making Cake, Price Tag, and Nickel suspect that the wants to knock down their stack. Tree says he just wants to steal their blocks and succeeds in doing so with little resistance.
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", Just Not is playing Goiky's Dragon inside of Tree's treehouse. Tree asks if they're playing in his head again, implying this is a common occurrence for him.
Are You Okay[]
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", Are You Okay jumps into Tree's treehouse to escape a bug. He shakes them out later and asks them if they've been in his head all day.
