Alternative versions of soundtracks[]

Lighto (2016 Version)[]
Lighto (2016 Version) is the original version of Lighto before its remaster for the BFDI music visualizer in 2020.
It first played in the video The NYC 2016 BFDI Meetup in the beginning of the video. It plays in BFB 19. A version that is the same length as the original mix of Lighto plays in BFB 2, but is different several ways and shares more similarities with the 2020 remaster of Lighto, just without the drop.
Burst[]
Burst is a track that never plays in BFB, but has been used in other Jacknjellify videos. The track shares many similarities with Shirtsong leading some to belive that it is a remix of Shirtsong, though it could be the case that Burst predates the released version of Shirtsong.
A version of Burst plays throughout the video How to Fold your Foldy.
In the leaked filenames there were four different tracks whose names included "Burst":
- burst censored.m4a
- burst extended.m4a
- burst p2.m4a
- burst.m4a
And there's another which shares many similarities with the tracks containing "Burst":
- telling me v2.mp3
So far only burst extended, burst p2, and telling me v2 have been played in a livestream.
Burst Extended[]
Burst Extended was the first version of burst to be played in a Humany livestream.[2] The track contains vocal samples from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic songs. The intro section contains Pinkie Pie samples from "At The Gala"; a song from the season 1 episode "The Best Night Ever". The second half uses vocal samples from "What my Cutie Mark is Telling Me"; a song from the season 3 episode "Magical Mystery Cure".
Burst Censored[]
It is unknown exactly what Burst Censored sounds like, but the most popular theory is that it is similar to either burst or burst extended with fewer vocal samples. This may have also been the version of Burst heard in TPOT 6, but this is unclear. Before its identification, it was given the remix track number 3.
Burst p2[]
Burst p2 was seen in the filenames and played in a Humany livestream.[3] It is different from the other known variations in that it has no My Little Pony vocal samples.
Telling Me v2[]
Telling Me v2 was seen in the filenames and played in a Humany livestream.[4] Telling Me v2 is very similar to burst with only small variations.

Unreleased tracks[]
This section lists all tracks that had their names confirmed, but haven't been officially released. Many of these were found by the leaked filenames of Michael's music. In a video by Cary titled "The mind-numbing problem with DistroKid (and online music distribution in general)" he included screenshots of the BFB music folder. From these filenames some theories were made and some of them were identified, but many of the unknown filenames were left unidentified. When Cary started streaming weekly on his channel "Humany" some people requested that he play some of the filenames so they could find out what they were. So far there have been 13 streams where 72 tracks from the folder have been played.
Tracks sent by request from Michael over Discord (such as Bnob, Minutes, and Chorkey) are not included in the following section.
Hallway[]
Hallway is a track that played in BFB 10, 11, 15, 18, and TPOT 1. Its name was initially confirmed in a deleted livestream from Pokey where Pokey states that Hallway is treated as the Eternal Algebra Class Withfour theme.
The name was also included in the description of "Cary explores time travel further (EXPLICIT)".
It was made around 2013 as it was used in an ozgq video in late 2013.
Storm[]
Storm is a track that played in BFB 11, 16, 18, and 23. Its name was first found during Cary's reaction to BFB 23.[9] It later played in a livestream on Humany. Before it was identified, this track had the unknown track number 20.
Places[]
places.mp3 was seen in the leaked BFB music filenames. Shortly after the filenames were leaked the file places2.mp3 was discovered on HTwins Central by Discord user Oggevals.[10] While fae may not have been the first to discover it, fae did start the chain of events that led to its eventual popularity.
After she added a link to it on the OST spreadsheet it was noticed by some people in the BFB OST Discord community. One such person was Neko who made an upload of the track on her YouTube channel. The video gained thousands of views within the first few months of it being published; the video's popularity allowed many to become aware of the tracks existence and became loved by many. In mid-2021 this was followed up with a high quality upload of Michael's track as the sound quality in the original upload was considerably lower.
For a while it was unknown what the places.mp3 file in the BFB music folder was; if it was different or the same as places2. But in April of 2021 places.mp3 was requested to be played in the stream "Unboxing a Cat Keyboard Piano from Japan, and playing melodies on it!". As it turned out, the places in Cary's folder was different from the places that was posted to HTwins Central. While places2 had a melody, chords, drums, was detuned by 50 cents and was 1:54 in length, places had no percussion, was not detuned, and was only 56 seconds long. Many speculate that places.mp3 is an unfinished version of places2.

When the filenames were initially leaked many speculated that Cullen Jacuzzi was the cullen house remix that played in BFB 3 and 4. This speculation was soon confirmed when it was played in the "Drawing Pokemon/BFDI with Katherine" livestream.[11]
All three tracks with "Cullen" in their names (Cullen House Loop, Cullen Jacuzzi, and Cullen Goals) are named after a high school friend of Michael and Cary's who played the violin in orchestra.

Goofin was one of the first tracks to be added into the unknown track system, but it was originally considered to be two separate tracks. The first half was considered to be unknown track 3 and the second to be unknown track 1. After a while the ripping community realized that they were likely part of the same track. In Pokey's now deleted livestream with BFB music every instance of UT3 was followed directly by UT1. The fact that they also were in the same key and had the same tempo brought them to the conclusion that they were part of the same track. The unknown track number 3 was retired and both were considered unknown track 1. Unknown track 3 was later repurposed for the track that would later be identified as introa.
Both parts of Goofin played in a fernozzle video. At the very end of that video the tail end of track was edited to be slower. Some people thought that that was the ending of the track when in reality it just cuts off and doesn't slow down. Additionally, some thought the track started with an edited version of the start which came from a remix of the track by Candlemations titled "Chorkless". Some people mistook the name of the remix for the name of the real track and titled their rips with the fake name.
Goofin also plays in a video by Maixi "Diamondcup67" titled "BFB 1, but loser never shows up" this track is used despite never being released or gotten perfectly clean by rippers. It is still unknown where he got the track from, but the most plausible explanation is that it was given to him directly by Michael. Trivia and theories[]
- "Touch Fuzzy Get Dizzy" and "happy fun time candy cover" are most likely named after Touch Fuzzy Get Dizzy from Yoshi's Island and "Happy Fun Candy Time" from the Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures soundtrack.
- Surprisingly, an unknown track that contains the melody and chords from "Happy Fun Candy Time" plays in BFB 23, possibly confirming that the file "happy fun time candy cover" has been identified.
- If you search "Owl City - Tip of the Iceberg (Verlis Remix)" on YouTube, you'll find a channel called notverlis that only uploaded 2 videos since 2013. That same channel has also uploaded another song called "biped" which has the same name as another one of the files. Both songs have a similar music style to Michael's music style and since it's in a folder containing music made by Michael, many say that these tracks were created by Michael.
- Biped playing in TPOT 3 officially confirms this.
- In the source files for the BFB intro, the music is called "bfdi plodder.wav" which is the same as one of the files in the video heavily suggesting that bfdi plodder or something similar is the name of the music in the BFB intro.
- Similarly, in the leaked IDFB intro source file, the music is "dada-160806.mp3" which seems to suggest that dadaaa is the name of the music in the IDFB intro.
- The file called "badum-cake-at-stake" could possibly be the cake at stake song for BFB, though this is partly speculative. It is also theorized that "badum" is the instrumental version of the BFB cake at stake song.
- Cary posted a file called "abacaba theme boys" on the HTwins Central Discord server which sounds exactly like the ABACABA outro. The reason that it's called this is because the first video on the ABACABA channel was on the history of girl's names which had a slightly different outro. The second video on the channel was an the history of boy's names and had the current version of the outro.
- "abacaba theme melody" is theorized to be remix track 8 because it sounds exactly like the ABACABA outro theme but with no layers but the melody.
- "coins wrong sidechain" is theorized to be the version of Coins that plays in BFB 13 because it's like Coins, but with the sidechaining different.
- Some say that "tent" is unknown track 29 because one file is called "tent-for-bfdia6-scrap4" and UT29 plays in the bfdia6 deleted scene video.
- elecman might be named after Elec Man from Megaman. This might indicate that track has a similar melody to Elec Man's stage music from that game.
- Chug2 is theorized to just be a part of Chugvolution, while Chugvolution is theorized to be a combination of unreleased tracks by Michael supposedly named "Chug" and numbered like Chug2.
- Burst censored is theorized to be Burst but without the vocals.
- Burst p2 is theorized to be a part of Burst, while Burst-extended is theorized to be a longer version of Burst, as the name implies.
- Paper world is the file name of "Is It Really A Work In Progress If No Progress Is Happening", as confirmed in "First-ever GOTH drawing stream with Eggy voice actor (Drawing requests will close at 7:11 PM PST)".
