The following article focuses about the relationship between Firey and Flower.
Like practically everyone else in BFDI, Firey disliked Flower due to her bad attitude and mean-spirited behavior. Firey was also often targeted by her due to his weakness for water. They didn't interact until BFB 18, where Firey refers to Flower as his friend seemingly out of nowhere, which starts their friendship that gradually grew closer as episodes went on.
Episodes suggesting a friendship[]
In "Return of the Hang Glider", Firey says that he thinks Flower is a jerk, but allows her to come to Dream Island anyway.
In "X Marks the Spot", Flower is happy to see Firey on the same team as her, because he was the winner of the first season, so Flower could steal winning strategies from him. Firey seems to ignore her.
In "Take the Tower", Firey says that he would know his friend Flower if he saw her. Flower is happy that Firey considers her his friend. After shoving the real Flower out, Firey plays patty cake with Gelatin, though he believes he's playing with Flower.
In "How Loe Can You Grow?", Flower, calling herself Firey's friend due to the events of BFB 18, follows Firey and Loser into Spongy's spaceship to search for the superspeed laser button. Once they find it, Firey tells Flower that they need a drumroll first. Flower is annoyed at this, but joins in later.
In "A Taste of Space", Flower calls Firey, who is on the sun. Firey greets Flower back and asks if she needs anything, to which she says she's just saying hi.
In "Let's Raid The Warehouse", Firey suggests getting Flower a bag of ten-million bug larvae as a gift for her, seemingly forgetting about Flower's fear of bugs. When giving Flower her actual gift, glitter, Firey gets down on one knee and calls Flower "floral queen". Flower replies that "this floral queen" (i.e. herself) expects only the highest quality, but when she sees the glitter, she is very happy and immediately tries it. In the stinger, Flower asks Firey if he wants to try on her new glitter-infused fashion line. Firey says alright, so Flower puts a sweater on him. Because he is fire, he causes the clothing to brighten and shine, Flower compliments Firey's look, saying he looks so radiant. Firey seems to like wearing it.
In "The Game Has Changed", Firey agrees with Flower that cake at stake is not fun, as if they get out, they spin in circles for months and it's very high up too.
In "B.F.B. = Back From Beginning", when the Announcer tells Flower that Firey is in the jawbreaker she's licking, it gives her motivation and causes her to lick the jawbreaker significantly faster to get her friend Firey out.
In "Chapter Complete", Firey votes for Flower to win, saying that she's his friend that he hopes it will be a vote from one winner to another. After Flower wins and receives her happy thought, Firey asks what her happy thought was. Flower tells him that she knows she won, but she would also be happy if Gelatin won and she thinks about sharing the prize. Firey doesn't give a definitive answer since it's her prize, but tells Flower that he was once in the same position as her but blew it when it came to sharing his prize with someone close to him, and encourages her to make a choice.
When Purple Face steals the BFDI and attempts to run away with it, Firey is the first one who suggests that they should help Flower get her prize. When everyone has escaped the dangling bus, Flower says that all of the problems in the finale are now settled. Firey agrees, initially being glad that there isn't another conflict going on. Flower and Firey can later be seen setting up Four's party together. At the end, Flower wishes both Firey and Leafy good luck in finding their Dream Island as they head off in their boat, saying that she will miss them.

In "Hurtful!", Firey says that they have to make a cake for the fourth contest. Flower says she will use a dirt cake like Coiny, to which Firey comments that Coiny is dumb and that she shouldn't follow his ways, but Flower doesn't care and moves on.
In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2", Firey tells Flower to jump over a canyon that they encountered while running away from the bugs.
In "Take the Tower", Firey shoves Flower away from their team's tower, because he thinks she's the fake Flower.
In "Fashion For Your Face!", when Flower says that her ears bleed, Firey asks if plants have blood. When Flower is missing, Firey notices this and asks where she is.
In "Chapter Complete", when the golden bus starts to dangle off a cliff, Flower asks what happened, and Firey responds that the world went sideways, claiming she must not have taken Gelatin's Earth class.
Episodes suggesting a conflict[]
In "Take the Plunge: Part 1", Flower pushed Firey off the balance beam because she "needed her space".
In "Sweet Tooth", Flower disagrees with the score the Announcer gave Firey (10/10) for baking a cake without using the oven and gives him a 3/10 instead.
In "The Glistening", Firey rushes Flower her to jump but Flower angrily says she doesn't want to jump and throws Firey instead.
In "Don't Pierce My Flesh", Firey tries to get Flower's attention so he can show her something "important", but she says that she doesn't care, unless it's Dream Island. When Flower refuses to look, he tells her it's a bug. Startled, Flower smashes the bug with a large mallet and the bridge they were standing on breaks. Later, Flower bragged to Firey that her Speaker Box is better than Firey's and they argue over whose speaker box should host.
In "Hurtful!", Flower pushed Firey into the metal furnace. At the start of the final challenge, Flower pushes him off the bridge saying she needs her space. Flower tells Firey to help her over the rock wall, he refuses so she threatens him with being extinguished. Firey thinks she's bluffing, so she pushes him towards the water and kills him, along with Leafy. Later, Firey can be seen carrying her up the rock wall. In the volcano, Firey falls off the pole leading to the bottom but managed to survive in the lava, Flower says that he can't survive in water and extinguishes him with a water bucket before falling into lava.
In "Return of the Hang Glider", Firey angrily thanks Flower for breaking the Announcer. Firey is angry at Flower for destroying the Bubble Recovery Center. He tells her that's he thinks she's an evil person and makes her taste her own medicine by throwing her into the furnace. However, Flower is recovered by the Master Recovery Center and destroys Firey's own recovery center. Firey tells her to stop destroying the rest of the recovery centers, but Flower doesn't listen.
In "Who Stole Donut's Diary?", despite the two recently becoming friends, Firey taunts Flower with the broken piece of her pot that he got as cake for being safe, saying he might just keep it. Flower angrily says that he better not.
In "Chapter Complete", Firey and Flower fight over the BFDI, along with everyone else on the bus.
