Fries and Tennis Ball were two of the longest-lasting members of Team No-Name in BFDIA, and though Fries often came into conflict with Tennis Ball and Golf Ball's leadership, he got on better with Tennis Ball as the team shrank. Once Fries left the team, the two became enemies, as Fries was with everyone. However, by the time of IDFB, the two have set aside their differences and become acquaintances, with continues into TPOT where they are teammates again.

Episodes suggesting a friendship[]

In "Meaty", Fries and Tennis Ball work together in the challenge, and paint the Eiffel Tower green while riding in a car.

Tennis Ball asks where Golf Ball is, Fries responds telling him that she's on her way. Tennis Ball then asks where Firey and his Yoylite is. Fries tells him to continue pouring paint and that there probably underground.

Later in the episode, Fries asks Tennis Ball to make a shield, but Tennis Ball says that he can't without Golf Balls expertise in mechanical engineering. Fries asks him if he would rather die, which makes Tennis Ball build the shield. When the shield falls to the ground Fries tells him that his invention sucked. Tennis Ball says that he said his invention without GB are gonna suck. Fries then hands him one of the car doors mirrors to reflect the lasers.

Fries asks Tennis Ball if he has any ideas to stop Freesmart's rampage. When Tennis Ball tells him his idea, Fries says that they can't survive that, but Tennis Ball says they have no other option.

In "Respect to the Wicked", after Tennis Ball bounced out of the underground hole and dragged Fries with him to get out, he briefly laughs at Fries' insult directed to Pin. After she pointed out that Nickel's chunk was taped to the former's back, he was quick to ask for Fries' help to tag it. This gets interrupted by his trinket getting tagged and a thunderbolt strike from Nickel's balloons hitting him a few seconds later.

In "Welcome Back", Fries revealed that Tennis Ball made him the grotatoes.

In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tennis Ball can be seen handing blocks to Fries so that he can stack them.

Episodes suggesting a conflict[]

In "Lots of Mud", Fries gets angry when Puffball Speaker box makes him join a team with Tennis Ball and Golf Ball.

In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4", Tennis Ball calls Fries jealous because of him having his own recovery center and pulls out a photo of Fries and Jack in the forest trying to blackmail him. Tennis Ball tries to kill Fries multiple times in the episode as he's on his own team.

In "PointyPointyPointy ♫", Tennis Ball and Nickel try to hang to Bomby and Fries while they're jumping with the Springy Shoes but get kicked off by Bomby.

In "Spore Day", while Bomby was being shrunk by Tennis Ball, Fries interrupted the process by kicking him and proceeded to steal the Shrink Ray he was using. He later on ends up being chased by Coiny and Fries who both threatened to murder him, leading to him being cornered by them and Fries calling his droplet experiment "nerd nonsense". Tennis Ball claims that he’s wrong as he was doing this to further his research to build his Growth-Ray that he planned on using on the birdhouse. When doing an attempt at it however, he missed his shot because Fries turned him around to specifically hit Bomby that dodges the projectile with his mouth.

Later on as soon as Needle was shrinking Tennis Ball’s size to fit into the droplet, Fries declared that it wouldn’t tickle for long by covering him with the Growth Ray while being shrunk. Reverting any side effects it could’ve caused and trapping him inside the invention. He also warns Fries to not shoot on the lead particles to avoid damages towards the ecosystem.

In "Respect to the Wicked", while the contestants are playing in the birdhouse with atoms, Fries throws an atom at Tennis Ball and as a response is warned by him that throwing two atoms at eachother is an incredibly dangerous idea. During the challenge, Tennis Ball is tasked by Fries to get digging and find W.O.A.H. Bunch's dirt cake, this command is refused and he explains that his stay is mandatory in order to protect the disguised Obelisk. This response infuriates Fries, leading to him doing all the work himself. After a few moments, Tennis Ball decides to tease Fries by saying he's jealous of Nickel going after his balloon and even mocks the lack of protection it has, to respond to this mockery Fries throws at his face a pile of the dirt he's been digging up.

In "Start the Shift", when Tennis Ball and Nickel are sent forward in time, Fries says "finally those two are gone!"

In "Airplanes in the Night Sky", Fries rejects Tennis Ball's offer to team up against Coiny and works against him throughout the challenge. When Book kills Fries (accidentally), Tennis Ball thanks her because Fries was trying to kill him. He eventually knocks Tennis Ball out of the race by stomping on Coiny's foot when TB is tied to him, sending him into the forest below.
