The gemstone cave was first featured in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4", while looking for a queen bug. Ruby finds a hallway and leaves her team to check it out. Upon entering, she notices her sisters. Ruby is initially excited to reunite with her family, but they do not exhibit the same affection back.
According to the sisters, they are angry at Ruby for crushing their dreams of joining the competition. Apparently, the Announcer was travelling through Goiky, searching for people to debut into the show, when he entered the gemstone cave. The sisters had the idea of debuting together. However, Ruby entered a sugar rush during the application process and managed to get accepted by herself. After the debacle, the sisters went into hiding out of the fear that they would be recorded. Upon learning that there are no cameramen, the sisters agree to trap Ruby in the cave and take her role as a contestant.
