Goiky is a region on Earth that is mainly a plain grassland area. It is where the Battle for Dream Island series took place.
BFDI, BFDIA, Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two all take place in Goiky, with BFDI and BFDIA's location in the Plains confirmed to be in Southern Goiky due to Leafy's map and Book's map. The locations of BFB and TPOT were originally less clear due to many biomes from both North and South Goiky appearing to border the Grasslands, though it was eventually confirmed to be in North Goiky after "The Seven Wonders of Goiky".
Name[]
Prior to "BFDI Is Back", when it was confirmed that its name was Goiky[1], fans had assumed it was called Goiky due to the naming of the Goiky Canal, which the term "Goiky" seemed unique. However, the name of the Goiky Canal wasn't always the case, since in Total Firey Points, its original name was the Pamana Canal[sic][2], which is a corruption of the real-life canal, the Panama Canal. It has now been confirmed it is called Goiky by the book that Coiny retrieved.
The word "Goiky" originates from "The Number Playground Chronicle!", where it is the title of a comic written by Zero.
Geography[]
- Main article: Geography of Goiky
There are two sections of Goiky, North Goiky, and Southern Goiky. They are seperated by the Goiky Canal which is "over 500 miles wide".
The southern part of Goiky is generally a flat and plain area that generally lacks trees, and it rarely rains there. There are deserts, snowy forests, and deep canyons, (Evil Canyon) so it is arguably quite diverse in its own. Most of BFDI takes place here.
There is a part of Southern Goiky called Greater Goiky, which has no confirmed location in Southern Goiky but is most likely in the Northern region of South Goiky's plains. It is a flat and plain area that has some more architecture inhabiting the area, Most of Spore Day takes place here.
The North side of Goiky is a more diverse area, it is more mountainy and has a whole lot of trees usually in groups, but rarely rains. It has snowy tundras, deserts, grasslands, pillar-like rock formations, and mountainous terrain.
Yoyleland is one of the regions in North Goiky, having purple grass and Yoyle bushes. An abandoned city named Yoyle City is in North Goiky. North Goiky is also home to Yoyle Mountain, which is likely the tallest mountain in Goiky while being seen in the background in various episodes featuring the Hotel.
Davidland is another region, though it's exact location is unknown, it is a shortcut to Yoyle Mountain. It is a flat-white area with Davidians of normal size, which are gigantic. It's considered to be a dangerous place because of the Davidian's loud voices, to which when they scream "Aw Seriously" when angered, it can have the range to blow out your eardrums and cause an earthquake in the area.
Transportation[]
Transportation in Goiky is limited. Due to a lack of demand and those who use it, there is a major lack of public transport, so those who must travel mainly use private vessels.
By road[]
Goiky does have a road network. The only known inhabited area, Yoyle City, does have a paved road network, presumably for motor vehicles, it links areas within the city and goes onto the Goiky Highway, that was made in 2014 in-universe, over the canal. Those who wish to travel elsewhere must be willing to drive in off-road conditions.
By boat[]
Boats are occasionally used, with one notable instance being in "Take the Plunge: Part 2", where the challenge is to cross the Goiky Canal. The contestants built boats and successfully crossed the canal.
By aircraft[]
Aircraft has been occasionally used to travel. In "Don't Pierce My Flesh", Firey Speaker Box and Flower Speaker Box used a Spaceship to transport the contestants to the Volcano.
Golf Ball has built a Rocket Ship in "Four Goes Too Far" in order to travel to The Moon.
Spongy once owned a private jet to allow him to escape the Underground and go to Space.
By rail[]
Two railways are known to exist, with both of them connecting the Pillary Ruins to Yellow Face's Warehouse. The first, the express line, is a passenger service that is a two way trip, but was briefly considered disuse due to the High Speed Express Train, the only known locomotive used to run the line, being destroyed. However, in BFB 30, it was shown to have been repaired.
The second is a secondary line that uses a 0-6-0 tank locomotive to also go to Yellow Face's Warehouse. This line is considerably dangerous due to the implementation of several vertical loops that cause the passengers to fall out.
Telecommunications[]
There are several methods of telecommunication used in Goiky, with some being more used than others.
Radio[]
Radio is established in Goiky, with radio signals being broadcast across Goiky. The first instance of radio is seen in "Sweet Tooth", where a narrator reads off a scientific report about Needle's Cake becoming a star. Radio is also used for advertising products. Radio could also be heard in Yoyleland, as seen in "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", as well as the Pillary Ruins in "How Loe Can You Grow?", where advertising and music services are provided respectively.
Television[]
TV is shown to project images on himself, but it is strongly implied that TV does it by himself and not by a signal.
A television playing an advertisement can be seen in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2" in the No More Advertisements Foundation advertisement, where a Stick Figure can be seen regularly enjoying the TV, before being interrupted by an ad, upsetting them.
In "Spore Day", Gramophone, a character in Book's pages, makes a remark about Goikywood, which is likely an entertainment company parodying Hollywood.
In "SOS (Save Our Show)", a TV station was found by Purple Face. The BFB contestants used it in order to fund the rest of Battle for BFB to prevent it from being cancelled, but ultimately failed; until Flower gave up her $50,000 bill.
Internet[]
Internet connections are shown to be established within Goiky, where tablets are used to connect to it. It is shown that the Big Rotating Building has an internet signal, where characters such as Ruby, Balloony, and Blocky use it to read articles, view advertisements, and watch videos. It appears that Woody also has internet access, as he was able to upload a prank video in "The Game Has Changed".
While members of the Have Cots are seen using an app store in "A Taste of Space" which requires an internet connection, it is possible that it was simply a trap by Four, as he appears after the Air app was a prank.
Flora[]
- Main article: Ecosystem of Goiky
Goiky appears to have a wide variety of trees, bushes, and other plants.
Trees[]
Although some trees are sentient, there are a large array of non sentient trees spread across Goiky. There are regular green deciduous trees spread across Goiky, although coniferous trees are also present in areas such as the Evil Forest, Snowy Forest, and the forest surrounding the Volcano.
Bushes[]
Bushes are a slightly more uncommon type of plant. They made their debut in southern Goiky in "Don't Lose Your Marbles", where they made infrequent appearances in season 1. The most well known bushes are Yoylebushes, which grow Yoyleberries and are found exclusively in Yoyleland. Bushes are also shown to grow around the Bathrooms, with one being prominently featured in "Return of the Rocket Ship", where Book and Gaty hide behind one to chat about the former's treatment of Taco.
Grass[]
Grass is widespread and grows in nearly every biome of Goiky, with some exceptions such as The Desert. Grass can grow to be very tall, as seen in "Get Digging", where the grass around the Locker of Losers is shown to be very tall. Grass is shown to be different in color where it grows; in the Plains, it is lime green, in the Grasslands, it is yellow (formerly a bluish green), and in Yoyleland, it is purple.
Seaweed[]
In Reveal Novum", seaweed is shown to grow in the seabed where the Tiny Loser Chamber landed after it bounced off of Bubble's Springy Shoes.

Goiky Canal[]
“ | The first contest is to build a boat, get in it and row it across the Goiky Canal. If you are the first to cross the line, your team wins. The other team loses and one of their members gets kicked out of the game. | ” |

The Goiky Canal is a canal featured in Battle for Dream Island. It is a landmark in the greater location of Goiky that is over 500 miles wide.
Coverage[]
In Total Firey Points, it was called the Pamana Canal[sic], which is a misspelling of a real-life location, the Panama Canal.
It was featured in "Take the Plunge: Part 2" when the teams had to cross over it in order to get to the finish line during the challenge.
In "Barriers and Pitfalls", Flower was seen flying over it.
During "Get Digging", in an attempt to go to Yoyleland to get Yoyleberries, Gelatin, Needle, and Puffball were crossing it on the way there. The Squishy Cherries' broken boat from "Take the Plunge: Part 2" and Woody's corpse appear floating in the water as cameos.
In "It's a Monster", the FreeSmarters went through the Goiky Canal by using the HPRC to recover dead members constantly and throwing the dead bodies out of the FreeSmart Supervan while an eerie soundtrack was playing in the background. The soundtrack sounded like a foghorn making noise in a deep ocean but it is actually a song that has been slowed down and low-pitched. They finished crossing in "The Long-lost Yoyle City".
The Goiky Canal plays a major role in the challenge in "Fishes and Dishes", where Teardrop combined with the Goiky Canal for 9 minutes and 55 seconds.
Trivia[]
- It was not until "Gardening Zero" that a character has mentioned that they live in Goiky, being Fanny.
- Goiky is on Earth, even though no humans or recognizable organisms are present. However, it is unknown what continent it is located on.
- This is debatable, as David is occasionally referred to as a human, and there have been many human-like recommended characters.
- Fish can also be seen in the Goiky Canal.
- It is unknown whether or not Dream Island is part of Goiky.
- It is speculated that Bubble and Cloudy's accent are native to Goiky.
- Hence the reason most of Bubble's stressed vowels are replaced with "oi" (Goiky) (Yoyle), and why these 2 words sound alien.
- This is Michael Huang's favourite place which was exposed in the 2019 BFDI and II meetup.
- The area of Goiky (and the rest of earth) is able to be heavily stretched because Donut stretched it through the camera. This may be through the factor of Four.
- The Goiky Canal is the second landmark ever mentioned in BFDI, preceded by Dream Island.
- Real-life canals cannot be more than 500 miles wide; those would be considered straits or seas. This might be a misnomer.
- It is unknown if the Goiky Canal is man-made or not.
- Much of North Goiky's flora, mainly in the Grasslands, such as its grass and trees, were damaged during the events of "Don't Dig Straight Down". The lava was mostly drained during the events of "The Four is Lava", but the grass and trees were burnt.
- The area of North Goiky roughly resembles the shape of the U.S state of North Carolina. It is unknown if it's a coincidence or intentional.
- Goiky has a set of laws, seen in several BFDI episodes.
- In Goiky, it is mostly sunny, and it has only rained once. It has also been windy once, but only because of the nuclear fusion inside Needle's Cake.
- It is possible that the game Tidepool takes place in the Goiky Canal, as some of the monsters found in Tidepool also appeared in Take the Plunge/Part 2 and Barriers and Pitfalls.
- In BFDIA 5d, a string of drowned bodies are created at the bottom of the Goiky Canal, by members of FreeSmart repeatedly drowning and recovering each other. In "Fishes and Dishes", these bodies are seen at various points throughout the episode, but they are darkened and limbless, implying they are in the process of decomposing.
- Goiky is made up of two islands, similarly to the real-life country of New Zealand.
- It is implied to be an empire, as Fries tells Nickel that he should "message the emperor". This may only be a title or nickname, however.
- The demonym of Goiky is "Goikian(s)".
