Announcer: Hey guys, I'm back. Who's this? An impostor?

Firey Speaker Box: No, no, no, I'm your replacement.

Host substitute is a recurring gag in the Battle for Dream Island series, where a character temporarily takes place in hosting due to the original season host being missing in some way.

Coverage[]

BFDI[]

In "Don't Pierce My Flesh", Spongy accidentally kills the Announcer. Bubble asks what they should do without him, and Firey suggests using his replacement speaker box. Flower disagrees, saying that hers is better, breaking into an argument. Leafy suggests on having them both host, but they all disagree. After seeing no reason why, Firey then accepts.

In "Hurtful!", Flower attempts to kill Firey Speaker Box with a bowling ball for bothering her, but he ends up dodging it, and the ball kills Flower Speaker Box instead, leaving with only Firey Speaker Box hosting. After the Announcer Recovery Center is built and the Announcer returns, he accuses Firey Speaker Box of being an impostor, but the latter claims he was just a substitute for while the former was gone.

BFB[]

In "Four Goes Too Far", A Better Name Than That realizes that Four's actions were aggressive and comes up with a plan, by multiplying him by zero, using Donut due to his shape. After their plan worked and Four is gone, Pin questions on how they will know the contest. It is then decided that Donut will be the host, as he had the factor of Four within him.

In "This Episode Is About Basketball", it was revealed that X was hiding the whole time. Donut had enough of hosting and lets X host instead.

In "Enter the Exit", the contestants decide to bring Four back, as he was the only one who can recover people and has the prize, which then becomes the contest. After Four is brought back, he tells X he did a good job at hosting, and sends David to the EXIT. Clock then tells Four the contestants that were dead and eliminated, making Four recover them and/or sending them to the EXIT, and the season continues normally.

TPOT[]

In "The Power of Four" due to Gaty's disappearance, Two didn't feel like hosting and has Four and X host instead.

When Two returns to hosting is currently unknown.

Trivia[]

  • BFDIA is the only season with no host substituting, due to the hosts constantly changing throughout the season.
