Ice Cube's ugly face is a recurring gag in the Battle for Dream Island series. It is a face commonly used by Ice Cube where somebody wildly flails their tongue around, which is seen as ugly. Alternatively, if the person making the face is upside-down, the face is seen as beautiful instead, due to it being inverted.
Usage[]
The ugly face is first used in "Get Digging", where Ice Cube makes the face to Match and Pencil's disgust.
In "Intruder Alert", Ice Cube is seen making the ugly face when licking her balloon to help pop it.
In "Catch These Hands" one of Ice Cube's gestures is her "beautiful face". She begins doing the ugly face, and then inverts it by going upside down and turning the ugly face into her "beautiful face", an inverted version of the ugly face.
In "Taste the Sweetness", when Ice Cube turns herself over while making the face, it turns into a "beautiful face" like the previous episode. Everyone else (other than Golf Ball, until she is forced to, and Fries) decide to for a team revolved around it, called The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute, which was created for their mutual admiration of the beautiful face.
In "Lots of Mud", while Ice Cube is doing the face, Golf Ball flips her over to show the other contestants that the beautiful face was an ugly face the whole time.
In "Well, Look Who It Is!", Ice Cube does the face as she licks the cake inside the bakery.
In "Start the Shift", Coiny does the face as he licks the birthday cake off of himself so that his team can complete the challenge.
In "Launch Party", while nobody makes the ugly face, Ice Cube mentions it when she says that everyone hates Leafy and that she is uglier than her ugly face.
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", Woody does the face after Nickel tells him to tongue it.
In "Out of the Blue", while Ice Cube's ugly face itself doesn't appear in the episode, the ugly face is mentioned when Bracelety asks Pencil if the next class can be Ice Cube class. Pencil tells her that it can be as long as they don't study her "eww--UGLY FACE..." as she reacts in a disgusted tone.
In "I SAID CAREFUL!!!", the face appears three times. It is first used when Grassy does a variation of it when he is declared first safe at Cake at Stake, and then done properly shortly afterwards by Ice Cube when she is safe. It is also used by Pillow later during the challenge.

- The teams W.O.A.H. Bunch (Water's Open Aperture Hater Bunch; Second Iteration) and The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute were modelled after this gag.
- W.O.A.H Bunch (Second Iteration) being against it, and The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute being oriented positively towards it.
- The team logos for Fries and Nickel use the "beautiful face" much like The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute, the logos for the three teams have the characters appear upside down like the beautiful face.
