“ | Wake up! *intense banging* Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert! | ” |
— Ruby

"Intruder Alert" is the 7th episode of Battle for Dream Island Again, the 32nd episode in in-universe order, and the 70th episode of the overall series. It was released on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 3:10:00 PM PST (GMT-8). Eliminated contestants will no longer be sent to the Tiny Loser Chamber (TLC) inside the Locker of Losers (LOL), since IDFB shows that none of the current contestants were sent there; they instead get sent to the Weak Trembling Fortress (WTF) built by Tennis Ball from Team No-Name.

Plot[]
Cold open[]
The episode starts with a 3D version of the Firey Speaker Box in space along with the 17 contestants on each square saying hello, but in a catchy poem. Later on, the scene changes to W.O.A.H. Bunch's creation in BFDIA 4. FSB does a dramatic intro before Fries questions why that fancy intro was added. The Firey Speaker Box explains that he had extra money. Then, the screen pans to Coiny and Nickel unconscious with a money portal, showing how the budget went higher. The Firey Speaker Box tells Fries that his friend Lewis, who looks like David with an upside-down head, had won the lottery and gave him money. Now that the show has a bigger budget, Fries requests TV to produce a higher-quality Cake at Stake intro. TV does, but instead simply smashes his screen against a piano. Fries tells TV that the Cake at Stake intro was absolutely horrendous, but Gelatin told him that all musicians deserve a second chance. When Golf Ball tells TV to give up TV tries again by using a video game clip form The Yogscast called Minecraft - Cake Defence at 14 minutes and 28 seconds in the video. he failed so horribly at it, that finally pushes her over the edge and demands the Firey Speaker Box to eliminate him. He does so, and TV is flung to the Locker of Losers, but before landing inside, he steals the key to ensure that no other future eliminated contestants would go there as well. Team No-Name then cheers and the Firey Speaker Box is relieved.
Cake at Stake[]
After the intro plays, FreeSmart, who is still in the air from the previous episode, is still recording their video diary, before Ruby catches a passing Yoylelite meteorite. The Firey Speaker Box then travels to the Aerospace Manufacturing Plant where Evil Leafy is still attempting to attack W.O.A.H. Bunch. He activates a tranquilizer gun and fires at Evil Leafy with a freeze juice syringe, causing her to sink and fall into the flooding building below.
The votes are then calculated before Firey Speaker Box draws a graph on the wall as a result of TV's elimination. Bomby wins the prize and is painted purple by the color wheel's choice. Yellow Face, from seeing purple, gets a flashback of Purple Face.
Moving on to the elimination round, Coiny is the first safe contestant, followed by Pin, Nickel, Needle and Bomby. This leaves the three armless contestants at stake with Yellow Face being the sixth safe. Spongy is declared the final one safe as he sorrowfully says goodbye to Rocky. Rocky is then flung, but because the LOL's door is shut, he only bounces off of it somewhere else.
Before the contest[]
After Coiny realizes that Rocky didn't go in the Locker of Losers, the Firey Speaker Box then attempts to pry the door open with his grappling hook. Sadly, this attempt failed due to TV snatching the key earlier, resulting in it being stuck inside the TLC. After the Firey Speaker Box and Golf Ball complain with the lack of an elimination area, Fries spins the challenge wheel. Still, FreeSmart is absent and the four end up popping each other's balloons when the contest lands on "Build a new loser chamber".
The Firey Speaker Box explains the rule where the teams have two hours to construct a new loser chamber and fill it to the brim with booby traps. Whoever has the best loser chamber will win, while the one who has the worst will be up for elimination. Then, Firey Speaker Box notices the falling FreeSmarters and Tennis Ball notices that Ruby is holding a piece of Yoylelite in her hands. Ruby then tells Tennis Ball that she's keeping the Yoylelite for the members of FreeSmart only, so Tennis Ball comes up with an idea to have Firey switch over to their team to get it, promising of letting him switch back next episode. Firey happily obliges and takes Gelatin with him before Fries recommends to mess with them as well.

Contest[]
The contest begins and Golf Ball instructs Tennis Ball and Fries that they should go to the Yoyle Woodlands to deforest trees for their loser chamber. FreeSmart, after landing, notices that they missed the contest's instructions; the Firey Speaker Box refuses to inform about missing them by stating that they had to be there when it was announced. And so, they would have to do all the challenges on the wheel to find out which is it. Meanwhile, Yellow Face sneaks up on Bomby and kidnaps him. Firey and Gelatin comment on the FreeSmart members being unconscious, except for Ruby. Ruby then notices that Firey and Gelatin had suddenly joined their team so that they can get their hands on her Yoylelite, prompting her to wake up her fellow alliance members. Pencil then excludes Firey and Gelatin before both say that they know the episode's contest, therefore prompting the alliance to forgive them and value their usefulness. Firey and Gelatin then have the idea to mess with them by telling them the wrong contest as the wheel continues to spin.
Pin suggests that W.O.A.H. Bunch's loser chamber should be farm-themed because she says that everybody hates farms, but Yellow Face and Nickel disagree. Nickel then asks Spongy and Needle for ideas. Needle brings up the idea of using the spaceships from the warehouse for their loser chamber. When they get there, they notice that water is covering the ships. Coiny has brought straws to drink the water away. Needle complains that the water tastes bad, but Coiny disapproves. Yellow Face then advertises grape powder to make the water taste better. Needle refuses, making Yellow Face propose a gradually higher discount value; Needle still refuses. Pin reacts in her mind that their team needs a better leader. Coiny somehow reads Pin's mind, shocking her.
During the contest, Team No-Name is walking to the Yoyle Woodlands. Golf Ball commands her team to kick trees, saw wood planks and glue. Fries instead glues Golf Ball to a tree, annoying Golf Ball. Fries argues that she never specified what to glue to what. Golf Ball then notices that her team is smaller and also notices that Tennis Ball is sweating, suggesting that he is behind the missing team members.
Back to FreeSmart, Firey and Gelatin tell FreeSmart that the contest wheel landed on "do 60 jumping jacks", "eat 700 Yoyle bush leaves", "shatter 2,000 windows" and then "step foot on 3 different planets". Each time, FreeSmart does the challenges but fails to win because it wasn't the right one. Firey then tells FreeSmart that the contest is to "kill all your teammates" despite it not being on the wheel. Gelatin tells him that FreeSmart wouldn't fall for it. Ruby melts Ice Cube, rips Book apart, and sharpens Pencil to death. Once Ruby tells the Firey Speaker Box that she killed the rest of FreeSmart, he comments that she had gone absolutely mad, with Ruby agreeing.
In the Yoyle Woodlands. Golf Ball is disappointed in Tennis Ball for making Firey and Gelatin switch teams. Tennis Ball tells her that they promised to switch back next episode and that he sent them to FreeSmart to collect Ruby's Yoylelite. Golf Ball changes her mind about the switch and then talks intensely about the Yoylelite. Fries becomes annoyed at her and walks away.
Yellow Face is continuing to increase his discount value that is going higher than 100%. Needle finally accepts at 200%. Yellow Face gives Needle the grape powder and the discount money. She then uses the powder to flavor of the water, which she, Pin and Coiny comment is much better to drink. They succeed in drinking away all of the water. Then, Coiny and Needle dismantle the ships. Pin comments that it's sad to dismantle the spaceships just for a contest. They dismantle Pin as well. Following Nickel's instructions, they build the loser chamber using the metal scraps, adding handcuffs, crushers, chainsaws, and posters of Flower's face. Needle comments on the level of cruelty of the punishments. Nickel answers that the Firey Speaker Box said the more secure, the better. Spongy asks Nickel what if he was eliminated. Nickel says that it may sound harsh, but if he is eliminated, he wants to endure the torment that he deserves so he adds more crushers.
Back in the Yoyle Woodlands, Golf Ball and Tennis Ball discuss about the Yoylelite before the Firey Speaker Box announces the last five minutes of the challenge. This prompts Tennis Ball to hastily construct a loser chamber out of the wooden planks.
Meanwhile, Ruby recovers her teammates before Firey tells FreeSmart that the contest is to "burn down Yoyle City". Gelatin tells Firey to stop messing around with FreeSmart since he joined the team to get Ruby's Yoylelite; Ice Cube becomes more skeptical of the two.
Time then runs out as the Firey Speaker Box jets over to the Yoyle Woodlands to judge Tennis Ball's loser chamber and gives it a 2/10, calling it a Weak Trembling Fortress, much to the latter's dismay. He then flies into the Aerospace Manufacturing Plant and finds that W.O.A.H. Bunch went overload with the torture devices and Flower posters. Impressed, he scores them a 9/10 and finally jets to FreeSmart to find out that they've been wasting time thanks to Firey and Gelatin. He gives them a 0/10, resulting in the team going up for elimination. Firey then begs Ruby for her Yoylelite only for her response to be that he and Gelatin haven't earned their FreeSmart tenure yet.
Stinger[]
Fries asks the Firey Speaker Box what loser chamber Rocky would fall in, since he was eliminated earlier in the episode. It switches to W.O.A.H. Bunch where Coiny congratulates the team for winning. In celebration, Needle feeds everyone fiery hot chili peppers, but because of the peppers, Coiny starts to feel sick, with Everyone in W.O.A.H. Bunch except Yellow Face realizing Yellow Face used Bomby's gunpowder as grape flavoring during the contest. Yellow Face says that it’s because Bomby was purple and that he did not know anything. Needle calls him a murderer. Nickel says that fiery hot chilli peppers and gunpowder in his stomach is not a good combo. All the WOAH Bunchers explode, which also destroys their loser chamber in the process. Firey Speaker Box notices this and says that Rocky will have to fall into Tennis Ball's loser chamber, the WTF. Fries exclaims WTF, and Firey Speaker Box says that he is correct. Rocky lands inside the WTF and the episode ends.

Trivia[]
- This is the first and currently only BFDIA episode with challenges that aren’t coming from a wheel.
- In this case, it's 2 of FreeSmart's fake challenges, which are "kill all your teammates" and "burn down Yoyle City".
- Bomby is the first male BFDIA debuter to win a prize.
- This is the first episode to reach over 100,000 votes, giving speculation that the series might have a 6th season in the future.
- Since Rocky was eliminated in "Balancing P.A.C.T.", this episode marks the first time a contestant has been eliminated twice in a row out-of-universe-wise.
- His elimination here was also referenced in said episode as being "a long time ago", despite their real-world releases being only 21 days apart.
- This is the 2nd BFDIA episode to be rendered in 4K.
- This is the first BFDIA episode where every contestant received more likes than dislikes.
- This is the first episode with 5 digit likes and dislikes.
- This is the first time a contestant was eliminated with more likes than dislikes since Teardrop in BFDIA 4.
- This is the first BFDIA episode to have a male eliminated since Donut in "Get Digging".
- This episode has a new chamber for eliminated contestants was formed, the Weak Trembling Fortress (Acronym WTF).
- Due to TV being eliminated and taking the key for the TLC/LOL, Donut, Dora, Teardrop, Match, & Puffball have been permanently eliminated, if a rejoin happens in a future BFDIA episode, the eliminated contestants from the TLC/LOL won’t count due to them being locked in the TLC/LOL.
- This is the first episode since BFDIA 5c to have Needle die in it.
- As of BFDIA 7, the 7th word said is "it". Therefore, the current message is "Don't try that thing again, because it—".
- This is the 4th BFDIA episode in a row to feature a FreeSmart member on the thumbnail, in this case, Ruby.
- This episode further proves Rocky's ability to speak, as he said “Hi!”, “Weeee!”, and “Ooof!” As such, this is the fourth time Rocky spoke.
- This doesn't make sense, because Tennis Ball said that Rocky forgot how to talk in Sweet Tooth, but this may be due to his vomit removing him from speaking.
- Additionally, Rocky's "Weeee!" and "Ooof!" lines were reused from "Take the Plunge: Part 1".
- This is the first time W.O.A.H. Bunch didn't have anyone switch to their team after Cake at Stake.
- This episode takes place 19-20 days after "Well Rested", as it is Day 20 of the video diary and in Well Rested, it is Day 1.
- The episode was featured on YouTube's "Trending" page, peaking at #4 in both the US and Canada.[1]
- This makes it the first episode of BFDIA to be on trending, and the third episode of BFDI overall after "What Do You Think of Roleplay?" and "Gardening Zero".
- The Inanimate Insanity episode released the day prior, "Blue Buried", was also trending in the US, marking the first time two Object Show-related videos were on YouTube's Trending page.
- This is the first overall episode in the BFDI series since "Enter the Exit" to have two different intros in the same episode.
- The piano music played at the credits is shirtsong, the same song that played during the BFDI Shop promo.
- It's also the first and only BFDIA episode to use an original track.
- This is the first BFDIA episode where FreeSmart is up for elimination.
- Chronologically, this episode takes place on September 20, 2013.
- Lollipop, Pillow and TV have their old designs used here. This is probably because it was set in 2013, when the old assets were still used. Despite this, Balloony's BFDIA 13+ head asset was used as FreeSmart's balloons.
- Bomby's death is the only death that happens offscreen.
- Spongy survived this Cake at Stake with the same amount of votes that Leafy got to rejoin in "Get to the Top in 500 Steps".
- On the "W.O.A.H. Bunch" sign used for the team as the contest wheel is being spun, the letters of the name are colored to represent their meaning. The W is bronze like Coiny (who can roll like a wheel), the O is red like Pin (who sweats ooze), and the A is beige while the H is black (to represent Donut and his hole respectively, because he has a hole).
- The [2]3D intro files are public
Elimination[]
- Due to Rocky getting eliminated, he is the first season 1 male and member of Another Name to be eliminated in BFDIA.
- He is also the first male member of Team No-Name to be eliminated.
- He is also the second male to get eliminated in BFDIA. The first being Donut.
- He is also the second armless contestant to be eliminated. The first being Puffball.
- Rocky is the third original season 1 contestant to be eliminated. The first two being Teardrop and Match.
- Rocky is the first future member of Beep and The S! to be eliminated.
- With Rocky eliminated, he is the third member of W.O.A.H. Bunch to be eliminated. The first two were Donut in "Get Digging" and Teardrop in "Zeeky Boogy Doog".
- Coincidentally, Rocky is the lowest ranking season 1 male in both this episode and TPOT 8.
- This also makes him the first contestant to be eliminated in back-to-back episodes by release date.
- Rocky is the second member of the Squashy Grapes to be eliminated. The first was Teardrop.
- Rocky is the second contestant voiced by Cary Huang to be eliminated. The first was Match.
Continuity references[]
- Spongy refers to Rocky as his frisbee partner when he gets eliminated, referencing the contest in "The Reveal".
- The Firey Speaker Box counting the number of times a digit was used is a reference to the BFDI episodes "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?" and "Sweet Tooth".
- During the montage of Fries, Golf Ball and Tennis Ball going to the Yoyle Woodlands, they walk through The Desert with the giant money bag from "The Long-lost Yoyle City" still there and the rainbow obstacle course from the same episode, along with the shattered bowl of petunias from "No More Snow!" in the Evil Forest.
- Fries and Golf Ball's "Go! Go! Go! Go!" when Firey Speaker Box is sending TV to the TLC is re-used from "Return of the Hang Glider" when Leafy was about to be crushed.
- Firey Speaker Box telling Rocky to go "rock out" inside the TLC is a reference to Dora's elimination in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3".
- One of the prizes on the prize wheel is a "Cow-er Cow", a reference to the cow prize from "Well Rested".
- Gelatin being called "Blob boy" by Tennis Ball (and later Book) is another reference to that episode where Golf Ball calls him the same thing.
- Another notable prize on the prize wheel is "A Red Balloon", probably referencing Lofty. During that episode's challenge, the Announcer gave the Squishy Cherries pink balloons instead of red balloons because they were too expensive.
- Yellow Face's line about 10,000 people not getting his family discounts is partly a reference to an identical line spoken by Flower in "The Glistening".
- The scene where Pin says the TLC being locked up is "no big deal" only for Firey Speaker Box to say "yes big deal" likely references a scene where a similar conversation between Pin and Fanny occurs in the TPOT episode "Gardening Zero".
- When Ice Cube tries to pop her balloon, she makes the same "ugly face" that she made in "Get Digging".
- Pin's idea to make a farm-themed loser chamber is a reference to "Zeeky Boogy Doog" when the team creates a farm-themed Dream Island. The structure shown in Firey Speaker Box's fancy intro is the same farm Dream Island.
- Yellow Face saying "Pin! I'm not gonna say "yay" to that. That idea sucks." in response is another reference to that episode, where he said "YAAAAAY!!!!" when Pin said that W.O.A.H. Bunch's Dream Island should be farm-themed.
- Golf Ball telling Firey Speaker Box to send TV to the TLC and then threatening to have Firey Speaker Box be sent there as well is also a callback to that same episode where Golf Ball commands Tennis Ball to send Pencil to the incinerator of her underground factory and then threatening to have Match be sent there as well.
- Book mentioning that Firey once called her "well-read" is yet another reference to the episode.
- The Firey Speaker Box revealing he had a budget surplus is a reference to the Announcer's "budget cut" running gag.
- Coiny and Nickel creating a portal of infinite money is a callback to "The Long-lost Yoyle City" where Pin and Needle do the exact same.
- Yellow Face telling Bomby that he doesn't know anything due to him being purple is a reference to his Non-Slip Shoes So Ha commercial from "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2". A flashback to that commercial is also featured in this episode.
- Pin getting smacked by her slice of cake after Firey Speaker Box throws it at her is a reference to "Get in the Van", where the same thing occurs when Firey Speaker Box gives her team pieces of Donut's corpse for winning the preceding episode's challenge.
- FreeSmart's fake challenge strategies in this episode are likely a reference to Iance's challenge strategy to jump high during the basket challenge in the BFB episode "Getting Teardrop to Talk". Coincidentally, FreeSmart and Iance were both put up for elimination in those 2 episodes respectively.
- Additionally, some of their fake challenges involved them breaking 2,000 windows, eating 700 Yoyle Bush leaves, doing 60 jumping jacks, and stepping foot on 3 planets, a reference to 2,763. However, it was out of order. It went in this order: 60, 700, 2000, 3.
- A reference to the season's title (BFDIA) was shown in the same scene, as they said "We beat the other teams", "We finished it", "We did it", "We inhabited them" and "I assassinated them" respectively.
- TV's continues to create a new Cake at Stake theme song similar to how he does it in "Get Digging" and "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3".
- Needle calling Yellow Face a murderer after he killed Bomby is similar to how Pencil reacted to the Announcer after he popped Bubble in "Cycle of Life".
- One of Firey Speaker Box's examples for the dungeons bears a striking resemblance to the box in which Purple Face was imprisoned in "Let's Raid The Warehouse" and "Fashion For Your Face!".
- Ruby stating that erasers don't have brains is a callback to "Return of the Hang Glider", in which Eraser states the same thing.
- When Firey Speaker Box called Pencil "Pence-Pence" there is an appearing hand, slapping the speaker box. This is possibly Match's hand, as reference from her line, "Only I call her Pence-Pence." in "Puzzling Mysteries".
Cultural references[]
- The first song that plays is "Ether" by melodysheep, who is well known for his video "Timelapse of the Future."
- One of the suggested Cake at Stake theme songs by TV directly samples a Minecraft video by "The Yogscast" called "Minecraft - Cake Defence", which was released on November 30, 2011.
- Lewis is possibly named after Lewis Brindley, one of the founding members of the Yogscast.
- The Locker of Losers key resembles the key from Super Mario World.
- Innuendo: When Firey Speaker Box reveals the votes before the 6th digit, which says 2, appears (69,548), Coiny wishes that the vote count was 128 numbers lower. If you take 128 from the vote count, it results in 69,420.
- Bomby exclaiming "I love being purple!" references the same phrase by Patrick Star, who said the same thing in the Spongebob Squarepants Movie in response to him and Spongebob partying until they're purple.
- Yellow Face exclaiming "I'M IN YOUR WALLS!" is an obvious reference to the "I am living in your walls" meme.
- When Pin gets her cake and the cake drowns. The sound played is the same one used when a player fishes in Minecraft.
- The title of the episode and Firey's line "Time to unleash my inner spy!" may be a reference to Team Fortress 2's "Meet The Spy" short, as it begins with the opening line "Intruder Alert! A RED Spy is in the base!" Additionally, Firey Speaker Box refers to the dungeons as "fortresses" in the line directly after.
Deaths[]
- Evil Leafy debatably drowned in the Aerospace Manufacturing Plant.
- Bomby was murdered by Yellow Face offscreen for being purple and was turned into grape-flavored drink mix afterwards.
- Ruby melted Ice Cube, ripped Book apart, and sharpened Pencil to death.
- Coiny and Needle rip Pin apart.
- W.O.A.H. Bunch, except for Bomby, Pin and Rocky, drank Bomby's gunpowder and ate chili peppers, causing them to explode.
Goofs[]
- Unless Book is sharing the scream of another character (most likely Pencil, due to the similar voice and the fact that both characters are voiced by Michael Huang), no scream could be heard coming from her as she and the other FreeSmart members are falling.
- When Firey Speaker Box checks W.O.A.H. Bunch's loser chamber, the second set of crushers are missing.
- When W.O.A.H. Bunch (Besides Bomby) cheers after sucking up all of the water, Spongy's mouth isn't puffy like it usually is. Rather, it uses a normal mouth asset.
