Kevin MacLeod is an American composer and musician. MacLeod has composed over 2,000 pieces of royalty-free library music and made them available under a Creative Commons copyright license.

His licensing options allow anyone to use his music for free as long as he receives attribution (credit), which has led to his music being used in thousands of films. His music has been used in some commercial video games such as Kerbal Space Program and videos by online content creators such as Bernadette Banner, The BlueMilk Podcast, Caddicarus, CollegeHumor, Fact Fiend, Good Mythical Morning, Hydraulic Press Channel, and Niilo22.

His music was used mainly in BFDI, BFDIA, and IDFB, and was then used in post-split BFB along with other actual BFDI OST music. It is currently rarely used in some TPOT episodes and in every BFDIA episode.

Kevin MacLeod was brought onto the show as a special guest actor, voicing Pan Flute in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4". He voices a music composer, a nod to his real life occupation. One of Ruby's sisters even proclaims "I'm a huge fan of his royalty free music!" meaning the character shares this distinction with his actor.
