A challenge refers to a hard task, or game, that has to be done for a team, or contestant, to be safe. Challenges are used to determine who will be up for elimination.

BFDI Mini[]
BFDI Mini is a non-canonical series that follows a formula similar to that of the main BFDI series, but with smaller, shorter challenges and a considerably smaller cast of contestants.
BFDI Mini episodes are typically named after that episode's challenge. Each challenge, the contestants are given thirty seconds. The 2 contestants who do not complete the challenge in time are up for elimination.
BFDI Mini[]
BFDI Mini begins the series with contestants being given thirty seconds to complete each challenge given to them. Contestants are allowed to use their abilities to their advantage.
- "Climb the Eiffel Tower": To climb the Eiffel Tower.
- "Touch The Target": To hit the target.
- "Eating Contest": To eat chocolate balls, similar to "Sweet Tooth".
- "Hurdles": To jump over hurdles and reach the goal.
- "Water Gun Battle": A water gun fight.
- "Don't Fall Off": To avoid falling off the Eiffel Tower.
- "Try To Escape": To find a way out of the escape room.
BFDI Mini Again[]
BFDI Mini Again follows a similar formula to the first season with mainly new contestants and two returning contestants.
- "Throw The Farthest": To throw your teammate the farthest.
- "Swim to the Other Side": Swim to the other side of a long pool.
- "Egg Toss": Throw an egg at your picture.
- "Drawing Contest": To draw the best picture.
- "Jump The Highest": To jump the highest level into the air.
- "Build The Tallest Tower": To build the tallest tower.
- "Bake A Pizza": To bake a pizza.
- "Fighting Contest": To fight each other.
- "Tic Tac Toe": To play tic-tac-toe.
BFDI Mini Deluxe[]
BFDI Mini Deluxe follows a similar formula to the first two seasons with the gimmick of all the characters being from season 4.
- "Don't Let Your Flag Get Destroyed": To not let your flag get destroyed.
- "Go Kart Race": To win the go-kart race.
- "Don't Let Your Balloon Touch the Ground": To not let the balloon you are inside of touch the ground.
- "Flour Is Lava": To avoid the flour in a flour bag.
- "Keep Your Tag": To keep your tag.
- "Climb the Tallest Tower": To climb the tallest tower.
- "Hold Your Breath": A rejoin contest where the eliminated contestants must hold their breath for as long as possible.
- "Rock Climbing": To climb the rocks.
- "Capture the Flag": Capture the opposing team's flag.
- "Stay on the Balance Beam": To avoid falling off the balance beam.

BFDI Mini, Seriously![]
BFDI Mini, Seriously! introduces a cast of Davidians, who can use their abilities to their advantage. The formula is similar to the first three seasons.
- "Cross The River": Find a way to cross the river.
- "Escape The Flood": Escape a large flood.
- "Reverse Race": Cross the finish line whilst running backwards.
- "Do a Headstand": Do a headstand without falling.
- "Catch The Frogs": Catch all the frogs as quickly as possible.
- "Destroy The Army of Purple Heads (and survive)": Destroy as many purple heads as possible, and survive.
- "Rejoin! Go to the Moon": Make it to the moon as fast as possible to be eligible for rejoin.
- "Find The Pearl": To find the pearl in a hotel-like maze. Tools and items are able to be used for the contestant's benefit.
- "Staring Contest": Stare at the opponent for as long as possible without blinking.
- "Climb 24 Steps": Climb up a set of 24 steps.
- "Find The Trophy and WIN!": Find the hidden trophy to win the season.
BFDI Mini Delicious[]
BFDI Mini Delicious introduces pairs and alliances with a cast of all food based characters. Most alliances choose to assist each other. The formula is similar to the first four seasons.
- "Balloon Toss": Catch the balloon thrown by your teammate.
- "Survive the Desert": Survive in the desert.
- "Stay on the Balance Beam": Stay on the balance beam.
- "Screaming Contest": Scream as fast as possible.
- "Hide and Seek": An eliminated contestant is the seeker; avoid getting caught.
- "Red Light, Green Light": Stop moving when the Robot David displays a red light. Continue moving when the Robot David displays a green light.
- "Last to Leave the Circle": Don't leave the circle to rejoin.
- "Musical Chairs": Play musical chairs. Try to find a seat when the music stops.
- "Eat the Most Pancakes": Eat as much pancakes as possible.
- "Freeze Tag": The seeker will attempt to tag and freeze the contestants; avoid getting caught.
- Don't Die: Don't die to win the season. The contestants are allowed to use weapons.
BFDI Mini Replicas[]
BFDI Mini Replicas is the first mini-season to be animated in the pre-BFB style and has a cast of entire characters who are variants of main series contestants.
