This is an overview of the recommended characters who were eligible to debut for Battle for Dream Island. See the respective character's articles for more detailed information.
8-Ball[]
- Main article: 8-Ball
8-Ball is a male object contestant on Battle for BFDI and was one of the 30 recommended characters who had a chance to join the game during "The Reveal". However, in "Reveal Novum", he failed to become a contestant, coincidentally getting only 8 votes, tied with Book.
8-Ball also had a chance to join Battle for Dream Island Again, but he failed yet again, with only 154 votes and was tossed into the TLC. He had a chance to join IDFB, but he tied with Marker and Pie with 110 votes. He also becomes a bit brighter in his new asset.
He competed in Battle for BFDI on the team 'A Better Name Than That' until he was coincidentally eliminated in the eighth episode of BFB, "Questions Answered", with 4,814 votes.
He also appears in Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.
Balloony[]
- Main article: Balloony
Balloony is a male contestant in Battle for BFDI and was one of the 30 recommended characters that had a chance at joining the game during "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum". However, he failed to get into the game, receiving only 6 votes.
Balloony also had a chance to join BFDIA, but only got 102 votes, and was flung to the TLC.
Balloony, along with the other characters in the TLC, had a chance to debut in IDFB, but didn't get enough votes to join, with 71 votes. His new asset features him in a jade color, a squiggly string and he's slightly shorter.
Balloony competed in BFB on Beep and was a member of Have Cots, before his elimination in "Take the Tower".
Barf Bag[]

Barf Bag is a female contestant in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two and was one of the former 30 recommended characters who had a chance at joining Battle for Dream Island during "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum", but she failed to get in the game, only receiving only 3 votes, along with Naily, Tree, and Saw.
Barf Bag also appeared with Taco in "Vomitaco" as a representation of the Barf Bag Challenge.
Barf Bag also had a chance to join BFDIA, but placed 52nd with only 78 votes, and was once again flung to the LOL.
Barf Bag, along with the other TLC prisoners, had a chance to join IDFB, but she only got 293 votes. In "Welcome Back", Tennis Ball suggesting freeing her from the TLC first because then, he could finally contain Rocky's vomit. She also gets a new asset which is tan. She's also shorter.
Barf Bag was one of the 64 competitors in BFB, as a member of Team Ice Cube!, but switched to TPOT in "The Escape from Four". She is now competing as a member of Team8s.
Basketball[]

Basketball is a female contestant in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two. She was first recommended in "A Leg Up in the Race" in BFDI. She is also one of the thirty recommended characters who got the chance to join the game during "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum". She failed to join receiving only 5 votes and placing 22nd, along with Clock.
Basketball also could have joined BFDIA in "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", but she only received 86 votes, placing 44th, and she was flung to the TLC.
In IDFB, Basketball, along with the other characters that were inside the LOL, had a chance to join the show via a viewer voting. Basketball was given a redesign as well, which now has a shinier look, along with lighter colors. She didn't get enough votes to join IDFB though, with only 80 votes.
Basketball finally became a contestant in BFB and competed on the team A Better Name Than That.
After switching in "The Escape from Four", Basketball is now competing in TPOT on the team The Strongest Team On Earth..
Bell[]

Bell is a female contestant in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two and was one of the 30 recommended characters who had a chance at joining the game during "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum", failing to get into the game with only 4 votes, along with Cloudy.
Bell's BFDI debut and BFDIA design is made of a brown metal, with a blue ribbon around the middle, and has a string attaching her to the top of the screen. It is unknown where the string leads to, or where it hangs from. Bell may also have the ability to detach and regain her string, as seen in multiple episodes.
Bell also failed to join BFDIA in "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", because she received only 90 votes.
Bell's IDFB redesign features a shiny metal and a hinge. Bell's ribbon is also removed. (Oddly, in the storyboards, she is still drawn with her ribbon.)
Bell had a chance to join IDFB through viewers voting, along with the other TLC prisoners. She got 41 votes.
Bell competed in BFB on the team Free Food. In TPOT, she's competing on the team The Strongest Team on Earth..
Bomby[]

Bomby is a male contestant in Battle for Dream Island Again, IDFB, Battle for BFDI, and The Power of Two.
He was the first recommended character ever shown in BFDI, first seen in "Lofty", as well as one of the 30 recommended characters that could've joined BFDI in "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum", but lost to David, becoming the runner-up of the debut. His most prominent recommenders were jaysillyboy, luigifan00001 and Englishcreamcakes.
In BFDIA, Bomby was a member of Team No-Name but later switched to W.O.A.H. Bunch in "Zeeky Boogy Doog" after being threatened to be ignited. He enjoys eating food most of the time, and he is often seen holding a slice of strawberry cake and/or a banana. Bomby's voice is sped up and high-pitched (not high-pitched anymore in BFB and TPOT), making it hard to understand him when he talks. Bomby survived season 2 long enough to appear in IDFB.
Bomby returned in BFB and competed on Team Ice Cube!. He later quit BFB in The Escape from Four.
He is currently competing in TPOT on Just Not.
Book[]

Book is a female contestant from Battle for Dream Island Again, IDFB, Battle for BFDI, and Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two. She is also the main protagonist of BFDIA 5b.
In BFDI, her name was Dictionary, and she was one of the 30 recommended characters that had a chance to join the show in "Reveal Novum". However, she only received 8 votes (along with 8-Ball) and was ineligible to join the competition. Later, when she had the chance to join BFDIA, she only earned 296 votes, which was not enough to participate at first. However, due to Leafy, Bubble, and Flower being disqualified due to not being present, she made it in along with Yellow Face and Puffball. She competed on Team No-Name and later joined Pencil's Alliance as an alternate on FreeSmart. She survived long enough to appear in IDFB.
She competed in BFB on team 
. She later quit BFB in The Escape from Four.
She is currently competing in TPOT on Just Not.
Clock[]
- Main article: Clock
Clock is a male contestant in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two. He was one of the 30 recommended characters that had a chance to join the show. He, along with Basketball, only got 5 votes and was sent to LOL.
He also had a chance to join BFDIA, but he only got 59 votes.
He had a chance to join IDFB, but he failed to join with 37 votes.
His new asset features no numbers or seconds hand, a thicker blue frame and a white inside and he now looks more modern.
Clock competed in BFB on the team "The Losers!" until he switched to TPOT.
In TPOT, Clock was on the The S! but he got eliminated in The Seven Wonders of Goiky along with Lightning.
Cloudy[]

Cloudy is a male contestant in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two.
He was a recommended character who appeared in "Don't Lose Your Marbles", "The Reveal", and "Reveal Novum" as one of the 30 recommended characters voters could vote for to join Battle for Dream Island. However, he only got 4 votes and was blown away by Fanny to the Locker of Losers along with Bell.
In Battle for Dream Island Again, he only got 97 votes and did not join the game, but he was the highest-ranking contestant to have less than 100 votes. He, along with the other eliminated contestants, was flung to the Tiny Loser Chamber.
In "Welcome Back", he got 149 votes, placing him 25th, which was not enough votes to join IDFB.
In IDFB, Cloudy got a unique asset.
In BFB, Cloudy finally got to compete and was on team Beep.
Cloudy got to compete in TPOT on The S! but he got eliminated in Gardening Zero along with Saw.
David[]
- Main article: David
David is a male contestant in Battle for Dream Island and Battle for BFDI . He was created by TDICaitlincookegroup on YouTube after 39 voters voted for him to be eliminated, even though he wasn’t up for elimination at the time.
David joined the game due to him being the recommended character with most votes in "Reveal Novum" at 102, beating Bomby at 73 votes.
David had a chance at joining IDFB in "Welcome Back". He got 1,234 votes, which was not enough to join.
He was on the team Beep in Battle for BFDI but got eliminated in "Enter the Exit" with 11,292 votes. He also makes appearances in Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.
Dora[]
- Main article: Dora
Dora was a female contestant in Battle for Dream Island Again and Battle for BFDI, and was one of the 30 recommended characters who had a chance to join Battle for Dream Island in "Reveal Novum". She failed to join with only 9 votes.
She competed in BFDIA, but was eliminated in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3". She was one of the characters trapped in the Tiny Loser Chamber in IDFB. She got 273 votes to join. She was on the team in BFB, but got eliminated in "The Four is Lava" with 11,109 votes. She also appears in Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.
She is a stick figure version of the eponymous character in Dora the Explorer. She also apparently speaks fluent Insulavoric, notorious for being one of the hardest languages to pick up. Her speech pre-BFB is incredibly fast and high-pitched. Her speech in BFB is repeatedly saying "DA".
Eggy[]
- Main article: Eggy
Eggy is a female contestant that competed in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two.
She was one of the 30 recommended characters who had a chance at joining Battle for Dream Island during "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum". She failed to join the game, however, receiving only 6 votes and placing 20th place, tying with Balloony and Pillow.
She also had 77 votes to join Battle for Dream Island Again, but placed 53rd place in the voting, and was treated with the Locker of Losers.
She is once again given a chance to debut in IDFB. Her IDFB redesign features a stout shape, where her spots are larger and are not near her face. She got 140 votes.
She finally got a chance to compete in BFB, where she joined The Losers!, but as of BFB 16,
She got to compete for TPOT on The Strongest Team on Earth but she got eliminated in The Great Goikian Bake-Off along with Fries.
Evil Leafy[]

Evil Leafy, recommended by MrOrange890, is an antagonist on BFDIA and IDFB, as well as one of the 30 recommended characters who could have been voted into the game in "The Reveal" and Battle for Dream Island Again.
Despite not receiving enough votes to join BFDIA, she appeared throughout the series as an antagonistic force. She also appears as a free character in IDFB.
She is one of the two contestants not participating in "Battle for BFDI", though she reappeared in "Four Goes Too Far" as a recommended character.
Fanny[]
- Main article: Fanny
Fanny is a female contestant in Battle for BFB and The Power of Two. She was one of the 30 recommended characters who could have joined Battle for Dream Island, and also had a chance to join Battle for Dream Island Again, but failed both times.
She had a chance to join IDFB as well, but she only got 42 votes.
In her new asset, she gains legs and is now a desk fan. She is also blue.
Fanny became a contestant in Battle for BFDI and was a member of iance, but she quit and is currently competing in Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two as a member of Death P.A.C.T. Again.
Fries[]

Fries is a male contestant in Battle for Dream Island Again, IDFB, Battle for BFDI, and The Power of Two.
He was one of the 30 recommended characters who had the opportunity to join Battle for Dream Island in "Reveal Novum", but did not receive enough votes, at 17. However, he received enough votes to participate in BFDIA, at 303 votes and survived long enough to appear in IDFB.
Fries' BFDIA - onwards asset gives him 6 thicker fries, no "B" icon and two yellow stripes on the top and bottom.
His outlines also become thicker and they're now colored.
Fries competed in BFB as a member of Free Food, but quit in BFB 16.
He got to compete for TPOT on Are You Okay but he got eliminated in The Great Goikian Bake-Off along with Eggy.
Grassy[]
- Main article: Grassy
He was one of the 30 recommended characters that could've been voted to join Battle for Dream Island. Like Remote and Pie, Grassy only received 7 votes and placed 17th place and was flung into the Locker of Losers.
Grassy could've joined BFDIA, but he only got 53 votes and was sent to the Tiny Loser Chamber.
He had another chance at joining IDFB, but he only got 138 votes, being tied with Cake.
Grassy got to compete in BFB and was on A Better Name Than That. Grassy currently competes in TPOT on The Strongest Team on Earth.
His new asset gives him 6 blades, a smooth bottom and he now is a different shade of green.
Marker[]

Marker is a male contestant on Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two.
He is one of the former 30 recommended characters that could've joined the game in episode 17, but he only got 9 votes and was sent to the LOL.
In BFDIA, he got 109 votes, which wasn't enough to join the season, so he was sent to the TLC.
In IDFB, he had a chance to join, but he only received 110 votes, tying with 8-Ball and Pie.
His new design gives Marker a cap and some outlines. He's also much shorter.
He formerly competed in BFB as a member of Free Food. He is a contestant in TPOT as a member of Death P.A.C.T. Again.
Naily[]
- Main article: Naily
Naily is a female contestant in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two. She is one of the former 30 recommended characters that could have joined BFDI and BFDIA.
Along with Tree, Barf Bag, and Saw, Naily only received 3 votes and she was flung to the Locker of Losers in "Reveal Novum".
In BFDIA, she only got 100 votes to join the season and was sent to the TLC.
Naily's IDFB redesign features a larger head and a lighter shade of gray, and her pointed end is smaller. Naily had a chance to rejoin in IDFB 2, but she only received 44 votes.
Naily competed in BFB on Team Ice Cube!, but quit in "The Escape from Four" in favor of TPOT.
She got to compete in TPOT on Just Not but she got eliminated in Fishes and Dishes along with Remote.
Nickel[]

Nickel is a male contestant on Battle for Dream Island Again, IDFB, Battle for BFDI, and The Power of Two who could have joined the game in "The Reveal". He was recommended by 4 users, and 2 other accounts of Adam Katz. He placed 3rd in voting with 43 votes and lost to Bomby and David. Nickel is also called Dime (recommended by englishcreamcakes) and Quarter (recommended by BlockyCuzco/SammyShinx).
In BFDIA, he received the 2nd most votes to join, with 892 (losing to Rocky). He was placed on Team No-Name and W.O.A.H. Bunch. Nickel survived long enough to be in IDFB. He also lost his arms.
In BFB, Nickel competed on team Beep.
In TPOT, Nickel competes on Just Not but he got eliminated in Oneirophobe's Nightmare.
Nickel is similar to the character of the same name from the object show Inanimate Insanity. While confirmed to not be the same character, they have a similar design, personality, and share a voice actor.
Nonexisty[]
- Main article: Nonexisty
Nonexisty is one of the 30 recommended characters that could've joined the game in episodes "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum". However, he only placed 8th/9th with 11 votes, tying with Robot Flower, which wasn't enough to join. He was also up for voting to join the second season, but he only got 266 votes. Even if he had gotten enough, he still would be disqualified for being absent, and was the only character not in the original BFDI cast to be disqualified.
He had another chance at joining in "Welcome Back". He got 501 votes.
He is one of the two contestants not participating in Battle for BFDI, with the other being Evil Leafy. However, he went up for voting to join Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two in "The Escape from Four".
He placed second in the voting overall, and actually almost joined due to the number of contestants being a prime number, but he didn't join since he's not a visual character, so Price Tag, who was placed third, joined instead.
Nonexisty had his own TikTok where he did stand up comedy.
Pie[]
- Main article: Pie
Pie (formerly known as Pie Man in BFDI 14) is a female contestant on Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two. She was one of the 30 recommended characters in "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum". Along with Remote and Grassy, Pie only received 7 votes, which in turn placed them at 16th and she was sent into the Locker of Losers.
In the audition tape, as well as in "Bowling, Now With Explosions!", Pie is an explosive blueberry pie, and she was used as a cake at Cake at Stake. As shown in "Getting Teardrop to Talk", all blueberries in BFDI are explosive.
In "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", Pie only received 104 votes and placed 42nd, which wasn't enough to join BFDIA and she was sent to the LOL.
In IDFB, she got 110 votes, tying with 8-Ball and Marker.
She also gains a beige crust and a silver tin.
Pie got to compete in BFB and was on the team "Death P.A.C.T.".
Pie got to compete on TPOT as a member of Death P.A.C.T. Again but she got eliminated first on The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life.
Pillow[]

Pillow is a female contestant in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two.
She was a recommended character who was up for voting to debut in "The Reveal". In the joining audition, she is taking a deep breath, in and out. However she did not receive enough votes to join in "Reveal Novum", as she only received 6 votes.
In Battle for Dream Island Again, Pillow once again did not make it. With only 79 votes, she was flung to the TLC with the other non-joining characters.
Pillow's IDFB redesign has her sides slanted, her sheet is lavender, and her inside is an orchid color.
Pillow, along with the other TLC prisoners, had a chance to join IDFB, but she didn't join with 63 votes.
In BFB, Pillow got to compete and was on Death P.A.C.T..
After the split, Pillow choose to participate in TPOT, she is on Just Not.
Remote[]

Remote is a female contestant on Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two. She was one of the 30 recommended characters in "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum". Along with Pie and Grassy, Remote only received 7 votes, which in turn placed them at 16th and she was sent into the Locker of Losers.
In "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", she only got 115 votes to join BFDIA and was sent to the TLC.
Remote had a chance to join IDFB along with the other TLC prisoners, but she failed to join with 54 votes.
She also gets a redesign which features a black shape, 7 buttons and a hexagonal shape.
Remote would finally compete in BFB on the team Death P.A.C.T..
Remote got to compete on TPOT on the team Death P.A.C.T. Again but she got eliminated in Fishes and Dishes along with Naily.
Robot Flower[]

Robot Flower is a female contestant in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two. She was one of 30 recommended characters who had a chance at joining BFDI during "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum". However, she failed to get into the game, receiving only 11 votes, and was sent to the LOL.
Robot Flower also had a chance to join BFDIA, but only got 112 votes which wasn't enough to join the game and she was flung to the TLC.
She also had another chance to join IDFB, until it was postponed, and she didn't got enough votes to join, with 88 votes. She also gained thicker outlines.
Robot Flower finally got to be a contestant in BFB and she was on ABNTT.
Robot Flower switched to TPOT in "The Escape From Four" and is competing as a member of The Strongest Team on Earth.
Roboty[]

Roboty is a contestant on Battle for BFDI. He was one of the 30 recommended characters who had a chance to join the game during "The Reveal" and "Reveal Novum". He failed to get into the game, receiving only 2 votes, which was the least and placed him 30th.
Roboty got only 50 votes to join Battle for Dream Island Again, which wasn't enough and he was flung to the Locker of Losers.
In IDFB, he got 250 votes, which is not enough votes to join IDFB. His eyes also became a lighter shade of green and red and his teeth are white.
He competed briefly in Battle for BFDI on Beep, but was eliminated in Four Goes Too Far". He will also be making appearances in Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.
Ruby[]

Ruby is a female contestant in Battle for Dream Island Again, IDFB, and Battle for BFDI.
She was also one of the 30 recommended characters that could have joined Battle for Dream Island, she placed 5th with only 22 votes. She did however get enough votes to join BFDIA. Her BFDIA design features a lighter asset, a few tints of pink and a red outline. She competed on Team No-Name before switching to FreeSmart later. She lasted long enough to be outside of the TLC in IDFB. Ruby has 35 sisters that are seen in the ABCDEFG video on Carykh.
Ruby competed in BFB on iance and the Have Cots, until she was eliminated in "A Taste of Space".
Saw[]

Saw is a female contestant in Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two.
She is one of the 30 recommended characters that could have joined Battle for Dream Island. She failed to join with only 3 votes. She was also unable to join Battle for Dream Island Again, placing the third lowest in votes.
She also had a chance to join IDFB along with the other TLC prisoners, but she received only 46 votes, tying with Tree. Her blade is now light grey and her handle is a different shade of brown.
She finally gets to compete in BFB as a contestant and a member of .
Her new design features 9 blades and the gap in her handle is no longer circular. However, in Episode 13, she gained a pink handle as she lost her brown handle in Episode 1.
Saw got to compete in The Power of Two on Team8s but she got eliminated in Gardening Zero along with Cloudy.
Taco[]
- Main article: Taco
Taco is a female contestant on Battle for BFB. She was one of the 30 recommended characters that could've joined Battle for Dream Island in "Reveal Novum". However, Taco only received 9 votes, along with Marker and Dora, and was sent to the Locker of Losers. Taco was also up for voting for Battle for Dream Island Again, but only got 159 votes and once again failed to join.
Taco first appeared in "Vomitaco" along with Barf Bag as a different version and was a representative for the taco making contest.
She had a chance to join IDFB along with the other TLC prisoners, but she only got 288 votes. She also gets a new redesign which features her with a soft shell, and 1 fish.
Taco was competing in BFB as a former member of the Have Nots and but was eliminated on "Who Stole Donut's Diary?” with only a 1-vote difference between her and Flower.
Tree[]
- Main article: Tree
Tree is a male contestant in Battle for BFB and Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two. He is one of the former 30 recommended characters featured in "The Reveal" that could have joined the game. Along with Saw, Naily, and Barf Bag, he got 3 votes in "Reveal Novum", and was flung into the LOL.
Tree had a chance to join BFDIA, but only got 49 votes, and was sent to the TLC.
Tree gained limbs in his IDFB design, along with a thinner trunk, and leaf details, and a more solid foliage structure. Tree, along with the other TLC prisoners, had the chance to join IDFB, but he didn't rejoin with only 46 votes, being tied with Saw.
Tree previously competed in BFB on the team Death P.A.C.T., but in "The Escape From Four", he switched to BFDI:TPOT, and is now competing in Death P.A.C.T. Again.
TV[]

TV is a male contestant on Battle for BFDI and The Power of Two, and one of the 30 recommended characters that could have been voted into the competition in "The Reveal". He only got 13 votes, placing him 7th in the voting and not entering the game.
In BFDIA, he only received 287 votes to join placing him 24th (21st after the contestants who weren't present were disqualified) which was extremely close but was not enough to join. However, he ended up being the host for a few episodes because Firey said he was the closest to the Announcer. He became a co-host in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3", when Puffball Speaker Box became the host.
Despite being a host, he is inside the TLC by the following season. He had another chance at joining the game in IDFB along with the other TLC prisoners until it was postponed. He got 318 votes.
In BFB, TV finally got to compete and was on team A Better Name Than That, but quit in order to compete on TPOT as a member of Are You Okay.
