Dan seems rather lazy as he plays video games for two days and a night and even ends up falling asleep while at the couch and also doesn't get up from sitting down to help his neighbour build his device. He also seems to enjoy destruction, as he records a video of himself shredding a book, a glowstick, and even his own FunCube.

In "When Video Games Malfunction!", Dan spends two entire nights playing video games on his Pintendo FunCube causing it to overheat. This causes the electricity in Dan's house to malfunction which zaps Dan's printer and causes it start creating real life versions of video game characters. He tries to think of a way to deal with the problem and deicides to call his neighbour for help. After explaining the situation to him and trying to think of a solution with him his neighbour starts working on an idea, an unknown invention. The invention just blows up in both of their faces however so Dan's neighbour gets back to work while Dan sits down against his fence and eats a packet of chips and reads A Book. His neighbour rebuilds the device and so Dan tries using it but it does nothing so instead he sets up a camera and tries recording a "Will It Shred" video. In the video he shreds his A Book, a glowstick, and his FunCube but after shredding the FunCube it blows up and causes the shredder to start shredding the video game characters. In the end he states that the moral of the story is to shred a FunCube if you have any problems.
In "The Math Machine", Dan shows off his aforementioned Math Machine, mentioning that he bought at the store for 20 dollars. He also mentions that it works pretty well. After the player puts in an equation, the machine explodes, sending him flying into a wall, covered in ashes.

- Dan appears to have an early asset of Blocky on his shirt.
- His voice is quite similar to Cary's initial voice for Ice Cube, albeit much deeper.
- In "The Math Machine", Dan reveals that he's not very good at math.

Dan's neighbour seems rather smart and is able to build devices however his devices seem to not always work. He seems willing to help Dan with his problem despite finding the situation unbelievable.

In "When Video Games Malfunction!", Dan's neighbour enters Dan's backyard to find out from Dan that video game characters have come to life. He doesn't think that's possible but decides to try and help Dan anyways. He puts on his thinking cap and tries thinking of a solution when he has the idea to build some sort of device. The device blows up in his face however so he gets back to work trying to rebuild which he eventually does and this time it doesn't blow up however it doesn't seem to do anything to the video game characters. He then sees the the video game characters flying into a shredder and being shredded because of Dan shredding his FunCube. He gets annoyed at the celebratory music that plays afterwards.
