Plot[]
Cold open[]
Golf Ball and Tennis Ball are seen arguing which one of them a certain cloud looks like while Firey gets barfed on by Rocky. When Coiny laughs at the incident, Firey proceeds to fight with Coiny. Golf Ball mentions that their fighting is pointless, but the two defend themselves by saying the other is a jerk.
After the intro[]
Golf Ball then notices the Announcer and wonders what he's doing. The Announcer then tells them that Another Name lost last episode, and Cake at Stake starts.
Cake at Stake[]
While Another Name walks to the Cake at Stake area, many objects from the other teams laugh at them. During Cake at Stake, Announcer asked if Golf Ball or Firey wanted to use their Win Token. Firey didn't, but Golf Ball did, having only half of her votes being counted.
There were 37 votes, 8 more than last time. Tennis Ball is safe with 2 votes. Firey gets 3 votes and Coiny gets 5. Golf Ball and Rocky get 12 and 15 votes, respectively. When Tennis Ball is told he is safe, the Announcer says that the cake was too expensive, so he gives them an imaginary cake. Even with her Win Token, Golf Ball and Rocky are the two with the highest votes. The Squishy Cherries have to pick one of the two to go onto their team. By unanimous decision, Rocky is chosen, and Golf Ball is sent to the Tiny Loser Chamber.

Contest[]
For the first part of the challenge, the Announcer tells the contestants to climb up a flight of stairs, which Tennis Ball falls off. The Announcer then makes the contestants tie a balloon around their waists. Then he makes the platform they are standing on disappear. Firey screams due to his fear of heights which causes Coiny to tease him. After Announcer explains the rules, the game starts.
The Squashy Grapes plan to attack the Cherries first because they have seven people, thus being a bigger threat. Blocky then picks up three nails and throws them at the rival team. Pencil does the same, and they collide in midair before falling. Pen accidentally pops Bubble's balloon. Tennis Ball bounces to the ground, and Leafy uses a nail to pop Match's balloon and Pen's balloon, which then hits Rocky. Firey gets slapped by Coiny, thus guiding his balloon to a nail held by Blocky. Firey falls and Tennis Ball bounces up, Coiny greets him as he falls back down. Snowball ends up popping Pencil's balloon because his team's balloon color is pink, not red. Eraser then explains that pink is manly. The Announcer then says that red balloons were too expensive.
When Firey hits the ground, he accidentally lights a fuse bomb's fuse. Tennis Ball realizes that since Firey down here it means it's "all down to Coiny", and Firey calls him a jerk. Snowball and Eraser throw nails at Leafy, but Blocky tells her to watch out and Leafy manages to dodge all of them. Coiny shatters Ice Cube with a nail, commenting that he's an "ice cold killer", and attempts to use the basket of nails as a source of protection from the nail that Blocky throws at him. Unfortunately, both his and the basket's balloons get popped by a nail, resulting in Another Name losing again. Coiny falls, and Bomby explodes. The remaining Grapes (Leafy and Blocky) then improvise in popping balloons, whether it's biting Snowball's balloon (by Blocky), squeezing Eraser's balloon (by Leafy), and making Rocky's balloon disappear by saying "poof" like what Announcer did (by Blocky). The Grapes win the challenge, and Another Name goes to Cake at Stake again.
Stinger[]
At night, Leafy says she wants to get back onto the ground. Blocky disagrees.

Trivia[]
- Bomby is the first recommended character to be shown in the series recommended by jaysillyboy.
- This is the second time Bomby appeared.
- This is the shortest episode of BFDI ever, lasting only 5 minutes and 55 seconds.
- Coincidentally, this episode is tied with Meaty for the shortest title, at only 5 letters each.
- This could be why the episode has subtitles, as it would take less time than for other episodes.
- This is the only episode where Pencil, Match, and Bubble appear, but do not interact with each other.
- This is also the case for Pen and Eraser.
- Snowball and Golf Ball have an indirect quarrel during the Golf Ball and Rocky's choice of being picked.
- Ice Cube appears in this episode, but has no lines. However, she can be seen laughing with other contestants when Another Name walks through the elimination area.
- After this episode, the Squishy Cherries were larger than the other 2 teams combined.
- When Eraser and Snowball are arguing, Eraser's arms are below the rope. When he waves his arms in the air and puts them by his sides, they are above.
- After Coiny slaps Firey to Blocky's nail, the camera cuts out to see that Firey is pretty close to Blocky's nail. When the camera cuts in, he's far away and drifts over. When the camera cuts out, Firey is far away again.
- Nails randomly appear in Blocky's and Coiny's hands before they pop Coiny (Blocky) and Ice Cube (Coiny).
- This is the 3rd episode to have subtitles, the 1st being Take the Plunge: Part 1, the 2nd being Take the Plunge: Part 2, the 4th being Get in the Van, the 5th being No More Snow!, the 6th being It's a Monster, and the 7th being The Long-lost Yoyle City.
- This episode marks Pen's first and only kill on another character.
- The balloons in the episode are later used in the asset for Balloony.
- Golf Ball is the second person to be eliminated using a Win Token with 12 votes, the first being Needle.
- Coincidentally, Coiny having 5 votes prevented both from being safe.
- This is the first episode to have the dodging pattern gag, used in a scene where Leafy dodges the nails. This gag returns in Gardening Hero, but with Spongy instead of Leafy. The gag appears again with Leafy dodging acid spitballs in Get Digging and with Puffball dodging cannonballs in The Four is Lava.
- Throughout the episode, there are motion blurs used in the animation.
- This is the first episode to have a scene take place at night (other than the stingers), when the contestants climb the stairs.
- This is the last episode before the merge.
- This is the only episode that features the Cherries finishing in something other than first ever since three teams were formed.
- This is the only episode to contain potentially offensive content, due to a string of dialogue that could be considered "transphobic" by fans. During the elimination scene, Pen gives out a reason to choose Rocky over Golf Ball by criticizing her voice as masculine when she is actually feminine. The original intention of the scene was most likely meant to be a self deprecating joke as both Pen and Golf Ball are voiced by Michael Huang, with the joke being that Michael is bad at voice acting female characters. In current years however, where the concept of transgender has become more widely known, this scene could be construed as offensive, however it is important to remember that Jacknjellify never intended to offend viewers with this line, as in 2010 the concept of gender in the public conscious was rather limited and the Huang twins were 13, an incredibly young age at the time. In a YouTube video, Cary himself has (jocularly) acknowledged the line's transphobic nature.[1]
- This is also why in the Spanish dub of this episode, Pen's reason changes to being upset over the fact that Golf Ball sinks in water (an allusion to Bridge Crossing).
- In "Outbreak At Stake", the animation when Firey slaps Coiny is reused when Eraser slaps Teardrop.
Continuity references[]
- Firey chooses not to use the Win Token that he won in BFDI 6 while Golf Ball uses hers from BFDI 3.
- Eraser calls Golf Ball a bossy bot for the first time since BFDI 1.
- Snowball votes for Rocky over Golf Ball because she said his brain was small in BFDI 1b.
- Golf Ball calculates her chances of winning after learning that she is eliminated.
Cultural references[]
- The contest is very similar to the old Nintendo game Balloon Fight.
Goofs[]
- The intro is brighter than usual. This is because of a color correction problem used in Sony Vegas.
- While everyone is climbing up the stairs, Rocky is nowhere to be seen. He then reappears when everyone is done climbing.
- When Tennis Ball received a splat, Firey and Coiny are never shown that they felt a splat by the imaginary cake from the Announcer. (most likely the announcer tosses the imaginary cake too slow).
- When Snowball popped Pencil's balloon, the nail disappeared.
- When Bomby explodes, Pen, Pencil, Tennis Ball, Firey and Match disappear.
- This is likely they are thrown away, just like what happened to Flower in "Barriers and Pitfalls".
- Firey wasn't flaming when he fell to the ground after his balloon was popped along with him slapping Coiny.
- All objects were moving up and down and so were the basket of nails tied to the balloon, however Ice Cube wasn't moving up and down.
- There are a lot of times when the contestants were not moving up and down.
- At 3:31, Firey's flames weren't burning.
- When Announcer tells Golf Ball and Rocky that the Squishy Cherries will either vote one onto their team or to be eliminated, Snowball has no arms.
- They return when he states "I'd say Rocky, because GB said my brain is small!"
- Rocky turns around too quickly when Firey and Coiny slap each other.
- When Leafy grabs some nails, her strap disappears.
- When everyone is climbing up the stairs, Firey and Coiny look smaller in this scene.
- In the voting screen the subtitles said "Vote off Firey, or Tennis Ball.", but Coiny was in the voting screen, and the subtitles didn't include his name.
- The sizes for Tennis Ball and Firey are very inconsistent.
- In the Spanish dub, Pen votes for Golf Ball because she sinks in water. This doesn't make sense, because Rocky also sinks in water.
Deaths[]
- Bubble is unintentionally popped by Pen with the balloon string.
- Ice Cube is shattered by a nail, thrown by Coiny.
- Bomby is lit by Firey thanks to Coiny and Blocky.
- Pen, Pencil, Match, Tennis Ball, and Firey are killed in Bomby's explosion.
- Snowball, Eraser and Rocky all fell to their deaths (Debatable).
