Before Cake at Stake[]
Jack comes to Fries with a Himshey's bar, announcing "What I did on the weekend." Fries then greets him and asks him what's up. Jack answers "This candy wrapper!", holding up a Himshey's candy wrapper. Fries sarcastically compliments Jack about his comedy skills, then asks if he has had lunch yet. When Jack says yes Fries asks him what he ate. Jack, with his teeth now encrusted in mud, replies "Lots of mud!" Fries, disgusted, yells at him. Jack menacingly stares at Fries, and says, "Oops!". He shakes Fries violently and drops him on the ground, saying that it was amazingly quick. In a strange, spliced manner of speech, he shouts "April Fools!", and disintegrates. His hair floats off. Cut to The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute; Bomby is scared about the elimination. Pin agrees and everyone chatters nervously about the elimination, then Ice Cube calms them down using the beautiful face, which happens repeatedly until Golf Ball yells at everyone to stop, telling Puffball Speaker Box to initiate the Cake at Stake.
Puffball Speaker Box says that they have to walk 3 miles to the Cake at Stake Place. Ruby tells her that 3 miles is "no sweat", along with Nickel, as long as no-one heckles them. Puffball Speaker Box will say no one will, however that is shown to be a lie, as many Fries clones appear, mocking them while the Beautiful Face Destruction Institute walks to the Cake at Stake area.
Cake at Stake[]
Puffball Speaker Box welcomes The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute to Cake at Stake. Puffball Speaker Box announces that Ice Cube won the prize with 28,000 likes. Her choice is to remove another contestant's face or immunity into the final 10. She chose to remove Pin's face as revenge for the dance party incident in Get in the Van. Then Pin desperately says her last words and stayed as a corpse. The elimination starts and PSB reveals who is safe, the cake this time is a plain cake, but it has Jack's hair. Ruby receives her slice of hair cake, and Book informs her that she doesn't know where the hair came from, but Ruby eats the slice anyway. PSB gets to the bottom two, being Ice Cube and Spongy. The alliance members all say that they want Ice cube to be safe, then the camera cuts to Nickel, with him saying that he isn't an ally of Spongy. then he sarcastically says "I hope Spongy is safe". Spongy ends up being eliminated with 13,546 dislikes. Right before Spongy is flung away, Needle asks him if he wants to resolve his conflict with Coiny. Coiny wants to speak but lets Spongy talk first, Coiny asks if Spongy has anything to say, he replies with "No" and is flung away.
The scene cuts to Fries, who was still lying on the ground, he gets up and runs towards where Puffball Speaker Box and the others are. Tennis Ball complains to GB that he can't find his microscope, but Golf Ball says that is not an issue, as she looks at Ice Cube making a beautiful face. GB flips Ice Cube over, turning her beautiful face into an ugly face. This makes the members of The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute leave and rename the team to "The Bad Face Destruction Institute". But Golf Ball suddenly changes her mind and leaves the team, taking TB with her. Once she is all by herself, Ice Cube starts crying. When they see this, Book, Pencil and Ruby join back with Ice Cube. The alliance members disagree about what their new team name should be, Pencil says they shouldn't just be FreeSmart again because it implies they haven't become more free or more smart. Eventually, Book suggests that they should name themselves "Less Restrained Less Dumb" and they all agree.
Team No-Name reforms, because TB and GB didn't come up with a name when Puffball Speaker Box asked them. Then, the scene cuts to Bomby, Nickel, Coiny, Pin and Needle's team, as they decide what their should be, Coiny says that "The Bad Face Destruction Institute" doesn't invoke the pure rage that Icy's face gives. The team eventually decides on "Water's Open Aperture Hater Bunch" shortened to "WOAH Bunch". Fries finally arrives to PSB and asks what he missed, and Nickel summarizes it all for him. Fries says he's good because he likes going rogue, but then Puffball Speaker Box says that he can't be on his own team anymore because it ruins the team dynamic, so he is placed on Team No-Name.

Before the contest[]
Out of nowhere, Spongy falls onto the ground and crushes Puffball Speaker Box. So Golf Ball calls Puffball Speaker Box's most recent contact, which ended up being Flower, making her the new host. She arrives immediately and rips Tennis Ball in half. Then, a joke intro plays, this time the title is "But Flower's Doing It" with an image of Flower's head right behind it.
Flower introduces the remaining contestants to her fashion shop and calling everyone ugly at the same time. Book is mad and confronts Flower about her cover until Flower changes her color to a pink and purple look. Nickel is confused as they have to spin the contest wheel, Flower wants to do a beauty contest and Needle listens and slaps Nickel for calling Flower “Daisy”, and tells him to listen to her as she was terrifying in the first season. Flower then places down a wheel with all the slices reading “Beauty contest” in different spellings. Ice cube is still furious that she destroyed Ice Cube’s recovery center in “Return of the Hang Glider” and dosen’t want to listen to Flower but Needle shoves her away and follows Flower’s orders spinning the contest wheel. It seems like it lands between 2 beauty contests but Golf Ball suggests for her to use the microscope which Flower sees a minuscule slice that reads “Rip Flower’s Petals off” which Flower seems sarcastic about and Ruby getting excited. Flower explains it’s sarcasm, but Coiny immediately starts off the challenge by running at Flower and ripping her petal.
Contest[]
To celebrate W.O.A.H Bunch's lead, Bomby grabs a firework. Coiny places the petal on top of the firework, which launches to display the words "FLOWER IS SO UGLY". Ruby then attempts to also tear off one of Flower's petals, but Flower pushes her aside. To make the challenge trickier, Flower adds padlocks to her petals. Book states that the locks are made of Tungsten — one of the strongest metals in the world — so it would be impossible to take off the locks without keys. Said keys Flower quickly throws into a lake.
Meanwhile, at the lake, W.O.A.H. Bunch searches the water for the keys. Nickel jumps straight in, but Needle says that her lungs aren’t big enough to make the swim. Upon hearing that, Bomby gets two banana peels and wraps them into snorkels. Bomby gives the snorkel to Needle, but Fries sneaks up and closes off the end. Just as Needle was about to suffocate, Bomby slaps fries away and unties the end of Needle's snorkel. Coiny starts handing out snorkels to the rest of his team but couldn't figure out how to give Pin's corpse one. Bomby splatters a banana onto Pin's side, thinking it will suffice.
Whilst W.O.A.H Bunch was in the lake, Team No-Name stood beside it. Tennis Ball pulled out a magnet to attract the keys, but it only attracted junk metal.
Meanwhile, on the lake, two recommended characters — "Black & White Cookie" and "Vegemite on Toast" — are relaxing on a boat. W.O.A.H Bunch's snorkels approach the boat and Black & White Cookie believes they're portals to pallet dimensions. They believe that it will bring them 3.13 years of good luck if they pour fish flakes in the hole. Meanwhile underwater, Needle says that Nickel is about to drown, and someone needs to give him a snorkel. Bomby then let's Nickel have his snorkel. With Nickel in relief, he is later shown taking a decent amount fish flakes by Black & White Cookie, he didn't know that air tasted that fishy. Until Needle says that Bomby is about to drown, and someone needs to give him a snorkel. Needle says that Nickel is about to drown, but was cut off by Coiny, Coiny wanted W.O.A.H. Bunch to check up on Pin. Needle said she didn't speak up, she wonders if she's still alive, Coiny heard that living characters float, and dead one sinks, he then experiments it on Pin. Pin then sinks to the bottom at the lake, with Coiny in disappointment. But Pin's corpse reaches the surface at some point.
Meanwhile, LRLD confronts Flower to give her a makeover. Flower accepts, and Ruby takes off Pencil's eraser and puts it on Flower's head, but Ice Cube deems it ugly. LRLD puts several other fashion looks on Flower, even Pin, but Ice Cube calls them all ugly, which makes Flower kick her out of the store.
On the next scene, Black & White Cookie is still pouring fish flakes down the snorkels, with Vegemite on Toast asking why they're doing it. Black & White Cookie explains that there's aliens down the holes that use fish flakes as currency, which makes them rich, so Vegemite on Toast pours a large portion of fish flakes into Coiny's snorkel. Underwater, Coiny chokes on the fish flakes and questions why the air is so flaky. The fish flakes attract a fish monster, which captures Coiny and tries to eat him. Nickel is about to drown once again, so Bomby has the idea to share one snorkel and both breathe through it, but this doesn't work and they both drown, while Needle found the keys.
LRLD huddles up to figure out what will please Flower. Ruby has the idea of pulling out the hair that she ate during Cake at Stake, and place it on Flower's head. Flower asks if she looks beautiful, and LRLD confirms hesitantly. Flower grabs a key from underwater to unlock the lock, and gives a petal to LRLD. Flower says it's not enough to win the challenge. Book asks if they have any more fashion looks, but they don't so they go back to pulling Flower's petals.
Tennis Ball pulls out a second magnet, and it starts to attract Needle. On the way, Needle accidently kills the fish monster. Needle makes it to the magnets and the keys land on Fries. He and Ice Cube make it into the store and Fries says that Flower looks horrifying, which angers her so she tries to attack LRLD. Fries takes off two petals from Flower, making Team No-Name safe, but Flower transports them and Pin into her punishment room.
Golf Ball tells the others to hide the key in one of the trap doors. Tennis Ball wonders if Pin heard that, but Fries tells him that she's just an object. Fries tries to hide the key in the first door, but gets crushed by a giant wall with spikes. Golf Ball tries to hide the key in the second door, but gets burnt to death by a large flame. Tennis Ball, scared, tries to hide the key in the third door, and there was just a bug inside so he hides the key and exits the room.
Coiny makes it inside the store and asks Tennis Ball if there's any keys. He tells Coiny that there's a key in one of the doors, so he goes inside. Coiny finds Pin and is relieved about it. He asks Pin which door has the key but gets nothing back. He tries opening the first door but Pin sweats onto Coiny, preventing him from dying. Coiny tries the second door but Pin still sweats. At last, Coiny tries the third door and Pin doesn't sweat, so he opens it and finds a pile of bugs inside and the key. He thanks Pin by giving her a bug, which poisons her.
Coiny exits the room and LRLD fights Coiny to get the key. Coiny shatters Ruby and dulls Pencil. Ice Cube tells them that maybe violence wasn't the answer, and Book finds the answer which was "unfurl". Coiny asks what it means, and Book demonstrates, which gives her the key. Book unlocks the last lock, but Coiny shoves her aside and rips off the last petal, making W.O.A.H. Bunch safe and LRLD placed up for elimination.
Stinger[]
Ruby, now bandaged back together, is sad that her team lost, but tells Flower that she looks like Cary. Flower asks who Cary is, adding that he sounds disgusting. Flower then hears a noise that is coming from the third door, which releases tons of bugs that chase after Flower.

Trivia[]
- The elimination results were very controversial due to the fact that unofficial extensions stated that Ice Cube got more dislikes than Spongy.
- This is the first BFDI episode since "Bowling, Now with Explosions!" to have been released on April Fools' Day.
- Himshey's makes its first canonical appearance in an episode.
- This is the BFDI episode with the most votes casted ever, surpassing "Intruder Alert" by approximately 100 thousand votes.
- This is chronologically the first time Jack has been shown on screen in a BFDI episode. However, this is not the first time in the series that Jack showed up in a BFDI episode, as Jack previously appeared as a recommended character in "The Four Is Lava".
- All of his voice lines in the episode were from the original video he first appeared in, including "April Fools!", which was done by splicing multiple of his voice clips together.
- Puffball Speaker Box saying "This can make a difference." when putting Jack's hair in the cake references the video above.
- This is despite Cary Huang mentioning in the 2019 BFDI x II Meetup that he thought it would be 'Horrifying if both shows crossover'.
- All of his voice lines in the episode were from the original video he first appeared in, including "April Fools!", which was done by splicing multiple of his voice clips together.
- In the "punishment room", the doors are labelled as 1, 2, and 3. They are also colored blue, green, and red respectively. This is a reference to the way their respective Algebralians are colored.
- This is the first BFDIA episode where Flower debuts as a host in light of the absence of Puffball Speaker Box due to her death.
- The wedge on the Prize Wheel that says "Flower Hosts" foreshadows Flower's hosting duties.
- The music from Tidepool plays in the scene when Black and White Cookie and Vegemite on Toast feed the contestants.
- It is revealed that the brand Book (most specifically her cover) is from is named "Earth-Water-Outerwear", which can be shortened to EWOW. This might also be a reference to Eleven Words Of Wisdom.
- As of BFDIA 11, the 11th word uttered is "this". Therefore, the current message is "Don't try that thing again, because it definitely won't work this—".
- It can be presumed that the next word is "time", since it would finish the sentence.
- When Ruby says “You look like Cary now!” This means that Cary canonically exists in the BFDI world.
- It can also mean that ABCDEFG could be canon, because Ruby competed in it. In the following episode, Ruby's sisters make their first canonical appearance.
- In Cary's video where he reacts to BFDIA 11, he says that the title of this episode was originally meant to be taken from the scene where Book unfurls Coiny's hand from the key.
- This episode ends the streak of the titles of post-hiatus BFDIA episodes being said by a character who was put up for elimination in the same episode.
- However, if the crew decided to go with the considered title, 'Unfurl', then the streak would still be going, as it was said by Book.
- At the 10:21 mark, Book mentions Tungsten, the 74th element of the periodic table.
- This is the first Cake at Stake since "Get in the Van", to have the contestants on the voting screen arranged based on the order of votes they got to compete in the season in episode 1.
- This is the first Post-Hiatus BFDIA episode to be written by someone other than Cary Huang.
- This is also the first BFDIA episode since The Long-lost Yoyle City to be written by more than one person.
- This is the first BFDI episode in-universe not to have "Dream Island" said or spelled out anywhere in the episode unless you count BFDI APPISIOTE 225555555!!!!!.
- In the promo of the episode, Ice Cube’s face is changed and Bomby is seen, whereas in the thumbnail, Ice Cube does her ugly face and Bomby nor his hand is nowhere to be seen.
- This is the only Post-Revival BFDIA episode where the host doesn't say "See you all in BFDIA (Episode number)!", instead, flower just says "BYE!".
Elimination[]
- Spongy is the fifth original BFDI contestant to be eliminated, after Teardrop, Match, Rocky, and Firey.
- And if you count the rest of his eliminations throughout the series, that means Spongy hold the records for the most times being eliminated.
- Due to Spongy being eliminated, Pin, Ruby, and Tennis Ball are the only characters voiced by Cary Huang left in the game.
- Spongy is the second armless contestant to be eliminated, after Rocky in Intruder Alert.
- In universe-order, this would mark as Spongy's third elimination in BFDI.
- The other 2 being "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?" and "Hurtful!".
- Spongy is the third contestant to be eliminated in both BFDIA and post-split BFB, after Firey in "Meaty" and Gelatin in "Taste the Sweetness".
- Spongy will be the fifth contestant to be sent to the WTF.
- He is also the second yellow contestant to be sent to the WTF, after Yellow Face in "Catch These Hands".
- However, due to his weight, he never reached the WTF as revealed in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4".
- Due to Spongy being eliminated, Ruby is the only post-split BFB (Battle for BFB) contestant still competing in BFDIA.
Continuity references[]
- Ice Cube removes Pin's face because she didn't allow her to go to Match's dance party. Coiny's reaction after seeing her drown later is the same as Pin's from that episode.
- Before her face is removed, Pin apologizes to Woody for kicking him four years ago.
- The way the contestants stand when they first arrive at the Cake at Stake area is reminiscent of the contestants' poses that would be seen commonly throughout the first few episodes of BFDIA.
- Puffball Speaker Box's death mirrors the original Announcer's from "Don't Pierce My Flesh".
- The shot displaying each number of dislikes over most of the contestants references a similar shot from "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3".
- The last three contestants that Puffball Speaker Box announces safe in this scene (Ruby, Bomby, and Tennis Ball) were also prize winners in the last four episodes.
- Pencil saying that she's been dulled is a reference to "Barriers and Pitfalls".
- The bugs return, their last appearance chronologically being "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3".
- The scene with Fries and Jack marks BFDI's first April Fools' joke since "Bowling, Now with Explosions!".
- Spongy shouting "no" right before being flung may be a reference to Donut saying the same thing in "Get Digging".
- Coiny saying "We're here!" when arriving to the Cake at Stake area is also a reference to him saying the same thing in "Get Digging".
- The Cake at Stake place is the one from "The Glistening" to "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2".
- Flower's "braniac" makeover features several gold star stickers like the one Puffball Speaker Box gave to Book in the previous episode and later, in terms of chronological appearances, the one Four gave to Lollipop in the BFB episode "The Game Has Changed".
- X's baskets make their first chronological appearance in this episode, their first appearance in release date being "Getting Teardrop to Talk". Book alludes to this, remarking that they're "ahead of your time".
- Needle slapping Nickel and telling him to not call Flower "Daisy" is a reference to her iconic line "Don't call me Needy!"
- "Daisy" may also reference the recommended character, also being a "variant" of Flower.
- The intro's title of the episode "But Flower's Doing It", is another acronym for BFDI.
- Ice Cube mentions how Flower melted her recovery center in "Return of the Hang Glider".
- The scene where Coiny names his team in this episode mirrors Pencil's team naming scene in "Get in the Van".
- This episode marks the first time chronologically in which a contestant gets to host the show itself following a host's death. The first time this happened in terms of release date order being the BFB episode "Four Goes Too Far".
- The mocking crowd from "Lofty", "A Leg Up in the Race", "Get Digging", and "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3" returns in this episode.
- The scene reuses the 3D animation from "Taste the Sweetness".
- The animation of Ice Cube saying "Revenge!" is recycled from "The Four is Lava".
- The animation of Book and Coiny slapping each other appears to be reused from "Well Rested".
- Additionally, when Book is about to win but then Coiny stops her is a reference to "Power of Three", when Coiny's team is about to win, but Snowball's team stops them. This was also stated by Cary in the reaction video.
- Flower ripping Tennis Ball in half is similar to how Blocky would do the same thing to him in "Getting Teardrop to Talk".
- Flower recalls BFDI 2 when she says to Golf Ball "My Cake at Stake rival! Who got me eliminated first." which references her elimination in Season 1.
- Flower calls Ruby "a gem school drop-out", which references BFDIA 5c where Ruby says she didn't go to gem school.
Cultural references[]
- Jack is seen holding a Himshey's candy bar, a parody of Hershey's.
- The candy bar also appears in Firey's Candy Bar Adventure.
- While Book is flipping through herself to look for antonyms, one of her pages has the beginning of the script of the 2007 film Bee Movie written on them.
- This may also reference Ten Words of Wisdom, an internet camp hosted by Cary. Spicyman33, one of the contestants, read the entire Bee Movie script on a Discord call after saying he would do it if he won TWOW 20, even though he didn’t win.
- Another one of Book's pages has a drawing of the pineapple house of the titular character of SpongeBob SquarePants.
- Flower's line "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." is a common idiom.
- When Bomby & Coiny set off the fireworks, it plays the Minecraft Firework Rocket sounds.
- When Black & White Cookie and Vegemite on Toast talk about the years of good luck they'll get from pouring fish flakes down W.O.A.H. Bunch's snorkels, the specific lengths of time they mention are references to the Rubik's Cube world record speedsolving times set by the voice actors and recommenders of the characters, Max Park and Feliks Zemdegs respectively.
- 3.13 is a reference to the current 3x3 single world record time set by Max Park.
- 4.73 and 6.25 are references to former 3x3 single world record times set by Feliks Zemdegs.

- At 4:11, before the final contestant was safe, Pencil and Golf Ball are shown to have no votes.
- At 12:06, Bomby is still swimming but is idle.
- Alongside this, he disappears briefly for an entire frame before the scene changes.
