Matthew Alan Chapman is a writer, voice actor, director, animator, producer and composer. He is best known for co-creating the animated web series Homestar Runner and Two More Eggs with his brother Mike Chapman, with the two being collectively known as The Brothers Chaps. He additionally voices the vast majority of characters on both series. The brothers have also worked on other series, such as Yo Gabba Gabba!, The Aquabats! Super Show, Gravity Falls, Wander Over Yonder, Amphibia, and The Owl House, as well as collaborating with music bands such as They Might Be Giants and Y-O-U.
While Homestar Runner had been frequently referenced on BFDI and the jacknjellify channel, being one of the key influences on the series, it was not until "Start the Shift" that the original series' creators would acknowledge BFDI. In said episode, Chapman (credited as Mart Champin in the credits and simply as "Homestar Runner" in the title and description, most likely due to policies involving SAG-AFTRA) voices Propeller Hat, Mr. Cookie, and Soda, with the former being a direct reference to Homestar Runner's titular protagonist in voice and personality.
