Plot[]
The episode starts immediately after the stinger of "Outbreak At Stake", where Pencil, Bracelety and David are in one of the classrooms. David notices some drawings taped to the wall and takes them off, and Pencil is worried that there is no way out of here. Bracelety is about to open the door, but Pencil stops her out of fear that Four may be outside. She says they need a diversion and opts out of doing so, along with Bracelety. They open the door and Four was indeed outside, saying that it was game over. They throw David out and he drops some of the pages. Four gets mad at him for taking the pages, but suddenly hears something coming out of the EXIT classroom. He opens the door to see Roboty attempting to escape, and gets angry before closing the door. David runs back to Pencil and she cheers. As they are walking across the hallway, Pencil mentions that the others are trying to escape, and adds that they should do the same. She wonders how many classrooms there can be and Bracelety begins to count them, before getting interrupted by Pencil, who tells her to shut it.
The episode cuts to Liy, Match and Stapy, who are looking at the fourtress from afar. Liy concludes that that's gotta be their way out, but Match has no idea how they're gonna get there. Stapy suggests they go up the inverted waterfall, adding that Match and Liy could carry him across once they reach the top, but they can't breathe in the water. However, Liy is certain that Match could and throws her into the inverted waterfall, but she struggles to breathe so she retreats. Match is annoyed at Liy for throwing her in but Liy does it again. Stapy asks why and Liy tells him that she's just bored. Match comes back and tells her to stop, and Stapy wishes Match could breathe underwater. Liy asks Match if she wants to try again to which Match quickly denies. Stapy agrees with Liy's previous statement on the fourtress having something important in it, and says they needed to get over there.
In the third group, Dora, 8-Ball and Firey Jr. are walking through the fourest, and 8-Ball says he doesn't have a favorite direction. Firey Jr says that sometimes he doesn't know what language they're speaking before noticing that they've been going in circles. He isn't sure which way they were coming from so he picks up 8-Ball and throws him away. He ricochets off one of the trees and lands on Firey Jr, during him into the ground and angering him. Dora leads them somewhere else and 8-Ball decides to follow. Firey Jr hopes that one of the other teams with useful people are having better luck.
Back in the Algebra classroom, Four is tying Roboty to a chair, saying that he is not to leave the classroom and that it's eternal algebra class that he signed up for. He tells Roboty to get cozy and starts hiding the stack behind lockers, with the passcode being "444". A montage is then shown of all the exitors trying to escape but to no avail, which takes place over the course of four years. After the montage, Match complains about how long it's taking, and admits that even the TLC was better. She tells them that they're going for it even if it meant they might die trying before they all go in the waterfall together. If one of them begins to run low on breath, the other two bring them up to the surface so they can breathe. This pattern repeats until they finally make it to the top, but they fall because Stapy's staples were hurting Match's legs.
A timeskip to October 2023 shows the group finally reaching the fourtress. Stapy suggests a group hug but accidentally kicks Match off the edge. He apologizes before going back to get her. In June 2024 (present day) they return. Match is glad they finally made it, but chastises Stapy for his reckless behavior. Stapy insists it was an accident, and Liy tells him to stop with the tricks and traps—they need to be serious. Stapy speculates about a trap in the castle, but Match dismisses it as something that only happens in movies. Inside, they find some armor. Liy suggests using it for protection from Four, but they fall into a hole hidden by a rug.

Bracelety beating up Four after he tells her that he deleted their stack
In another scene, Pencil, Bracelety and David are still trying to find an exit but with no success. They walk into the principal's office, but there is still no exit. David yells "Aw, seriously?" into the mic, which could be heard by the others. in the fourest, Firey Jr recognizes the voice as David's and is confused as to what was going on. Back in the principal's office, Pencil admits that she doesn't know what to do anymore and Bracelety encourages her to keep looking. Pencil tells her they've already been doing that for four years is beginning to lose hope. Bracelety is also sad that they've been stuck in Four's mouth forever, but the mention of Four's mouth gives Pencil the idea of escaping through there again, thinking that it might be their only way out of here. Bracelety reminds her that their stack wasn't high enough before Four steps in, telling them that he deleted the entire stack. Pencil yells in frustration and Bracelety charges at Four, expressing her hatred towards him and begins to physically attack him. As she is doing this, Pencil remembers the mic and starts speaking into it, telling the others to collect as many items as they can so they can rebuild their stack. She then tells them it may be their only way out and that they have to escape, and as a result, screams the EXIT intro.
After the EXIT intro[]
Bracelety is still beating up Four before he finally throws her off. Pencil asks if she's okay, and Four tells them that despite BFB's conclusion, they are there for eternal algebra and has no intention of letting them leave. David sneaks up from behind Four, picks him up and throws him away, knocking him out. The group quickly leave before Four regains consciousness, and go in search of random items for their new stack. They walk into the theatre and David slams the door behind him, which wakes Four up. He decides to deal with them later and go after one of the other groups instead, hoping they will be easier. In the fourest, he spots Dora, 8-Ball and Firey Jr, who are chopping down the trees to add to their stack. Four merges himself into the ground and becomes one with all of the trees. He picks up 8-Ball, and Dora throws Firey Jr at his hand, burning Four and causes him to drop 8-Ball. He punches the group through the fourest and his hand go back to normal.
Back in the theatre, Pencil is congratulating David and plans to use the props to add to their stack, but hears the screams of the others. She concludes that Four must have found some them and decides to distract him with a show. She quickly takes for the principal's office and screams into the mic, telling everyone to take their seats because the show is about to begin. This confuses Four, but simultaneously intrigues him, and he goes to check it out. Pencil tells David to take the set apart for the stack whilst she and Bracelety perform the show.
Elsewhere, Match, Liy and Stapy are trapped, and Match doesn't know what to do now. Stapy picks up Liy and attaches her to the wall before turning on her switch. Match tells him he's a hero, and Liy says it wasn't all him. Stapy wonders how they can get out of there and Liy speculates that it may have something to do with those set of keys. Match grabs them, not realizing that it was a trap, and as soon as this action is done the walls start closing in on them. Match feels bad and Liy asks what they're gonna do.

Meanwhile, Four enters the theatre and asks what they're doing. Bracelety shushes him and tells him to take a seat because the show is starting. He takes a seat in the fourth row. Bracelety and Pencil are at first trying to recreate the first scene from BFDI 1a, but Bracelety doesn't seem to remember the exact lines. She starts going off track and begins talking about Ice Cube, annoying Pencil at first, but then she quickly realizes that it doesn't matter as long as Four is distracted. She leaves and Bracelety starts talking about digits of Pi whilst David is stealing props in the background. As he is watching the play, Four comments that Ice Cube is funny and that the play is full of surprises.
Backstage, David gathers all the props together and Pencil compliments his find. He hides all the props in the storage room and Pencil agrees that it's a good idea. Whilst Bracelety is still performing, Pencil comes on stage and ends the show. Four is about to send them back to algebra but Pencil interrupts, saying that they have other classes planned for today, such as culinary class. Four is hesitant but agrees, but adds that after this they'll being going back to algebra immediately.
Back in the EXIT classroom, Roboty says that he must use his secret weapon before taking out a plunger. He adds that freedom shall be his.
Meanwhile, Liy and Stapy are trying to push back the walls whilst Match is sleeping. Liy tells her to help them, but Match refuses, because it's her breaktime. Stapy rips her sleeping mask and insists that she helps, much to Match's annoyance. She picks up Stapy and fires staples at either end of the walls, whilst Stapy tells her to stop. Liy realizes that they could use the staples as a ladder and tells them to climb. Once Liy and Match reach the stop, Stapy is still trapped, and he asks them to help him out. Liy tells him he can force those walls out but Stapy worries about getting even more stuck. Match also encourages him to get himself out of there and he eventually does. Liy tells him good job, and Match admits that she thought he was gonna die, but was glad that he hadn't. She tells him to come on up, but Stapy notices a secret door that wasn't there before, so Liy and Match jump back down to check it out. Match uses the keys from earlier to unlock it.
Elsewhere, Pencil, Bracelety and Four are decorating cupcakes inspired by themselves, except for Bracelety's, which is Ice Cube themed. In the background, David is sneaking away an oven, but accidentally bangs it against the wall, causing Four to question the sound. Pencil distracts him with a food fight and Bracelety throws Four's own cupcake at him. He screeches and the timer ends, and Pencil tells them that he failed because he didn't have a cake. Four blasts them both before moving onto the next class, which is swimming class. They race each other to the end and back whilst David is seen stealing the lane rope for the stack. During the race, Four is in the lead, so Pencil pushes Four underwater so that Bracelety can surpass him. Underwater, they fight until Four blasts her again. The two resurface, and Bracelety has ended up winning. She cheers for winning the contest and points out that Four is really bad at the challenges. Four shrugs it off and they move onto the next class.
Back in the fourest, Dora, 8-Ball and Firey Jr end up on a shipwreck, and Firey Jr notices the school from afar. He suggests that they go back there but 8-Ball reminds him they don't have anything for the stack. Dora proposes they search the ship for some items, but Firey Jr is hesitant as the ship is full of water, which would kill him, so he decides to be on lookout for Four whilst Dora and 8-Ball search for the items.
Meanwhile, Match, Stapy and Liy open the door to what appears to be some sort of dungeon. All the prison cells were locked. Match concludes that these are what all the keys are for and uses it to unlock one of the doors, which has armor inside. She suggests they unlock all the cells and collect any items they find for their stack. A quick montage of them is shown of them trying on the armor, and Match says that was so fun. They are about to leave, but Liy notices one more door they didn't open. However, they don't see anything inside, so they decide to leave with the items they have already.
Simultaneously, Pencil is judging Four's artwork, which was a painting of him in a top hat and a tuxedo. Pencil says that it's a close one, but concludes that Bracelety's was better, angering Four. They are now taking several classes, to which Bracelety wins in all of them. Four tells Pencil that all her classes fail before instantaneously getting a vision of Liy saying that they might actually be able to escape. Because of this, he leaves abruptly. Bracelety asks if they can do Ice Cube class next, and Pencil says that as long as they don't get to study her ugly face. Suddenly, she remembers David's stack, and ushers Bracelety to the storage room immediately.

Dora and 8-Ball finding treasure to use for their stash
Back at the shipwreck, Dora notices a map of an island, much to her delight, and unintentionally drops 8-Ball, who falls into the water and starts drowning. Dora wonders where he went. Outside, Firey Jr notices Four taking for the castle. He goes to warn the others about him and Dora finally finds 8-Ball. She apologizes for dropping him, whilst also noticing a pile of treasure chest which could be used to contribute to the stack.
Meanwhile, Match, Stapy, and Liy emerge from the hole but are quickly stopped by Four, who orders them to go back to algebra class. The three don armor for protection. Liy mounts Stapy like a horse and wields Match as a sword, declaring that Four won't stop them. Four teleports them to a fight arena and they battle. Four attempts to blast Liy, but she dodges. She hurls Four, but he is swiftly recovered and uses the fourse to attack them, only to be blocked by Stapy. Liy and Match lunge at Four, kicking him out of the castle. Four is confused as to why they are so grumpy, adding that six years is a blink of an eye, not eternity. Seeing a fire in the fourest, Four rushes towards it. Back in the arena, the trio returns to their plan of using their stack to escape through Four's mouth.
Elsewhere, Pencil is congratulating her team for her efforts and expresses excitement about finally escaping. They grab the items and quickly make their way towards the EXIT classroom. Subsequently, Firey Jr is trying to get Dora and 8-Ball to come out of the shipwreck, but it is too late as Four has already arrived. Firey Jr runs down the stairs, stopping at the water, telling them that Four is here and that he didn't get to stop him. Dora and 8-Ball are still trying to retrieve the treasure chests, when suddenly a huge tentacle appears and wraps itself around Dora, who is confused as to what that is. Firey Jr tells her that Four is in the water. Dora struggles to retreat, so Firey Jr uses himself to burn the tentacle, causing it to retract, however they drop the treasure chests. Outside, Firey Jr notices their high altitude, and the tentacle is revealed to be Four's, as he holds the ship.
Firey Jr reminds 8-Ball and Dora that he can't jump as doing so will kill him, and asks what they should do next. 8-Ball feels that they may not be able to escape, but is still willing to help the others. Dora throws 8-Ball at the burning sail, with the force of the shipwreck going down onto Four, burning him. As he screams in pain, he throws away the shipwreck, conveniently onto shore, and all three of them survive. Firey Jr is annoyed that the ship is burnt and that they have no items for the stack, but luckily Dora managed to retrieve everything. The two thank Dora before hurrying through the fourest with the items.
Meanwhile, Match, Stapy and Liy reach the hallway, where Match notices Pencil, who is nearing the EXIT classroom, and gets excited. Bracelety asks where Roboty is and Pencil tells her not to worry about him, because he's useless. Roboty is then seen attached to the plunger which is stuck to the celling. Upon arrival, they gather items swiftly and begin rebuilding. More join them, and Match and Pencil share a hug before Liy redirects their focus back to stacking. Underwater, Four revives himself and quickly goes to find the exitors. Firey Jr, Dora and 8-Ball reach the hallways, but Four quickly catches up to them. They run and Four tries to blast them, but deletes half their stash instead. Four bursts into the EXIT classroom and rants about how these last four years have been the worst ever. He tells them that the exitors agreed to doing eternal algebra as the BFBers they are, but before he could finish his sentence, Roboty, who was directly above him, falls onto Four and squishes him. Roboty is glad to have saved the day.
As the others are re-building their stack, Firey Jr, Dora and 8-Ball join them. Firey Jr explains that they brought less due to Four destroying half their stash, however Pencil doesn't believe him and dismisses it as an excuse. Just then, Roboty's plunger appears. Bracelety notices and decides to take it whilst David goes back to retrieve Roboty. Once their stack is complete, Liy and Pencil realize it's slightly off for their escape, leading Match to have a panic attack, saying she can't do this anymore and that she just misses her friends, such as Bubble and Ruby. Just as they are all about to completely lose hope, Bracelety jumps to the top of the stack and attaches the plunge to it. They all use it to escape.

As they are escaping, Four arrives and knocks the stack over, but it's too late as most of them have already left. Four hopes to at least keep Firey Jr behind but he also leaves, telling Four that he sucks before doing so. Finally, all the EXITors managed to escape through Four's mouth after being trapped there for six years. Furious, Four prepares to send them back to the EXIT but before he does so, Two appears, asking what's happening. Liy begs Two to not send them back as they were trapped there for six years, and luckily Two complies and tells Four to put them down.
The algebralians try to negotiate with each other about the EXITors until Two gets an idea. They lead the EXITors to the kitchen inside the hotel, and hires them as cooks since Clock got transported to the elimination space. Two leaves, and Four assigns the exitors to make food for the failed debutants on the hotel roof, adding that they're extra hungry. He also leaves, and this upsets them as their efforts to escape have led to nothing. Dora looks out the window and notices that TPOT is going on, and wants to join. In the midst of it all, Two manages to recover Robot Flower while Basket Ball futilely attempts to intervene, only to find that Robot Flower has already been recovered and now sets her sights on Basket Ball, much to her horror, ultimately leaving Two feeling despondent. Eventually, Dora smashes the window, and they decide to escape, as the EXITors smash on the windows while Pencil yells at Liy to stop because she is being used as a tool to break the windows. The episode then ends on a cliffhanger that will be concluded in "What's Up Bell's String?,"
Stinger[]

An enigmatic red integer extends his hand to grab the door before slamming it shut.
In the stinger, Purple Face devises a plan to rescue the exitors after hearing from Gelatin's BFB that they have been trapped in the EXIT for years. He leaps into Four's mouth, declaring his intention to save the EXITors, unaware that they have already escaped. Entering the classroom, he begins to doubt if anyone is actually there and comes across a drawing of One in the hallway. He then wanders through the fourest in search of the exitors and eventually reaches the dungeon. As he passes by the grey cell from earlier, a hand from a mysterious red integer suddenly appears and slams the door shut, with muffled screaming being heard from them. Purple Face continues his search for the exitors.

Trivia[]
- This episode aired on American Flag Day and Father's Day weekend.
- This episode was originally going to be called "The Exit Episode"[1]
- Since this episode's elements conclude in "What's Up Bell's String?", this is the first time a story has been spread across two episodes since "Return of the Rocket Ship" and "Don't Dig Straight Down".
- Like those episodes, the two episodes are differently numbered (TPOT 11 and TPOT 12), much like BFDIA 13 and 14 and unlike BFDIA 5's parts or "Take the Plunge".
- This is the first episode in TPOT to have Cary Huang voice most of the characters.
- If not counting the BFDI and II 2023 Experience Screening, this is the second TPOT episode to be released in June. The first being "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life".
- This is the first episode to be fully dedicated to the EXITors.
- This is also the first TPOT episode to have no Cake at Stake.
- This is the first episode to use no TPOT Characters (except for Robot Flower and Basketball).
- This is the first overall BFDI episode to have no Cake at Stake ceremony since "X Marks the Spot".
- This is the first BFDI episode to not center around the season's remaining contestants.
- This is the first TPOT episode that has an alternate intro instead of the usual TPOT intro.
- This is the third TPOT episode in a row to begin with the letter O and end with the letter E, after "Outbreak At Stake" and "Oneirophobe's Nightmare".
- This is the first TPOT episode to canonically show an algebralien, besides Two, Four, One, X, and The Equation Playground.
- This is the first TPOT episode that breaks the trend of the thumbnail color being a lighter or darker shade than the previous one; with "Oneirophobe's Nightmare"'s thumbnail being red, and this episode's thumbnail being a dark blue.
- This is the second BFDI episode to not have any deaths, the first was "The Glistening," which was 12 years ago.
- This is also the first TPOT episode to have no deaths.
- This is the shortest TPOT episode, at only 20 minutes and 15 seconds.
- This is the first TPOT episode to not have a remaining contestant scream the intro.
- This is the first time since "Take the Tower" where Four used the screech sound, using it when Firey Jr. told Four that he sucked.
- This is the first TPOT episode to have no voting.
- This is also the first non-multipart BFDI episode to have no voting since "Chapter Complete".
- This is the first episode of BFDI to be written by Niall Burns and YellowAngiru.
- This is the first episode since "Gardening Zero" and the "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life" to be (co)written by a Huang Twin.
- Pencil is the first contestant with arms to scream the intro (although wasn't technically a TPOT contestant at the time). She is also the third character with arms to scream the intro, with the first being Two and the second being Four.
- She is also the first character with arms to scream the intro since the latter in "The Great Goikian Bake-Off".
- This is Michael's first canonical writing credit since "A Taste of Space" four years ago.
- This is also the third episode Michael writes in without Cary Huang after Lick Your Way to Freedom, and The Liar Ball You Don't Want.
- This episode is Three's first canonical appearance in BFDI.
- This is the first TPOT episode to have no challenge.
- This episode marks Liy's first thumbnail appearance.
- This episode outdates a fact from the BFDI Character Guide, On Teardrop's page, it states "Teardrop has spoken as many times as Roboty's chest cavity has been opened." which is now false, as Roboty's chest cavity was opened once in this episode, and Teardrop has still yet to speak. However, this could imply that Teardrop has spoken before, or that she will speak in the future.
- This is the second (by release date) non-competition BFDI episode, the first being "Welcome Back".
- This is the second eleventh episode to have an alternate intro, with the first being "Lots of Mud".
- According to Tantusar, production of this episode started after most of the chronologically following episode, "What's Up Bell's String?", was completed.[2] This was further confirmed by Cary Huang.[1]
- There are two Davidians confirmed to be trapped inside Four.

Continuity References[]
- During the cupcake making scene, the yellow clock from "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset" reappears.
- The Underworld makes its TPOT debut, which first appeared in BFDIA, in "Catch These Hands". Robot Flower can be seen here due to being dead at the time.
- The grass statue of Four in this episode is a reference to the BFB intro.
- The show Pencil and Bracelety perform is of the very first conversation in "Take the Plunge: Part 1". Bracelety even bends her legs like Match when she says she was "so surprised".
- Bracelety says "Shh! So rude!" which is a reference to a gag in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4". The stage this took place on is also a reference to the stage from the same episode.
- When Four and the EXITors fight at 14:16, the sounds of Robot Flower attacking the TPOT debutants in "The Seven Wonders Of Goiky" are heard.
- Additionally, they fight in a similar way to Needle and Pencil, Coiny and Book, and Bomby and Ruby in "Well Rested".
- Match and Pencil's hug is their famous "unimouth" from BFDI 7.
- 8-Ball saying that he doesn't have a favorite direction is a reference to his "I don't have a favorite number" quote from his audition in "The Reveal".
- At the end of the episode, Two can be seen recovering Robot Flower, with Basketball protesting it, before being chased away by Robot Flower. This is in reference to Basketball deciding not to recover Robot Flower in order to figure out how to fix her personality.
- In the episode, Four is shown sinking into the ground and "possessing" the trees in the Fourest. This is in reference to "B.F.B. = Back From Beginning", where Four sinks into the desert and becomes the ground. This could also reference "Chapter Complete", in which Four rises as a cactus, resembling the trees in the Fourest.
- Match saying "You did not just, like, do that" is the same line she spoke when Tennis Ball (via Golf's Ball's orders) sent Pencil to the incinerator of Golf Ball's Underground Factory in "Zeeky Boogy Doog". It is also almost identical to what she says during her reaction to Epicfaceness483's comment about her in "Get in the Van".
- When Four is attempting to capture 8-Ball, Firey Jr., and Dora, Firey Jr. sets Four on fire, which is in reference to "The Escape from Four", which shows Loser and Spongy escaping Four as Firey Jr. burned Four on his way out. This seems to stun hurt Four. This event also gives Four a distinct hatred towards Firey Jr.
- When Liy says, "I don't want to jinx it, but...", Four is seen hearing it clearly, with his eyes moving/jiggling. This is in reference to the previous episode, "Oneirophobe's Nightmare", where Four hears Ice Cube in the same way.
- When Bracelety asks if there will be an Ice Cube Class, Pencil gets grossed out, saying, "As long as we don't study her, egh, Ugly Face..." This is in reference to when Ice Cube makes her famous ugly face in "Get Digging".
- Bracelety is seen doing said ugly face in the end when they try to break the hotel's windows.
- When Bracelety says "Jump! Jump! Jump!", it is a reference to "Get in the Van" and "Getting Teardrop to Talk".
- When Four says "No gold star for you!", he holds up one of the gold star stickers that he gave to Lollipop for her Four-centered party in "The Game Has Changed".
- Puffball Speaker Box also gave one of these to Book in "Taste the Sweetness", and some of them were later used as one of Flower's makeovers in "Lots of Mud" and one of the Cake at Stake prizes in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4".
- Match, Liy, and Stapy drink the water from the inverted waterfall before vomiting in disgust, possibly referencing W.O.A.H. Bunch being disgusted while drinking water out of the Aerospace Manufacturing Plant in "Intruder Alert".
- Dora having a glowing aura out of anger before smashing her head on the window to break it references "Get to the Top in 500 Steps" where she had a similar aura before dashing up the 500-step platform.
- Match's line "Hold your breath!" is a reference to "Lots of Mud".
- Four calls Bracelety "Ringy" when throwing her off their head, a callback to when that was often mistaken to be her name in "Getting Teardrop to Talk" and "Today's Very Special Episode".
- Match, Stapy, and Liy mention the TLC, in which the former was locked after her eliminations in the first two seasons, as well as IDFB.
- During the food fight, when Four gets a cupcake thrown at his face he is heard doing Evil Leafy's screech.
- Dora gets distracted by an island on the map, claiming she wants to devour them. This references her Insulăvoric nature.
- Pencil says "Let's go, super fast!" like Match does in "Barriers and Pitfalls".
- The fight between Four, Stapy, Liy, and Match mirrors that between W.O.A.H. Bunch and FreeSmart in "Well Rested".
- The calendar during the montage shows pictures of various locations from previous episodes, including the Pillary Ruins, the Grasslands in its pre-TPOT 1 state, the jungle from "Gardening Zero" (albeit with some pumpkins added to the background), and the same background used for the final 14 of post-split BFB in "The Escape from Four".
- When Firey Jr. tells Pencil that Four destroyed half of the four treasure chests he, Dora, and 8-Ball found, Pencil responds with "Great excuse", which is the same thing Fries said to Golf Ball in "Get Digging".
- The music used in the armor montage sequence is a reference to 3000 Subbies
- Stapy's purple and black armor during the montage sequence is a reference to his design in "BFDI APPISIOTE 225555555!!!!!"

- Match's face at 19:02 is a reference to Pin's face in "Get in the Van".
- Match mentioning that Stapy "likes to hinder his own team" is a reference to "Questions Answered".
- Some of the foods seen in the kitchen that fall on David look familiar, notably:
- Taco's fish
- The blueberries from Cloudy's collection
- The onion from "Get in the Van"
- The mangosteen from "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?"
- Jordan's asset from "What Do You Think of Roleplay?"
- In the scene where Firey Jr. escapes the EXIT right after Four knocks the Exitors stack down, Firey Jr. says "Hey Four, You Suck!" possibly being a reference to Roboty's rejoin line saying "....-... ..- -..-" when translated says 4SUX.
Cultural References[]
- The episode's title is a reference to the phrase meaning "without warning" or "unexpectedly".
- The 1930's-themed classroom is a reference to silent movies released in the early 20th century. Particularly, the steering wheel on the chalkboard references the 1928 Mickey Mouse cartoon Steamboat Willie.
- When Firey Jr. is hit into the ground at 1:55, a Super Smash Bros. sound effect plays.
- Bracelety's cupcake topper in cooking class closely resembles Nito, one of mascots of Cartoonito, a preschool programming block for Cartoon Network.
- Four's painting in art class is based off The Son of Man by surrealist painter René Magritte.
- At 13:13 into the episode, when Four is hearing Liy, Stapy and Match, the base sound effect that is played comes from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and it's Playstation 3 game JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven.
- Some parts of the storyline with Pencil, David, and Bracelety might be a reference to the Backrooms, a story made in a 4chan thread in 2019 about mysterious levels that appear to be endless mazes of corridors. If this is on purpose, then Goo Man might be a reference to the Backrooms entities, some of which are gigantic dark-colored beings that seem to undulate and are meant to be difficult for a human to comprehend.
- During the montage of Match, Liy, and Stapy wearing armor, Liy puts on a robot suit that somewhat resembles the Gundam from the Japanese franchise of the same name.
- Match saying "Rest in, like, peace, Stapy, you would have loved escaping the EXIT" is a reference to the popular meme format "RIP (blank) you would have loved (blank)".
- At 18:33, the apparatus from Lethal Company can be seen within the food pile.
- Four saying “It burns, burns, burns” at 15:38, is a reference to “Very Hot”, an old meme in the Object Show Community popularized by katyj98. The song used there is It Burns! Burns! Burns! by Loco Loco.
- The text below Roboty that says "I did it. I saved the day." is likely a reference to a similar line from a video by the YouTuber JonTron in which he reviews the video game Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.
- When the EXITors get locked up in the hotel kitchen, Firey Jr. complains with the phrase "Those numbers are all morons!", which is likely a reference to "My students are all morons", a popular video on TikTok.
- The Goo Man area could be a reference to Happy Town from Osamu Sato's LSD Dream Emulator.
Goofs[]
- The shine on the top of 8-Ball rolls with the asset in some scenes.
- From 1:39 to 2:03, there is a slight mismatch between the audio and lip sync by a few frames. This is most noticeable in Firey Jr's dialogue.
- At 7:34, for a frame, 8-Ball's mouth was black.
- At 17:02, one of Four’s hands turns black for a second.
- The first time Dora says 8-Ball's name, it is subtitled "8 Ball" without the hyphen, and the second time it is subtitled "8-Ball" with the hyphen.
- When Two asks what is happening and the EXITors turn around in Four's hand, Dora's hair changes to its pre-BFB 13 style.
