Appearance[]

Pencil appears to be a No. 2[1] graphite pencil, a pencil most commonly used for writing. Her tip is beige, her graphite is a dark grey, and her main body is 3 shades of orange. Her metal is silver, and her eraser is pink. Between BFDI and BFDIA, her eyes and mouth were moved closer together.

Changes[]

Firey Expansion

  • Pencil has her tip on the top and her eraser on the bottom and has no arms.

TFI

  • Pencil has her eraser on the top and her tip on the bottom, which remains as a permanent change.

BFDI

  • Pencil's eraser outlines are more loosely drawn.

Late BFDI/BFDIA

  • Pencil's eraser outlines are more uniform.
  • Pencil's mouth is located higher.

Mid BFDIA

  • Pencil's metal has its edges more roundish.

Late BFDIA+

  • Pencil's darker shade is a bit reddish-orange kind of color.
  • Pencil's ferrule is lighter and bluish.

Designs[]

Personality[]

Pencil cares a lot about her friends, but can be controlling at times. She cares a lot about upholding her alliance, but gets more strict as the seasons go on. She enjoys being part of a clique, particularly being the leader of said clique. She has shown a dislike of male characters, only being friends with girls (with the exception of some), and being annoyed when forced to be in the presence of boys. In the present day, Pencil has lost most of her friends due to her past behavior, and has become quite mentally unstable due to this and spending 6 years locked away in the EXIT.

BFDI[]

Pencil was usually nice to most of the other contestants, with a few exceptions such as Ice Cube (before she substituted Match in the alliance), Blocky, and mainly, Spongy. She usually stuck around her alliance and would stick up for the other members if anyone harassed them, as seen in episodes like "Don't Lose Your Marbles" where she called out Snowball for popping Bubble.

BFDIA[]

Pencil started building more rivalries with other characters and took over as the alliance leader, officially forming FreeSmart. Within FreeSmart, she values her role, which sometimes leads her to put others down or dismiss their efforts, like with Needle. She can be self-centered and competitive, but when things don’t go her way, she shows a softer, more vulnerable side, like when Ruby was eliminated in "Spore Day".

Despite her flaws, Pencil is loyal to her team and shows respect or admiration, like when Needle sung a lullaby, which in turn helped their duo win the challenge in "PointyPointyPointy ♫".

Even after her elimination, Pencil is still fiercely loyal to her fellow FreeSmarters, exclusively hanging out with Ice Cube and Ruby while offering Book and Needle support during challenges, such as when she went out of her way to recover Needle during "Airplanes in the Night Sky". Overall, Pencil does care about her team, but her desire for control or personal gain shapes her actions.

IDFB[]

Pencil more or less acts the same, but is much nicer towards her alliance. She scolds Ruby for almost getting her killed, and is confused on how Bubble didn't care about the video diary problem. However, Pencil reveals that she doesn't really care about Match being trapped in the LOL, and calls her out for being a little too "needy".

BFB[]

Pencil's behavior takes a more bossy and manipulative turn from IDFB to BFB. In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", she orders Lightning to electrocute contestants she dislikes (namely Spongy and Flower) and demoting Bubble from a member to a "bember" for opposing her actions. She later mocks Bubble with the same nickname for trying to stop Fanny from being zapped by Lightning, and evilly grins at Fanny being torture while Bubble cries, further highlighting her domineering tendencies.

Following her elimination, Pencil becomes noticeably calmer in the EXIT, seen in "Enter the Exit" and "Get to the Top in 500 Steps", where she calmly discusses with Liy. In the former episode, she expresses frustration over the inclusion of boys in what she perceives as an all-girl space, reflecting her history of excluding those outside her alliance or clique. Leafy even explains that Pencil has a tendency to exclude anyone who doesn't align with her preferences (seen in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4"), a trait consistent with her past behavior.

TPOT[]

Pencil evolves from a manipulative figure to a more natural leader, improving relationships with others, including former rivals. In "Outbreak At Stake", she focuses on bettering her attitude and expanding her friendships, even teaming up with Bracelety and David and sending the others (besides Roboty) in other groups. In "Out Of The Blue", she prioritizes teamwork and showing courage. However, she still retains a critical edge.

After leaving the EXIT and officially joining TPOT in "Category One", Pencil competes without her alliance for the first time. Her actions paint her as desperate, controlling, and emotionally unstable, but also deeply afraid of being left behind and getting trapped in the EXIT again. She's fiercely determined to avoid failure, as seen in her relentless efforts to keep her team safe from elimination. However, she often takes extreme measures to secure her position, such as prioritizing the challenge over the fate of the universe in "Seasonal Shift". Pencil doesn't seem to care about her team in "The Power of Four", as she used Winner and Yellow Face as disposable tools to ensure her safety.

Pencil often acts uncaring and aggressive, but deep down, she feels lonely inside and is trying to regain control of her life after everything she went through. She tries to reconnect with old friends, like Book, but when she rejects her, Pencil tries to convince herself that her past relationships, and her time with FreeSmart as a whole, never mattered to her. This could suggest that Pencil confuses friendships and alliances, and that misunderstanding could be the root of many of her social struggles. Without a shared alliance, those connections no longer make sense to her as friendships. As seen in "The Power of Four", she thinks no one cares about her since everyone she had a positive relationship with has left her.

Official Character Guide biography[]

Pencil is a typical No. 2 pencil with a graphite tip. You probably have one in your backpack! Pencil is a born leader, but she can be very demanding.

Pencil uses Lightning to shock anyone who annoys her, especially Flower, Fanny and Spongy. Pencil is an expert at staring contests, even managing to out-stare the legendary David himself.

Did You Know?: Pencil won Total Firey Island, a BFDI-esque comic strip that came before BFDI, making her the first winner of all-time.

Abilities[]

Strengths[]

  • Blinking resistance: Pencil can keep her eyes open without blinking for a very long time (longer than a day) and does not seem to experience any pain from this, as seen in "Reveal Novum" as she rivals even David.
  • Fire resistance: Pencil does not experience pain nor suffer any burn injuries after Donut set Pencil ablaze with Firey, as shown in "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know". She can also suck up the flames and spit it from her mouth as a fire projectile and when that happens, she remains completely unharmed.
  • Drawing: In the Ad Dimension, she is able to draw a product that can then be taken out into the normal world where it then turns into a real version of that object. Being a pencil, she is also able to draw pictures with her tip in the normal world, as seen briefly in "Taste the Sweetness".
  • Bubble-blowing abilities: In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3", when Pencil revives Bubble, Match questions her lack of technique to which she replies by saying that she is "self-taught". This is further expanded upon in "Catch These Hands" where after Pencil is teleported into the trash compactor and is told to imitate "blowing out a candle" she does a special body rotating movement and then blows and is somehow able to blow a bubble that brings Bubble back to life without using any bubble blowing equipment, implying that Pencil can blow bubbles and revive Bubble whenever she wants if she does her self-taught technique.
  • Sharpened tip: In "Spore Day", just before Pencil is about to crushed and chopped to pieces by knives within Pin's mech suit, she is able to use the knives to sharpen her point which she is then able to use to drill out of Pin's mech suit with ease.
  • Strength: In "Start the Shift", Pencil was strong enough to break free from the Elimination Prevention Box as well as a significant amount of duct tape, chains, and locks immediately after Ruby asked her to host along with the other inhabitants of the Weak Trembling Fortress.
  • Driving-skills: Numerous times in the series, Pencil has been shown to have the ability to drive a vehicle, but mostly her super-van, this is most prevalent in BFDIA 5a, 5d-6, & 16 along with it being in TPOT 14, 16. She's also been shown the ability to drive up the side of walls as seen in "Well Rested", along with being able to drive in the air with balloons attached to her van, later in the episode, although while in the air she cannot turn the van around.

Weaknesses[]

  • Being Dulled: Being a pencil, Pencil is able to have her lead dulled. She very much doesn't like this, but as seen in "Lots of Mud", when Coiny dulls her while fighting, she appears to get dizzy.

Coverage[]

Appearances[]

Battle for Dream Island[]

In "Take the Plunge: Part 1", Pencil is first seen with Match, talking about Flower's fear of bugs. Both of them yell when Ice Cube accidentally pops Bubble while hugging her. During the challenge, Bubble, Pencil, and Match all make an alliance. Ice Cube, eager to join, asks them if she could join, just before Pencil is knocked off the beam with new alliance members, Bubble and Match. Pencil angrily refuses to let Ice Cube in the alliance.

In "Take the Plunge: Part 2", Ice Cube complains about Pencil not letting her join Pencil's alliance when Leafy chooses her for Leafy's team, because of this, Pin chooses Pencil to be on her team. And when Pin has trouble deciding who to choose next, Pencil whispers for her to choose Bubble, which Pin does. Then, Pencil chooses Match next since she's in their alliance. Pencil babbles along with everyone else about the team name, making the Speaker choose the teams, dubbing Pencil's team the Squishy Cherries.

During the process of the boat being made, Pin makes Pen, Match, and Pencil be oars, and Pen is shown to be happy about this, while Pencil only shows a look of annoyance. Pencil goes through the hole in the boat, making Firey command her to stay there as a plug. She looks worried when Ice Cube, Leafy, and Coiny are about to crash into their boat, screaming along with the rest of her team. When the boat breaks, Pencil tries to encourage Match to swim with her, but she claims she has no energy left, making Pencil swim to the finish line without her. Pencil's team wins, making her immune from elimination.

Pencil bubble and match

Pencil, Match and Bubble begin the obstacle course after Pencil helps finding Blocky

In "Barriers and Pitfalls", Pencil was sent by Pin to find Blocky, although she wanted to stay with her alliance. Once Pencil found the fish that supposedly ate Blocky, she tried doing a dance to make it open its mouth, although the fish then tries eating her. After being freed from the fish, Pencil and her alliance went as fast as possible and did not help the opposing team. When Pencil tries jumping through the falling obstacle, she gets dulled. She falls along with the alliance when Rocky breaks the ski lift.

In "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?", she does not take the test (drawing an infinite doodle instead). When Match plays around with her mini-Match while playing Spongy Cake, brushing it against Pencil's pencil, their tests were caught on fire, so they did not turn them in (resulting in no score). While Match slaps Bubble, Pencil gets shocked then asks Match that she killed her own friend and comes to the conclusion that Bubble is dumb when she can't count to 3, even though Bubble just died before getting to 3. She also suggests ripping Bubble's test since they figure she'd be too dumb to pass.

In "Sweet Tooth", she randomly turns into Bubble in front of Match during Cake at Stake. She talks to Match about Bubble being "dumb", however, Pencil realizes Bubble is not "dumb" later in the episode after seeing Bubble count to 8. Pencil, along with Match and Bubble purchase slices of Leafy's strawberry cake for the challenge. Pencil ends up getting a low score of 13 tying with Bubble and Snowball for the second lowest score behind Golf Ball's 0.

In "Bridge Crossing", she first faints when the Announcer says he had to use an ice cake for the second time due to not having a regular cake, and Pin says she's overreacting, but it turns out the Announcer was kidding and he actually got an ice cream cake. When Needle lands back to earth, Match is grossed out at the sight of her, making Pencil state she liked "Needies", but is slapped by Needle for saying so. When the Announcer gives her cake, the cake splattered all over her back, much to her dismay. She's later seen jumping along with Match off the cliff to catch Bubble after she falls off the broken bridge.

In "Power of Three", she says she doesn't like Cake at Stake, only to claim she likes it when threatened with immediate elimination. She's placed on the same team as her alliance in the challenge. During the contest, Match accidentally locks Pencil in a safe and she and Bubble forget about her for a while until they nearly get to the next island. They place third and are safe from elimination.

In "Puzzling Mysteries", when the TLC fails to close completely, Pencil tells the Announcer that the carrying capacity is 6 and that there are 6 people inside, along with Spongy. Match and Pencil have a hard time finishing the jigsaw puzzle since the pieces are upside down and instead talk about the time when Eraser stepped on a nail in BFDI 1B. Her team loses the contest and is still trapped in the room by night.

Pencil and Pen in Cycle of Life

Pencil being carried by Pen in the relay race

In "Cycle of Life", Match and Pencil talk about their votes so far. In the relay race, Pencil has to carry Match, who she claims is gaining weight. When it's her turn, Match asks Pencil if she's fat, and Pencil says she was "JK kidding". They lose the challenge due to Bubble popping.

In "Insectophobe's Nightmare", Match and Pencil notice Ice Cube falling from a cliff as a result of a prank from the previous episode. Pencil thinks Ice Cube is shrinking, to which Match corrects her and tells her that Ice Cube is falling. When Ice Cube shatters at the bottom of the cliff, She ends up pushing Pencil and Match off the cliff during her freefall. Pencil and her team finally win a challenge by being first in the six-legged race.

In "Crybaby!", she was the only member of her alliance to choose Snowball on the team along with Pen and Eraser, due to him winning more contests (albeit only because he was the only one who ripped the ties on the literal tie breakers). Match and Bubble were not very happy. Pencil has a hard time crying in the crying challenge. After tying in the skiing contest, her team finally wins in the handstand tiebreaker, but Rocky ends up vomiting on the Squishy Cherries' platform, resulting in Pencil and her teammates slipping on it. Eraser is the only one who didn't slip on Rocky's vomit and he wins a Win Token as a result.

In "Lofty", a few clones of Pencil can be seen laughing at Another Name as they walk to the Cake at Stake area. Pencil just votes for Rocky to stay since the entire team already picked him unanimously. She loses the balloon contest when Snowball, her own teammate, pops her balloon for its pink color.

In "A Leg Up in the Race", many clones of Pencil can be seen laughing at Another Name as they walk to Cake at Stake. Pencil places 7th in the ladder challenge. She is the only one who doesn't lose any points since she never got a vote and is safe from elimination after the points are established.

In "Don't Lose Your Marbles", In the prologue, Pencil is seen getting angry with Snowball for popping Bubble. After Blocky is pushed off a platform by Leafy's bouncy ball, he drops Remote who in turn releases two batteries. The batteries release acid that kills both Pencil and Snowball. Later, Pencil and her alliance talk about how great it is for them all to be in the final 11. In the challenge, she is the first to turn in a ball, giving her 30 points. This makes her the second highest in points, behind Pen.

In "Half a Loaf Is Better Than None", Pencil tries to get Match out of a cliff and calls Bubble to help her, before she and everyone else ends up falling. She is upset when Match is eliminated and accepts Ice Cube as an alliance member out of desperation. Pencil cheers for Match to rejoin in the bread loaf contest and is disgusted when Spongy ends up winning. She is seen trying to retrieve marbles from the acid vat and dies. In the challenge, Pencil tries to use "alliance power" to jump over a variable height hurdle but ultimately fails when the hurdle hits her tip.

In "Vomitaco", Pencil plays catch with Bubble and Ice Cube. She later calls Ice Cube "garbage" compared to Match, as she didn't find it fun playing without her. Pencil chooses the barf bag contest along with her alliance. She gets angry with Rocky when he pukes in the giant bag that actually had colored water and throws a bowling ball at him. She then covers a leak in the bag with a pillow and throws barf on Blocky. She decides to make ice cream with Bubble using Ice Cube as the ice. Bubble finds it disgusting and Pencil throws Ice Cube in the barf.

Pencil is now the last contestant on the barf bag. The hole she plugged takes her out and she falls after standing for a whole minute, giving her 60 points. She is later glad about not choosing the taco contest, to which Bubble asks why, but Pencil pops her due to not wanting to answer "stupid" questions. She then is seen telling Firey to hurry up with his taco as he has some trouble making it.

Pencil puppte

Pencil on the puppet segment

In "Bowling, Now with Explosions!", Pencil is one of the various puppets used for the beginning of the episode. Leafy questions what she's doing and she says she's looking at clouds. Leafy says she looks bored and suggests they do something fun like jumping off a cliff, which Pencil takes literally. They decide to watch clouds with Pen instead. They later get real life objects of their counterparts and stab themselves in the middle.

They all celebrate when Blocky removes their counterparts and they return to normal. She mentions how it is great to be puppets, before they become animated again, resulting as an April Fools' prank. At Cake at Stake, she is the first person to receive an explosive pie. Pencil later mentions how it's wonderful to be in the final nine. During the bowling ball contest, Pencil makes the final throw, launching the ball to smash Ice Cube and hit 5 pins in the center.

While subtracting points, she decides to take away 25 points off everyone except her alliance and herself. Blocky and Firey take away 56 and 30 points respectively from her for subtracting their scores, while Leafy took away 10 points off her and everyone else for equality. Pencil is up for elimination along with everyone else, except Firey for knocking down a strike, for the first time since "Bridge Crossing".

In "The Reveal", Pencil demands springy shoes from Leafy after she gave some to Bubble. Leafy takes Bubble's springy shoes from her so Pencil can have them, but Bubble later gets them back. At Cake at Stake, Pencil's no vote streak was broken (even her first voter, englishcreamcakes, got mentioned) but she is still safe with 38 votes. Pencil and Bubble do very well in the frisbee-throwing contest and both get 200 points for getting first place.

In "Reveal Novum", Pencil votes for Tennis Ball to be eliminated, despite saying he was very fuzzy. In the challenge, Pencil comes first in the staring contest beating Spongy, Rocky, and David (who took an entire day to blink). At one point while staring against David, she calls out Bubble, asking what's been with her lately, when she simply asked if her eyes hurt. Despite winning the contest, due to the scoreboard only holding 2 digit numbers, she still gets into the danger zone.

In "Rescission", Firey shows Pencil his emergency button and tests it on Bubble, causing her to disappear, making Pencil mad as she thought it was the cruelest way she ever died. She then takes the emergency button and uses it on Firey, Leafy, and all the recommended characters in the episode. Spongy then tumbles onto her, and Rocky is about to barf into her, causing her to worry until Rocky speaks. She asks him if it feels weird to talk after 15 months of silence but Rocky went back to barfing on her afterwards.

At the Cake at Stake, the Announcer reminds Pencil how she never got a single vote until "Bowling, Now with Explosions!", and then says that for this episode, she got 259, the most ever at that point, causing her to be eliminated. Pencil, mad at this, slams the Announcer thinking that he's been broken before she's sent by the Laser Powered Teleportation Device. The Announcer then mentions how Pencil was always a menace anyway. Bubble worries about what they can do without her and Match, and Ice Cube suggest that Needle joins in, but gets slapped because she called her "Needy".

Pencil's Promo Pic

Pencil's audition to rejoin BFDI

In "Gardening Hero", Pencil gets a chance to rejoin the game. In her audition, she uses her chanting to get the viewers to vote for her.

In "The Glistening", When Blocky votes for Firey to "put up with the fire", Pencil makes a weird exaggerated laugh. She decides to vote for Ice Cube, along with 9 other eliminated contestants. She only got 60 votes to rejoin and is teleported back into the TLC.

In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2", Pencil is first seen in the TLC where she says that she can't wait to be freed since BFDI was confirmed to be "cancelled". She and the other members are then "eaten" by the bugs, but it later turns out that everyone just faked their deaths. When the TLC disappears due to Flower deflecting the Laser Powered Teleportation Device, everyone, including Pencil celebrates, until the TLC teleports back into it's spot.

In "The Return of the Hang Glider", after being released from the TLC, she tries to vote for Bubble to win but instead votes for Leafy in fear of being slapped by the other contestants. She, Match, and Bubble are all let into Dream Island first by Firey. Pencil is shocked to hear that Dream Island was stolen but doesn't seem to mind as she tells Pen to get over it.

Pencil then calls out Firey for not letting Leafy into Dream Island. Later, she is glad when a spike lands in Rocky's mouth so that he can't barf and announces the news to everyone else. After learning that Leafy stole Dream Island, Pencil finds Flower's Announcer Crusher to use to give Leafy the death penalty. After the credits, she asks Match if it would be weird if the first and last spoken words of BFDI were the same.

Battle for Dream Island Again[]

Pencil and Pen

Pencil showing Pen her Leafy-detector

In "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", Pencil gets 320 votes and gets into the 2nd season. In the beginning, following the events of the previous episode, she is one of the various contestants chasing down Leafy who stole Dream Island. When Golf Ball questions Pen on how they should get her in the forest, Pencil tells them about the Leafy detector she owns and uses it to slow down Leafy until they catch up to her. Later while deciding on teams she has an argument with Donut over the size of the teams and has a vertical rectangle as a favourite screen.

In "Get Digging", Pencil decides to kick Ice Cube out of her alliance because she made an "ugly face". She is assigned to add the ingredients to the team's Yoyle Stew along with Ruby and Match. They add a lot of poisonous, harmful, and often inedible ingredients to the stew. As they work, Pencil recruits Ruby into the alliance and discusses her plans on reviving Bubble, but Ruby declines stating that it would be dangerous and not worth it for "someone who can't count to three".

In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3", Pencil's alliance does not participate in the contest since they decided to excuse themselves. Pencil has a conference with Ruby, Pencil decides to finally revive Bubble, considering herself self-taught and explains to her why Ruby should be in the alliance, stating that it wouldn't hurt having four members. She assigns Book and Ice Cube as alternates to her alliance when they question her, to which Book only replies angrily, "Fine!".

Pencil's Blood

Pencil being sent to Golf Ball's incinerator by Tennis Ball

In "Zeeky Boogy Doog", Pencil saves Gelatin's life. She later scolds Ruby for reviving Flower and jokingly threatens to expel her from the alliance. At the challenge, she practices freedom of speech from Golf Ball which gets her dragged into the incinerator by Tennis Ball.

In "Get in the Van", Pencil saves Match from elimination by using the elimination prevention plan, which involves tying her legs to the stage used for Cake at Stake. She forms a new team with her entire alliance, calling it FreeSmart, due to not wanting to use the word of freedom, because it sounded like saying they were dumb, and drives the FreeSmart Van bringing the HPRC and later accidentally driving into Evil Leafy and Tennis Ball, Golf Ball and Rocky.

In BFDIA 5b, Pencil is not a playable character but is coded into the game. She plays similarly to Match since their sizes are mostly the same.

In "No More Snow!", Pencil asks Ruby to press a button on top of Evil Leafy, which they have a hard time doing so due to Ruby accidentally pushing other buttons and crying when Pencil shouts at her, which then zaps her, killing her. She wasn't recovered yet due to the HPRC being crushed by W.O.A.H. Bunch.

In "It's a Monster", Pencil gets revived by Match and drives the new FreeSmart Supervan. Pencil mentions how they don't need the HPRC due to already having a Leg-Powered Recovery Center, and Book questions what would happen if she used her hands, to which Pencil mentions "she'd be very sorry". Book uses it with her hands nonetheless, and the LPRC disappears, leading to Pencil shout why did she did it. She then decides to steal the HPRC with the magnet in the van. While they go across the Goiky Canal, she along with the rest of FreeSmart drown and revive each other numerous times.

Pencilsawed

Pencil being sawed in half by FreeSmart in order to win the contest

In "The Long-lost Yoyle City", Pencil finally drives out of the Goiky Canal. When she and her team reach Yoyle City, She gets caught in the tongue of a fish monster for the second time. When FreeSmart fail to set her free, Pencil insists that they kill her and recover her using the Hand-Powered Recovery Center. FreeSmart cut her in half using a saw and she is successfully recovered. Later on, She delays Team No-Name from reaching the summit by freezing them and kicking Rocky into the jaws of the fish monster, as payback for him barfing on her two years ago. FreeSmart ends up winning the challenge, reaching 1st place, although in the process Match is sent to the LOL and TLC when the Firey Speaker Box sees her. Firey Speaker Box then interrogates Bubble, who pretends to be a tree. Pencil tries to help her sound more convincing as a tree, but Bubble is ultimately flung somewhere unknown. Later, W.O.A.H. Bunch makes it to the summit as well. Pin celebrates over their victory, but Pencil reminds her that they only placed second. Pencil is last seen falling from the summit with everyone else.

In "Well Rested", Pencil and the others are still falling from the summit until they hit the ground. Pencil feels that they should stay in Yoyleland because the only recovery center is glued to the ground. For the challenge, the team's must find a building to sleep in. Pencil has the team enter the FreeSmart SuperVan so that they can drive to the Pillow Marketplace. But before they go, Pencil locks Ice Cube in the trunk so she doesn't have to hear the noise from her headphones. After driving around for hours, Pencil clearly doesn't know where their destination is. Ruby gets the information they need from Book and finds out the Pillow Marketplace is on one of the higher floors of the Yoyle Needy. Pencil drives the FreeSmart SuperVan through a balloon store, allowing the vehicle to float so that they can park on the top floor of the Yoyle Needy. Suddenly a pipe appears in the sky. Pencil isn't able to avoid it and crashes the van into the pipe. The water getting pulled in from the pipe starts to flood the inside of the van, so everyone has to hold their breathes.

Once the sun sets, the team is completely submerged underwater. They pull out some snorkels and jam them through the roof of the van, allowing them to breathe. Suddenly, the van's weight causes the pipe they're stuck to to tilt. The pipe rotates several times, allowing the team to steal W.O.A.H. Bunches pillows and sleeping bags. The pipe then balances itself out, and the two team's face off against each other on the pipe with Pencil kicking Rocky to his death. Pencil and Needle duel each other and Pencil eventually wins. Spongy charges in to help Needle, causing the pipe to tilt again. The end of the pipe with the FreeSmart SuperVan hits Pin's point, causing the water from inside the van to burst out and flood the aerospace building.

Pencil fighting Needle

Pencil fighting Needle

Amidst the chaos, Book eventually realizes that they should be sleeping, not fighting. So FreeSmart tries to go to sleep quickly. W.O.A.H. Bunch continues to try and sabotage them by telling scary stories. Coiny starts repeating the name "Evil Leafy", which makes the FreeSmart members wince in their sleep. Eventually, Evil Leafy appears and puts both teams at a stalemate on the dehumidifier (which is now dunking each team as Evil Leafy teleports to them). Ice Cube eventually pulls out the balloons from the van and has everyone tie one around themselves in order to escape the predicament below. Once everyone is in the sky, Ice Cube plays relaxing music that puts the team to sleep, so FreeSmart wins the challenge, coming in second. In the stinger, the team decides to start recording video diaries together.

In "Intruder Alert", Pencil addresses Match in FreeSmart's daily video diary, recalling the time when she would wish upon a star that they would win Dream Island. She later gets into a debate with Ruby before hearing the contest wheel being spun, ordering her team to pop their balloons. After landing, Pencil asks Firey Speaker Box to tell her the challenge; he denies her request and she faints upon realizing they need to try every contest on the wheel. After waking up, she refuses Firey and Gelatin's request to join FreeSmart until they state they know what the challenge is. Pencil participates in every incorrect challenge Firey and Gelatin claim, being sharpened to death by Ruby in one instance. The team runs out of time, and are put up for elimination because they built no loser chamber.

In "Meaty", Ruby gives Pencil some gears for her to use as earrings. At Cake at Stake, Pencil is the last one safe, receiving 13,530 dislikes. She then feeds Firey a yoyleberry in order to turn him metal to avoid burning down the Weak Trembling Fortress. After Firey Speaker Box breaks down due to his owner's elimination, Pencil uses a magnet to remove the knife from Puffball Speaker Box, which non-fatally stabs her in the head.

During the challenge, Pencil fires lasers at Fries' car to prevent Team No-Name from taking the lead. After FreeSmart loses their paint can, Pencil infuses the laser gun with some of the remaining paint, allowing FreeSmart to cover most of the Eiffel Tower with pink paint. After Fries knocks the laser gun out of Ruby's hand, Pencil jumps after it, being killed upon impact with the ground.

In "Catch These Hands", Pencil recovers herself due to the properties of the Yoylite near her corpse allowing her spirit to remain conscious. During the challenge, Pencil shows apprehension towards volunteering to go into the crusher first, and ends up in it once Book points to her phrase in her pages. Her phrase is "blowing out a candle", which her team fails to guess. In a last-ditch effort, she blows extra hard, managing to recover Bubble in the process. The two of them are then crushed, and Pencil is next seen in Hell, believing Spongy to be Bubble; Spongy hands her a mirror and she screams at her now-uncanny appearance. She greets each new arrival, combusts due to a nearby fire, and flattens Fries when he doesn't want to talk in a verbose manner. In the stinger, Pencil expresses disappointment in the fact that no one is helping put out the fire that she's in.

In "Taste the Sweetness", Pencil is the first contestant in Hell to be recovered, and she assists Ruby in recovering the rest of the dead contestants. She admonishes Ice Cube for making an ugly face, but reneges once she makes her beautiful face, seeing as it's bringing new alternates to FreeSmart (soon to become The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute).

For the contest, Golf Ball orders Pencil (along with Needle and Nickel) to market the ice cream, and Pencil notes Golf Ball did not give herself a job. Pencil alerts the recommended characters of the free ice cream they're selling, causing them to rush into Gelatin's Steakhouse. Pencil then makes flyers to advertise the ice cream, drawing on the papers with her body. Afterwards, she successfully encourages the recommended characters to repeat the jingle she created. Despite this, her team loses the challenge.

In "Lots of Mud", Pencil worries about facing elimination. Ice Cube's upside-down ugly face ease the tension momentarily, but Pencil's anxiety resurfaces repeatedly. Golf Ball eventually halts the cycle, prompting the group to head over to the Cake at Stake place. The team walk three miles to the arena as they are surrounded by various clones of Fries, who are mocking them for losing. At the ceremony, Pencil's disgusted reaction to the plain cake flavour is evident, and hesitantly calls it "brilliant" after Puffball Speaker Box adds Jack's hair to the cake.

As the votes were being slowly disclosed, she appears nauseated, but narrowly escapes the bottom three receiving only 9,808 dislikes. She embraces Ice Cube in relief, hoping that she also ends up surviving the elimination, and expresses relief and celebrating with her team as Ice Cube was unveiled to be the last one safe. After Cake at Stake, The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute is renamed to "The Bad Face Destruction Institute" but quickly disbands. Pencil chooses to stay with Ice Cube as she didn't want to lose 3 years of friendship with Match's substitute. They reform as Less Restrained, Less Dumb (LRLD).

Later, during the contest, LRLD confronts Flower, now the new host, to give her a makeover. Despite initial resistance from Ice Cube, they experimented with various styles, and eventually settled for Jack's hair. Flower rewards the girls with a petal, but it's not enough for them to avoid elimination. Book asks Pencil if she had any more fashion looks in mind, as an attempt to potentially obtain more petals, but Pencil admits that she doesn't, so they all resort to pulling. Fries insults Flower's new look, prompting her to chase after LRLD. Later, the girls are once again struggling to destroy the locks and rip off another one of Flower's petals, as Coiny walks up to [Flower] with one of the keys. Book notices this and they all fight him for the key. Coiny uses Pencil to shatter Ruby, and Pencil reprimands him for doing so whilst repeatedly kicking him in the face. Coiny then dulls her by writing in Book, and Pencil seemingly loses consciousness. They end up losing the challenge.

In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4", Pencil is first seen playing Spongycake with Ice Cube. Ruby says if they were to play well enough, their fairy godmother would appear. They play enthusiastically, but instead of the Fairy Godmother, Flower appears, announcing their elimination.

At the Cake at Stake arena, Pencil criticizes Flower's hair, causing a tense exchange. Pencil ends up being the last one safe with 12,939 dislikes, and Ice Cube is eliminated. Pencil suggests replacing Icy, and Ruby agrees, and so they use the revived Swap Token to force a switch.

Despite Nickel's plea, Pencil chooses Needle, who reluctantly agrees after slapping Pencil for calling her needy. During the challenge, Pencil throws bugs at Fries, who is disadvantaged by being a solo team. Golf Ball aims a rack of bugs at everyone (except Tennis Ball) which they all dodge. TB throws bugs at FreeSmart, and Pencil uses Book's corpse as a shield. Ruby dons a bug-squished shirt and asks how she looks, to which Pencil responds positively. As the recovery center is about to explode, Ruby tells FreeSmart to take cover behind Spongy. However, Pencil excludes Needle, saying that despite her being on their team, she is still not a member, and in order for her to get promoted she must perform an act of sacrifice.

Once they escape the fashion store, Needle urges Pencil and Ruby to run after Golf Ball and Tennis Ball to the bug hive. They follow the duo through the evil forest, the desert, the BFDIA 9 challenge arena and the snowy forest before eventually reaching the hive. Pencil realises where they are and asks why they would come here, to which Needle tells her that it had something to do with Anti-Poison. Pencil gives her a thumbs up and says that's good to know. Inside the cave, they see Golf Ball and Tennis Ball searching for the Queen. Pencil decides they should also search for the Queen by counting dots on the bugs.

In another scene Pencil asks Needle if she found any Queens underwater, but Needle hasn’t. They see Tennis Ball extracting anti-poison from the Queen, and Golf Ball mentions that high temperatures denature it. Pencil tells Needle to write this down and wonders where Ruby is. Just then Ruby appears, who is actually her sister Poo in disguise. Pencil points out that "Ruby" is looking browner than usual, to which "Ruby" quickly denies and blames it on the lighting. Pencil questions Needle about "Ruby's" appearance, but Needle slaps her because she called her needy, which in turn wakes the bugs. Everyone runs out except for Pencil, who freezes in place. Bugs land all over her body and poison her, leading to her demise.

Later on in the episode she appears in a flashback of when she told Needle that she could be promoted to a member through the act of sacrifice. This is what prompted Needle to kill Coiny in favour of FreeSmart, resulting in them being the only team not up for elimination. Because of this, everyone on the team, including Pencil, is safe.

In "Well, Look Who It Is!", Pencil is revived by Ruby, and Yellow Face is also recovered. The BFDIA contestants take turns carrying Yellow Face to the WTF, and laugh at the eliminated contestants for losing. However, when Pencil joins in the laughter, the others glare at her, and Fries criticizes her for it.

As the BFDIA contestants head home to prepare for the next Cake at Stake, Needle approaches Pencil and inquires about the benefits of being a FreeSmart member. Pencil, puzzled, asks when Needle became a FreeSmart member, and Needle explains her act of sacrifice from the previous episode. Since Pencil was dead at that time and missed it, she turns to Book for confirmation. Book points out that she, too, was dead, so Pencil remains unconvinced and tells Needle to return once she has made a sacrifice that Pencil can witness.

In "PointyPointyPointy ♫", after Pin declares she wants revenge, Pencil quickly tells the other FreeSmarters to run. They all dash toward the door, but when Pencil tries to open it, she finds it locked. As a result, the bugs punish Pencil by poisoning her for "violating cake at stake etiquette".

Later, Needle recovers Pencil using the anti-poison. Pencil asks where she is, and Needle explains that she is Pencil's team member, and that they are now on Dora's island. Due to the side effects of the anti-poison, Pencil develops a strong craving to eat something and so she ends up devouring a part of the island. Dora, impressed, congratulates Pencil for completing the challenge by eating the island and allows them to advance to the next island. Pencil, surprised to see that Dora is still alive, reacts with shock, but Dora angrily sends her away.

Pencil and Needle decide to help Book and Ruby advance towards Dora's island by using a pipe. Pencil instructs them to swim up the stream, and they do so. Once they reach the top, the four of them share a warm hug. However, Ruby points out that they aren't truly reunited yet and pulls out a bubble blower. Realizing what Ruby means, Pencil takes the bubble blower and uses it to bring Bubble back to life. With Bubble revived, they all share another hug before swimming up the waterfall to ascend to the next island together.

On the next island, Pencil expresses how much she misses Teardrop. Ruby then spots a Teardrop family reunion happening nearby, and they decide to check it out. During their exploration, they encounter Toilet Brush, who talks non-stop. Annoyed, Ruby pushes them off the island for not shutting up. In response, Coffeedrop rewards Ruby with a helium tank. Pencil inhales the helium and begins imitating Ruby, which leads to Ruby slapping her in frustration. Bubble also inhales the helium and starts floating into the air. The rest of the FreeSmarters quickly grab onto her, and together they slowly ascend to the next island.

They reach the fourth island, where they meet Match, Coiny and Pin. Match is thrilled to see Pencil after such a long time, excitedly mentioning how much they need to catch up. Oddly, Pencil appears reluctant to talk to her, brushing off Match's enthusiasm by saying she's too busy before walking away.

The FreeSmarters then observe Coiny and Pin struggling to build a raft and begin to worry that they might have to do the same. Sensing their concern and wanting to help her best friends, Match decides to share a secret with them: there’s a hidden raft located near the shipwreck on Teardrop’s island. With this newfound knowledge, the FreeSmarters quickly leave to retrieve it.

They arrive at Teardrop’s island, and Pencil asks the group for ideas on how they can find the hidden raft. Book recalls that Match mentioned something about it being near the shipwreck, so they decide to split up and search various parts of the ship. After regrouping, they discover that none of them have found anything. Pencil then asks Bubble for updates, only to learn that Bubble didn’t check because she was too scared to go inside the ship. Ruby encourages everyone to go inside, reminding them that they only live once, and they all head down several flights of stairs until they reach a room with a map of the island pinned to the wall.

On the map, the FreeSmarters notice a red cross marked under the shipwreck, leading Book to conclude that the raft is hidden beneath the ship. Pencil remarks that it's great and suggests they take the raft before leaving. However, before they can do so, Evil Leafy suddenly blocks the door. As Evil Leafy lunges at them, the group scatters across the room, desperately trying to avoid her. They attempt to leave the room again but Evil Leafy blocks the exit once more. Bubble then spots a trap door, so Pencil and Ruby rush over to open it. Unfortunately, the handle breaks off in the process, causing them to fall to the ground.

Evil Leafy appears right in front of Pencil, but before she can strike, Book quickly uses Needle to pry open the trap door and throws Evil Leafy off Pencil. With the path now clear, the FreeSmarters swiftly escape through the trap door, however, Ruby notices that Book didn’t make it out like the rest of them. Pencil, seemingly unfazed, dismisses it by saying that Book made a noble sacrifice and that they need to move on. But just as they're about to leave, Book suddenly emerges from the water.

The group of five shares a joyful hug, grateful that Book survived, but their moment is interrupted when Evil Leafy gets in between them. Reacting quickly, Needle grabs the shipwreck and hurls it onto Evil Leafy, revealing the hidden raft beneath it. With the raft now in their possession, the FreeSmarters swiftly depart from the island.

They return to Match's island, where Match proudly remarks that FreeSmart is staying on top. However, when Needle asks what place they’re in, Match bluntly reveals that they’re in last, much to Pencil's frustration. Ruby shows Match the raft they retrieved, and just as they're all about to say Bubble's catchphrase, Pencil allows Bubble to say it herself. Pencil then throws the raft onto the volcano, and the group soars towards the fifth island. They arrive at the final island, where the challenge is to sing a song that Puffball likes in order to advance to the bunk beds and win immunity. Pencil steps onto the platform, ready to perform, but her mind goes blank as she struggles to decide on a song. She turns to Needle for help, and Needle steps up to sing a heartfelt lullaby that brings Puffball to tears. Puffball is moved by the song and allows the platform Needle and Pencil are on to rise to the bunk beds. Pencil, relieved and grateful, hugs Needle and thanks her, saying she owes her a big one. They climb into bed as Needle’s lullaby plays again from the speakers, scoring them immunity and making them the third team to do so.

In "Spore Day", Pencil stands with Needle and Book, idly chatting until Ruby eagerly approaches them, brimming with excitement. Pencil, curious, asks Ruby what’s going on. Ruby directs their attention to a nearby chameleon, excitedly pointing out that it shares her exact color. Needle chimes in, agreeing that it’s pretty impressive, but soon shifts her attention to a caterpillar behaving strangely. Concerned, she asks why it looks so shrivelled up, and Book concludes that the caterpillar is likely dehydrated.

Without hesitation, Needle pulls out an eyedropper filled with water, preparing to rehydrate the creature. However, just before she can carry out the task, Pencil steps in and interrupts her. She insists on taking over, reminding Needle that she's a "full FreeSmarter", emphasizing her seniority within the group. With a quick flourish, Pencil finishes the job, dropping water on the caterpillar as Book and Ruby cheer her on. Despite the success, Needle feels a pang of disappointment, realizing that Pencil's remark about being a "full FreeSmarter" implies that she herself isn't considered fully part of the team.

At the Cake at Stake ceremony, Pencil is automatically declared safe, having been one of the eight contestants who reached the bunk bed in the previous challenge. She also casually tells Book that she's "looking a bit monstrous today". When Ruby is revealed to be eliminated, Pencil becomes visibly upset. She solemnly declares that FreeSmart is falling apart, lamenting that first they lost Bubble, and now Ruby. Her words carry a sense of helplessness, feeling as though her team is crumbling piece by piece.

Pencil, Needle and Book

Needle steps in, assuring Pencil that they don’t have to lose Bubble permanently. Pulling out a bubble blower, Needle blows a new bubble, effectively reviving Bubble. As soon as Bubble comes back to life, she gratefully thanks Needle, but calls her "needy" in the process. Needle immediately slaps Bubble, causing her to pop again. Pencil, now utterly confused, watches Needle scold the empty air for calling her "needy" when no one is there. Meanwhile, Book scans the surrounding area and realises that Ruby's sisters are being fringed, revealing that it was they, not Ruby, who had been competing in her place all along. Pencil dismisses the idea, calling it ridiculous, adding that Book "must’ve been born yesterday". Book replies that's impossible, because she is a history textbook.

For the next contest, the contestants must form groups of three. Pencil, Book, and Needle decide to team up, but after all the teams are formed, a massive wall suddenly emerges from the ground, splitting each contestant from their supposed teammates. Confused by this unexpected twist, Balloony clarifies that the teams are actually determined by the shapes printed on their mats, meaning Pencil is actually on a team with Coiny and Fries, much to her disgust.

Blocky names their team "The Hearts", which Pencil finds cute. Barf Bag then explains the challenge: all members of a team must successfully enter the birdhouse. The first team to do so will win immunity, while the others will face elimination. With the rules set, the challenge begins. Fries tries to squeeze into the birdhouse, but it's far too small for anyone to fit. Seeing this, Coiny starts crushing Fries, trying to shrink him down, while Pencil watches in shock at the absurd scene unfolding before her.

Later, Needle pulls Pencil and Book aside, expressing that she doesn't have much time. She asks if they'll regroup after the challenge, to which Pencil agrees but reminds Needle that she's still waiting for her act of sacrifice. Needle insists that she already made that sacrifice in the last episode with the jetpack, but Pencil struggles to believe it. Needle explains that it happened because Pencil was poisoned at the time, then turns to Book for confirmation. However, she finds that Book has already left, leaving Needle feeling frustrated.

Pencil in BFDIA 15

Subsequently, Pencil tells Book that she heard from Stacy that people shrink when no one is thinking about them. The scene then shifts to Tennis Ball, who is visibly shrinking as Pencil and Book observe. Book points out that, as a research journal, she can confirm that this claim is false. At that moment, Tennis Ball stops shrinking.

She returns to her team and cheers on Coiny as he continues to crush Fries. Coiny then turns to her and insists that it’s her turn next. Pencil, feeling uncomfortable with the idea, suggests changing their strategy. As she scans the area, she spots Tennis Ball holding a shrink ray and proposes that they take it for themselves. To her surprise, Fries suddenly comes to life and agrees with her suggestion.

Fries swoops in to grab the shrink ray, and with it now in their possession, Pencil tells Fries to shrink her. He complies, but ends up shrinking her down far too much. Coiny scolds Fries for the mishap, but Fries dismisses him, insisting that Pencil is now more manageable this way. He then picks her up and places her in his fries. Inside the fries, Pencil begins sampling them, discovering they're coated with sugar. The first fry tastes salty, the second one is "sweet as a gumdrop," the third has a distinct expired flavor, and the fourth makes her gag and vomit.

Later, Pencil's team is ambushed by The Stars. Coiny pleads with Pencil for assistance, and she agrees, declaring herself the "Queen of Hearts." She leaps from fry to fry, ultimately making a final giant jump onto Pin.

Pin tries to shake Pencil off, but the latter manages to slip into her mech suit, where she quickly splits the "garbage disposal" wire in half. The sudden jolt causes Pin pain, causing her to release Fries, who is then launched into the air. Later, Pencil continues to tamper with the wires, nearly driving Pin off a ledge, but Book intervenes just in time and uses the shrink ray on Pin. Inside the mech suit, Pencil feels the walls closing in around her. To cope, she starts singing, which unexpectedly activates the companion unit. Surprised but relieved, she uses this moment to insult Pin, causing the companion unit to retract and surround her with several knives. Initially panicking, Pencil quickly recalls that she has seen this scenario before and cleverly uses the knives as a pencil sharpener. Now sharpened and ready, she manages to squeeze her way out of the mech suit, infuriating Pin.

Pencil charges at Pin using her point, telling her that this is what she gets for axing her friend Ruby. She lunges at Pin and she screams, so Book tells Pin to take cover in her pages. She gets inside and Book slams the pages shut, stopping Pencil in her tracks. She tells Book to open up, and Book apologises but says she has to protect her fellow teammate. Pencil reminds her that Pin is a nemesis to the FreeSmart cause before taunting her by recalling the time when Pin electrocuted Book and Ruby. Convinced, Book opens the pages and Pencil hops inside. Inside, she violently attacks Pin, inadvertently destroying several venues in Book's pages.

Pencil and Book

Later, Book's pages get soaked, causing the words and illustrations to disintegrate. Pencil starts to lose her grip and falls into the water. Once submerged, the group notice that lead paint has contaminated the area, prompting Book to warn everyone to swim away to avoid poisoning. Pencil, Book, Pin, and Nickel successfully evade the lead, and Book utilizes the zap shooter to bring the birdhouse into the water, as requested by Pin. She hits her target, and the birdhouse lands in the water, but it’s soon engulfed by lead paint. Pin urges everyone to swim toward the birdhouse, but unfortunately, all of them except for Book get poisoned.

Subsequently, Pencil is recovered by Coiny. All the teams attempt to reach the birdhouse but are halted by the lead paint, which poisons them. Pin turns to Fries, blaming him for introducing the lead into the water, but Pencil counters that she’s the reason the birdhouse is even in the water. She tries to shoot Pin with the shrink ray, but Pin skilfully dodges all her attacks.

In the chaos, Pencil accidentally hits Needle with the ray, which she acknowledges. Bomby then aims the shrink ray at both Pencil and Pin. Pencil pleads with him not to hit her and suggests he target Pin instead, but Bomby decides to use it on both of them. He successfully shrinks them down, realizing afterward that he’s the only one left unchanged. However, before he can celebrate, Pencil hits him with the ray, and he shrinks as well.

A chaotic battle erupts among the contestants as they use their shrink rays on the opposing teams. However, Tennis Ball pauses mid-fight and realizes that they are now at the atomic level. Coiny quickly takes advantage of the situation, learning from Tennis Ball that removing three protons from an atom creates gold, which is safe to touch. He instructs Pencil and Fries to remove three protons from each atom, and they comply, throwing the excess protons at the other contestants, poisoning them one by one.

Pencil, Coiny and Fries

Before long, Pin is the only contestant left unpoisoned. Desperate, she begs them not to poison her like the others, pleading for any alternative. Pencil, in a rare show of respect, shoots her with the shrink ray instead. With Pin now shrunken, Pencil, Coiny, and Fries waste no time and swim toward the birdhouse.

Marker watches the events unfold, commenting that The Hearts are mere seconds away from winning the challenge. Hearing this, Pin becomes enraged, electricity surging through her as she yells in frustration. Pencil nonchalantly agrees with her sentiment before stepping into the birdhouse, securing victory for her team.

Also, in the stinger, Pencil, Coiny, and Fries stand outside the birdhouse, eagerly anticipating what awaits them. However, once they step inside, they are met with disappointment: all they find is a large pile of chairs, a BFDI DDS, and a dirty mattress.

In "Respect to the Wicked", the BFDIA contestants are experimenting with atoms inside the birdhouse. Chaos ensues when Pencil's atom collides with Fries' atom, triggering a massive explosion. The resulting shock propels the golden drop of water they’re in onto the window of the Locker of Losers before it eventually finds its way into Balloony's eye.

Inside Balloony's eye, they proceed with Cake at Stake. Pencil, Coiny, and Fries are declared safe due to their victory in the previous challenge. As the process continues, Pillow inadvertently stirs up dust, causing it to enter Balloony's eye. When Balloony reflexively begins to close his eyes, the contestants quickly realize that they are only seconds from being crushed.

Pencil urgently directs everyone to swim in the opposite direction, but the effort proves futile. Tennis Ball attempts to construct reinforcements to keep the eyelid open, but his creation collapses almost immediately. The contestants are ultimately crushed as Balloony's eye closes, but are promptly recovered afterward.

The contestants reconvene to finish the Cake at Stake, where Pencil, Coiny, and Fries each receive a single grain of rice as their reward. Relishing their victory, they mock the other contestants by dramatically savoring their rice, taking exaggerated bites to rub it in. Tennis Ball, visibly annoyed, points out that their behavior is unnecessary.

After the elimination, the remaining contestants are transported to the plains. Pencil, upon realizing she has reached the final eight, proudly acknowledges that she has surpassed her personal record. Pin boasts about having beaten her previous record of 20th-place over a year ago but quickly deflates, admitting it wasn’t much of an accomplishment. Coiny attempts to cheer her up, and along with Pencil and Fries, congratulate her on her progress. However, their tone comes across as sarcastic, leaving Pin feeling more irritated than uplifted.

Pencil in BFDIA 16

As the contestants prepare for the next challenge, Coiny turns to Pencil and Fries, suggesting they stick together since they worked well as a team in the previous episode. They agree initially, but when Coiny proposes inviting Pin to join them, Pencil immediately changes her mind. She announces that she’s returning to FreeSmart, and calls all FreeSmart members to regroup. She then exchanges a celebratory high-five with Needle.

Hoping to restore the W.O.A.H. Bunch lineup, Coiny asks Needle to switch back to his team. Needle hesitates, but Pencil questions whether Needle would seriously consider leaving FreeSmart. Before Needle can respond, Coiny interjects, insisting that Needle has been a loyal W.O.A.H. Bunch member since the beginning. Tennis Ball chimes in, reminding them that Needle was actually on Team No-Name first, but his comment is ignored as the argument escalates.

Coiny declares that Needle clearly wants to switch teams. Pencil counters that Needle can speak for herself, before insisting Needle wants to stay with FreeSmart. Coiny pushes Needle to rejoin W.O.A.H. Bunch, and Needle, faced with the mounting pressure, ultimately declares that she’ll compete for both teams simultaneously. Coiny is thrilled to have "kind of" gotten the old "needy" back, but Needle promptly slaps him for using the nickname. Pencil asserts that only she can call Needle "needy," and Needle slaps her as well.

The wheel for the next contest lands on "scavenger tag," leaving the contestants puzzled about the challenge's premise. Balloony explains that the first step is to choose a prized possession to represent their team. Pencil and Book immediately begin praising the FreeSmart SuperVan, drawing Needle’s curiosity about their behavior. Pencil snaps back that any full FreeSmarter would understand, prompting Needle to join in the display.

Once all the teams have selected their trinkets, Balloony announces the next phase of the contest: hiding their chosen items in secret locations, ensuring they remain out of reach of the other teams. Pencil quickly realizes the FreeSmart SuperVan's enormous size makes it impossible to conceal effectively and asks if they can switch their trinket. However, Balloony inconveniently ignores her request, urging everyone to hide their items immediately.

The teams scatter in various directions to hide their trinkets. Once they’ve secured their hiding spots, they regroup, ready for the challenge. Pencil confidently tells Book that no one will ever find the FreeSmart SuperVan, and Book enthusiastically agrees, boasting about her ingenious hiding spot. However, mere moments later, the other contestants discover the van poorly hidden behind a tree.

Spotting their trinket in danger, Pencil quickly picks up the van and yells for Book to catch it. Book protests, warning her not to throw it, but Pencil tosses it anyway. The other contestants eagerly pursue the van, prompting Book to pull a tennis racket from her pages to send it back. This back-and-forth continues, with Pencil and Book frantically tossing the van to each other while the other teams close in.

Eventually, Book suggests driving the van away to put some distance between them and the others. Pencil agrees, and they both scramble into the van. Needle tries to join them, but Pencil stops her, wary of Needle potentially tagging them out as a W.O.A.H Bunch member. Undeterred, Needle pulls out a sticky note with a drawing of Pencil's eraser on it and sticks it to her head, declaring that this makes her a full FreeSmarter. Pencil corrects her, saying the sticky note only makes her a semi-FreeSmarter but begrudgingly allows her to come aboard. Needle hops in and the trio quickly drive off, leaving the others behind.

As they speed away, Book notices Pin and Coiny still hot on their trail. Pencil, gripping the wheel, realizes they can’t keep driving forever and suggests finding a new hiding spot for the van. Needle proposes they submerge the van, pointing out that Pin’s mech suit can’t handle water, which would make the van unreachable for her. Pencil approves of the idea and turns to Book, asking if she knows any nearby water sources.

Pencil, Book and Needle in the van

Book, after some thought, suggests the desert. Pencil frowns at the seemingly unhelpful answer, but Book elaborates that there’s a desert oasis with a massive lake which would make a perfect hiding spot. Intrigued, Pencil agrees it’s a solid plan and Needle asks Book about the distance. Book admits that it’s quite far—so far, in fact, that they’ll run out of gas before reaching it. Pencil’s enthusiasm falters at this revelation.

Sensing the disappointment, Book quickly adds that there’s a gas station along the way. If they stop there to refuel, they’d definitely make it to the oasis. Pencil, still cautious, asks if there are any other potential setbacks she should be aware of. Book assures her that there’s nothing else to worry about and confidently declares that they’re absolutely going to win. Pencil, reassured but slightly skeptical, continues driving toward their watery destination.

As Coiny and Pin persistently trail the van through the plains, the Evil Forest, and now a sprawling farm, tension grows inside the FreeSmart SuperVan. Book remarks that the journey reminds her of a road trip, sparking Pencil to suggest putting on some music. She flips on the radio, but the blaring, awful music makes her cringe, and she quickly switches it off. Instead, Pencil suggests that Needle should sing for them, and Needle agrees. She takes a breath to start, but the moment is interrupted when they approach a bifurcation in the road.

The split offers two distinct paths: one leading to the ominous Forest of Cutlery, the other to the idyllic Pleasant Peachy Paradise. Book asks which path they should take, and Pencil sarcastically comments on the obvious choice but neglects to keep her eyes on the road. Without steering toward either path, they barrel straight through the center—right into a field of towering corn.

Book warns Pencil to avoid the corn, and she frantically tries to swerve, but it’s no use. The stalks crash against the van, their thick leaves scraping the sides, and soon the windshield starts to crack under the pressure. With one final impact, the glass shatters completely, allowing a barrage of corn to tumble inside the van.

To make matters worse, Coiny and Pin catch up amidst the chaos. Spotting a nearby gas station, Pencil acts quickly, pulling over to refuel the van. Book repairs the windshield and cleans up the remaining mess, while Needle heads into the store to buy some snacks. With the tasks swiftly completed, they quickly speed off again, managing to stay just ahead of their relentless pursuers.

As the FreeSmart SuperVan barrels through the cornfield, Pencil grumbles about the monotonous setting and impatiently asks Book how much farther they are from the desert. Book glances ahead and hurriedly instructs her to make a sharp right. Pencil complies, and as if by magic, they instantly arrive at the sweltering desert.

Needle immediately complains about the oppressive heat, prompting Pencil to crank up the van’s air conditioning. However, the AC blasts an unexpectedly powerful gust, sending Needle tumbling out of the van alongside a cascade of corn. Book gasps in concern, but Pencil dismissively notes that the member-to-non-member ratio has just improved. With Needle gone, the van presses on toward the oasis.

FreeSmart in the desert.

"it's boiling out here!"

Upon reaching the shimmering lake at the center of the desert, Pencil tries to push the van into the water to hide it. However, the sheer size and weight of the vehicle make it impossible for her to move it alone. Frustrated, she calls out for Needle to assist, but Needle is no longer there. Book steps out of the van, reminding Pencil that she’s still here. Pencil, exasperated, laments that she really needs Needle for this task.

Just as she says this, Needle reappears, sprinting across the desert. Without hesitation, Needle pushes it into the lake, and as the vehicle begins to submerge, Book frantically points out that she’s still inside, but her warning comes too late as the van sinks deeper into the water.

Coiny and Pin arrive shortly after, demanding to know the van’s location. Amused, Pencil smugly refuses to reveal anything, but Needle quickly replaces her sticky note drawing of Pencil’s eraser with one depicting Pin before blurting out that the van is hidden in the lake. Coiny thanks Needle and dives into the water while Pin laughs, revealing that their own dirt cake was left far behind at the starting point. Frustrated, Pencil orders Needle to throw her. After swapping the sticky note again, Needle obliges, launching Pencil through various landscapes until she lands on top of a towering mound of dirt.

Pencil surveys the dirt pile suspiciously, suspecting it to be Tennis Ball's trinket in disguise, with the obelisk hidden beneath. Tennis Ball hesitantly denies it. Just then, Pin arrives with Needle in tow, with the latter announcing that the dirt cake is actually in the mini-fridge, sitting right at the top. Shocked, Pencil, Pin, and Tennis Ball all exclaim in unison, "Wait, seriously?"

Pin criticizes Needle, declaring her useless to the W.O.A.H. Bunch's cause, but Pencil defends the move, calling it a "pretty good sacrifice" and hinting that a promotion for Needle might be in order. Pencil instructs Needle to boost her, and Needle complies, throwing her partway up the dirt tower. Pencil begins climbing the rest of the way as Pin urges Needle to stop her.

In response, Needle swaps her sticky note again, sprints up the dirt tower and shoves Pencil back down, leaving her with a face full of dirt. Enraged, Pencil retracts her earlier praise, announcing that Needle's promotion is terminated. Pin starts climbing as well, demanding that Needle prevent Pencil from advancing. At the same time, Pencil shouts at Needle to make sure Pin doesn't reach the mini-fridge. Caught in the middle, Needle alternates between helping and hindering both contestants, switching her sticky note repeatedly to follow their instructions.

A chaotic cycle of alliances and betrayals unfolds as Pin and Pencil struggle for control of the trinket. Frustrated by the stalemate, Pencil realizes this approach isn’t working. Tennis Ball, seemingly oblivious to the tension, suggests she could help him instead, pointing out his Nickel detector, which he suspects might be broken. Ignoring his actual request, Pencil thanks Tennis Ball and snatches the device before proceeding to smash it repeatedly against the dirt hill.

The force of her actions causes the towering mound of dirt to collapse, clearing the way to the mini-fridge perched on top. Taking advantage of the sudden opening, Pencil sprints towards the mini-fridge and shakes it furiously until the dirt cake tumbles out.

Pencil and the mini-fridge

Just as she stretches out her hand to tag the cake, the FreeSmart van rockets out of a nearby hole, soaring through the air before plummeting toward the ground—directly above Pencil. Realizing she’s moments away from being crushed, Pencil stands in place, deciding to accept her fate instead of dodging. She closes her eyes, bracing for impact, however, Needle leaps into action, rushing to intercept the van. With swift determination, she cushions its fall, preventing the vehicle from crushing Pencil.

Book steps out of the van, realizing that she and Pencil have both been saved by Needle. Overjoyed, they cheer and celebrate, dancing around her in gratitude. However, their celebration is short-lived as Pin interrupts, pointing out a crucial detail: Needle is currently wearing the W.O.A.H. Bunch sticky note, meaning she was technically playing for their team when she intervened. By saving Pencil and Book, Needle inadvertently tagged FreeSmart out.

Needle protests, insisting it was an accident, but it’s too late. Balloony arrives and officially declares FreeSmart out of the game, meaning that they are now up for elimination. Pencil and Book’s cheers quickly turn to jeers as they boo Needle, mockingly dancing around her and berating her for failing them. Pin, seizing the moment, deliberately shoves Needle, causing her to lose grip on the FreeSmart van. With no one to catch it, the van topples and crashes down, crushing Pencil and Book under its weight.

In "Start the Shift", Pencil is recovered by Tennis Ball, with the former being visibly upset from the previous episode. She angrily turns to Pin and warns her that she’s in for "a world of hurt." Pin, unfazed, blows a raspberry at her, which causes Pencil to retch in disgust. Just then, Balloony arrives and tells Pencil to calm down, jokingly suggesting that she meant to say "a world of cake."

Pencil quickly retorts, calling Balloony annoying. Coiny, agreeing with her, adds that he’s getting sick of the LOLers hosting. The other contestants share their frustration and, in a collective decision, they decide to get rid of Balloony. The contestants quickly recover Spongy and fling him into the air. As Spongy plummets, Balloony attempts to dodge, but his efforts fail as Spongy lands directly on the fan, getting shredded in the process.

Realizing that the contestants no longer want him around, Balloony reluctantly calls for someone else to host before swiftly leaving with the other LOLers. The new host is revealed to be Firey, joined by the other eliminated contestants. Ruby and Ice Cube are thrilled to see Pencil, Book, and Needle, excitedly declaring it a FreeSmart reunion as the group of five shares a heartfelt hug.

The Cake at Stake begins, and this time, the cake is a birthday cake. Pencil finds the birthday cake delicious, but her enjoyment is short-lived when Rocky suddenly barfs on it, causing her to retch at the sight. As the Cake at Stake progresses, Pencil and Needle (FreeSmart) find themselves in the bottom two. Pencil, visibly upset, realizes that one of them will be eliminated. The two cling to each other, anxiously awaiting the slow reveal of the votes.

After the slow reveal of the votes, Pencil is ultimately eliminated with 20,411 votes. Pin mocks her predicament, which only upsets Pencil further. Refusing to accept her fate, Pencil quickly commands the FreeSmarters to activate the elimination prevention plan. Book and Needle spring into action, taping Pencil to the ground, adding various chains around her, and placing a shatterproof box on top of her. The box reads the words "Elimination Prevention Box."

Pencil in BFDIA 17

Book and Needle protect Pencil form getting eliminated.

Ruby climbs onto the box, questioning whether this means Pencil doesn’t want to host with the rest of the eliminated contestants. Hearing this, Pencil bursts out of the box with renewed enthusiasm, eager to begin her new role as a host. She excitedly asks what her first task will be. Ruby, however, tells her to calm down and reminds her that the contestants first need to focus on switching teams.

Afterwards, the next challenge is announced: contestants are tasked with "being their truest selves." They must restore their original appearances, as many of them have undergone significant changes throughout the competition. Pencil, along with the other eliminated contestants, returns to the Weak Trembling Fortress (WTF) to spectate, making sure not to interfere with the challenge. With the rules set, the contest officially begins.

Later, Ruby, Ice Cube, and Pencil are standing outside the WTF, while Book continues working on her challenge. They call her over to join them and hang out with the FreeSmarters. Book hesitates, explaining that she’s in the middle of the challenge, but Ruby's persistent pleading eventually convinces her to come over.

As Book joins the trio, Pencil looks toward Needle, who is also working through the contest. She spots a Leafy detector nearby and cunningly throws it in Needle's direction, hoping it will help her advance. Pencil then quickly turns her attention back to the FreeSmarters. Ice Cube asks Book where she was earlier, and Book casually mentions she needed a makeover, adding that there's a superstore nearby. But before she can finish explaining, Ice Cube, Pencil, and Ruby, all intrigued by the words "superstore" and "makeover," instantly dash off toward the store without any hesitation.

Subsequently, Pencil is in the superstore, watching as Book continues working on her challenge. Pencil encourages her to win it for their team, and Book confidently replies that she will, before heading off to complete her task. At the end of the episode, Ruby, Ice Cube, and Pencil leave the superstore, each carrying a variety of shopping bags. Pencil, reflecting on the day, admits that the trip was fun and comments that maybe living in the WTF won’t be so bad after all. Ruby, brimming with excitement, eagerly exclaims that she can't wait to show Pencil her room, proudly adding that it’s all set up and ready.

Pencil, puzzled, questions how there could possibly be rooms in the WTF, but Ruby, undeterred by the confusion, grabs Pencil’s hand and eagerly leads the way. As they head back home, Ruby enthusiastically explains her grand plans for a huge slumber party. She cheerfully adds that they’ll collect gumdrops, record a few video diaries, and fill the night with a variety of fun activities.

In "Airplanes in the Night Sky", Pencil and the other WTFers take turns hosting the next Cake at Stake. Afterwards, Ice Cube finally arrives and immediately suggests that they all leave. Pencil eagerly agrees, expressing how much she despises being in the WTF and how she’s been waiting for the chance to leave for what feels like forever. She urges everyone to leave, but Tennis Ball hesitates, questioning where they could possibly go to since the highway has been destroyed.

In response, Fries unveils the FriesMart ScooperVan. Pencil initially calls foul on it but hops inside anyway. As Pencil, most of the WTFers, and the BFDIA contestants step in, Golf Ball protests, insisting that the WTFers are eliminated and must stay in their designated place of punishment. Pencil, however, brushes off her objections, nonchalantly bidding her farewell. While Golf Ball continues complaining about the unfairness of the situation, Bomby, Nickel, Rocky, and Yellow Face agree to stay behind. Upon hearing this, Golf Ball considers defecting, prompting Pencil to hastily urge Fries to get moving before "Bozo Brainiac" (Golf Ball) changes her mind. Without wasting another second, the ScooperVan burrows underground, making their escape.

The group arrive at a new location, where the next challenge is introduced. Contetsants are tasked with lighting up the sky using their respective beacons. To achieve this, they must climb to the top of three satellite towers and activate them. The first contestant to have all three of their beacons lit simultaneously will win immunity.

As the challenge kicks off, the contestants race toward the towers, each determined to secure their safety while Pencil and the other WTFers watch from the sidelines. Later, Book accidentally switches off Tennis Ball's beacon. Frustrated, Tennis Ball reports the incident to the hosts, calling it cheating. However, Pencil points out that there was never a rule against turning off each other’s beacons. With this newfound loophole, the competition takes a chaotic turn as a fast-paced montage shows the contestants frantically running from tower to tower, flipping each other's levers on and off in an intense battle to keep their own beacons lit.

Amid the chaos, Needle dies, prompting Pencil to mourn her loss. Ice Cube, however, questions why she even cares, pointing out that Needle isn’t even a real FreeSmarter. Pencil fires back, arguing that Ice Cube is the one who isn't a FreeSmarter. Meanwhile, Firey and Gelatin recover Tennis Ball after he dies, but Pencil objects, claiming that reviving him interferes with the challenge. Gelatin asks who made that rule, to which Pencil replies that Golf Ball did. Ruby scoffs, asking since when they ever listened to that "bozo". Realizing Ruby has a point, Pencil decides to recover Needle instead. With that, Pencil, Ruby, and Ice Cube form a wheel and roll across the water toward the Recovery Center in Yoyleland.

In "Welcome Back", Pencil is preparing to eat her gumdrops but realizes that Ruby forgot to remove the Lens Cap from the camera. Shortly after, she realizes that all the video diaries are black screens and assumes viewers do not know who was eliminated in BFDIA 6. When Ruby pulls out the BFDIA 6 results, Pencil demands them but ends up falling down the Yoyle Needy.

Pencil and Book on their way to the recovery center

Book saves her life, and the two walk to recover Ice Cube, Ruby, and Bubble. They talk about Match, but Pencil complains about her being too needy. When they reach the recovery center, she types Ice Cube's name using her tongue to recover her.

Battle for BFDI[]

Pencil in Battle for BFDI

In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Pencil reunites with her alliance from Battle for Dream Island Again. After Match asks who keeps popping Bubble, Pencil helps Match find out. She asks Book to help, who refuses due to being an alternate. Pencil and the rest of FreeSmart's members walk over to Naily, to which Pencil asks if she popped Bubble. Naily says no, however Pencil thinks she's lying, and picks up Naily, possibly intending to harm her. However, she is stopped by Loser, who orders Pencil to apologize.

Later on, Pencil discusses with Match a new way to deal with their "enemies", being Lightning. Lightning first zapped Spongy, which succeeds and makes Spongy cry. While Pencil and Match celebrate, Bubble is worried that her alliance has changed slightly. Match then orders Lightning to zap Flower but is stopped by Bubble, who tells him to do what's right. This makes Lightning decline Match's request, flying off (later zapping Flower regardless). Match and Pencil and angry at Bubble, however instead of expelling her from the alliance, the latter demotes Bubble from member to "Bember". When Ruby asks her if she's still a member, Pencil sighs and says yes. Ruby screams in happiness.

When the teams are being created, Pencil forms iance, leaving out Book and Ice Cube, who found the alliance unhealthy and joined Gaty's team, Bleh. The team also consists of Pencil's alliance (Bubble, Match, Pencil. and Ruby), alongside Snowball, Fanny, Flower, and Lightning. In the first contest, she orders the team to jump and hope to reach the basket hundreds of feet in the air. After Fanny says she hates jumping, Pencil orders Lightning to zap her. When Bubble attempts to remind Lightning about what she told him, Pencil guilt trips Bubble by reminding her of the "Bember" status. Bubble then lets Lightning go, who painfully zaps Fanny. Bubble cries while Match and Pencil evilly grin.

Pencil is sucked into Four

In "Lick Your Way to Freedom", during Cake at Stake, Match tells Pencil that she's safe, and Pencil feels bad for Fanny since she assumed Fanny would be eliminated. However, X states that Fanny is safe. With 4,595 votes, Pencil is the first person voted off Battle for BFDI, placing 64th overall. In a panic, Pencil alerts Match to activate the Elimination Prevention Plan, but before any action is taken, Pencil gets sucked into Four.

In "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", Pencil is mistakenly present on the swings when Fanny was being used to propel the them. Her eraser can be seen above Lightning.

Pencil and liy

Pencil and Liy inside the EXIT

In "Enter the Exit", Pencil appears in the EXIT along with Leafy, Bracelety, and Liy. She is seen talking with Liy about when Four's coming back, and Pencil complains about all the math they have to do. Leafy then says it's not as bad as it seems, and reminds Pencil about the consequences. Pencil is unfazed, stating Four will likely screech them. Later on, Pencil complains about David, Roboty, Stapy, and Loser being in the EXIT, as she thinks it's an all-girl classroom. She is also given a chance to rejoin the show. Her audition shows her chanting for the voters to type an [A] since her alliance needs her.

In "Get to the Top in 500 Steps", Liy is talking to Pencil about how none of the EXITors ever opened the door behind Pencil's seat. After Liy hits Stapy, Pencil states that she never saw Four with a key before. During Cake at Stake, Four calls out Pencil, who is happy at first but is told that she does not rejoin with 3,712 votes. Four also states that she needs to stop drawing on her desk.

In "The Four is Lava", she appears in Ice Cube's happy thought, where she is burned.

5youdontyyy

In "The Escape From Four", Pencil was first listening to Loser reading Donut's Diary out loud, and suggests that he should lower down his voice because they can hear him. When 8-Ball said he can't hear Pencil, she grabs a stethoscope and said she wanted to listen to the "celebrity's juiciest secrets", thinking Loser was reading his own diary. Match shortly after wanted to hear too and grabs one of the parts of the stethoscope to hear him. After listening to the journal entries stated by Loser, she and Match were shocked and Match asked her when did Loser combine with Four, and replied she doesn't know, but screamed Donut's name as Loser said it was his last entry.

Pencil later appeared looking at Stapy who was struggling to pile up some things, and Pencil suggested that Loser should climb instead because he's smaller, and the plan worked. However, when Liy was asked to throw more things, she claimed that there's nothing else to throw, and came up with the idea to use Match and Pencil to lift Loser up since they're the tallest. Pencil replies with a bored sigh, but when she heard that they would get demoted to "bember", she climbed up immediately, not wanting to be demoted.

When Spongy was halfway sucked into Four's body, Pencil realizes Spongy just got eliminated, which grosses her out. When she heard that they should climb on him, Pencil disagrees and tells Liy she can't do that. She then says she's bailing and jumps off as Match follows, leaving Loser on his own.

In "X Marks the Spot", Pencil was mentioned. It was revealed by Ruby that Pencil gave her the FreeSmart SuperVan to look after before she got eliminated.

In "SOS (Save Our Show)", Pencil appears in a couple of flashbacks that weren't ever shown before. The first being a moment where she and Match talk to Eraser while the Announcer watches from the side. The second is when the Announcer appears at the top of the summit of Yoyle Mountain. Pencil asks what he's doing back, and the Announcer manages to avoid getting caught by pretending to be a tree.

In "Chapter Complete", Pencil and Bracelety appear as Four's finalists. She says that she has less appreciation for Ice Cube compared to Bracelety, but is sure that Four is better than her. She then tells some of the other contestants to chant Four's name. Suddenly, voices can be heard talking about Four coming back. Pencil asks if he left and where to. Later, Pencil is revealed to be the winner of Four's made up show and is given what looks like a glitched scribble as the prize. When Four starts to realize that none of this is real, Pencil sarcastically compliments him for figuring that out and slow claps. Four then snaps his fingers, making Pencil and the other imaginary characters disappear.

Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two[]

In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Pencil follows Liy and Stapy as they run back into the EXIT, asking what they're doing. Liy explains that she didn't get to look behind the door before Four caught her and boarded it up and that she will definitely see what's behind it this time. Pencil then watches as she pulls out a staple and uses it to unlock the door.

Pencil in TPOT 1

In "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", Pencil leaves the classroom with the other EXITors except Roboty, who Pencil says to leave behind when Four catches him. After walking down a hallway for a while, at the end they discover what appears to be a dimension themed entirely around Four.

In "Outbreak At Stake", Pencil discusses with the other exitors in the Fourest about where to go next with Pencil saying they should go back to the school. Stapy comes up with the idea to split up into groups, so Pencil breaks everyone into groups of three and tells them where to search. Pencil groups herself with David and Bracelety to search the classrooms. As they climb up a wall, David complains, and Bracelety interprets that he's upset they didn't save Roboty. Pencil says they can check on the classroom along the way. However, Four attacks them, so Pencil's group runs away to another room. Inside said room, is proof that other numbers exist.

In "Out Of The Blue", Pencil finds herself in the aforementioned room with David and Bracelety, feeling confused about their location. She starts to worry that there might be no way out. Bracelety approaches the door, ready to open it, but Pencil stops her, fearing that Four might be outside. Pencil suggests a diversion. When the door opens and Four appears, they throw David out as a distraction. After Four leaves, Pencil congratulates David and they continue down the hallway. Pencil says the others are searching for an exit, so they need to help. Bracelety starts counting the classrooms but is quickly told to shut up by Pencil.

A montage shows all the exitors trying to escape without success over the course of four years. Pencil, David, and Bracelety keep opening doors, but none lead to an exit. Annoyed with all the classrooms, they end up in the principal’s office, which also isn’t an escape. Pencil admits she doesn’t know what to do. Bracelety encourages her to keep going, but Pencil is losing hope after searching for four years.

Bracelety mentions Four’s mouth, giving Pencil the idea to escape through it. Four enters, announcing he deleted the stack, making Pencil yell in frustration. She decides to create a new one and uses the mic to tell the others to bring any random items that could help, thinking it may be their only way out.

As Bracelety is beating Four up, he pushes her off and Pencil asks if she's okay. After David knocks Four out, Pencil is relieved and heads off with Bracelety and David to find items for their stack. They enter the theater and notice a bunch of props on stage. Pencil thinks about using them for their stack.

Pencil in TPOT 11

Pencil checking to see if Bracelety's okay after four throws her off

Hearing screams from the others, she deduces that Four has found some of them. She quickly runs to the principal’s office, grabs the mic, and announces a show to distract Four. She runs back to the theatre and tells David to take down the set for their stack whilst she and Bracelety put on a performance for Four. At first they seem to be recreating the first scene from "Take the Plunge", but Bracelety goes off track and starts talking about Ice Cube. Pencil is annoyed by this, but then realises that it doesn’t matter as long Four is distracted.

Backstage, David gathers props from the set and stores them in the storage room. Pencil agrees it's a good idea and rushes back to the stage to announce the end of the show, suggesting they switch to a culinary class instead. Later, she's seen baking cupcakes in the kitchen with Bracelety and Four.

David tries to sneak out an oven but accidentally makes a loud noise hitting the wall. Four asks about the noise, and Pencil quickly initiates a food fight to distract him. Bracelety throws Four's own cupcake at him. When the timer ends, Pencil informs him that he failed the class because he didn't bake a cupcake. Four retaliates by blasting them both.

During swimming class, Pencil organizes a race to the end and back. Four takes the lead, so Pencil submerges him underwater long enough for Bracelety to surpass him. They struggle underwater, and Four eventually blasts her, but by the time they've emerged from the water, Bracelety already won. Later, Pencil praises Bracelety's painting over Four's, appreciating its soulful quality.

They continue attending classes until Four abruptly leaves upon receiving a vision from Liy about a potential escape. Bracelety suggests an Ice Cube-themed class next, and Pencil says as long as they don't study her ugly face. Remembering David's stack, they head to the storage room immediately. Pencil encourages her team and expresses excitement about finally escaping.

Upon arrival, they gather items swiftly and begin rebuilding. More join them, and Match and Pencil share a hug before Liy redirects their focus back to stacking. After Firey Jr., Dora and 8-Ball arrive, Firey Jr explains that they brought less because Four destroyed half their stack. Pencil doesn't believe him, however, thinking it's an excuse.

Once their stack is finished, Pencil and Liy realize it's slightly off for their escape, but Bracelety saves them using Roboty's plunger. They manage to escape, but just as Four prepares to send them back, Two steps in and instead hires them as chefs for the failed debuters. The exitors complain that it's not any better so they attempt another escape. Liy breaks the windows using Pencil's lead and the episode ends on a cliffhanger.

In "What's Up Bell's String?", the exitors are continuing to break the windows, and Pencil appears to be completely knocked out due to Liy using her lead to shatter the glass. At the end of the episode, she is given a chance to join TPOT. In her audition, she references her previous rejoining auditions; "Gardening Hero" and "Enter the Exit".

Pencil's debut audition

In "Category One", Pencil is holding onto a rope connected to the hotel, along with the other exitors. Two decides to let Four handle the hosting, and Pencil remarks that they can't just trade away all their problems. Later, she finds herself in the final three alongside Liy and Bracelety. Two reaches out and grabs them, bringing all three inside.

As Two is about to reveal the results, they notice the whiteboard says that two contestants with the most votes will join the game, not just one. Although puzzled by this, they brush it off before announcing that Pencil and Liy both join the game with 20,336 and 25,250 votes, respectively.

They are asked to choose which team they want to join, which frustrates Golf Ball. In response, Pencil casually pushes Golf Ball down the stairs. Two informs Pencil that since Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again and BaggedBagged already have seven members, she must choose between Team 2 and CloudYAY. Pencil asks if "Two" refers to them, and when Two says yes, Pencil immediately picks CloudYAY. Two asks if she's sure, and Pencil confirms before walking away.

Downstairs, Pencil notices Book and Ice Cube and immediately heads over to greet them. However, both are hesitant to engage due to their rocky past. Pencil is about to finish her sentence, but Two interrupts, redirecting her to her new team, CloudYAY. Pencil sarcastically comments on how "great" that is as Golf Ball glares at her.

Later, Pencil spots a swarm of bugs rapidly approaching, and she quickly shuts the door. As more wildlife start approaching the hotel, a new challenge commences: teams must prevent their respective creatures from entering the hotel, more specifically Two's room. Pencil asks if Two really thinks they can sleep through the storm, and the scene cuts to Two sound asleep, holding a jar of milk. Pencil slaps them awake, and Two reassures her they'll be fine because the milk always helps them sleep. Pillow, doubtful, drinks the milk and immediately falls asleep, prompting Pencil to slap her awake.

With the instructions clear, everyone rushes to the door, but Pencil gets there first. She blocks the exit, pushes Pen aside, throws Fanny away, and trips Tennis Ball. As Snowball charges toward her, Pencil swiftly throws both him and Grassy outside. Grassy suggests using the milk to put the fish monsters to sleep again, but Pencil overhears this locks the door to Two's bedroom, preventing them from coming through. Grassy and Snowball bang on the door until Snowball accidentally breaks it, tearing a hole in the process. Angered, Snowball demands to know why Pencil did that, but she dismisses him and leaves. Pencil charges toward Team 2, knocking them all aside as they fall down the stairs. She reaches out to grab Book, eagerly expressing how happy she is to see her. However, Ice Cube steps in, grabs Book, and walks away with her. As they leave, Price Tag casually calls Pencil a "newbie". Puzzled, Pencil pauses and questions who Price Tag is.

Pencil in TPOT 13

Pencil joins CloudYAY in the elevator, which takes them to the top floor. Upon arrival, Golf Ball immediately starts strategizing, but eventually gets into an argument with Donut. Pillow, having had enough, pushes both of them out of the elevator and closes the door. The rest of the group head back downstairs, and Yellow Face begins talking about drawing. Annoyed, Pencil tells him to shut up, adding that if she wanted to hear nonsense, she would’ve hung out with Dora instead. Winner tells her that she'll learn to understand him overtime before picking Pencil up and taking her to Yellow Face's ad dimension, where they use her to draw a rope. Pillow requests for some weapons, so Winner creates a flamethrower. Once the flamethrower is finished, Pillow aims it at Winner, engulfing them in flames. Pencil tries to blow out the flames but fails. Meanwhile, Yellow Face ties the rope to a log, and they all pile into the elevator.

At the top, Pillow is in the middle of a fight with a dragon, with the rope attached to her leg. However, the other end of the rope breaks. Winner warns Pillow about the situation, and everyone tries to pull her back, but the wind is too strong. They all get swept into the air and land on the dragon, enraging it. As they cling to the dragon, it accidentally bumps into a David, triggering an explosion. To make matters worse, a fish monster lands on them. Pencil, now frustrated, tells Team 2 that they should have agreed to her alliance before launching the fish monster into Two’s room, causing Team 2 to lose the challenge. The storm subsides, the contest ends and the dragon gently setting them down at ground level. CloudYAY emerges victorious and safe from elimination.

In "I SAID CAREFUL!!!", Book, Ice Cube, and Price Tag are tasked with clearing debris caused by the storm. As they work, a flyer lands on Ice Cube's face. Intrigued, she reads it, discovering it's an advertisement from Pencil, still determined to recruit Book and Ice Cube into her alliance. Moments later, Pencil emerges from the flyer, making another plea for them to join FreeSmart. Book and Ice Cube appear uneasy, so Price Tag, annoyed, kicks Pencil away.

As Book and Ice Cube continue their cleanup, Book spots a clubhouse in the distance, which resembles the old Clubhouse of Awesomeness. Curious but confused, they approach, wondering where it came from since it wasn’t there before. Suddenly, a pair of hands grab them and pull them inside. There, they find Pencil, who once again tries to persuade them to rejoin FreeSmart, claiming cross-team alliances are trending. However, before Pencil can finish, Price Tag arrives, pulls Book and Ice Cube out, and slams the door shut behind them.

Pencil in the new clubhouse

Later, as Book and Ice Cube polish the hotel windows, Pencil pulls up in the decrepit CloudYAY Mega Supervan. The vehicle emits unsettling noises and appears ready to collapse. Book comments on its poor condition, and Pencil speculates that Ruby must have stolen her old van. She adds that she couldn't afford a proper replacement since she spent all her money on the new clubhouse.

Stepping out, Pencil renews her pitch to Book and Ice Cube, but her frustration boils over, leading her to punch and kick the van in a tantrum. The van suddenly catches fire, and in a panic, Pencil kicks it into the hotel, triggering an explosion. Two, infuriated by the chaos, teleports all the contestants—along with the failed debuters—to an isolated location. They sternly instruct everyone to stay put while they clean up the destruction caused by the explosion.

There, the failed debuters decide to take charge and host the Cake at Stake, where safe contestants will receive a photograph of themselves as a prize. Grassy is declared the first one safe, and his photo is a blurry snapshot of him sticking his tongue out. Pencil, visibly disgusted, remarks to Ice Cube about Grassy's "ugly face." However, Ice Cube simply walks away, uninterested in Pencil's comments.

As the ceremony progresses, Ice Cube finds herself in the bottom two. Tension rises, but ultimately, she is declared safe. When her turn comes to receive a photo, Ice Cube intentionally makes an exaggerated "ugly face" for her picture, aiming to taunt Pencil. True to expectation, Pencil recoils in disgust upon seeing the photo. Ice Cube, pleased with the reaction, smiles to herself before confidently walking away.

Later, Eraser and Gaty are revealed to be eliminated, prompting their friends to mourn their departures. As the group processes the news, Book notices the missing posters of previously eliminated contestants and suggests taking precautions to protect Eraser and Gaty from any potential threats. This sparks a heated debate, with everyone vying to take responsibility for their safety.

Amid the chaos, Eraser is passed around like a prized possession. When Pencil gets hold of Eraser, she seizes the opportunity to show him off to Book and Ice Cube, claiming it as evidence of her responsibility and attempting to use it as leverage to convince them to rejoin her alliance. Despite the commotion and lack of agreement among the group, Eraser and Gaty remain unharmed, successfully avoiding any kidnappings.

Pencil in TPOT 14

"SEE, YOU TWO?! I'M RESPONSIBLE!"

For the challenge, teams must reach the summit of either the mountain or the volcano to claim a flag and secure immunity. While the other three teams choose the safer mountain route, CloudYAY opts for the more dangerous volcano path. To tackle the challenge, Pencil unveils the CloudYAY Mega Supervan and instructs everyone to climb aboard. Despite its visibly poor condition, Donut remarks that it seems good enough, and the group board the van.

As the van ascends the volcano, Donut grows concerned about its stability and voices his worries to Pencil. She dismisses his concerns, assuring him that everything will be fine. However, moments later, the van explodes, sending the team plummeting back to the starting point. Although the van is completely destroyed, the contestants emerge unharmed. Unfazed, Pencil brushes off the mishap and tells Donut to quit complaining.

Pillow decides to continue the climb on foot, quickly rushing ahead. Meanwhile, Golf Ball reveals that she has a backup plan. She pulls out a red box, presses a button, and watches as it unfolds into a construction table, accompanied by a chalkboard with details of a drill she’s been planning. Before she can explain her strategy further, the rest of the group follows Pillow up the volcano, completely ignoring Golf Ball, which leaves her frustrated.

As the group progresses, they come across a bridge. When Pencil tests it, the bridge proves to be wobbly and unstable. Donut suggests finding a different route, but before anyone can decide, Pillow pushes them all onto the bridge. With no other option, Pencil and Donut carefully cross, but Pillow, Winner, and Yellow Face begin shaking the bridge aggressively. An angry Pencil snaps at them to stop, but they ignore her and continue their antics. In the chaos, all five contestants lose their footing and fall into the lava below.

Winner, being the only one immune to lava, heads back to recover the fallen contestants, including Pencil. Golf Ball greets them upon their return, eager to update them on her plan, but the group, uninterested, quickly moves on and begins their ascent up the volcano again. When they reach the bridge, Winner tosses each contestant across to the other side safely before making their own way across.

They continue their climb but soon encounter a massive chasm, this time with no bridge in sight. Pencil picks up Winner, telling them to let her know how safe this is as she prepares to throw. However, before she can, a massive lava monster suddenly emerges from the molten depths, catching everyone off guard. Pillow grabs Pencil and throws her straight into the lava monster’s mouth, causing her to burn to death. However, Donut later recovers her.

Back at the starting point, Golf Ball’s drill is now complete. This time, the team decide to listen to her plan and climb inside the drill. Golf Ball proudly states that she knew they’d eventually realize she was right. Pencil presses the start button, and the drill begins to dig into the volcano. As it works, Pencil admits, though reluctantly, that the drill is "pretty great".

BFDITPOT 14 I SAID CAREFUL!!! (1095)

Donut soon begins to feel the intense heat inside the drill, crying out in pain. Pencil asks if they should end his suffering, and Pillow immediately agrees, rushing toward Donut. Winner stops her just in time, but before anyone can react further, Donut explodes, causing everyone to scream in horror.

In the chaos, Pencil, disoriented, starts pressing random buttons on the drill's control panel with her feet, causing the machine to veer wildly off track. Panic sets in as Pillow, Winner, and Yellow Face join in, pressing buttons in a frantic attempt to regain control. However, the desperate button mashing only makes the situation worse, and the drill spirals uncontrollably.

As everyone screams in terror, Pencil, now feeling the effects of the disaster, sarcastically tells Golf Ball that her drill is now "pretty bad". Golf Ball, still trying to keep things together, retorts that it wasn’t her fault that Pencil’s van was worthless and the two start rapidly slapping each other in frustration. During this, Pencil remarks that if she still had her old FreeSmart van, everything would’ve been fine. But the team soon realize that Donut was right all along—the temperature inside the drill was dangerously high. Before they can act, however, the drill makes contact with the molten lava inside the volcano, causing an eruption. Everyone except Winner succumbs to the searing heat, their bodies consumed by the lava. Winner, however, survives, immune to the deadly temperature.

After the chaos of the volcano challenge, Pencil and the rest of her team are recovered by Two. They quickly learn that the other contestants have formed an alliance against CloudYAY, which sets Pencil off into a fit of retaliation. In a swift, calculated move, Pencil kills Snowball, and then uses his face to finish off Marker. The brutal act upsets Tree, who slaps Pencil repeatedly in anger. This causes Black Hole to intervene, flinging Pencil away.

Ice Cube recovers Snowball, and Snowball kills Pillow using the recovery center. Not wasting any time, Pencil swiftly brings Pillow back to life, determined to stay on top of the conflict. She then turns to Snowball, mocking him with the declaration that he can’t stop her and that she could continue this all day. The situation takes a turn when a massive plant suddenly appears, wreaking havoc among the contestants. The plant swiftly kills Pencil in the midst of the chaos, ending her rampage.

Despite the turmoil, Winner manages to successfully claim the flag, securing immunity for CloudYAY. As a result, Pencil is safe from elimination, though her actions have undoubtedly escalated tensions within the competition.

In "Seasonal Shift", an enormous reality-threatening crack appears in the Goikian sky due to a group of failed TPOT debutants travelling to the past via Yoylite and inserting themselves into different timeframes. CloudYAY is first tasked to go back to May 1, 2010, to obtain Scissors. However, they arrive at an inopportune moment, with Scissors having just broken that timeline's Announcer and the contestants of that era about to punish them for doing so. Pillow makes the situation harder for CloudYAY by causing even more chaos: tossing contestants at one another and causing Scissors to break the bridge. Pillow then throws the rest of her team, and herself, into the broken bridge.

Winner gives Pillow the idea to rip Scissors into two, as dead debutants could be revived in the present. After reaching the top once more, Pillow throws the contestants of 2010 right down the gorge. Despite Golf Ball's protests that this could introduce anomalies within the timeline, Pencil brushes them off and returns back, Scissors' corpse in tow. CloudYAY is then tasked to go to September 10, 2020 to retrieve Boom Mic, while Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again are forced to clean up the anomalies left behind by CloudYAY - this being the first.

Upon her and her team's arrival, Pencil immediately takes notice to the narrow aspect ratio, opening it up to a full 16:9 but removing the instructions in the process. Immediately, the team is swarmed by the local contestants, with Pencil struggling against Glue. This time, Golf Ball warns Pencil to be aware of creating more anomalies. Pencil and Boom Mic scale the Eiffel Tower, and uses Rose and Yellow Face's squishiness to knock Boom Mic down, killing her and dropping the instructions down to the ground. Yellow Face fixes the anomalies, and CloudYAY returns to the present with Boom Mic's corpse.

Seasonal Shift (1903)

The FreeSmart SuperBrawl.

CloudYAY is asked to go to July 24, 2020, to retrieve Discy. Upon arrival, CloudYAY bears witness to Discy stealing Four's diary, Blocky's arrival, and the arrival of Season One winner... Income Tax Return Document? (In reality an anomaly due to replacing Firey all the way back in Total Firey Island). CloudYAY begins to chase Discy, but the team halted in their tracks by Four himself, who sends the team, and the remaining BFB contestants at the time, to the Courtroom, for it is time for the first-ever BFB court case. CloudYAY, who have bigger fish to fry, escape the courtroom, but Four sends all the remaining BFB contestants to deal with the team. Discy hijacks the SuperVan, but CloudYAY is quick to latch on.

That timeline's Ruby (who is in reality, an anomaly) demands CloudYAY give her back the van, but Pencil retorts, saying that she was the one who stole it from her. Immediately afterward, she brings her teammates up to the roof, where they and the post-split BFB contestants begin to fight; amidst the commotion, Pillow bites Gelatin in half, introducing another anomaly. Income Tax Return Document begins to fight Pillow for killing Gelatin, but Winner picks him up, and the SuperVan crashes into Yellow Face's warehouse. The fight continues into the warehouse, with even more anomalies being created in the process: Donut tips over a shelf that kills Taco, and Pillow uses Discy to slice Blocky and Woody in half. Golf Ball orders the team to be more careful, but Pencil, in her hunger for immunity, disregards it and returns back, with Discy in tow. Meanwhile, Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again head there to clean up CloudYAY's anomalies once more.

Black Hole orders CloudYAY to be more careful - a statement Golf Ball tried to tell the team, but the team's hasty methods are causing many an anomaly to be created. However, Pencil, adamant she will not lose again, snaps at Golf Ball, telling her she has no idea what it would be like to be stuck in the EXIT for six years. Having held years of trauma, Pencil tells her that not only was her only chance to be a good leader during her and her fellow EXITors' escape usurped by Roboty, her friends are now all gone, and Book and Ice Cube want to distance themselves from her. Fearing elimination, she declares that she can't go back to the EXIT.

Seasonal Shift (2026)

I can't... go back there.

Pencil resolves to use the yoylite to change the past enough so she can be saved, but the others attempt to play a very expensive game of keep-away from her. The yoylite, however, lands right on top of Golf Ball's head, sending all of CloudYAY away to January 1, 2012, the season one finale. Firey had just won Dream Island, and is about to let everyone else but Leafy in due to being mean.

Golf Ball berates Pencil, telling her that joining the team was a "mistake." However, Pencil slaps her, insistent that CloudYAY will be saved eventually (in reality, they can't, as One had drained the other teams' yoylite of its powers). Tensions within the team reach their boiling points: with Yellow Face barred from seeing Dream Island, Pencil is instead adamant that she would see it (given it was sold and thus she was disallowed in canon), but Pillow intercepts and attempts to stop her. They take their fight right into the bridge to the entrance of Dream Island, knocking Leafy's phone off her hand before she could sell the island to the Announcer.

A stunned 2012 Leafy briefly takes the front-row seat for the CloudYAY commotion, but 2012 Firey lets her in, irreversibly breaking the canon and trapping the team in 2012. However, Gaty, out of fear the reality would shatter completely, makes a deal with One, fixing the timeline. With CloudYAY and joint-tied for first, they are both safe from elimination. Pencil's insistence to be immune may ring true - but everyone else, including the rest of CloudYAY, are all mad at her.

In "The Power of Four", Pencil sits alone in the Clubhouse of Awesomeness until a sudden knock interrupts her solitude. When she opens the door, she finds Yellow Face standing there, asking if she wants to give her property to him. Annoyed, Pencil cuts him off mid-sentence by slamming the door in his face. Later, during Cake at Stake, Pencil watches as Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again’s elimination unfolds. When she sees Fanny declared safe, she starts to panic. Donut, noticing her distress, asks if she’s okay, but she doesn't respond.

As the next challenge is announced, teams are given ten minutes to find a hiding place. If any member is found and tagged by either Four or X, they will be at risk of elimination. The two teams with the most tagged members will be up for voting. With that, the challenge begins. Wasting no time, Pencil throws Grassy and Price Tag at Four, declaring them “tagged” and out of the challenge. Price Tag reminds her that the hiding timer isn’t even over yet and demands to know why she did that. Pencil coldly replies that Price Tag was getting in the way of her alliance. She adds that if Book doesn’t agree to team up with her, she’ll make all of Team 2 lose, just like she did in "Category One".

Hearing this, Pen realizes that Pencil was responsible for Eraser’s elimination. Furious, he confronts her, but Pencil brushes him off, refocusing on her own team. She declares that they’ve found the perfect hiding spot and promptly kicks them away to clear the area. However, her plan backfires when Pillow collides into her, injuring her in the process. Irritated, Pencil demands to know what’s wrong with Pillow, only for Pillow to reveal Liy’s corpse and bluntly state that she isn’t interested in working with her.

Pencil in TPOT 16

Frustrated, Pencil mutters that Pillow is dead weight before turning to the rest of her team, directing them toward the elevator. However, before the doors can close, Fanny quickly sticks her leg inside, stopping them, and steps into the elevator with CloudYAY. Pencil rolls her eyes but allows Fanny inside and presses the button again. However, before the doors can fully close, Fanny deliberately sticks her leg in between them once more. Pencil angrily demands that she stops, but Fanny refuses. Having had enough, Pencil finally snaps, and a fight breaks out, shaking the elevator violently as their struggle intensifies.

The fight rages on as the elevator erratically speeds between floors, shaking uncontrollably. After a chaotic ascent, it suddenly lurches to a stop at the top floor. For a brief moment, everything is still—until the lift abruptly plummets downward, crashing onto the first floor and forcefully ejecting everyone inside. Fanny lands directly in Four’s path and is immediately tagged, eliminating her from the challenge. Meanwhile, Pencil and the rest of CloudYAY manage to slip away before Four can catch them.

The group races to the roof, but Four swiftly follows, closing in on them within seconds. With nowhere left to run, they find themselves trapped. Thinking fast, Pencil abruptly acknowledges Yellow Face’s nonexistent suggestion before shoving him off the roof. He lands squarely on the ground below, and without hesitation, Pencil pushes the entire team after him, using his body to break their falls and prevent their deaths. However, the impact leaves Yellow Face’s limbs severely injured.

Donut turns to Pencil in disbelief, but she dismisses his concern, unfazed by the consequences as long as the plan worked. Just then, X approaches, but before he can react, Pencil hurls Yellow Face straight at him. Four swiftly tags Yellow Face, eliminating him from the challenge as well. Wasting no time, Pencil urges the rest of the team to move and leads them to the ruins of Gelatin’s Steakhouse, frantically searching for a place to hide.

As Pencil searches for a hiding spot, Donut confronts her, insisting that she can’t treat teammates as expendable. However, Pencil waves off his concerns and orders everyone to take cover under the rubble. Nearby, Tape—still stuck to the wall—greets them and asks if any of them would be willing to help them down. Pencil approaches with a smile and partially peels the tape from the wall. But instead of freeing Tape, she abruptly slaps a strip over their mouth, silencing them before walking off.

With that, the group hide under the rubble. However, their hiding place is soon compromised when Tree crashes onto the rubble, drawing Four’s attention. As Four rapidly advances, Winner is suddenly flung at him, momentarily knocking him back. Pencil thanks Winner for the "sacrifice" before grabbing Donut and Golf Ball and bolting from the scene.

The three of them make a break for the FreeSmart SuperVan, and as Pencil speeds off, Donut questions the logic of her strategy. Pencil coolly explains that he’s clearly less expendable than the others, and if he proves himself useful, she might allow him into her new alliance. Golf Ball, realizing Donut was right all along, admits that she once prioritized winning above all else, but the last challenge made her see the importance of teamwork. Pencil, unimpressed, dismisses her by mockingly pointing out that repeating her words won’t make her listen, leaving Golf Ball increasingly frustrated.

Donut, Golf Ball and Pencil

"Repeating words in your sentence won't make me listen to you."

Pencil glances out the window and sees Four rapidly closing in. Thinking fast, she apologizes to Donut before declaring that they need to buy some time. Golf Ball immediately protests, but Pencil insists that they're the true heart and soul of the team, so if they survive, they can still win. Golf Ball argues that they can’t afford to lose another teammate and points out that Pencil has done nothing but sabotage them throughout the entire challenge. Pencil dismisses the accusation, claiming that without her, they all would’ve been tagged by now. She then adds that there was a reason she threw out those other “losers” and not Donut or Golf Ball.

Before Golf Ball can respond, Donut urgently warns Pencil to focus on the road. Pencil barely manages to swerve, narrowly avoiding Marker and Tree, but she accidentally crashes into a tree instead. From the treetop, Snowball is dislodged and lands on the windshield. Irritated, Pencil insults him, calling him a "big, ugly bug" that’s now blocking her view.

Without hesitation, she flicks on the windshield wipers, which begin forcefully smearing Snowball across the glass. His form rapidly shrinks under the pressure until he completely disappears, killing him. With Snowball gone, Pencil regains visibility—only to realize Four is now standing directly in front of the van. Panic surges through her as she yanks the steering wheel, sending the van into a sharp turn while Four gives chase. Desperation creeping into her voice, Pencil insists that they need to do something fast.

Pencil hastily throws Donut out of the van as a distraction, but when Four throws blue paint at him, it instead splatters onto the back of the van. Golf Ball quickly pulls Donut back inside, but Pencil only complains about the mess. Frustrated, Donut finally snaps, calling out Pencil for only caring about herself. When she dismisses him, he insists that she can’t keep treating her teammates like they don’t matter, because they are a team.

Pencil defends herself, saying she’s been the one doing all the work, but Donut argues that she isn’t always right, and winning doesn’t justify hurting others. Golf Ball agrees, reminding Pencil that every teammate matters and she can’t just discard them. Pencil questions why she should care when no one cares about her. Donut counters that this isn’t true and he even checked on her earlier. Pencil falls silent, and the three sit in uneasy quiet.

As Pencil drives, she spots Pen standing firmly in front of the van. She questions his actions and warns him that she’s going to hit him, but quickly shifts the blame onto him if it happens. Donut urges her to stop, but Pencil dismisses his concerns, arguing that Pen isn’t even on their team. Donut protests once more, so Pencil finally relents. She swerves, causing the van to get into a rollover. It hits Pen's cap and skids on its side.

Scrambling out, Pencil sees Four rapidly approaching and panics, determined not to get tagged. Just as Four is about to strike, Pen unexpectedly intervenes. Not to sabotage CloudYAY, but to hurl the van in the opposite direction, creating space between Pencil and Four. Afterwards, Pencil urges Golf Ball and Donut to find a hiding spot, but before they can move, X tags all three of them, eliminating them just as the challenge ends.

Pencil after getting tagged

With the challenge over, CloudYAY is the only team put up for elimination, and due to their complete defeat, they must lose two members instead of one. Upon hearing this, Pencil experiences a second panic attack, but Donut reassures her, telling her that it’s going to be okay.

In "Bottle For Dream Island", Pencil is visibly anxious during the Cake at Stake ceremony, with Donut trying to comfort her. Bottle hosts the ceremony but takes a while to announce the results, prompting Pencil to rush her. Bottle reveals that Pencil is has gotten the most votes, with a record-breaking 71,817. X pops out to celebrate, excited that she broke the all-time vote record, just like he did the last time Pencil was eliminated in "Lick Your Way to Freedom". Thinking the system is still vote to eliminate, Pencil panics and tells Golf Ball to activate the Elimination Prevention Plan. Seeing this, Donut clarifies that it’s vote to save, which calms her down.

Bottle gives Pencil a drawing as a prize, but Pencil crumples it and tosses it away in annoyance, upsetting Bottle. Donut notices and glares at her. Golf Ball is then announced safe, and she reassures Pencil that there is nothing to worry about. However, Pencil lifts her up and bitterly reminds her that she wasn’t the one that was wandering around lost for years. Donut steps in, and Golf Ball asks to be let go. Pencil drops her and walks off to stand alone at the edge of the hotel, and quickly leaves once the ceremony ends.

For the challenge, Pencil, Book, Fanny, and Tennis Ball compete in a fourse-riding contest to earn points by staying on as long as possible. When the Fourse trips over a token, Tennis Ball falls off, and the Fourse becomes enraged by a note implying dead horses are good luck, with Pencil blaming Tennis Ball. As the remaining contestants struggle to hold on, Fanny tells Book and Pencil to give up. Pencil responds that she won't risk losing another challenge, which causes Book to lash out at Pencil, accusing her of being selfish and refusing to change. Pencil tries to rekindle their old alliance, but Book rejects her, saying she hates her and no longer feels listened to. Fanny comments that it sounds a lot harsher when someone else says it. Pencil angrily kicks Fanny off before continuing trying to reason with Book, explaining that all her other friends are gone and Book is all she has left. Book explains that Pencil only wants the alliance for strategic gain, not genuine friendship. Upon hearing this, Pencil throws Book off the Fourse and walks away alone.

Pencil walks toward the Clubhouse of Awesomeness, muttering to herself that she never needed Book anyway and that FreeSmart means nothing to her. She enters the clubhouse and sits alone in silence with a sad expression until Pen arrives. Sitting beside her, Pen opens up about how difficult it was to lose Eraser and Blocky, but shares that watching one of Blocky’s videos helped him during the challenge and reminded him that he now has new friends who are just as important. He tells Pencil that her time with FreeSmart mattered too, because it helped shape the things she's learned and the things she's going to do. After sharing his thoughts, he leaves quietly. Pencil doesn’t respond, and Pen glances back at her with a sad expression before leaving.

Left alone, Pencil lets out a sigh—suggesting that she listened and might consider his words.

Trivia[]

Comparisons[]

Competition[]

BFDI[]

  • In Total Firey Island, Pencil won the competition, making her the first character to win an object competition.
  • Pencil has $100,000 for winning in Total Firey Island
  • Pencil spent the most time on the Squishy Cherries, due to her being picked first and lasting until the teams were removed.
  • Pencil's elimination in BFDI is considered unique:
    • She was inappropriate for elimination, as she won the previous challenge; She was put up for elimination because her points exceeded the two-digit limit (105 -> 5), resetting back to the first few numbers.
  • Pencil was the last contestant to be eliminated before the point system was removed.
  • Pencil holds the record for going the longest time in season 1 without getting any votes, at 1 year and 3 months, or 15 episodes.
    • However, on April 1st, 2011, Englishcreamcakes cast the first ever vote for Pencil. She got 37 other votes as well for episode 17.
      • Ironically, she was the first contestant to receive the most votes in BFB.

BFDIA[]

  • Pencil came in 11th place out of the original contestants in Season 2 voting.
  • Due to Pencil teaming up with Coiny on The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute, Leafy is now the only original season 1 contestant that Pencil has never been on the same team with.
  • Out of the original four members of FreeSmart, Pencil is the only one who never won a prize.
  • In "Respect to the Wicked", Pencil has officially surpassed her rank in BFDI by placing higher than 9th place.
  • In release date order, Pencil is the first contestant to be eliminated in 2025.
  • Pencil was originally going to be inside of the Locker of Losers in IDFB, but the idea was dropped and Pencil was one of the objects that were free in Yoyle City. Gelatin has a similar fate.[3]

BFB[]

  • She has the least amount of votes to be eliminated in BFB, at only 4,595 votes. This is slightly lower than 8-Ball, who got 4,814 elimination votes.
  • Pencil was the first contestant eliminated in Battle for BFDI.
    • This makes her the lowest ranking female, contestant with all limbs, contestant competing in BFDI and BFDIA, free character in IDFB, contestant voiced by Michael Huang, and member of iance.
  • BFB is the first and currently only season to have Pencil outranked by Match.
  • Pencil and David are the only contestants with rejoin auditions in both BFDI and BFB.
  • Pencil and Match are the only original BFDI contestants in the EXIT.
  • She's the only contestant in BFB who never used their voting icon for voting.
  • She is the lowest ranking contestant from BFB to compete in TPOT.

TPOT[]

  • Pencil, Pin, Coiny, Ice Cube, Rocky, Tennis Ball, Golf Ball and Needle are the only characters who've been in every season of BFDI.
  • Pencil is the second first boot to rejoin, the first being Flower.
  • Pencil is one of the four original Squishy Cherries in TPOT, the others are Pen, Eraser, and Pin.
  • Because of Pencil joining in "Category One", TPOT marks the first time where she competes in a season without Match (not counting IDFB, as that isn't a competition season).
  • Pencil is the third person to join TPOT late, the second being Liy and the first being Teardrop.
  • CloudYAY is the first team Pencil has competed on without any of her alliance members.
  • Due to joining the same team as Donut; Pencil is now one of the few contestants who've been on the same team with every BFDIA contestant at least once, along with Bomby, Spongy, Needle, Golf Ball, and Yellow Face.
  • Unless Pencil reaches the finale of TPOT, she will be the only contestant in the series to be eliminated in every single competitive season by viewer vote.
    • Just by merely joining into TPOT in "Category One", no matter where Pencil places, it will be significantly better than her ranking of 64th/65th in BFB.
      • This makes BFB the only season where Pencil ranked worse than in a previous season.
  • With Liy being up for elimination in "I SAID CAREFUL!!!", Pencil has gone the longest in TPOT without being up for voting.
  • Pencil is the fifth female contestant to get the most votes to stay in TPOT, after Pin, Pillow, Book, and Golf Ball.
  • As of "Bottle for Dream Island" Pencil holds the record for the most votes to stay in a single TPOT episode at 71,817, beating Black Hole's former record of 42,184 in the previous episode.
    • This fact was even said by X, referencing her elimination in "Lick Your Way to Freedom".
    • This is also the new record for most votes that a contestant received at their first Cake at Stake with votes to stay, surpassing Grassy's former record of 26,669 votes.

  • Pencil spent the most time in the EXIT, with over six years. 6 years, 6 months, and 28 days to be exact, which is almost 7 years.
    • This has very likely affected her psychologically, as she has shown various signs of mental instability since her return to the outside world in "What's Up Bell's String?".
  • An early version of Pencil's asset can be seen in XFOHV.
  • Pencil once appeared in Nickelodeon Pakistan's Nick Genius Promo of 2023, using the animation of her saying "You'll pay for that, Donut." from "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know".[4]
    • This makes her the second known BFDI character to appear on live TV, with the first being Marker (who appeared on a BBC news broadcast as a plush).

  • According to Meaty, the metal lining of her eraser is a headband.
    • And in "Lots of Mud", Pencil's metal lining can be removed along with her hair (eraser).
  • Pencil is the 2nd non-contestant/host to start the TPOT intro, with the 1st being Four but after joining she’s the fifth contestant to start the TPOT intro.
  • Pencil can draw and write very small, as shown in "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?" where there's a scene whereas Pencil creates an "infinite doodle."
  • In "Insectophobe's Nightmare", when Pencil saw Ice Cube fall down the cliff from the Ice-Cube Recovery Center from Blocky's prank in the previous episode, she said that Ice Cube is shrinking, only for Match to correct her and with her saying that's she actually falling.
    • Although, something notable is that before the whole ordeal, Pencil was reading the "How To Be Dumb" book before she went over Ice Cube, implying that the book did work on Pencil for a moment as it made her think that shrinking and falling were the same thing.
  • Pencil is implied to have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD. This is reflected by her snapping in “Seasonal Shift” and her reaction to Four being the host in “The Power of Four”. In the same episode, she looks absolutely distraught when she is put up for elimination twice.
    • Additionally, Pencil is shown to have tetraphobia.
    • She could also have numerophobia/arithmophobia to an extent.
  • Pencil is among the few characters to have their IQ score revealed, being in Comic 12 of School Planner. Pencil has an IQ of 130, making her of greatly advanced intelligence.
  • Technically speaking, Pencil should never have joined TPOT because she didn't get enough votes. However, this happened because One sneakily changed the number of contestants joining from one to two. For now, we don't know the reasons for it or what it will result in in the future. However, it is possible that One will use Pencil to her advantage.
