— Pin, "Bridge Crossing"
|
Pin is a female contestant in Battle for Dream Island, Battle for Dream Island Again, IDFB, Battle for BFDI, and Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.
In Battle for Dream Island, Pin competed on the Squishy Cherries and was the team captain until her elimination in "Power of Three" with 5 votes, placing 20th.
In Battle for Dream Island Again, Pin joined the season with 405 votes, being placed 11th to join the season. Pin competed on W.O.A.H. Bunch until "Taste the Sweetness", when she switched to The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute. However, in "Lots of Mud", she switched back to W.O.A.H. Bunch until "PointyPointyPointy ♫", when she temporarily teamed up in a duo with Coiny, and then was force-switched to The Stars in "Spore Day". Pin swapped back to W.O.A.H. Bunch in "Respect to the Wicked" until its disbandment in "Airplanes in the Night Sky". Pin was eliminated in "I'm the Main Character" with 45,806 dislikes, placing 5th overall.
In IDFB, Pin is currently free due to not being eliminated before "Intruder Alert".
In Battle for BFDI, Pin competed on The Losers! until the split in "The Escape from Four", where she left the show to compete on Two's show.
In Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two, Pin competed on Team8s until the team swap in "What's Up Bell's String?", where she was instead put on Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again by One. She was eliminated in "The Power of Four" with 13,455 votes, placing 21st overall.
Appearance[]
Pin appears to be a standard plastic pushpin, with a red body and a gray point.
In early BFDI, Pin's point is blunt like her personality, compared to later versions in BFDI 14 onwards, where it is sharper. For most of the series, Pin's body is crimson red, and her point is gray.
Throughout various episodes of BFDIA, Pin loses her limbs, face, and gets shrunk down to approximately 1/4 to 1/5 of her original size After "PointyPointyPointy ♫", Pin's face and size were restored while she was equipped with an advanced State-of-the-Art Mech Suit that took the place of her lost limbs for the majourity of the season until she lost them again in I'm the Main Characterwhile she fell and dying in the lava. Woody has the mech suit now but in BFDIA 23: Shattered! Woody fell and possibly died and is unknown what happens to the mech suit. In same episode: Tennis Ball put cutlery in the place where her limbs used to be, and now she has fork and knife arms and legs until 2016.
In IDFB, she regains normal limbs again and her body is white because Golf Ball took her coloration and turned it into limbs. She became red again in BFB, possibly because of Roboty's coloration.

Designs[]
Personality[]
BFDI[]
Pin was confident, and fierce, considering herself to be a heroic team leader, taking advantage of her position as the leader of her team. Additionally, Pin shows no care or concern for her teammates, and is willing to sacrifice and sabotage them if they become a liability to her. She sees herself better than others and doesn't seem to comprehend her mean-spiritedness. Due to her hostility, most contestants either ignore her or express disgust at her expense, with her only known positive relationship being Leafy prior to the latter stealing Dream Island.
BFDIA[]
In pre-revival and early post-revival, Pin's character is defined by her resourcefulness and determination, but also by her limitations, like her lack of limbs. She cares a lot about her friends, especially Coiny, and is always trying to help her team, even if she can't do everything herself. Even though she sometimes feels frustrated about not being able to do certain tasks, she still supports her team and tries her best.
After regaining her face and size, Pin comes off as strong-willed, determined, but often vengeful. While she's capable of loyalty and appreciation, mainly towards Coiny, she's vocal about her frustrations towards those who disrespect her, best demonstrated in her speech to FreeSmart in "PointyPointyPointy ♫", where in which she expressed her anger for her body parts being removed and not being allowed to swing with Ice Cube, before proceeding to put Ruby and Book up for elimination. Pin's increasing temper issues and competitiveness culminate in "Airplanes in the Night Sky", where she chooses to sabotage Book and win rather than help Coiny. "🥚" shows that crossing this line has led Pin to become sadistic, violent, and cruel. She is both physically and verbally aggressive to her fellow contestants, and has regained her old arrogance, being dissonantly cheerful and manic throughout. In "Launch Party", Pin acknowledges that she is the most hated contestant on the show while arguing with Coiny, hinting that she does feel guilt about her actions but has to behave competitively and aggressively to avoid elimination.
However, in “I’m the Main Character”, Pin starts to change her ways after hearing Woody scream for help. Pin realizes that she focused so much time prioritizing herself, and as a response to that, she saves Woody selflessly. Although this development goes back in “Shattered”, where Pin retained more of her ruder self, calling herself a “horrible person”.
IDFB[]
Pin becomes very friendly, as she wanted to be friends with Fries, despite the fact he was busy gardening at that time. She is even on great terms with Golf Ball and Tennis Ball, both being characters she was enemies within BFDI. She was however somewhat self-centered, as at the end of "Welcome Back", when the characters were deciding who to teleport out of the Locker of Losers first, she piped up and suggested they take Roboty out, as his pigment could be used to recolor her.
BFB[]
Pin shows concern for the well-being of her team and wants everyone on The Losers! to be independent. She also motivates her team, frequently encouraging them to be strong in times of difficulty. While occasionally a bit snarky, more often than not, she is kind and rational. Pin appears to overthink a lot, seems and sometimes struggles to confront certain tasks. She has a heart-to-heart talk with Coiny about her concern over everyone becoming too dependent on Loser and being unsure when she is tasked with bringing Four back. In "Don't Dig Straight Down" Pin is shown to be caring, by helping Book with apologizing to her friends, empathizing with her about patching things up with people after having wronged them.
TPOT[]
Pin seems to have developed a sense of self-righteousness and integrity in TPOT. She's quick to point out ideas she thinks are impractical or risky, like in "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", when she accuses her team of cheating by using glue to hold their blocks together. Despite this, she cares deeply for her team and always tries her best, even in tough situations. She experiences fear and emotional struggle, especially when losing people like Coiny, but learns to use her emotions to fight off the zombies in "Outbreak at Stake".
Pin also has a strong sense of responsibility, as seen when she leads her new team in "What's Up Bell's String?". However, she also shows some vulnerability, like when she worries about her leadership possibly being resented by her teammates. Her final moments before her elimination in "The Power of Four" are a mix of disappointment and gratitude, especially when she decides to give Tree her Yellow Token to thank him for being there for her when they all thought the world was about to end in "Seasonal Shift", which meant a lot to her.
Official Character Guide biography[]
Pin has a history of being bossy and making mistakes that aggravate people. One of those mistakes was stealing people's loaves of bread in a failed attempt to rejoin the game. When she figured out that no one liked her, she tried to make friends by motivating them to win challenges.
Still, she often feels isolated and once mentioned that Teardrop was the only person who didn't say she hated her.
Did You Know?: Pin's sweat changes color to reflect her current emotion, like a mood ring.
Abilities[]
Strengths[]
- Point: Pin can use her point to stab and pierce certain things, such as the finish line ribbon in "Take the Plunge: Part 2". In "Airplanes in the Night Sky", Pins' new drill point is able to activate at her will and drill through things, such as Book.
- Superhuman strength: In "Zeeky Boogy Doog", Pin is able to shake the Eiffel Tower with ease, despite the tower being large and heavy, and in "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", she was able to throw Callisto, one of Jupiter's moons, at Coiny with relative ease.
- Dexterous tongue: In "Well Rested", given her lack of limbs, Pin used her tongue to press the volume-up button on Ice Cube's Revolutionary Headphones.
- Master-level pâtissière: Pin has been shown to be a masterfully skilled baker and cake decorator. She was given the highest score in "Sweet Tooth" for her Flower-replica cake. In "Enter the Exit", Pin was chosen by X to create the cake for Cake at Stake, which ended up being an embroidered strawberry cake, and was chosen again by Coiny to form Four's remains in order for them to be revived. She received much praise from her cakes.
- Sixth sense: In "Lots of Mud", Despite having no limbs or facial features, Pin was able to subconsciously know where the key was placed and knew which doors would lead to certain death. She was also able to communicate to Coiny on which door had the key to unlock one of Flower's Petals through sweating her ooze on the doors that did not have it and not sweating on the door that held the key. Although this can be proven wrong since Pin was in the punishment room during Fries and Golf Ball's deaths, so she knew where the key was due to still being able to hear.
- Speed sweat: In "Lots of Mud", Pin was able to sweat extremely fast on Coiny's beat which is swift on Door 2 of the Punishment Room and follow along as well.
- Psychedelic power/Telepathy (Coiny only): This ability can only be used on Coiny. In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4" and "Intruder Alert", she was able to communicate with Coiny using their thoughts and was able to hold a conversation and impart information to Coiny through their minds.
- Voice changing (Telepathy only): This ability is only available when Pin is speaking through telepathy. In the stinger of "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4", she was able to change to her text-to-speech voice from when she was in The Underworld.
- Enhanced memory: In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4" and "Well, Look Who It Is!", Pin was able to remember her time in The Underworld and that she had limbs whilst in there despite the fact that other characters like Pencil or Nickel immediately forgot anything that occurred in The Underworld. This might have to do with Pin being rendered faceless potentially enhancing her abilities like her memory.
- Electricity generation (Mech suit only): This ability is only present when Pin is wearing her mech suit. In "PointyPointyPointy ♫", she was able to send a powerful current of electricity through her power cable into the spire, which got instantly electrocuted and zapped Ruby, Bubble, and Book. She attempted to do this again in "Spore Day" but failed due to her being shrunk to a subatomic size.
- Flexibility: Pin is able to stretch her limbs to a great length as shown in "Take the Plunge: Part 1".
- Flying: In "We're Not Friends" when Pin is telling Leafy what she could have been doing that whole day, one of the three things she lists is flying and she flies when she says it without her rockets.
- Heat resistant: For some reason, from "I'm the Main Character" to "Shattered!", Pin's body has managed to survive high temperatures in magma, while staying intact in shape. Although Coiny supports her body's structure and prevents her from melting, it's impressive on how long her plastic material has survived.
- Custom Limb Re-attachment: In "Shattered!", Pin could control cutlery as a set of limbs immediately after gaining them.
Weaknesses[]
- Pride: Pin sometimes has a high opinion of herself, especially prevalent when she becomes team leader. This gives her incentive to frequently boss around her teammates at best, and unfairly punish them at worst. The lack of cooperation between them can result in teams that she leads often failing. Past the first season she is much better at raining in her pride.
- Water (Mech suit only): This weakness is only present when Pin is wearing her mech suit. In "PointyPointyPointy ♫" and "Spore Day", whenever she stays in water for too long, she starts getting electrocuted. However, this weakness doesn't apply in the later parts of "Spore Day" and in "🥚".
- Point: Her point can get stuck in things and sometimes she can have trouble pulling herself out, as shown in "Category One". This often happens because she can't reach said things, due to her arms being very low on her body.

- In an announcement by Jacknjellify about a new merch drop, it shows a Mech Pin Plushie, meaning that coincidentally, both Bubble and Pin will be the only characters to have a different variant in plush form.
- Along with this, they are the only plushies to ‘speak' in Dropping Pin on Earth in REAL LIFE - BFDI, with Pin being the main and Bubble making a short appearance before she gets popped. Bubble's line is extracted from an episode though, while Pin remains being voice-acted the entire short.

Other[]
- Every episode in which Pin was eliminated has a number spelled out in their titles (Power of Three, The Escape from Four, The Power of Four).
- However, this was invalidated in “I’m the Main Character”.
General[]
- Pin speaks her syllables in a staccato fashion, wherein her speech is broken up into short bursts of sound that makes every syllable stand out or emphasized, as if they were cut abruptly. Cary stated in his reaction to "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", that when coming up with the voices of the characters, it was decided that Pin would say everything in staccato in reference to her pointy design. This is further made distinct when she speaks with this accent in Taco's voice in the aforementioned episode.
- Pin sweats ooze instead of water, and apparently, eats her sweat.
- However, in "Take the Plunge: Part 2", when Woody is chosen to be on Pin's team, she sweats water instead of ooze. However, this may be transparent ooze, as according to the Official Character Guide, her sweat changes color depending on her mood (transparency may indicate queasiness/disgust).
- From a summer post from Jacknjellify’s X/Twitter, it shows Pin sweating most likely due to heat. The ooze tends to be brown, but it is unknown if the ooze is evaporating or not.
- Pin's shape is actually inaccurate to real-life push pins. Push pins are smaller, thinner, and have longer points.
- Her design in the Underworld is an accurately shaped push pin.
- The character Tack in BFDI Mini Replicas would later ironically mirror what a real-life pin would look like.
- Pin was the 20th and final Huang-made character created for BFDI.
- Coincidentally, she placed 20th in BFDI.
- Pin's favorite screen appears to be normal, but it is tiny and hard to see in.
- Pin lost her limbs in "Get in the Van", being the first contestant to ever lose their limbs or have a change in limbs.
- She's the first contestant originally with limbs to have been rendered in a completely limbless state in some way, followed up later by Ice Cube, Tree, Snowball and Donut in that order.
- Her limbless state lasted the longest from “Get in the Van” to “Shattered!”, where she finally experienced getting limbs again, but as a set of cutlery. Later, her normal limbs will be gained before the end of BFDIA (approximately March 2026 (March 2016 in universe), which is proven in IDFB.
- She's the first contestant originally with limbs to have been rendered in a completely limbless state in some way, followed up later by Ice Cube, Tree, Snowball and Donut in that order.
- Pin's OMG phrase is "Oh my pin factory" (OMPF).
- In the Battle For Nothing intro, she's mad instead of being neutral, as in the original Battle for Dream Island Again intro.
- Pin loves potatoes, shown in "Welcome Back" when she says that she misses their taste since she moved to Yoyleland.
- Pin and Pen are the only contestants who debuted before BFB that have been in any of the Death P.A.C.T. teams throughout the series.
- Coincidentally, both of them are original Squishy Cherries who were bottom 2 in the voting results of "Power of Three" and have similar names with only one letter of difference.
- Pin is shown to have a fascination for gardening.
- In "Get Digging", Pin is able to tell that the seeds Coiny earned as a prize were Yoyleseeds.
- In "Welcome Back", she calls it cute when Fries is planting Grotatoes.
- In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Pin drops her blueberry seeds after bumping into Golf Ball. She wonders where they went afterward. She also knows about their rapid growth and explosiveness.
- In "Gardening Zero", it is revealed that Pin is obsessed with reading about Yoyle biology.
- Pin was the first person to be mutilated by Four.
- Pin was also the fourth contestant to die in Battle for BFDI.
- One of Pin's talents is making cakes, as seen in "Sweet Tooth" where she made a Flower cake and in "Enter the Exit" where she made an embroidered strawberry cake.
- As of now, it is unknown how Pin regained her red pigmentation in BFB.
- This will possibly be confirmed in a future IDFB episode.
- Not counting flashbacks, Pin has had the most cameos in post-split BFB out of the TPOT contestants.
- She is the only female character voiced by Cary Huang in TPOT.
- In "You're A Loser, But...", it's shown that Pin has short term memory loss, it gets triggered when she hears the word "sweeswaw". However, these incidents are non-canon.
- In All BFDI soundboard videos! (compilation), Pin tells Tennis Ball that pins don't have brains, similar to what Eraser said in "Return of the Hang Glider". However, the video is non-canon.
- According to a livestream, Pin supposedly idolizes Sonic the Hedgehog, and has even learnt his iconic "gotta go fast" quote. [3] However, because Pin's idolization of Sonic comes from a paid voice request for Cary Huang, it's unlikely this is canon in the BFDI universe.
- Pin, along with Match, do not like key lime pie.
- Asbestos is Pin's third favorite flavor of cake.
- Pin appears to really like paprika:
- In "Spore Day", when Ruby is eliminated, she tells her: "That's called karma! With extra paprika!".
- In "Airplanes in the Night Sky", when Pin is given a steak for being safe, she eats it before saying: "Could use some extra paprika".
- In "🥚", Pin comes to enjoy being pepper-sprayed despite the pain because it tastes like paprika. Later, paprika is the only thing she buys at the Super Awesome Totally Legit Big And Fully-Stocked Super Mall.
- There is a possibility that she likes to eat Hungarian food.
- Pin is featured on the annual Trans Day of Visibility posts alongside Book, Bottle, Bracelety, Cake, Cloudy, Donut, Eggy, Firey, Flower, Fries, Gaty, Golf Ball, Lightning, Marker, Needle, Pen, Pie, Price Tag, Profily, Remote, Saw, Teardrop, TV, and Winner.[4]
- Pin is one of the few contestants that have been in the real world.
- Pin is apparently allergic to Rocky's vomit as shown in “I’m the Main Character”.
- This may be excessive vomit though, as the first time she was barfed on in the same episode, she wasn't swelling up almost immediately. Though, this could've been off screen.
- As of the present, she has built up a tolerance to barf as shown in "Oneirophobe's Nightmare" when she hugged Barf Bag so hard she bursted. Though, this could've been Barf Bag's barf rather than Rocky's barf, and has possibly not built up a tolerance to that specific type of barf.
- Pin has hosted the most amount of legs during the final challenge in "Shattered!", that being three. These legs consist of the challenges of "🥚", "Launch Party", and "We're Not Friends" (Pin's custom challenge based on her and Leafy's quest to grow a yellow tomato in the episode).
- As of "Shattered!", the Mech Pin Vinyl Figurine had released on the Jacknjellify store. This means Pin is the only contestant to have a figure, alongside Four and X (Only X and Pin are currently being sold).
- Pin is currently the only character to have two products release at the same time, and is the only character so far to gain a bundle.
- As well as this, within just 4-5 days of release, the bundle and plush have sold out, but not being restocked within less that 24 hours later. This means Pin (specifically her mech suit version) has had the fastest restock in the shop's history.
- In under 24 hours after its restock, the Mech Pin plush and bundle have both sold out again, possibly being the reason to the bundle to be removed (the link listed above sends you to the Error:404 page now).

- Pin may own a dog, implied in "Shattered!", where she holds out keys with one of them saying "feed dog" in cursive.
