Plot[]
The short takes place on October 25, 2023, during the events of "Balancing P.A.C.T." PDA is seen talking to Glue on a bench, a clear reference to "What Do You Think of Roleplay?". In their conversation, PDA complains about Shopping Cart, Conch Shell and Rubber Spatula all hating them, adding that they can see it on their faces. Glue suggests that PDA might be overreacting, and PDA reminds them that Glue doesn't have a room number because they don't live at the hotel. PDA asks how Glue could possibly know more about the situation than they do, while Glue sips their coffee. Glue apologizes and asks if they can make a suggestion. PDA agrees, saying they always value Glue’s input. Glue begins by saying that people generally appreciate it when others do nice things for them, but before they can finish, PDA concludes that they should do a couple of good deeds in exchange for a reward. Glue tries to explain that they shouldn't expect anything in return, but PDA dismisses this, thanks them, and walks away.
The episode shifts to all the failed debuters glued to the top of the hotel when PDA suddenly arrives with a leash. PDA mentions that one of them owns a pet snake and adds that the snake has run away, causing Conch Shell to gasp. Rubber Spatula asks how PDA got unstuck, but PDA refuses to answer until Rubber Spatula answers their question. In the background, Pin can be seen flying across the world. PDA begins to describe the snake, named Spots, as green and black, and quick to bolt off when its leash is removed.
Discy points out that all this information was on the collar, and PDA throws the leash away. Rubber Spatula says no one owns a snake named Spots and repeats their previous question. PDA explains that after everyone got glued to the roof, they realized they forgot to put glue under themselves, allowing them to walk freely. Rubber Spatula mentions that Robot Flower probably has some adhesive remover in her shop and asks PDA to get it so they can all be freed. PDA asks if that would count as a good deed, to which Rubber Spatula mutters "sure," but PDA worries about getting caught by the contestants, as that would mean they would be glued again. PDA says that no offense, but they would rather strap themselves in front of a tree and crash it into a wall than let that happen, and Conch Shell replies, "none taken." Clapboard assures them they won't get caught because the contestants are busy competing on the balance beam miles away. Rubber Spatula tells them this might be their only chance to escape, so PDA decides to go for it.
PDA walks up to Boom Mic and a deceased Salt Lamp, claiming they're both needed for directions. PDA pulls them off but accidentally splits Boom Mic in half, killing them. Discy reminds PDA that they literally have a microphone built in, but PDA insists the others still need a microphone. Discy points out that Camera also has one, and PDA throws Salt Lamp and Boom Mic away before asking where Camera is. Clapboard reveals that Camera is glued to their leg, to which PDA responds with "yikes." PDA connects to Camera's Bluetooth, with the username displayed as "xX_C4m3R4_xX." PDA sarcastically calls it a cool name, but the Bluetooth connection fails. Confused, PDA starts adjusting their settings until the connection finally works. However, because Camera and PDA are too close to each other, the audio comes out weird, and Rubber Spatula orders them to go inside the hotel.
As PDA navigates the hotel, they communicate with the others still on the roof using Camera. Rubber Spatula instructs them to check the first floor for the adhesive remover. Seconds later, Rubber Spatula asks if they have arrived yet, and PDA responds that they are still going downstairs, which Rubber Spatula doesn’t believe because they can see PDA's location via Camera. PDA admits they have something else to do, and Rubber Spatula insists they don't have time for that, telling them to head downstairs promptly and stay away from their room. PDA points to a door, asking if it's Rubber Spatula's room. Rubber Spatula lies, saying it isn't, but PDA bursts in anyway, claiming it's too late. Rubber Spatula demands PDA leave their room and threatens to count to three. They begin counting, but PDA remains unfazed and starts searching. Moments later, they come out with a bunch of clutter to throw out, and Rubber Spatula protests that it isn't theirs to dispose of. PDA ignores them. Discy laughs, and Rubber Spatula asks why they're laughing, adding that PDA will go into their room next, much to Discy's horror. Discy holds Camera close, warning PDA not to step into their room, but PDA ignores the request and tells them to be grateful because they are only trying to clean up, much to Discy's frustration.
Meanwhile, both the leash, Boom Mic and Salt Lamp are still being flung away. The scene shifts to during TPOT 8's challenge where Fanny is zoning out. Donut tries to bring her back down to earth and Fanny apologises, adding that she thinks she knows what happened to Tree. At the canal, Tree is approached by Black Hole, who asks what happened here. Tree speculates that someone gave life back to his body, so that when he was recovered, he came back canal-bound. Black Hole finds the situation ridiculous and asks what they're gonna do, and Tree admits he doesn't know. He is about to suggest an idea but Black Hole interrupts him, saying that he thinks he can see someone drowning. Tree turns the other way, asking where he could see that, and whilst his back is turned, the leash, Boom Mic and Salt Lamp are sent the other direction using Black Hole's gravity. Tree could hear his this happening and asks what it was, but Black Hole reminds him that black holes aren't known for their sense of hearing.
Concurrently, PDA is bringing out a pile of clutter and asks Conch Shell what they have. Conch Shell replies that they have normal stuff since they're a normal guy. PDA is pleased to hear this, adding that they like normal stuff, as they place the box they are carrying down. The others urge PDA to go downstairs, worrying that the challenge could end at any moment, but PDA gets distracted by a poster of Conch Shell in a hospital bed. They ask Conch Shell about it, who confuses it for another poster with puppies on it and then one with kitties, much to PDA's astonishment. Conch Shell tells them it was from when they had pink eye, and PDA says they didn't know pink eye could be that bad, adding that they feel uncomfortable now. Rubber Spatula reminds them again of the plan, and PDA decides they aren't going to proceed with the plan anymore. Suddenly, they are hit by a leash—the same one from earlier—which PDA finds strange. They apologize for the outburst, saying they got a little stressed, before getting hit by Boom Mic and Salt Lamp.
On the roof, Rubber Spatula is confused about what PDA meant by not going through with the plan, and Clapboard informs them that PDA isn't answering. They attempt to wake PDA and start shaking Camera, who tells them to stop because they feel like they're going to be sick. Snare Drum asks what they're going to do, and Discy says there's nothing they can do but wait.
PDA wakes up and apologizes again, admitting they don't know what happened. However, they get no response. Suddenly, PDA's reflection in the mirror starts talking to them, telling the real PDA that the others hate them. PDA is confused by this. The reflection claims that's why they're being ignored, adding that the others hate PDA and want them to fail. PDA is puzzled as to why no one cares despite all they do for them, wondering if maybe they are in the wrong. The reflection suggests that PDA is overreacting and insists that nothing is ever their fault, and PDA agrees. They can't understand why the others are upset when they’re doing everything right. The reflection says it’s because everyone else fails to see their charismatic nature and impressive bowling high score of 196. The reflection encourages them by saying they are better than the others and don't owe them anything, concluding that PDA should do something for themselves for once. PDA admits they’ve never thought of that before and thanks their reflection before leaving.
Back on the roof, Conch Shell suggests sending PDA down to get the glue remover for them, which confuses Discy because they were already doing that. Just then, PDA returns without the glue remover but instead with a bunch of items. Rubber Spatula asks if they have the glue remover, and PDA admits they don't, adding that they're tired of having to do things for them. Rubber Spatula is confused, but PDA continues, saying Rubber Spatula's plan was terrible and that they came up with a better one. They turn the box containing the items upside down, causing the contents to fall out, and PDA says they shouldn't be doing this for the others because of how rude everyone has been to them all their life. However, they decide to help them anyway.
Suddenly, Two appears with Boom Mic and Salt Lamp and reattaches Boom Mic back to the rest of their body, bringing them back to life. PDA is fascinated by this discovery and tries testing it out, but Two is confused as to why PDA is unstuck. PDA realizes that Two isn't supposed to know they got unstuck and quickly resorts to their plan before it's too late. PDA reveals they created a catapult out of all the clutter borrowed from everyone's rooms, saying it can be used to take care of Two for good. They attempt to launch the catapult several times, but it has no effect, so Two glues PDA to the roof.
Rubber Spatula sarcastically thanks PDA, and PDA tells them to be quiet. Rubber Spatula encourages everyone else to do the same, but no one does. PDA exclaims that everyone makes mistakes, and Rubber Spatula points out that there's a difference between making a mistake and deliberate sabotage. PDA is confused about how it could be sabotage and is astonished that Rubber Spatula thinks they screwed up on purpose. PDA mentions that they had a Plan B prepared but decides not to go through with it because they think the others don't deserve it. Discy says that's fine with them, and Clapboard and Conch Shell agree. PDA tries to call Glue but can't because they've been blocked, which shocks them. Finally, they give up, saying that being glued is fine, adding that they doubt they'll need to move anytime soon. Rubber Spatula asks if PDA has a Plan C, to which PDA quickly replies no.
Stinger[]
Glue is seen relaxing on the beach with a portrait of PDA, only to throw it into ocean. Juice Box then calls him out for littering in the ocean, with Glue walking into the ocean to pick up the portrait per request by Juice Box.

Trivia[]
General[]
- This is the second short where the failed debutants have a major role. The first was "Fish and Chips", with Anchor playing a major role.
- When abbreviated, the title reads "PDA", an allusion to the character of the same name.
- It is currently assumed that this short is canon similar to "BFDI Is Back" and "Paper Towel" due to the usage of moments from "The Seven Wonders of Goiky" and "Balancing P.A.C.T." and the labeling of when this short supposedly takes place. And due to Conch Shell's room being the same one seen later in "Category One"
- If this is true, then it would be the first canon short to come out since "Paper Towel" in 2016.
- It would also also the first canon TPOT short to be released.
- Despite likely being canon, it isn't featured in the playlist that contains every BFDI episode, even though the playlist includes "BFDI Is Back" and "Paper Towel"
- Additionally, it would be the first canon episode to mainly feature debuters.
- This is the second short to feature a BFDI Mini character, being Glue. The first one being "Pie Vs Pi: The Pi Day Massacre", featuring Banana Apple.
- This is the first BFDI Short to have the title of the short be changed.
- This is the only episode to be released in a non-chronological timeline, as it takes place before the episode "Outbreak at Stake" was canonically released.
- The photo Glue has at the end of the episode is one of Polypawns's BFDI character icons.
Continuity references[]
- The beginning scene of Glue and PDA talking mirrors the start of "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", taking place in the same location, with the same shot composition as well as using the same soundtrack.
- Glue's face when PDA asks what their room number is resembles Gelatin's "Uhh" face in "Get in the Van" and, in extension, The S!'s faces after losing in "The Seven Wonders of Goiky".
- While PDA is emptying their box of stolen stuff, a jar of Cyanide can be seen.
- After PDA tips out their box of stolen stuff, Bally and Marble can be seen, one being used in the catapult later.
Cultural references[]
- The pink triangle that pops out of PDA's box of stolen stuff could reference the Triangular Block from Super Mario World.
- The console in Conch Shell's room resembles the Nintendo GameCube.
- PDA references the Bible when they say that David killed Goliath.
Goofs[]
- At 2:45, Discy's face isn't at the right spot. It should be on the green part, not the pink part. It happens again at various points.
- At 7:40, Conch Shell's outline doesn't thin at an area where it's supposed to.
- At 7:50, Boom Mic's stick appears below Conch Shell. In the very next scene, it appears at the same spot camera-wise but beside PDA.
