Battle for Dream Island Wiki
Battle for Dream Island Wiki

Due to Battle for Dream Island Again's hiatus, many events were left unexplained when they occurred in later seasons. To combat this, the post-hiatus episodes of Battle for Dream Island Again attempted to fix various plot holes through backshadowing.

BFDI[]

In "Take the Plunge: Part 2", Pin's sweat is seen to be blue, suggesting that it's water. However, "Get Digging" and all other later episodes establish that her sweat is a lime-green ooze, causing an inconsistency. This was until the Battle for Dream Island: Official Character Guide came out, which confirmed that Pin's ooze-sweat sometimes changes color based on her mood, meaning that Pin was just sweating differently-colored ooze in BFDI 1b.

AAAAAA TLC LOL

TV falls into the LOL with the key

When "Welcome Back" was released, it was unknown why TV was in the Locker of Losers, and why only the first five eliminated contestants of BFDIA were inside instead of every eliminated contestant. In "Intruder Alert", it was revealed that TV was flung into the LOL for not making a good enough Cake at Stake song, and that he stole the key to the LOL, which prevented anyone else from getting in or out. The Weak Trembling Fortress was then built to house future eliminated contestants.

In "The Long-lost Yoyle City", Bubble is sent to the Locker of Losers, but she is seen outside of it in "Welcome Back". It is unknown how she died, but she is revived and killed again in "Catch These Hands", "PointyPointyPointy ♫", and "Spore Day", and will likely be revived again before IDFB.

In "Welcome Back", it is shown that the Locker of Losers was somehow transported to Yoyleland, despite being located in the Plains during pre-hiatus BFDIA. It is shown in "Well, Look Who It Is!" that Snowball attached Fanny's blades to the top as a propeller and used a crank to fly the LOL out of the Plains. The LOL lost its crank in "I'm the Main Character" when Leafy planted a Friendship Flag into it, which made it crash-land in Yoyleland.

The LOL inhabitants receive new assets

The LOL prisoners who failed to join BFDI were given updated assets in "Welcome Back". In "Well, Look Who It Is!", it is revealed that Gelatin shot the Locker of Losers with the Enhancement L-Yoy-Ser, which updates their designs, aside from Lightning still lacking arms and Grassy retaining his old appearance. This explains the noticeable design changes for several characters like Clock, Marker, Bracelety, and Cake, as well as why Tree and Fanny now have limbs.

Woody is alive during "Welcome Back", despite being dead during pre-hiatus BFDIA. He was revealed to be recovered in "I'm the Main Character".

BFB[]

In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Donut and Bottle seem to have an offscreen conversation, as Donut agrees with something Bottle said. In "Start the Shift", when Tennis Ball and Nickel travel back in time to that episode, Donut comments on them, and Bottle says that it was "anything but normal." This leads to Donut's line in the original episode.

In "Don't Dig Straight Down", Donut tells Gelatin that the proper term for an Inverted Planet is "Buried Forest, Deciduously Insulated". It is shown in "Well, Look Who It Is!" that he learnt about this term from overhearing Pinecone calling it that term.

In "The Four is Lava", Leafy asks why Firey recovered her back then, which happened during "Well, Look Who It Is!".

Seasonal Shift (1836)

Ruby glitches into the scene with her same pose from BFB 20

In "A Taste of Space", Ruby appears on the Sun for a split second with her arms crossed, despite being eliminated earlier in the episode. The cause of this was revealed to be the huge amount of damage done to the timeline in "Seasonal Shift", as Ruby randomly glitches in making the same pose when the contestants travelled back to "Who Stole Donut's Diary?".

In "Let's Raid The Warehouse", inside Yellow Face's warehouse, Gelatin, Firey, and Taco find a box that says "DON'T OPEN, PURPLE INSIDE", and Purple Face is revealed to be trapped inside this box in "Fashion For Your Face!". In "Catch These Hands", it is shown that Yellow Face trapped him inside the box when the two were bickering inside the Eiffel Tower.

In "SOS (Save Our Show)", Announcer claims that Gelatin was the only contestant to not be eliminated in BFDI ever, despite being eliminated in "Taste the Sweetness". This was cleared up by Gelatin telling the Puffball Speaker Box to not tell Announcer that he was out in that episode, which also explains why Gelatin never said anything to correct the Announcer.

In "Chapter Complete", Spongy says that he has been eliminated four times (BFDI 3, BFDI 23, BFB 16, and BFB 19), however this became an error after the release of "Lots of Mud". During VidCon 2025, Wuggolo had stated that he had excluded when he was eliminated in BFDIA 11.[1]

TPOT[]

In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Pin is overly mad about BFDIA, saying that it wasn't even fun, to the confusion of Coiny. This is now explained as Pin went from losing her limbs, then her face, to her size being shrunk down, to her and Coiny's attempt to fix all of this being futile, making it understandable on why she was so mad about BFDIA in that episode. Though, the added context inadvertently portrays Coiny as oblivious to her obvious suffering.

However, after the release of "Airplanes in the Night Sky", it could be assumed that Pin could be ashamed of her past actions, as seen in that episode when she had betrayed Coiny to win the challenge, as well as drilling Book in the face. Additionally, it now portrays Coiny as being proud of Pin for doing morally questionable actions, rather than being oblivious to her suffering.

It is shown in "Category One" that the last remaining Bug only went to the third floor of the Hotel because Nickel, who had time-traveled to the future from "Start the Shift", spoke in Bug-ese while on that floor.

In "Seasonal Shift", a huge amount of damage is done to the timeline of the universe due to several failed debuters traveling back in time after they and One come across Tennis Ball's Yoylite. Near the end of the episode, One is able to fix most of the major problems back to normal, but the contestants acknowledge that a few changes weren't repairable with all the damage done. This may be the in-universe reason for most, if not every, unexplained plot hole in BFDI.
