For the contestant, see Puffball.

Puffballs are a species that live in Goiky. They have vocoded voices and puffy fur that shifts in color depending on their mood. They almost always float and fly, unless disabled, shown in "Fortunate Ben".

Puffballs are also known to regurgitate a liquid rainbow substance during times of agony and distress, shown in "Get in the Van" when Pin's butter knife stabbed the Puffball speaker box. They are also known to sparkle as they float and talk. This, however, is mostly limited on the knowledge from the known ones.

Appearances[]

Puffballs are small-medium sized, floating puff-like creatures, with colorful fur that would change colors when speaking and vocoded voices that changes depending on their mood. Most of them are limbless, but some of them do have limbs.

Behavior[]

All Puffballs speak in vocoded voices. They possess the abilities to fly and float, and change their sizes.

They vomit rainbow substance when distressed and are able to hypnotize objects like Firey when singing. After being stabbed, the Puffball Speaker Box was able to vomit the rainbow substance for ten months straight (in-universe) without running out. She was also able to recover from being stabbed with no ill effects once the knife was removed, though whether this is a trait of puffballs or speaker boxes is unknown.

Weakness[]

  • Fire: Due to their fur, they can burn; however, this does not kill them.
  • Squashing: They can be squashed and crushed to death.
  • Restraint: Tying them up with tape prevents them from flying, forcing them to move around by rolling.
  • Electricity: They can be stunned by electricity. They do not appear to be affected afterwards, though.

Rainbow Substance[]

"Rainbow Substance" redirects here. For the substance shown in BFB 6, see Twinkle of Contagion.

The Rainbow Substance is an odd rainbow liquid made of remains of digested food chemicals regurgitated by the Puffball species during times of distress. It was first seen in BFDIA 4 after Puffball stated how she hopes Dream Island will be found, which causes her to vomit the substance. It was also used twice in BFDIA 5a when Puffball Speaker Box got stabbed by Pin's knife and vomited out the substance, and Puffball also vomited out the substance at Pin when she found out her speaker box had been killed. In BFB 12, it appeared when Rocky, inside of Puffball's body, threw it up due to his chronic vomiting issue. A very small portion of it was seen in TPOT 2 as well, when Puffball let go of a block she was holding with her mouth after scaring off Death P.A.C.T. Again for stealing blocks. The substance looks somewhat similar to the Twinkle of Contagion.

Trivia[]

  • There are only two known Puffballs in the entirety of BFDI (not counting recommended characters); only Puffball is the original and Puffball Speaker Box is a speaker box of her.
