The Really Weird Planet in the Orion Nebula is a location that first appears in "Intruder Alert". It is located in the Orion Nebula, and is inhabited by extra-terrestrial lifeforms.
Appearance[]
The planet appears to be rocky, mostly beige in color with large, wavy green lines across its surface. Various purple cone-shaped structures dot the landscape, and some areas release red spices that cause a character to spazz out and deform (similar to Mutilation) for a few seconds if ingested. Alien flower-like growths sprout from the surface, along with clusters of huge red and blue mushrooms.
Coverage[]
In "Intruder Alert", Gelatin tricks FreeSmart into thinking the challenge is to step foot on three different planets. They follow, landing on Saturn, Uranus, and eventually landing on the planet. Ruby describes it as a "really weird planet in the Orion Nebula" before flying away using the rocket.
In "Launch Party", after Tennis Ball failed to sell bark, calcite, malachite, arsenuranospathite, and barf to Evil Leafy and various Recommended Characters, he wonders if there are any beings in the entire universe who want his Earth exclusive items, his message goes all the way to the Really Weird Planet in the Orion Nebula, intriguing a few aliens. The aliens then send a signal to the Universal Translator inside the Fish monster, messaging that anything from Earth is gladly accepted in their planet. This makes Tennis Ball relieved, as he now has someone to buy his items. The message also interests Book, suggesting to Pin that they should sell their items to the aliens once they stop getting pelted with Coiny's knives. Later in the episode, since Tennis Ball has Coiny's basket, he predicts he is heading towards the Really Weird Planet in the Orion Nebula, so using the spaceship he got last episode, he flies towards the planet too. Shortly after, Tennis Ball finishes building his rocket, stating it isn't his best work, but should do the trick. He flies towards the planet and is excited to do research on it, but is interrupted by Coiny, who tries destroying his ship with lasers. Tennis Ball then sets up a shield, deflecting the laser and obliterating Jupiter. Tennis Ball gets mad, as it is his fifth favorite planet, and retaliates by shooting lasers at Coiny. Tennis Ball misses all of them, instead obliterating more planets and a few recommended characters, which makes Coiny mock him and both of them fly towards the Really Weird Planet in the Orion Nebula.
Pin, Book, and Needle watch them as they head to the planet. Pin suggests to Book that they should destroy the boys, and Book tells her it's cruel and that they should collect items instead. After their alliance splits off, Book teleports to Yoyleland with her map she got from Leafy, and Pin destroys it and flies to the Really Weird Planet in the Orion Nebula. Tennis Ball arrives on the planet and offers his items to the excited aliens. He then sells his items to five of the aliens and retrieves his immunity ticket. Tennis Ball was about to return to Earth, but is interrupted by Coiny, who is here to get his basket back from him.
In "Seasonal Shift", this is where Two lands after missing Earth due to Anchor moving it. On the planet, there are aliens. Two tries to ask them to join the show, but the aliens attack Two in return. Eventually, Pin and Fanny kill the aliens in order to get Two to return to Earth.
Trivia[]
- This is the only known planet with aliens in the Battle for Dream Island series, unless the little alien in "The Power of Four" was not merely an illusion on TV's screen. However, if it was in fact real, it would also mean that it has died, making this fact remain true.
- During its three appearances, it varies in size, being considerably smaller in "Intruder Alert". This is likely for comedic effect.
- Despite the Orion Nebula being hundreds of light-years away, it is still visible from earth, and it is possible for the characters to go there within a few minutes.
- The design of the planet bears a striking resemblance to Cattor, a fictional planet from the video game Spore.
