In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4", while looking for a queen bug in the Bug Hive. Ruby finds a hallway and leaves her team to check it out. Upon entering the Gemstone Cave, she notices her sisters. Ruby is initially excited to reunite with her family, but they do not exhibit the same affection back. Sapphire tells Ruby that she crushed their dreams to be on BFDI and that she will never forgive her for that. Ruby asks what does she mean, and Emerald replies that back when they all lived together and the Announcer went around Goiky searching for new contestants.
Before Ruby joined BFDIA, she and her sisters all lived together. Before "The Reveal", the Announcer went around Goiky searching for new contestants, finding Ruby and her sisters in the cave. Ruby's sisters all wanted to compete together, but the Announcer wanted only one applicant. Ruby's sisters continued to beg, while Ruby herself ate a bunch of gumdrops. This gave her a sugar rush and she cut ahead of all of her sisters, saying: "Please please please can I join the game please please?"
Diamond tells Ruby that they all wanted to compete together, but she just had to be the star of the show. Ruby asks Diamond if she isn't the star of the show, since she went to Gem School. Diamond replies that everyone went to Gem School, calling Ruby poo brain, to which Poo replies that she was the valedictorian. Ruby is shocked by this, since she remembers Book saying that Gem School is only for diamonds in "No More Snow!". Diamond reveals that she lied to Ruby about her not going to Gem School, since she wanted to humble her, since they all went to school, but she were just getting so cocky because she was cast for BFDI. Ruby's sisters then laugh at Ruby while she looks humiliated. Diamond says that there's a thing called lying, which is justified to people who robbed one of their dreams.
Ruby asks her sisters why they decided to live in the Gemstone Cave. Peridot replies that once the viewers saw them as failed BFDI rejects, they just wanted to avoid the cameras, and Lapis Lazuli says that no cameramen would dare to step inside the Bug Hive. Ruby asks what cameraman, and Lapis Lazuli and Opal realize that they don't see any cameras. Fluorite asks why are they trapping themselves in the Gemstone Cave in the first place, and Lolite says that she wants to compete just like Ruby. Ruby says that she's hearing what they're saying, but asks what they want her to do about it. Ruby's sisters all look at Ruby and say: "I think we all know what needs to be done!" Ruby's sisters then merge with Ruby.
From "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4" to "Spore Day", Ruby is merged with her sisters.
In "Well, Look Who It Is!", Amethyst comments that it's sad Flower is on life support. Fluorite says she thinks she might know how to lift Flower's spirit and Ruby and her sisters proceed to do the Flower Power dance. Needle asks Ammolite if she wants to watch the Cake at Stake, and she agrees. At the auditorium, the bugs decide to postpone the ceremony until all the other contestants are revived. Ruby, her sisters and Needle go to Yoyleland to recover everyone. Upon arriving in Yoyleland, Variscite agrees to type in everyone's names as Needle cranks. When they recover Pin, Needle remarks that it didn't take that much cranking. Opal asks who she has to thank for that, and Needle says her, before they high-five. Amber also cranks out Horrifying Sludge. When Needle asks Ruby who that is, Pyrite says it was her best friend as a kid.
In "PointyPointyPointy ♫", Ruby along with her sisters are seen competing with Book.
In "Spore Day", Ruby and her sisters were eliminated and were flung by Firey Jr.
In "Respect to the Wicked", Ruby along with her sisters were seen in the Weak Trembling Fortress pulling Bomby in.
In "Start the Shift", as the WTF is going a fumigation, Ruby's sisters are seen screaming, and Ruby says that her sisters aren't pests.

- All of Ruby's sisters have the same voice, being voiced by Cary Huang, just like Ruby herself.
- Ruby is one of three characters who canonically have a family. The others are Gelatin, who mentioned that his brothers are baguette fans in "Well, Look Who It Is!", and Teardrop, whose family appeared in "PointyPointyPointy ♫".
