A hypothetical sixth season of the Battle for Dream Island series was first discussed in March 2020 after the release of "The Escape from Four" in the video "The Secret Behind BFB's Split". It was also mentioned in the end of "Chapter Complete".
Cary had said that all five seasons need to be finished before the sixth season could begin.

In "The Secret Behind BFB's Split", after Cary Huang states that after Battle for BFB ends after a year or so, he had the opportunity to do a new season that changes something, with examples such as "a new style of season", or having "a new art form" being given by Cary.
Cary Huang had mentioned in "CARY REACTS TO BFB 20" on Humany that he wanted to return to the art style that Battle for Dream Island, Battle for Dream Island Again, and IDFB had. It is possible that this season may return to that art style, although unlikely since BFDIA has been revived and kept that style.
On August 7, 2020, the season was further discussed by Cary Huang on HTwins Central, stating that he wants to work on a season six, but nothing concrete had been decided at the time, but likely will when the time comes.[1]
On February 20, 2021, it was confirmed in Unboxing 3 Silver Play Buttons that if the vote count on BFB 30 reaches 6 digits, there will be a 6th season of BFDI on the Jacknjellify channel at some point in the future.
On February 22, 2021, Cary Huang said the vote count for BFB 30 was 91,424, therefore season 6 was not confirmed. However, the post also read "looks like that 100K threshold will be TPOT's honor to break", giving the possibility of a sixth season, if a future episode of Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two hits 100,000 votes. While it's not a TPOT episode, "Well Rested" has 269,548 votes which multiplies it by at 2.69548x times.
In "Chapter Complete", Four, X, Purple Face, and the Announcer were all seen planning another season. During the credits sequence, Cary and Michael said they'd be taking a break, but confirmed Four and X will be back soon. Both of these imply that season 6 may be released in the future. Four and X eventually made a reappearance in "The Great Goikian Bake-Off".
After the unexpected release of Well Rested, it gained over 200,000 votes, which is over the 100,000 vote goal. However, no announcements or news about the release of season 6 have been made since, most likely due to Battle for Dream Island Again and Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two being produced simultaneously.
On the meetup on July 6, 2024 at 5PM, Cary had said all five seasons need to be finished until the sixth season has a chance to shine.[citation needed]
On the meetup on July 20, 2024 at 11:30 AM, Michael said he wants Balloony to host Season 6.[citation needed]
Trivia[]
- Michael confirmed a Season 6 at the BFDI x II Tour on June 29th.
- Even though "Chapter Complete" didn't reach 100,000 votes, Season 6 will probably still occur, as the vote requirements for season 6 were probably a joke, like when the vote requirements for "Return of the Hang Glider" weren't reached, but BFDIA occurred anyway.
- However, BFDIA happened due to King of the Web.[2]
- If they weren't a joke, every BFDIA episode starting with "Well Rested", as well as "Category One" from TPOT, exceeded the 100,000-vote threshold by over two and three times, respectively.
- For the latter, assuming all voters cast a vote each for the three teams who had a ceremony that episode, there would still be over 100,000 votes.
Speculation[]
- It is possible this season will be hosted by either Four, X, Purple Face, and/or Announcer, as they were all planning for a season six in the finale.
- The season could be hosted by Balloony as Michael said at the Los Angeles 2024 Meetup that he wants Balloony to host Season 6.
- He may not though, as he did help host BFDIA 14.
- If Four and company do host this season, Firey, Leafy, and Teardrop may not compete in the season due to separating from Four's group after "Chapter Complete".
- It's also possible that Four and X may not even host this season, due to being preoccupied with their new kitchen in the TPOT hotel since "The Great Goikian Bake-Off".
- It's also also possible that Announcer may be the only host for this season, since Purple Face has been inside of Four since "Out Of The Blue".
- The season could be hosted by Balloony as Michael said at the Los Angeles 2024 Meetup that he wants Balloony to host Season 6.
- This season might put an end to Coiny, Golf Ball, Ice Cube, Liy, Needle, Pencil, Pin, Rocky and Tennis Ball's streak of participating in every season of BFDI due to all of them still competing in TPOT if Season 6 premieres before the TPOT finale.
- However, because all previous seasons are required to be completed before starting a new one, it’s likely that their streak will continue.
- Given the choices out of the seven season one contestants that stayed with Four to the events of "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life," this season could potentially be the first season to start with the Squishy Cherries (Blocky, Bubble, Spongy, Woody) outnumbering the original Squashy Grapes (Flower).
- Unless the failed TPOT debuters get another chance on competing, this season could potentially start with the least ever amount of armless players, as Spongy is the only one that is currently able to compete in a season.
