In "Return of the Hang Glider," Eraser explains to Pen that a cool coincidence would occur if someone took the words in place of the episode number in each episode and lined up those words in order of what episode they came from, such that it starts with the first spoken word of the first episode, the second spoken word of the second episode, and so on. In that same episode, Pen refused to believe that fact. However, it is proven that the message does exist.
Since there are 25 episodes in season one, there are 25 words total in the message. Here is the season one message:
"Yeah, what is it now? I see you are taking the word with the place of the episode number. This is it: Message, no coincidence." (see mistake below)
In season two, there are currently 14 episodes. Since the season is currently incomplete, the message so far is:
"Don't try that thing again because it definitely won't work this time. Instead you..."
However, In PointyPointyPointy ♫, if the word "basketball" is counted as one word instead of two, the message will instead be:
"Don't try that thing again because it definitely won't work this time. Instead, for..."
Episodes 5b through 5e will likely not be included in the message since they are parts and not episodes, just like the second part of the first episode in season 1.
If BFDIA 5b-5e are included, then the message would be:
"Don't try that thing again second rest die been because it definitely won't work this time. Instead you..."
In season three, the length of the season was unknown, or even if this season had a secret message at all. Only one word is known so far, which was spoken by Ruby at the start of her blog.
"Welcome..."
In season four, there appears to be no secret message, as the sentence created here does not seem to be coherent.
"Hey...Huh? Excited? Up...who loud the looking me? Balloony months how and yourself just not grass. Never. Why? What... New! Such can fine. That's, don't the think as our."
In season five, the length of the season is currently unknown, as well as if this season even has a secret message.
"What is going on, a can of trying happened? We what work do... "
If the video played in the beginning of the first episode doesn't count, the message so far would be:
"Maybe is going on a can of trying happened? We what work do..."
If some says the last words of the intro starting it would be:
“Two wait! Cheesecake rich Plates! Two stop! Arms now! Help Escape Two! That…”
What's weird is that starting on TPOT 9, every intro sequence can be alligned to make a message: "Now Help Escape Two That..." who knows if this will actually lead to something or not.
Mistake[]
The actual 22nd word of Episode 22 happens to be "is":
1Hey 2Flower, 3come 4check 5this 6out! 7Whatever 8it 9is, 10I 11don't 12care! 13But 14Flower, 15this 16time 17it's 18really 19important. 20Unless 21it 22is 23Dream 24Island...
It is seen that in this scenario, "whatever" is seen as two words by jacknjellify to have "it" as the 22nd word spoken in the episode to complete the message. In reality, however, "whatever", in both context and at the situation the word is spoken, is only seen as one word, so the real 22nd word is is, not it, like how the message should be. This is most likely a grammar mistake that jacknjellify simply overlooked during the making of the episode.
Trivia[]
- The BFDIA secret message is most likely to tell the viewer not to try and find a message again.
- In Cary Huang's BFDIA 10 reaction video, he mentioned there is a secret message when the word 'work' was said, confirming there will be a secret message for Season 2.[1]
