The Sender Scoop Thrower, also known as the Person Tosser in the Assets .fla file, is a device used to launch an eliminated contestant to the Tiny Loser Chamber.
It was first used to launch Spongy in "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?". It was then used in over half of BFDI until the Laser Powered Teleportation Devices were introduced.
It was used again in BFDIA. Its first appearance in this season was when it was used to fling the eliminated contestants who didn't make it into the show to the TLC, but it was a much larger version than the one which was used before. It was also capable of flinging the TLC to the Locker of Losers. It is used for the rest of the season's run to launch eliminated contestants to the TLC, and then into the Weak Trembling Fortress later in the season, along with disqualifying Bubble. Although, it was deterred once, in "Get in the Van", as when Match is about to be eliminated, the elimination prevention plan that she and Pencil had made prior helped her stay in the game, albeit illegally.
In "Intruder Alert", it is used to send TV to the LOL. Later in the episode, it used to send to Rocky to the LOL, but fails as the LOL was locked by TV. In the end of the episode, Rocky falls into the WTF instead.
In "Meaty", it is used to send Firey to the WTF.
The first appearance of the Sender Scoop Thrower in BFB is in "B.F.B. = Back From Beginning", to fling Purple Face. It then appears later in "Chapter Complete" to fling Birthday Cake when they attempt to make drumroll noises.
The Sender Scoop Thrower is referenced in "Catch These Hands" as Gelatin references it to Tennis Ball to not get crushed for the challenge.
Gelatin, Spongy, Ice Cube, Ruby and Ruby's sisters are also flung in the following episodes.
Bomby is then flung in "Respect to the Wicked".
Variations[]
Golf Club[]
The golf club is a variation of the Sender Scoop Thrower that functions the same as the Sender Scoop Thrower, being used to fling a contestant to the WTF. It was only used to fling Golf Ball to the WTF in "PointyPointyPointy ♫".
Trivia[]
- Pencil, Golf Ball, Tennis Ball, Puffball, Coiny, Yellow Face, Foldy, Stapy, Loser, and Liy are the only contestants that haven't been flung by the Sender (not counting being dropped to the TLC).
- In "PointyPointyPointy ♫", Golf Ball was flung to the WTF with a golf club instead of the Sender Scoop Thrower.
- When it flung Spongy, it came from the center cylinder of the Cake at Stake place, but in future appearances it seems to come from Announcer himself or from offscreen.
- At the point of the BFDI when there were 3 teams, the Sender Scoop Thrower dropped contestants in the TLC instead of flinging them. This only happened to Teardrop, Golf Ball, and Coiny.
- Excluding IDFB, TPOT is the only season where the Sender Scoop Thrower haven’t been used yet.
- As of "🥚", Yellow Face, Golf Ball, Pencil, Nickel, and Fries are the only contestants not sent to the TLC or WTF via being flung by the Sender Scoop Thrower.
- Yellow Face died in acid, Golf Ball was flung by something else (a golf club), while Pencil and Nickel were not flung at all.
- It's possible that the Sender Scoop Thrower will no longer be used to fling the contestants to the WTF, as Pencil, Nickel, and Fries (the latest 3 eliminated contestants as of "Airplanes in the Night Sky") were not flung.
- Including being flung after his elimination, Spongy has been flung with the Sender Scoop Thrower the most times out of any contestant, at 6 (in "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?", "Insectophobe's Nightmare", "Lots of Mud", "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4", "PointyPointyPointy ♫", and "Start the Shift").
