  • January 1, 2010: "Take the Plunge", the first episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released in two parts. Part 1 is their most viewed video to date with more than 70 million views, and Part 2 released an hour after Part 1.
  • January 4, 2010: Tribute to Jaysillyboy is released.
  • January 15, 2010: Homestar Runner! In Spore! is released.
  • February 1, 2010: "Barriers and Pitfalls", the 2nd episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • February 4, 2010: The jacknjellify YouTube channel turns 2 years old.

    • "Don't Lose Your Marbles", the 13th episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • January 28, 2011: A sneak peek of Battle for Dream Island's 14th episode is publicly shown to jacknjellify's Facebook page.
  • February 1, 2011: "Half a Loaf Is Better Than None", the 14th episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • February 4, 2011: The jacknjellify YouTube channel turns 3 years old.
  • February 20, 2011: The battlefordreamisland.com domain is registered. Currently, it immediately redirects to its YouTube playlist.
  • March 1, 2011: "Vomitaco", the 15th episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • April 1, 2011: "Bowling, Now with Explosions!", the 16th episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • April 12, 2011: "Puppetry of Bowling, Now with Explosions!", the second April Fools episode of Battle for Dream Island, gets uploaded to jacknjellify.
  • May 1, 2011:
    • "The Reveal", the 17th episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
    • jacknjellify announces that a video of the storyboard for "Take the Plunge" would be released after the end of the voting period for "The Reveal". Unfortunately by this time, it was unreleased.
  • May 20, 2011: "Mandelbrot Needle Zoom" is released.
  • June 1, 2011: "Reveal Novum", the 18th episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • June 7, 2011: "Alligator Sky Music Video", a music video for the Owl City song by the same name, is released.

    • A sneak peek of Battle for Dream Island's 20th episode is publicly shown on jacknjellify's Facebook page.
    • Michael Huang's personal Twitter account, @fernozzle, is created. He does not make any tweets for two years during creation.
  • August 1, 2011: "Gardening Hero", the 20th episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • August 7, 2011: "Intensive BFDI Unit", a YTPMV of "Intensive Care Unit" by Renard, is released.
  • August 9, 2011: ozgq, Michael Huang's alternate personal channel, is created.
  • August 11, 2011: "Battle for Dream Island - Storyboard 1: "Acquire the Submergence"", a storyboard of "Take the Plunge", is released.
  • August 23, 2011: "Rock My BFDI", a YTPMV of "Rock My Emotions" by Kitsune^2, is released.
  • August 26, 2011: "???" is released. This remains the least viewed video on their main channel since it's unlisted and is not included in any of their playlists.
  • August 28, 2011: A fake sneak peek of Battle for Dream Island's 21st episode is shown at htwins.net.
  • August 31, 2011: A real sneak peek of Battle for Dream Island's 21st episode is publicly shown at jacknjellify's Facebook page.
  • September 1, 2011: "The Glistening", the 21st episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • September 2, 2011: An Evil Leafy wallpaper is posted onto battlefordreamisland.com.
  • September 10, 2011: "BFDI Fan Art Reviews" is released. It’s a video where two of the creators review the submissions for Battle for Dream Island's fan-art contest.
  • September 18, 2011: YOYLECAKE Michael, Michael Huang's current music channel, is created.
  • October 1, 2011: "Don't Pierce My Flesh", the 22nd episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • October 13, 2011: jacknjellify announces on Facebook that they have started working on the audio for Battle for Dream Island's 23rd episode.
  • October 25, 2011: "Am I Waiting on a Tribute Video?", a YTPMV of "Am I Waiting on a Square Space?" by Rev ft. MAKI and R.Cena, is released.
  • November 1, 2011: "Hurtful!", the 23rd episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released.
  • December 1, 2011: "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2", the 24th episode of Battle for Dream Island, is released. It announces that there will be a second season if it gets at least 1,000 votes.
  • December 22, 2011: A piece of art gets uploaded to jacknjellify's Facebook page, featuring Firey.

2012 is the 2nd year since the creation of BFDI and the 4th year since the creation of jacknjellify.

  • January 1, 2012:
  • January 17, 2012: "BFDI Second Season!" is released. It announces that they are running for the King of the Web competition and that there will be a second season of the show if they get 100,000 votes. Unlike the first season, it was originally planned to be split across the carykh, fernozzle, and losmmorpg channels.
  • January 19, 2012: "Subscribers Should Watch This" is released. It announces the same thing as the previous video except with an addition mentioning that the second season would include a mix of some of the original characters, some of the recommended characters from "The Reveal", and new recommended characters.
  • February 1, 2012: "BFDI Character Bodies Released!" is released. It gives a link in the description to download all the character bodies used for Battle for Dream Island.
  • February 4, 2012: The jacknjellify YouTube channel turns 4 years old.
  • February 11, 2012:
    • "BFDI Second Season Voting" is released. It’s another video announcing the second season and it gives a link to a video with the same name where you can vote for what contestants will appear.
    • Another video with the same name is released onto carykh. It announces that viewers could vote for what characters would appear in the second season of Battle for Dream Island in the comments and that the 20 characters with the most votes would join.
  • February 16, 2012: "Doing It Again!" is released. It announces that they will be running for the King of the Web competition again and that the second season of Battle for Dream Island would be released weekly instead of monthly if they get 12,500 votes. In addition, all of the money won would be donated to water.org, a company that provides clean water to countries which don't have access.
  • April 1, 2012: "add 'em cats; there are two!" is released.
  • April 21, 2012: "I Can Make a Difference!" is released in HD.
  • May 5, 2012: "Ranko6 Tailenol", a YTPMV of "Rainbow Tylenol" by Kitsune^2, is released.
  • April-June 2012: BFDIA starts production.
  • June 29, 2012: "BFDIA 1: Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", the 1st episode of Battle for Dream Island Again, is released.
  • July 4, 2012: "BFDIA 1 Alternate Cut", an edited “alternate cut” of Battle For Dream Island Again, is released.
  • July 12, 2012: "BFDI-Chapp", a YTPMV of "Something-chapp" by Jockson, is released.
  • July 24, 2012: "BFDI Assets, For Real This Time" is released. It provides a new link to all the assets used in Battle for Dream Island. This was because the original release which contained the bodies got corrupted.
  • July 2012: jacknjellify starts a Minecraft server.
  • August 1, 2012: "BFDIA 2: Get Digging", the 2nd episode of Battle for Dream Island Again, is released.
  • August 15, 2012: "BFDIA 3: Insectophobe's Nightmare 3", the 3rd episode of Battle for Dream Island Again, is released.
  • August 20, 2012: jacknjellify reaches 3,000 subscribers.
  • August 23, 2012: "3000 Subbies", a YTPMV using an original song, releases to commemorates the 3,000 subscriber milestone.
  • September 1, 2012: "BFDIA & B.A.G.U.E.T.T.E." is released.
  • September 16, 2012:
  • October 16, 2012: "Eliminating BFDI", a YTPMV of "Keygen 8" by Dubmood, is released.
  • October 31, 2012: "Happy Halloween" is released.
  • November 30, 2012: "12/12/12" is released. This was when BFDIA 5 was supposed to release. However, it got split into parts, with the first part releasing on January 2013. The video is unlisted.
  • November 1, 2012: "BFDIA 4: Zeeky Boogy Doog", the 4th episode of Battle for Dream Island Again, is released.
  • December 1, 2012: "The Lost Ice Cube Recordings", a video supposedly consisting of "lost" Ice Cube lines (actually just reversed clips from episodes), is released onto fernozzle.
  • December 8, 2012:
    • jacknjellify reaches 10,000,000 total video views.
    • "Dear Viewers", a YTPMV of "Dear Vienna" by Owl City, is released.

2013[]

2013 is the 3rd year since the creation of BFDI and has more episodes of BFDIA until BFDI's big hiatus. It's also the 5th year since the creation of jacknjellify.

  • January 1, 2013: BFDI celebrates its 3rd birthday.
  • January 2, 2013: BFDIA 5a: Get in the Van is released.
  • January 31, 2013: 5b Update is released, talking about the release date for BFDIA 5b, a flash game. However, the video is unlisted.
  • February 3, 2013:
    • jacknjellify reaches 6,000 subscribers.
    • "6000 Subscribers", a YTPMV of "Famous" by Archie, is released.
  • February 4, 2013: The jacknjellify YouTube channel turns 5 years old.
  • February 11, 2013: The game BFDIA 5b is released.
  • March 18, 2013: notverlis, Michael Huang's former music channel, is created.
  • March 31, 2013: "Send us your object shows!" is released.
  • April 11, 2013: BFDIA 5c: No More Snow! is released.
  • May 10, 2013: jacknjellify reaches 10,000 subscribers.
  • June 29, 2013: BFDIA celebrates its 1st birthday.
  • July 2, 2013: BFDIA 5d: It's a Monster is released.
  • August 1, 2013: BFDIA 5e: The Long-lost Yoyle City is released. It the final part of Episode 5.
  • August 14, 2013: Last BFDI, a YTPMV of "Last Step" by Dubmood, is released.
  • August 25, 2013: BFDI Clothes and T-shirts are released.
  • August 26, 2013: Taking a Break from BFDI. (Livestream tomorrow!) is released. It announces that Battle for Dream Island Again would be on indefinite hiatus due to the new school year and them not having enough time to work on the show. It also announces that there would be a livestream on the following day to answer people's questions.
  • August 27, 2013: The first BFDI Livestream.
  • October 27, 2013: The jacknjellify Twitter account is created.

2014[]

2014 is the 4th year since the creation of BFDI and has had little events involving BFDI due to the show being on a hiatus with jacknjellify's AdSense account being disabled for no reason. It is also the 6th year since the creation of jacknjellify.

  • January 1, 2014: BFDI celebrated its 4th birthday.
  • January 2, 2014: Thanks for 4 years!, a celebration of BFDI's 4th birthday, is released.
  • February 4, 2014: The jacknjellify YouTube channel turns 6 years old.
  • March 6, 2014: jacknjellify's AdSense account was disabled.
  • June 14, 2014: jacknjellify reaches 50,000,000 views.
  • June 21, 2014: Abacaba, Cary Huang's channel for data visualization videos, is created.
  • June 29, 2014: BFDIA celebrates its 2nd birthday.
  • August 29, 2014: Cary creates a BFDI-themed slideshow called The Adventures of the Island Dreamers for his economics class.
  • November 3, 2014: jacknjellify reaches 50,000 subscribers.

2015[]

2015 is the 5th year since the creation of BFDI and also has had little events involving BFDI. It is also the 7th year since the creation of jacknjellify.

  • January 1, 2015: BFDI celebrated its 5th birthday.
  • February 4, 2015: The jacknjellify YouTube channel turns 7 years old.
  • March 2015: Cary Huang and Michael Huang return to the object show community.
  • June 29, 2015: BFDIA celebrates its 3rd birthday.
  • July 22, 2015: Cube Roll, Cary Huang's speedcubing channel, is created.
  • August 7, 2015: jacknjellify reaches 100,000,000 views.
  • November 7, 2015: jacknjellify reaches 100,000 subscribers.
  • December 12, 2015: Ten Words of Wisdom started on the channel Carykh, hosted by Cary Huang.

2016 is the 6th year since the creation of BFDI and had a lot of events involving BFDI. BFDI returns from its long hiatus along with some other updates. It is also the 8th year since the creation of jacknjellify.

  • January 1, 2016:
  • January 19, 2016: BFDI 1b is reuploaded after the original got taken down.
  • January 22, 2016: The original BFDI 1b comes back on YouTube and the reupload is made unlisted.
  • February 4, 2016: The jacknjellify YouTube channel turns 8 years old.
  • March 3, 2016: a video called Why We've Had to Stop Animating on YouTube is released. Michael Huang talks about their unfair AdSense ban and how it affected the continuity of BFDI.
  • April 23, 2016: Cary Huang's personal Twitter account, @realCarykh, is created.
  • Spring-Summer 2016: Michael and Cary's AdSense ban gets reinstated.
  • June 29, 2016: BFDIA celebrates its 4th birthday.
  • July 4, 2016: Satomi Hinatsu creates "gridding" assets showing the bodies of characters in skins of others. Some of them would later be used for the recommended characters in Battle for BFB.
  • July 23, 2016: BFDI Is Back is released. It was a short animation announcing the comeback of BFDI and the release day for BFDIA 6.
  • August 5, 2016: Vote Yoylecake is released.
  • August 19, 2016: The IDFB 1 animation process begins
  • August 23, 2016: BFDIA 6: Deleted Scenes is released, showcasing a few clips of what BFDIA 6 could've been, before it got cancelled.
  • August 30, 2016: Coming Thursday is released. It contains the audio of the first deleted scene of BFDIA 6, as well as a previously unreleased deleted scene.
  • September 1, 2016: Welcome Back is released. It is the season premiere of IDFB rather than BFDIA 6 like most people thought. It also introduces the new assets for the recommended characters that failed to join BFDI.
  • September 25, 2016: a short update video called Back 2 School Bad News is released, delaying the release of IDFB 2 to December 1st because of college.
  • October 2, 2016: Paper Towel, a short animation is released to make up for the delay of IDFB 2.
  • November 23, 2016: BFDI's Best Hiatus Ever is released, delaying IDFB 2 again to an unknown time. There was a short animation to make up for the delay that was planned to come out on December 1st, but it was delayed to the first half of December, then became indefinitely delayed.
  • December 5, 2016: Satomi Hinatsu creates IDFB-personifications of Inanimate Insanity II characters. Some of their assets would later be used for the recommended characters in Battle for BFB.

2017 is the 7th year since the creation of BFDI and had several events involving BFDI. It is also the 9th year since the creation of jacknjellify.

  • January 1, 2017: BFDI celebrated its 7th birthday.
  • January 31, 2017: New thumbnails for Season 1 and 2 episodes were made and added. Around this time the title format for all Season 1 episodes were changed from Battle for Dream Island - Episode (number): "(title)" to BFDI (number): (title).
  • February 4, 2017: The jacknjellify YouTube channel turns 9 years old.
  • March 18, 2017: Cary and Michael Huang celebrate their 20th birthday in a livestream titled STREAM: Birthminute stream.
  • June 22, 2017: "BFDI: Ballers" is released.
  • June 29, 2017: BFDIA celebrates its 5th birthday.
  • July 2017: Cary and Michael start hiring people to do the voices, animation and audios which making good and fast production for BFB.
  • Lifespan on August 2017: Satomi Hinatsu creates assets for the recommended characters in IDFB 2, that in which would later become those from "Lick Your Way to Freedom".

Trivia[]

  • 2014 and 2015 were the only years in which no BFDI episodes were released since the series' start in 2010.
    • 2015 was also the only year in which no videos were uploaded. In 2014, there was just one video uploaded.
  • After X Finds Out His Value in 2008, Four and X were not seen on the channel again until 2017 when BFB 1 released.
  • BFDIA is the only season to be brought back after cancellation.
    • However, IDFB could come back after hiatus.
