| “ | Guys, they're never gonna find the other blessed totem, because I already found it? All that's left in there are rocks. | ” |
The totems are artifacts that first appear in "The Tweested Temple", residing within the Archaic Temple. Some of them are said to be blessed, while others are said to be cursed. While being blessed seems to have no apparent effect, being cursed appears to affect carrot cakes, causing them to come alive and fly away. Once they are alive, the carrot cakes also seem capable of detecting blessed individuals.
Appearance[]
The first-seen totem has a rectangular body and a semi-spherical head with sharp teeth. It is green and appears to be vomiting. The second and third totems have rectangular bodies and circular heads. They are purple, with one shown grinning and the other scowling. The fourth, fifth, and sixth totems have rectangular heads and segmented bodies with serpentine tails, sharp teeth, and differently colored eyes. The fourth totem has a white body and red eyes; the fifth has a black body and blue eyes; and the sixth has a bluish-black body with orange eyes. The example totem is featureless and green, with a short oblong body and a long oblong head. All totems have what appear to be either wings or fins on their sides, which are either lighter in color than the body or the same color.

Battle for BFB[]
The first totem to appear is the vomit totem in "The Tweested Temple". It rises from the floor behind Flower, who chases it as it rotates away, repelled by her vomit-repelling sweater. Gelatin manages to grab the vomit totem and delivers it to Four, who reveals that it is filled with vomit, making it cursed, and puts Gelatin up for elimination.
The second and third totems appear later when Purple Face gives the scowling totem to Leafy and the grinning totem to Woody before kicking them out of the temple. Four reveals that these two totems are also cursed due to being from Purple Face, which puts Leafy and Woody up for elimination.
The final two totems in that episode, the white and black ones, are seen on a shrine that appears to be yin-yang themed. Teardrop attempts to scientifically determine which totem is cursed and which is blessed. However, Lollipop stops her, believing that finding out could cause their alliance to fracture over who would receive immunity from the blessed totem. The two decide to blindfold themselves and randomly grab a totem. Once they leave the temple, Four reveals that the white totem was cursed and the black totem was blessed, making Teardrop safe and putting Lollipop up for elimination.
The totems are seen again in a flashback during "The Hidden Contestant", where it is revealed that Profily had taken the other blessed black totem before Flower could, explaining why she only managed to submit a rock during the challenge.
All of the totems, except for the black totem that Profily took, reappear in "B.F.B. = Back From Beginning", located inside a seemingly fake recreation of the Archaic Temple. They are used again as part of the BFB 25 challenge. Teardrop and Gelatin grab the black totem and the vomiting totem respectively to pass that segment, while Flower bypasses the segment entirely by submitting a rock again, as she did originally.
Trivia[]
- Both black totems, the one with blue eyes and the one with orange eyes, are the only totems in the temple that are not cursed.
- It is unclear whether the grinning and scowling totems are actually from the Archaic Temple or if Purple Face created them himself, as he was the one who gave them to Leafy and Woody.
- Just like in BFB 25, in BFB 28 Gelatin grabs the cursed vomit totem and Teardrop grabs the blessed black totem.
- It is unknown how the vomit totem was filled with vomit, why it was filled, or who filled it.
- It is also unknown how the vomit totem was able to rise from the floor.
- The totems may depict a specific creature, given their shared features.
- The creatures that most closely resemble the totems are the dragons and the fish monsters found around Goiky, although neither seem to live near The Pillary Ruins, where the Archaic Temple is located.
- However, given the dragon's ability to fly, it's not impossible that some lived in or near The Pillary Ruins at some point, which could make it the inspiration for the totem designs.
