Back to the main Unused or unseen content page.
Throughout the history of Battle for Dream Island, there exists content that was not generally intended to be seen, noticed, or otherwise was lost to the basic audience at one point in time. Content here could include items from the drawings (TFI, TFP), the show (BFDI, BFDIA, IDFB, BFB, TPOT), hidden content out of bounds in .fla files for animations, or other media that is BFDI related.
Please note that for all intents and purposes, none of the information documented is considered to be canon with the rest of the series.
Balloony's early design[]
Inside Balloony's body, there is a guide layer which is hidden and locked that has a what-could-be an early version of Balloony's string. The possible early string is slightly stretched and is dark green, but it was scrapped later due to the fact that the string doesn't match with his limbs.
Unused Bracelety Shine[]
Inside Bracelety's body, there is a guide layer which is hidden and locked that has a shine in it.
Gaty's early design[]
Inside Gaty's asset, there are 2 hidden guide layers named "front" and "back", which shown together and the "Layer 7" layer hidden make up an early version having slightly different colors than the final asset along with a line on the shading.
Grassy's early design[]
Grassy had a redesign created for him, but it was scrapped due to Cary Huang finding his older version to look better. Grassy would become one of the only TLC Prisoners to not receive a redesign as a result, although he would get a redesign in Battle for BFDI.
Tree's early design[]
Tree had an early design with yellow leaves. This was in a file containing IDFB assets given through Discord by Satomi.
Early intro TLC placements[]
Two early placements of the TLC prisoners in the intro exist inside the idfb-intro.fla file. These use Grassy's scrapped asset. The differences on these placements are Gelatin and Pencil being on the placements instead of David and Firey Jr..
Early intro character waterfall[]
An early version of the character waterfall in the intro, with all of them being packed together instead of being spaced apart and the TLC contestants being separated from the free contestants, exists inside the same file. This uses Grassy's scrapped asset.
Speaker Boxes[]
There are speaker boxes are hidden in the IDFB intro file, despite having no speaker boxes visible in the intro. They might appear in IDFB 2.
Unused 8-Ball Animation[]
In the IDFB intro .fla file, there is an unused animation for 8-Ball, named Zoom 8-Ball.
White fade[]
In the IDFB intro file, there's a hidden layer named "White fade". After the recommended characters zoom out, there's an additional white fade that occurs.
Unused sea mockup[]
There is a hidden sea asset that was unused. This one has grayscale colors and has no animation. All of the buildings are also missing except the Yoyle Needy.
REFLS COMING UP[]
Inside the "hillie scene refls" symbol, there is a secret message called "REFLS COMING UP". This was likely used for reference.
Eliminated contestants in the intro[]
In the intro file, there are various symbols inside the file which feature contestants eliminated in Battle for Dream Island Again.
Dora in the intro[]
In the intro file, on the frame before the contestants disappear off screen Dora becomes visible replacing flower.
Missing source files[]
There are several missing or deleted .fla files from the BFDI source files, where the currently known ones are listed below. Most of this information comes from Back 2 School Bad News.
